I dropped my wife's van off with an exhaust rattle and leak, and he said he would call and let me know what they needed to do before he started working on it. He called back and said we only needed a resonator and hanger for $125. I couldn't believe it! I picked the van up a couple of hours later, and it sounded like new! It was just incredible! They have great prices, great service, and the most important part was the Honesty! Richard Chaplin: Finally finished up the transmission swap on Goldie this past weekend. All that was left was to get the exhaust system reconnected and welded. I stopped by on Monday and made an appointment with a shop that was not too far from my house (name withheld). I showed up for the appointment today at 1:00 as scheduled. They pulled the car in to the bay and put it up on the rack. Guy comes back a few minutes later and tells me that it doesn’t appear they will have time today to complete my exhaust work. It’s probably going to take most of an afternoon and the quote is $678.51. Noped right out of there. Spoke to a friend who recommended Sheldon’s Custom Muffler at 2560 W College. I dropped by just before 2:00pm and spoke with the owner, Justin. He said he had 2 vehicles on the rack currently and 2 more ahead of me. I assumed that I would need to make an appointment and come back another day and asked him that. He said that he doesn’t do appointments (at least for exhaust side, not sure about the repair side). He operates on a first come, first served basis and that he should be free in an hour to an hour and a half. He asked if I could come back in a bit. Sure thing. I showed back up just after 3:00. He was finished with the 4 vehicles ahead of me and pulled my car in to the bay immediately. Once up on the lift, I explained to him what I was looking to have done. He said it shouldn’t be any trouble. Approximately an hour later, he was finished (better part of an afternoon, my foot). Total repair cost…..$200. Ryan Tracy: After experiencing several misdiagnoses and spending over $650+ on parts and labor, the issue I brought my vehicle in for remains unresolved. When I scheduled an appointment to have the vehicle inspected, it sat idle for several days without any attention, leaving me without transportation for an extended period.I genuinely wish to have the original issue addressed; however, I cannot afford to continue with guessing at repairs that end up costing me more. In 2022, when I previously had work done on my vehicle, I received it back with several error codes, some of which I managed to resolve. Unfortunately, the most recent code I had addressed has persisted as a problem since I retrieved the vehicle originally and continues to be an issue.I have decided to give a rating of 2 stars due to Reggie's friendliness and assistance.Service:General repairs maintenance

Jeff Koenig: This is who you go to for help with anything muffler. I cannot speak for the other services offered but he saved us $800 today on muffler and tailpipe work. Another highly rated muffler place in Springfield quoted us over $850 saying we needed a whole new muffler and tailpipe. I was charged $60 here without a special order and waiting. While I was there, he actually admitted he didn’t know something very well to another customer and referred them to his friend down the road. He said he had a reputation to uphold and didn’t want this customer to be disappointed with his work in an area he didn’t feel comfortable with. 10 ⭐️ rating

William James: There not a bad place to go, for me all they had to do replace a short peace of tall pipe about 10 inches. The price was vary reasonable. I stopped at a different shop and the price was almost 5x as much. The only bad thing I could say about the place is that it was full of cigarette smoke and they are a cash only place. No checks, no credit cards, or debit cards CASH ONLY. Witch is fine as long as you know it before you go.

Our buildings were closer to the 3 weeks. The buildings come with free installation and our crew was amazing. All four buildings were completed in about 8 hours.

Every time I go in, the amount I pay is less than I expect. And they will not risk the reputation of the company for a quick upsell. They tell you what urgently needs fixing, what can wait, what will eventually happen, and their best estimate on a timeline. They want you to be a repeat customer, and it shows.

Shawn Summers: I've been using A-1 for maybe 20 years? It's been a very good run but sadly today is my last visit.I needed an oil change on my Tundra. It was slow but I was late, seems fair.The real problem was when I was told I need transmission service /fluid change($280) My immediate response was "No it doesn't" but I didn't explain why I knew that. The service writer told me the fluid was dark. I knew two things, I had just had it done at a different shop and my truck doesn't have a transmission dipstick. There's no way to determine dark fluid without significant work.I challenged the service writer and initially he blames "a new system" finally he admitted he made up the dark fluid part. And that the ticket reflected Service Trans if not already done. Very different from "you need transmission service" "the fluid is dark"Long story short. They would have happily taken the $280, dumped the nearly new fluid, and refilled and I would have likely never known. It's predatory and had I been less informed I would have been taken. I'm not a car expert, so I have to trust my service provider, this transaction undermines that trust.

John Wiley: I came in to a filthy store, and the guy who acted in charge greeted me with absolute distaste (sorry you have to do your job), then became condescending. Upon looking my car over, there were a few problems they addressed, but the most concerning was he insisted that the last shop to put my back tires on, put lugs too tight, warping back rotors. All laughs til it hit me, and I said out loud, that Midas was the last shop to put them back on. 2 stars, as what I could afford to fix, they did so correctly. Whomever let this snide, unclean, and very unprofessional man even deal with the public, should probably not be in the hiring process. I have an older car that was neglected, needs a ton of expensive work done (Hyundai), and Midas pushed me to their competition. 🙄🤷♂️

Jonathan: These guys are really awesome to work with. I won't go into details but I'll say they had their hands full, they were backed up because somebody had quit. Now here they were: a person short while they simultaneously were dealing with some craziness concerning the ownership side of the business. Que myself right in the middle of all that. It wasn't an emergency. We needed a spare tire for a trailer and because it was an odd tire size, they didn't have it on location.Despite the difficult circumstances, the staff was dealing with, they were truly professional and had the replacement tire mounted and ready for pick-up the same day! Contrary to what I said I was going to do, things got crazy for me and I didn't pick it up until the next week (I said I would be there later that day or the following day). If it had been a rush job, we would've been back on the road the same day. These people are professionals, they know what they're doing and they'll give you an honest price for punctual work. I'm definitely bringing my personal vehicle there because I need some tire work done and they've proven to be the place to go!

The manager at the desk took my information and ordered a tire for me right there. He said it would be ready that afternoon. They called me when it was ready. After work I picked it up. It was affordable, and the guys were friendly. I was in nice work clothes and a man asked to carry the tire to my ride waiting in the parking lot. Awesome service! Since it would be a few hours before the tires would be delivered they made sure I was good and safe to drive and even told me to call for help if I had trouble getting back.
