The Dining Experience at the Kauffman Center: what do users think?
Brad Elpers: Okay food. Convenient location. Steak frites and Parmesan French fries both tasted microwaved. The caprese salad was burrata with tomato and peach. Excellent. Service was great. The bartender was slammed yet kind to everyone and patient. Price was $80 for three glasses of red, a lot of fries, steak frites and a caprese salad.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Mark Duncan: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Mary Lou: I did not eat at restaurant but I loved the beautiful environment and the views! I was there to see Kenny G!Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jason Wilhelmsen: The menu consists only of a few snacks that require either no cooking or heating up in a microwave. Cocktails were low quality despite the Vegas price points. Ordered the same one twice and it came out completely different. “Dining Experience” is a misleading name if you only serve dips, crackers and a few desserts. The view is nice.
w bruce haydon: Chick food. Weird hours. Good food that looks pretty. Small portions. Great staff.
Leslie Jones: We enjoy dining here before attending concerts and shows. The food is delicious but I wish they had more entree choices
James K. Psaras: Everything was exceptional
Victor Rodriguez: The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Place looks real modern European style
Ronda Bell: Excellent!
Staci Winston: Wonderful dinner! Very special. Wine was fantastic and so was our server.
Keyana Winston: Perfect for a special occasion, beautiful view, fresh and clean tasting food.
Phil Carey: Stunning venue
marcia hurlow: Although we did not go to the restaurant, we did enjoy treats brought for sale outside the concert hall.
debra hughes: Visited for restaurant week. Our server, Danielle, was amazing. The food was lovely. However, I and another lady in our party of three became very ill later. The only difference in what we ordered and our friends meal was dessert and one bottle of wine. Contacted the restaurant manager. He seemed disinterested for the most part. Did not feel he valued our patronage or option. Disappointed.
richard ames: Fabulous production. Entertaining for any age!
Forrest Chumley: Great food. Great service. Good price. Convenient for attending show at Kauffman Center. Put all together, it's hard to beat.
R B.: Good cake pops
Donna Sloan: Service was just OK. My main course came out cold and needed to be sent back. The other entree was warm but my friend chose not to send it back. When the manager asked how our meal was and I told him about it, he blamed us, stating the server brought it out but saw we were still eating our salad, so took it back. I fail to see how that warrants serving a cold dinner. I responded “you asked, so I told you”. He apologized and walked away to chit chat with the hostess. This restaurant has some work to do before I spend another $140 for dinner.
Jim Williams: Very nice dining experience with (expected) limited menu but eclectic, delicious choices. The service was first rate without being fussy and recommendations were knowledgeable. We will definitely return.
CeeLee Atsch: Artistic food, beautifully served. Service is just ok. Allow plenty of time to enjoy the prix fixe menu as the pacing is deliberately slow. Could stand to add one or two items to the small plates offerings or else be sure to have plenty on hand. With a few tweaks this could be a truly standout experience. You can't beat the convenience of you've got tickets at the Kaufman Center.
Barbara Anderson: Good food and service. Love the new menu. Will be back soon!!!!

Megan Anderson: One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City! If you are a foodie as we are, you will certainly find dishes unlike anything you have had before. We leave every time excited about numerous dishes and trying things we never would have considered. For example, SWEETBREADS, they make them absolutely divine. I love that everyday we walk through the doors that the menu is brand new and inventive! We love sitting at the bar near the kitchen so we can watch everyone channel their creative skills. A must try!
Shai Mason: Hands down the best food and service I have received. I will definitely be stopping in Kansas City just to eat here. Big props to Drew and Chris for making me and my friend feel welcomed even though we strolled in near the end of service. The food was immaculate and the kindness and down-to-earth nature of the people working at the Antler Room is refreshing. I appreciate how much work goes into each dish and if you want to have a wonderful experience you should come here.

Emily Lemus: The Antler Room is my new favorite spot in KC! Food was beyond my expectations and their menu has a little bit for everyone whilst still being adventurous. Service was great as well! It was my first time ever here and the friendliness of the staff and just general vibe was lovely; Such a small cozy place to enjoy a delicious meal!
Charles Franklin: Our family joined my wife and me to celebrate our anniversary. We had been here before and were somewhat familiar. The dishes are seasonal, so you may not get something you had before. We ordered one of everything and split it. They put their touch on every dish, and it is delicious. Katie was our server, and she was attentive to us. She kept our drinks charged and plates and silverware clean.
Jessica Hazlett: I went in not knowing what to expect, so I was very worried when I found out it was a family-style serving situation, especially considering the small dishes I'd seen in reviews. Sharing the small (delicious) dishes among 4 people definitely left us wanting more, but by the end of the last course I was full. Not overstuffed, not too full to walk, but satisfied, which I very much prefer. I loved it, but if I were to go back, I would probably stick with a party of 2 instead of 4.
Amy Fantasma: Delicious!! Food is excellent!
Barbara Findley: Amazing food and the service was impeccable! We loved the experience and highly recommend it for a great dining experience. I can't wait to go again when I am in Kansas City.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Allison Koelzer: Incredible, eclectic dishes in a vibey, friendly environment. Cocktail and bar program is always banging!Go for the veg forward dishes, you’ll fall in love with greens and root veggies in a way you didn’t think you could!
Darrell Loo: The Antler Room is my favorite restaurant in town, and as always, my recent visit on Thursday didn't disappoint. I had just returned to town and was eager to relax in a comfortable atmosphere. Settling at the bar with a delightful glass of wine, I perused the seasonal menu with anticipation. My meal began with the irresistible Nori Shokupan, a must-have staple whenever I spot it on the menu. I continued with the Romanesco dish, featuring golden hummus, anchovy brown butter, crispy chickpeas, and anchovies. This flavorful dish showcased fresh, delectable vegetables. Another standout was the Cucumber dish with smoked salmavocado, tahini sauce, and buckwheat lavosh in a rose vinaigrette. This simple, refreshing dish was beautifully balanced by the vinaigrette.Next, I savored the Pan-Roasted Veal Sweetbreads, accompanied by beef tallow whipped potatoes, endive, white wine mustard sauce, croutons, capers, and rosemary. This hearty, comforting dish was a delight. I also enjoyed the Seared Duck Breast, served with fried sunchokes, local spinach, ravigote, and umeaboshi plum jus. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the sweet umeaboshi plum jus perfectly complemented the dish.To conclude my meal, I couldn't resist the Coconut Panna Cotta with pandan ice cream, mango sauce, and caramel tuille. This light, refreshing dessert, reminiscent of spring, provided the ideal ending to my dining experience.
Warda Shafi: I always prefer better quality food in small plates over mediocre food piled on the plates. I had the haddock with bok choy, sushi rice, caviar, and mushrooms. The dish was a little soupy, always a plus for me since I'm a huge soup fan. The food was delicious and looked wonderful, and I could tell the ingredients were of high quality, always a delight. This was a hearty meal, all the while very light on the stomach.
Mark Steele: Really impressive meal in quaint neighborhood of Kansas City. I was recommended here by a local foodie...and their level escalated a few notches. Not a immensely large menu, but quality and thought out. This was my last stop before airport, so only got to enjoy a few items:- Rabbit and Kale Tortellini- Veal SweetbreadBoth were easily paired with a wine by the glass.Everything is well valued, too.Bartender knew his selections and pairings well.My only regret is that I didn't have enough time to enjoy more.Well done to the team. Experiences like this happen only with commitment and leadership at the top.Be smart and assure you stop here. If I lived in vicinity, it'd be a bi-weekly trip.

cristina osorio: Went here yesterday, 06/11/23, with a reservation. They refused to seat us because one person in our party was next door getting coffee beans. They proceeded to seat 3 walk in groups ahead of us even after our missing member returned.Once seated, we were ignored for 37 minutes. The entire place was packed, with no sound absorbing efforts, so it was groups of people at every table just yelling the entire time. I stopped a different waitress to put our order in because we were about to walk out and find someplace else to eat. She said she couldn't take our order because the kitchen was too busy. There should never be more chairs in the facility than the capacity of the kitchen so that problem should never even happen! It took 32 mins after our order was placed before the food came out. We spent 75 mins in total in there at the table with no food. The food came out over cooked and bland. The potato bowl is literally onions and potatoes. Nothing else. The salmon Benedict came out with completely rock hard eggs and raw cold bread. The salmon was random small flakes and mostly skin. There were issues with every dish and my party left roughly half their food on their plates. The waitress never asked how the food was and just dropped the bill on while walking by.Never go here.

Hannah Uthe: Went here for a meal after family photos on a Saturday evening. I had never been here before and it looked like the perfect spot with many different options to take my family. The best part about out experience here was the appetizers. The cheese curds and catfish bites were good. Our server was nice but did not check on us enough. We had to ask another staff member for more water and this place only has maybe 20 tables. Every entree we received had little to no flavor. The potatoes are not seasoned, the nettle pasta has more chunks of onion than pasta in the dish, and their burger buns are somehow soggy and crumbly at the same time. It definitely was not worth the money. With all the other great restaurants on the westside, I will not be back here.
Todd Miller: I thought it was absolutely overpriced for what you get. Will not be going back.
Alexander Connell: Literally 40$ for two slice French toast 2 eggs and sausage side with juice.....ordered carry out, paid, haven't gotten my food yet but the price seems absolutely Ludacris. Will update after I eat to determine if the price is worth it or not.Food: 1/5 …More

Mikala Gardner: Incredible. Best meal I've had in awhile. So unique, everything you get will blow your mind. The ribeye was so tender and juicy. Perfection. This is a must go in KC. We went in and just grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered all of our entrees with the bartender. The live music addition just perfects the atmosphere!
Timothy Broderick: Overall, a fine dining experience. Courteous and polite service complemented by trained chef expertise.
Figo Chin: An amazing restaurant for date night and dinner parties. We enjoyed all the delicious food and drinks, paired with live music.Food wise: We had the Seaweed Donuts (similar to beignets, served with whipped butter and roe); Crispy Pork Ribs (MUST-HAVE!), XO Fried Rice and Spicy Strozzapreti. I would recommend the first three and can skip the last pasta dish if you're not a fan of kimchi.
John San Agustin: Honestly, my entire experience at this restaurant was disappointing. There is a ton of promise and knowledge in the restaurant as a whole, but the execution of practically all menu items was poor. Aaron Wong: I’ve been wanting to try this spot for a while now and so glad I got the chance. A buddy of mine brought me here for my birthday and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Kansas City. It was a Monday night and we didn’t have a reservation, so the host sat us up at the bar. Really not even worth mentioning except it was at the very end right next to the service well so it was a little distracting at times. The menu is New American/Italian/Asian fusion. We took recommendations from our server who may have been the floor manager. She helped us navigate the menu and we ended up ordering seaweed doughnut and crispy pork ribs to start. The seaweed doughnuts were decadent, think savory beignets with hint of seaweed smeared with a trout roe crema. The flavors of the crispy pork ribs heavily reminded me of a Vietnamese dish, bun cha. Next we had spicy strozzapretti and XO fried rice. The strozzapretti definitely stole the show, both of our favorite for the night. So much so we ordered a second. We still had a little room after so we asked for another suggestion and landed on the mushroom burger. It wasn’t a patty like I had expected, but more akin to a mushroom sloppy joe. That being said it did not disappoint the taste buds. Needless to say I’ll be back with the wife and friends in tow so I can try more phenomenal offerings from this menu.
Miguel Cunha: Good atmosphere with great live piano while you dine. The service was very friendly and attentive. From the dishes we tried I found the Gem salad, donuts, steak tartar, ribeye and creme brulee to be the best ones. Anthony C: Maybe I'm not your target customer; the place is pricey for me, but I went in for a special occasion. The food really was good and the service attentive, so that part was good. I felt the portions were small. The thing that was so disappointing was that I chose the place based on a live music performance. There is one table directly behind a beam with nearly total obstructed viewing. Of course, that's where we were seated. I was so excited to try a good, albeit expensive, place and enjoy a show. I had reservations and everything. I couldn't enjoy the show I came to see. There was no forewarning or acknowledgement of the situation. I didn't bring it up because all the other tables were full and reseating wouldn't have been possible. If I would have known, I wouldn't have gone.

Jamie Reuter: We had the burger, rigatoni, pork chop and fries. Also two glasses of wine. The only thing above average is the fries. Wendy's has a better burger. Just awful. Rigatoni was a bad version of midwest goulash and seriously the worst pork chop known to pigs. Horrifying subpar. James Beard is a joke if this place exists!!!

zhuoxin wang: I made reservations long time ago at tasting room for my bf birthday. I left note when I made the reservation. And told them the moment I step in. nothing special for his birthday. And the picture is a small bouquet I paid for 75 plus service fee and taxes. This place is way over priced. And the girl server give me a feeling that she doesn’t even want to serve our table even they charged 100 service fees. Final bill is $620 for two ppl not worth it at all. I rather use the money to other fine dining at least they give me a sparkle candle for birthday. bad experience. Won’t come back
Regan Bourland: We had a wonderful dinner experience at the Supper Club with friends. The bill was steep, but we knew what we were signing up for, and it was worth every penny. There was an excellent pianist and the service was top notch. You absolutely must get the fried chicken. You won't be disappointed.Vegetarian options: Plenty of options on the menu for everyone
Jayne Vernon: Went with 7 others on a Saturday night. Music was too loud to enjoy. Our server was not friendly nor very helpful. Had a great drink before our table was ready, asked server for another prepared the same way. He looked confused, we told him which bartender made it and what was different. He didn’t take the time, so the drink wasn’t what I wanted. Food was good, although would have been nice having some semblance of a three course meal if the food came out the way the menu is organized. Sourdough bread, should not come out last. And lastly, it is annoying to have the server point out although 20% is already added for a large group you can always add more. We’re adults, we know that. If your service was better perhaps we would have

Affäre: what do users think?
Patrick Walker: A nice, updated take on the typical schnitzel and sausage fare you typically find in German restaurants. The brat trio was delicately flavored and nicely sauced. Preferable to the seafood risotto dish, which was competently executed, but nothing beyond what you’d find in another good local restaurant. The Painted Table dessert was remarkable in sweet flavors and in flame-illuminated presentation. Truly unique.
Jess Len: WOW. WOW. WOW. Enough said! Wow! The food was amazing! Came here on a Saturday evening as a lovely double date night and we were all so impressed! Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for the BEST German food! Thank you for such a great experience and I cannot wait to come back and have some more!

James Symmonds: Looks like it would be a nice date spot. Bartenders are really nice and the owners are around. Update: I still have yet to have a date to bring in but it would still be a good date place.
Brit Ann: Truly a treat to go to Affare. You definitely don't get the chain vibe from this place that even some of the more high end places give off around KC which is nice. Service was amazing and the food was great. High quality ingredients with mixtures of flavors that you don't expect and they still somehow taste amazing together. We got the Hummer Poutine, Risotto von Meeresfruchten, and Jakobsmuscheln mit Entenleber. It all was so good - loved the seafood. I'd probably go for a lighter starter next time but we were curious about lobster poutine.
Brent Sear: came to affare for a baby shower. the outdoor courtyard is great.

Sherry Smith: I would give this restaurant 100 stars. The food is excellent. The Jager Schnitzel was crispy and the meat was tender. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. Woodsie Woods: First time and it was great. Ordered off their new seasonal “white asparagus” menu. The white asparagus soup had a nice deep flavor but was a tad too salty. I was very excited to see morel mushrooms on the menu with the white asparagus and morel mushroom spatzle. This dish had a nice sherry cream sauce, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the morel mushrooms. Overall pleased with the quality, especially with these recipes being a fairly new addition.
Racheal Soendker: Truly one of the best restaurants in KC. Make a reservation to ensure you can be seated. Especially on the weekends. This is not a place to go if you are I'm a rush. They know how to time the dishes so you are sure to be finished with appetizers before the next course is brought out. They give you time to enjoy each course. If you choose to do a bottle of wine, the server is good about coming back to pour it timely. And the food is amazing. If you can, make sure you get there in the spring for the white asparagus menu. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Shiona Deliozar: The service was excellent and the staff was really awesome and attentive. We thought the tasting menu itself was pretty average for the price. Everything tasted fresh but kind of lackluster, especially the apps and dessert and the Black Forest cake didn’t really have the layer of cherries like it’s supposed to. Still happy to try the place out with my hubby for my birthday dinner. We spent around $150 and left very full and satisfied.
Daniel Purdom: Not really a review (always 5 🌟). Free parking at 1801 Walnut St by the Community America branch and covered garage parking around the corner at Corrigan Station Garage. 1827 Walnut St, Kansas City, MO 64108 for $5
Eunice P: The tartar was very yummy though a bit too salty. The veal schnitzel was dry, overdone, and a bit bland and the condiments and cucumber salad too sour. The beef roulade was like fancy meat loaf and tasted okay. The cabbage was delicious, but, again, a bit on the sour side considering it took up the majority of the plate. The drinks, vibe, and service were fantastic. I would have rated this a 4/5 but one of our party had stomach issues after eating the beef roulade and cabbage. I may give this place another try, but probably not for a while.
Victoria Salinas: Enjoyed a wonderful meal! The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was exceptional.
Peggy Lukken: The food is authentic German fare, freshly made and delicious. As always, the service was on point, with knowledgeable and attentive servers.
