Max Muzychenko: Worst customer service compared to any institution. They never answer the phone at this branch so don’t bother calling. That’s not the worst, they will hold your check on purpose until you have a negative balance then they will throw in an insufficient fund fee.
The Drummer for The Burdocks: This is my main bank location, since it feels so safe and homey. I always get one of the same two attendants, and both of them always help me out as fast as possible. No problems, no stress, no questions. Top notch group of people.

Thanks to them, we paid off a huge pile of credit card debt, and were able to achieve a A+ credit rating. This allowed us to buy a new car at an incredible low interest rate. Now paid in full! We decided to buy a home here in Springfield, they were the FIRST place we went for the loan. The bank has truly been a awesome experience!

Dr.Phil Bigone: I had banked here for almost a year. Being out of state and using online banking I depended on online services. After having many times being locked out of my account due to bank changes I decided to close my account. The password was always being interpreted and had to call everytime to gain account access. For this reason I closed the account. The IT department I hold responsible for this. The bank personal were always helpful and friendly.

Abra Hay: This branch is the worst in Springfield ten fold. Went up to drive up lane to get balances of both accounts because ATM had 3 patrons in line. Waited at drive up for 4 min and was treated like dirt. Im not looking for a lunch time conversation but geez you can be jovial towards customers. I will never be back to this branch it is worth the extra driving to go anywhere else! Learn some manners and remember to be courteous to your customers for they are the ones who are providing you with their business. Great Southern is not the only Bank in Springfield just remember that.

If you go to the w kearney branch and you find yourself talking to Renee Wadlington dont just get up and leave but run!! This lady doesnt have a customer service bone in her body. Her idea is to point the blame on whoever or whatever instead of resolving the issue. She was so aggrivating i couldnt finish the dispute i initiated and had to walk away from her..her blame game was just too much. The customer service is why i switched to Bank of America and this lady just confirmed that I made the right decision!! Brandon the branch manager at this location however is truly an asset to this bank! He took my complaint seriously and if great southern is smart they will realize what a great manager he is. Move Brandon up and move Renee out!!

Upon receipt it was $60.00 short. I asked the teller why, she said they send the request to another entity and they based the sum on '"a calculation." I knew the exchange rates for the date I made the request and informed her of this. She replied with the same answer three times before I decided she was too dumb to continue talking to. Disgusted, I walked out.Unsatisfied, I walked back in and saw another teller, hoping for something a little more educated. Pretty much the same answer and unable to do the math. Again, frustrated, I walked out.Starting to get really irritated and kicking myself for accepting the answers I received, I walked back into the bank to speak with the manager.Upon asking the manager to do the math, she rudely replied,"I don't do math. Just because I work in a bank doesn't mean I do math!"Wow, a bank where none of the employees knows basic math! I gave the money back and departed.This bank is set up to use people's funds at their own discretion. They fool the public with a $50.00 referral program written in bold lettering, but after reading into the fine print, one could make a million dollar deposit and not qualify. One needs to be on direct deposit for a pre-determined timeframe.Why do they do this? So they have a better idea how much money is guaranteed to hit their vault, so they can invest your funds as if it was theirs. They can do this safely knowing that if they invest wrong, customers are protected by Federal Insurance.I wouldn't mind so much if the employees were friendly and competent, if the bank actually had employees sitting at their desks (several empty desks), or if they passed some of the benefits from investing customers funds back to the customer.I think this bank, much like the ones popping up all over, are keen to the fact that it's one of the easiest means for rich people to fleece the public.Every responsible adult needs to have a bank account, and that's where they get you.Avoid Commerce Bank at 3301 E Sunshine St, Springfield, MO 65804-update 04/10/02- Some time after posting this, my credit card was canceled. When asked about it, they said I did it. I asked when I supposedly did this, they told me they didn't know. I know I didn't, so, beware if you have an account and give a negative rating.

I agreed, Then I was told I had to give them my social Security number, I said its invasive and against my constitutional rights but OK, then wanted a phone number. I WONT EVER accept a check from Commerce bank again, employees say its our policies, but don't realize they are acting as tax collector just like third world countries! If I could negative star them I would unfortunately, not possibly avoid any interactions with these people.

Batonic: They take forever to process deposits. Saturday, Sunday, Monday are off the table. Tuesday is still iffy. Wednesday through Friday before 5 is your only chance. It takes forever for most deposits/withdrawals to show up in general. It’s been nearly 2 years since they switched to chip cards, yet I still have to insert and remove my card at the atm just to be told it is a chip card and to reinsert it. On the first insert it says to remove the card. “Chip card detected, please re-insert.” I know it’s a chip card. I’ve known for 2 years. How does your atm not know yet? Will be switching banks ASAP.
A N: Hardest bank to deal with by far. Especially for just wanting to cash a check that was written on them! I would make sure to bring every legal document you have and an extra arm and a leg! Ridiculous! And the little young lady working the teller station at the Sunshine location was rude! There was a day when people knew my first name when I came in and appreciated my business. Today I am hassled, Profiled only to have to give them ID to cash a check written to myself? Mitch Brockman: Short lines with long waits in between customer is what you have to look forward to. The bad part is that's the most enjoyable experience you will have there. Employees standing there not doing anything except literally twisting their thumbs... when I finally get to the only person that seemed to be working I get charged a $6 fee for cashing a check from their own bank.. because I'm not an "account holder there". After being told that I had to wait another 7 minutes for her to type in my driver's license number and get questioned like I'm the one robbing people. Only reason I even went to this bank was because I would rather cash a check for my business at the place of origin where the money is being held. To potentially save a headache down the road. And my indate state issued driver's license wasn't sufficient form of ID, k had to produce an additional. As they ran a background check on me and questioned me about previous address... strange service to me..
John Bowes: Worst bank when it comes to posting purchases. You literally can’t trust what your online account balance says and have to use my check book ledger on every card transaction. I own a business and they are about to lose us as customers.
Inner State Productions: Had a checking account for over 10 years. They tried to be sneaky and not include the upcoming changes to my account. They just started charging a monthly $8 service fee to use the account. I went to my local branch, made sure the balance was at $0, and closed the account. I logged in online 2 days later and it shows they revoked an important previous payment that had already processed. They also took out more service fee charges, this put my account in the negative and revoked my important previous payment. Now the payment is late and I have to go to the bank again to close my account for the second time. Please train your tellers better. This was so frustrating, I've already created a new checking account at Springfield First Community Bank for free. No hidden charges or fees!

This is by far the best great southern location in the area.

Shannon DeVries: I was really disappointed in this branch. It is located close to my work so I can make it there before they close (I couldn't believe they are open until 7 pm- positive score toward star rating). I went inside to talk to them about two letters I had received in the mail, and brought those letters with me. One letter said that my automatic withdrawals were being dropped, the other said welcome to the Great Southern family, they couldn't wait to serve my loan needs. I was confused about the conflicting statements and why my automatic withdrawals were being dropped. My car loan had been through Great Southern for 3 years, and I still had approximately a year left on my car loan. Either way, I wasn't expecting what would happen next. The man who met with me seemed to be annoyed by the fact that I was asking for help. I explained that my wallet had been stolen in October 2016, but I had changed all my checking information shortly after in November 2016, and Great Southern hadn't had any issues with taking money out of my new account until JULY 2017. Suddenly, over 7 months later, they are having problems with my account through another bank. (sounds fishy?? -when they could repossess my vehicle with just over $1000 left on my loans. Several friends said I should contact the BBB about this gut feeling I had in the first place). Needless to say I wasn't pleased, but casually mentioned that there must have been some mistake in the paperwork side on their part. The man refused to acknowledge that Great Southern was in any way at fault for this transaction issue. I even said, "well not your branch in particular, but somewhere there was a miscommunication," and again he argued with me and tried to put blame on me, but couldn't explain how this could happen that they correctly took money out of my new account for over 7 MONTHS, and nothing had changed during that time! How sad. I definitely wouldn't recommend this branch now in how I was treated. I am glad to say they AREN'T my bank and no longer service my loan!

So I left very frustrated and went across the street to Great Southern. They were very friendly and made me copies without hesitation.
