Royce Shields: Upon arrival the place was really nice. Once seated we placed our orders. We waited about 45 mins before getting the two appetizers that were ordered. After about another 20 mins or so the waitress approached the table and informed us that she placed the order incorrectly(Unfortunately she didn’t provide us a name so can’t exactly who she was) but when asked about how long it would be before the food would come, she stated “well you ordered 3 steaks, rolled her eyes and walked off”(mind you all the steaks were 6oz) she also brought me a child’s orange juice and when she returned for refills I asked for more juice and she stated “well they said they ran out of juice”, as if that’s my fault. She could have said this and I could have ordered something else! We then we asked for a manager and asked the same about time frame on receiving food, because now we’ve waited over an hour, and with no response. He then stated “you did order steaks and your orders all needed extra accommodations, but not going to go back and forth with you we are working on getting it out to you, it’s only been placed 20 mins ago and walked off”…I am a manager myself and never would treat guest in this manner we then as a party of 9 decided to leave. It was very clear that other tables were a priority over others, but even as nice as the place displayed its self to be, we will not return to this location. There were guest that arrived after us and who spoke to us outside of the restaurant as they waited for the rest of their party, they got in received food and was leaving within the time of us asking about receiving our order. Ruined the birthday girls day for sure, currently looking for another place to eat. Worst visit ever!!!!
Lovey Carvin: My family of (9) went here for brunch and celebrating a birthday, while we arrived @ 1130 for our reservation was promptly seated at 1139(no problem) however once seated the sever(which I don’t recall her name) took almost 20mins to greet us! Took our drink orders took a while returning with drinks, promptly after we placed our food order roughly 12:15, waited patiently server returned to our table @ 12:40 stating it was a mishaps between her putting in the order & the kitchen staff! Never apologized for the mess up! I then approached the manager adv him of the issue.He begin to tell me we ordered steaks and etc, mindful of that however the fact the serve & manager both responded w/attitude’s & unprofessional mannerUNACCEPTABLE, clear to see In the environment was prioritized by color. A family bigger then our party arrived and was seated same time as our party & was leaving and served when we decided to leave the establishment.Sadden first time here and will never return

Hannah Taylor: We met some family here for brunch a few weeks back and it was really disappointing. I had been looking forward to it for a very long time and heard great things. Our service was okay and the place was beautiful but there was long periods in between being checked on and the food was extremely underwhelming. I got the diablo and it was okay but wasn't really spicy nor had a lot of flavor and my boyfriend's french toast looked unappetizing. Definitely not worth the $70+ I spent on the two of us... Maybe we should have come for dinner instead.

It was absolutely delightful seeing them all come out in their swan lake interpretation to present the bottle of wine to the table next to us! They have an extensive drink menu. Jim H.: I have eaten at a lot of high end places which have disappointed me, but this is not one of those places. I had a ribeye which was cooked to perfection. Another party member had the filet mignon which just melts in your mouth. Nice romantic atmosphere, nothing pretentious about the decor or staff. This place is not cheap - $180 for two which did not include drinks or dessert - but it was worth every cent. One thing to know is there is no on-site parking so you need to find street parking nearby.

Jeremy Hale: The best meal/dining experience I've had in Kansas City.I had the filet, the other person in my group had the ribeye. The steaks were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Included sides were excellent. Escargot was great, and the garlic/butter sauce it came in was insanely good. We foolishly had a late lunch and were too full to try salads/soups/desserts, but I'm sure they're all amazing as well based off of what I heard people around us saying. Service was impeccable. This will definitely be my choice for birthdays/anniversaries going forward.

Anita Todd: Our first time eating at Piropos. Our server Jill was excellent. We had the crab bisque which was amazing. My husband had the ribeye. Perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the medallions and shrimp. The sauces were so delicious. They gave us a free sample of the bread and dipping sauces which we ate during and after dinner. Overall excellent meal and service and we would highly recommend. Btw. The sangria was excellent too!!

The bread basket comes with three different spreads to try out. The appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken empanadas were absolutely delicious.I ordered the beef medallions with tiger shrimp. It was phenomenal. Excellent flavor, and the sauce for the medallions was exquisite. I highly recommend ordering the chicken empanadas to start and go from there. Patrick Walker: A nice, updated take on the typical schnitzel and sausage fare you typically find in German restaurants. The brat trio was delicately flavored and nicely sauced. Preferable to the seafood risotto dish, which was competently executed, but nothing beyond what you’d find in another good local restaurant. The Painted Table dessert was remarkable in sweet flavors and in flame-illuminated presentation. Truly unique.

Service was amazing and the food was great. High quality ingredients with mixtures of flavors that you don't expect and they still somehow taste amazing together. We got the Hummer Poutine, Risotto von Meeresfruchten, and Jakobsmuscheln mit Entenleber. It all was so good - loved the seafood. I'd probably go for a lighter starter next time but we were curious about lobster poutine.

Woodsie Woods: First time and it was great. Ordered off their new seasonal “white asparagus” menu. The white asparagus soup had a nice deep flavor but was a tad too salty. I was very excited to see morel mushrooms on the menu with the white asparagus and morel mushroom spatzle. This dish had a nice sherry cream sauce, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the morel mushrooms. Overall pleased with the quality, especially with these recipes being a fairly new addition.
Racheal Soendker: Truly one of the best restaurants in KC. Make a reservation to ensure you can be seated. Especially on the weekends. This is not a place to go if you are I'm a rush. They know how to time the dishes so you are sure to be finished with appetizers before the next course is brought out. They give you time to enjoy each course. If you choose to do a bottle of wine, the server is good about coming back to pour it timely. And the food is amazing. If you can, make sure you get there in the spring for the white asparagus menu. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Everything tasted fresh but kind of lackluster, especially the apps and dessert and the Black Forest cake didn’t really have the layer of cherries like it’s supposed to. The beef roulade was like fancy meat loaf and tasted okay. The cabbage was delicious, but, again, a bit on the sour side considering it took up the majority of the plate. The drinks, vibe, and service were fantastic. I would have rated this a 4/5 but one of our party had stomach issues after eating the beef roulade and cabbage. I may give this place another try, but probably not for a while.

Megan Anderson: One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City! If you are a foodie as we are, you will certainly find dishes unlike anything you have had before. We leave every time excited about numerous dishes and trying things we never would have considered. For example, SWEETBREADS, they make them absolutely divine. I love that everyday we walk through the doors that the menu is brand new and inventive! We love sitting at the bar near the kitchen so we can watch everyone channel their creative skills. A must try!

The dishes are seasonal, so you may not get something you had before. We ordered one of everything and split it. They put their touch on every dish, and it is delicious. Sharing the small (delicious) dishes among 4 people definitely left us wanting more, but by the end of the last course I was full. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the sweet umeaboshi plum jus perfectly complemented the dish.To conclude my meal, I couldn't resist the Coconut Panna Cotta with pandan ice cream, mango sauce, and caramel tuille. This light, refreshing dessert, reminiscent of spring, provided the ideal ending to my dining experience.
Warda Shafi: I always prefer better quality food in small plates over mediocre food piled on the plates. I had the haddock with bok choy, sushi rice, caviar, and mushrooms. The dish was a little soupy, always a plus for me since I'm a huge soup fan. The food was delicious and looked wonderful, and I could tell the ingredients were of high quality, always a delight. This was a hearty meal, all the while very light on the stomach.

Michael Coddington: Delicious and unique dining. Great cocktails and rum flights. Menu is divided between Caribbean and traditional Ethiopian offerings. Lambi (conch) and Mesob Special (shrimp) to start, Oxtails were stellar, House Special Tibs was wildly delicious, Seafood Paella was standard but good. Rum Cake and Oreo bread pudding finished out the great meal. We will note that service this Friday night was terrible; no one greeting at the door, had to wait quite a while for someone to notice and be seated for our reservation, and this occurred for almost every party coming in, servers were gracious and helpful, but long waits between seating, water, taking orders, and trying to get our bill to leave. It wasn't particularly busy, and there seemed to be plenty of staff, but they seemed confused and erratic. Will 100% recommend for the food, I just hope the service was a one off difficult night.

My twob oxtails, although large and flavorful, were not as tender as they needed to be. We both opted for white rice (which came a little later) instead of the black mushroom rice since I am allergic to some types of mushrooms. I will say the sauce was ample and therefore make the rice taste so good!My cousin got the Jerk Ribs with parmasan fries with a spicy sauce and coleslaw. His wife ordered a seafood jambalaya. I'd probably say blue nile is better for KC Ethiopian, but this is a super fun menu and the place has a great vibe.I think they were maybe a bit understaffed, so we were served by the hostess. This is a odd menu with various things size for two or more, so you really need help if you haven't been before. We also had to ask several times for new utensils.Vegetarian options: Ethiopian is always great for vegetarian. Options here were good for KC, but about okay for Ethiopian.
