Food was great, presentation was impressive, and portion sizes were large.Understanding we dined during a busy dinner time on a weekend, the servers seemed overworked and some of the dishes came out a little colder than expected. But the taste was still delicious, and we’d certainly be back to give it a second try.
Maugan Ra: A friend came from out of town and loves to try new food. She found Novel and we went. The waiter was prompt and personable (and even recognized my scientist nerd music from my Spotify, which hadn't turned off.) We had the steak tartare, which was fantastic and the fried potatoes... The curry spiced ketchup was insanely good. Friday night at 7 pm, there were plenty of customers but not overcrowded. I will definitely suggest it to my locals.

A S: Easy to miss driving but worth making the trip in. Limited menu but very good options. Highly recommend the pork chop which I wouldn't normally order but glad it was recommended to me. On the spicy side but was asked ahead of time with warning and they were right. The apps are okay but I'll skip next time.I'll have this on my short list to bring visitors for something off the beaten path.
Melissa Davis: This restaurant was stellar! The service was impeccable every step of the way. Every item we ordered was next level. We started with the crispy farm egg and then the spring ravioli. Both were excellent. I had the KC strip for my main course and it did not disappoint. It was served with the best carrots I've ever had and I'm typically indifferent about carrots. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Megan Anderson: One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City! If you are a foodie as we are, you will certainly find dishes unlike anything you have had before. We leave every time excited about numerous dishes and trying things we never would have considered. For example, SWEETBREADS, they make them absolutely divine. I love that everyday we walk through the doors that the menu is brand new and inventive! We love sitting at the bar near the kitchen so we can watch everyone channel their creative skills. A must try!
Shai Mason: Hands down the best food and service I have received. I will definitely be stopping in Kansas City just to eat here. Big props to Drew and Chris for making me and my friend feel welcomed even though we strolled in near the end of service. The food was immaculate and the kindness and down-to-earth nature of the people working at the Antler Room is refreshing. Charles Franklin: Our family joined my wife and me to celebrate our anniversary. We had been here before and were somewhat familiar. The dishes are seasonal, so you may not get something you had before. We ordered one of everything and split it. They put their touch on every dish, and it is delicious. Katie was our server, and she was attentive to us. She kept our drinks charged and plates and silverware clean.
Jessica Hazlett: I went in not knowing what to expect, so I was very worried when I found out it was a family-style serving situation, especially considering the small dishes I'd seen in reviews. Sharing the small (delicious) dishes among 4 people definitely left us wanting more, but by the end of the last course I was full. Not overstuffed, not too full to walk, but satisfied, which I very much prefer. I loved it, but if I were to go back, I would probably stick with a party of 2 instead of 4.

Darrell Loo: The Antler Room is my favorite restaurant in town, and as always, my recent visit on Thursday didn't disappoint. I had just returned to town and was eager to relax in a comfortable atmosphere. Settling at the bar with a delightful glass of wine, I perused the seasonal menu with anticipation.My meal began with the irresistible Nori Shokupan, a must-have staple whenever I spot it on the menu. I continued with the Romanesco dish, featuring golden hummus, anchovy brown butter, crispy chickpeas, and anchovies. This flavorful dish showcased fresh, delectable vegetables. Another standout was the Cucumber dish with smoked salmavocado, tahini sauce, and buckwheat lavosh in a rose vinaigrette. This simple, refreshing dish was beautifully balanced by the vinaigrette.Next, I savored the Pan-Roasted Veal Sweetbreads, accompanied by beef tallow whipped potatoes, endive, white wine mustard sauce, croutons, capers, and rosemary. This hearty, comforting dish was a delight. I also enjoyed the Seared Duck Breast, served with fried sunchokes, local spinach, ravigote, and umeaboshi plum jus. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the sweet umeaboshi plum jus perfectly complemented the dish.To conclude my meal, I couldn't resist the Coconut Panna Cotta with pandan ice cream, mango sauce, and caramel tuille. This light, refreshing dessert, reminiscent of spring, provided the ideal ending to my dining experience.
Warda Shafi: I always prefer better quality food in small plates over mediocre food piled on the plates. I had the haddock with bok choy, sushi rice, caviar, and mushrooms. The dish was a little soupy, always a plus for me since I'm a huge soup fan. The food was delicious and looked wonderful, and I could tell the ingredients were of high quality, always a delight. This was a hearty meal, all the while very light on the stomach.
Mark Steele: Really impressive meal in quaint neighborhood of Kansas City. I was recommended here by a local foodie...and their level escalated a few notches.Not a immensely large menu, but quality and thought out.This was my last stop before airport, so only got to enjoy a few items:- Rabbit and Kale Tortellini- Veal SweetbreadBoth were easily paired with a wine by the glass.Everything is well valued, too.Bartender knew his selections and pairings well.My only regret is that I didn't have enough time to enjoy more.Well done to the team. Experiences like this happen only with commitment and leadership at the top.Be smart and assure you stop here. If I lived in vicinity, it'd be a bi-weekly trip.

Shekinah S.: I have mixed feelings about this place. I loved the food every time I have came and the music is usually good. But the service and drinks have been hit or miss. It seems to depend on who is there. One thing I will say is being drunk on the job is unacceptable in any in environment and being defensive when a customer vocalizes something wasn't right is never okay and it takes away from all the good. Besides the unprofessionalism on a select few, this place is great.

Angel Lewis: I really wanted to like this spot. I had followed them on Instagram awhile back and the atmosphere and rooftop bar looked great; however, the view was probably the only good part about this place. Firstly, the menus our waitress brought over were ripped and dingy paper menus. My man and I ordered two drinks: a beach martini and a peach smoked margarita... she brought back over 2 lime margaritas. After telling her she got the wrong drinks she said "well we're out of peach"... sis, that's something you say beforehand. You don't just guess what someone wants. My man kept his drink and she grabbed me the beach martini which tasted like straight koolaid. We then ordered the deviled eggs and crab bites. Both were very mid and they brought them out in to go boxes ?? The waitress asked if we wanted to start a tab, my boyfriend handed the card over, and she just charged it immediately and didn't even bring over the ticket for a tip. We had to ask the bartender for the ticket. My boyfriends a sweet man and insisted on tipping, but if I were alone I'd probably not tip at all. When she brought the ticket over she just stood at the table and watched while my man filled out the ticket. Overall, the service was horrendous and that waitress needs to be fired. I wasn't sure if her behavior was because we were a black couple and she's a white woman or if she was really just that incompetent. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

MisterMister Mizzle: This is not Canary KC. The server informed us that the change from Canary to Boho Sway at Canary was made in December (2022). Soon as we walked in I noticed the place lacked aesthetics. My girlfriend told me there were two all gender bathrooms and that they didn't have locks on the doors. I responded asking if there were stalls and she said there WEREN'T. So someone can just walk in on your lady while she's doing her business. Don't be fooled by images of the previous restaurant's menu online. We look at the paper menus and they were completely different and nothing even looked good. We ordered the salmon tacos and the Brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts were ok at best, but in their defense, most brussels are too greasy (as these ones were). These were too salty as well. The salmon tacos were good but you only get three little tacos for like fifteen bucks, and I didn't understand they were served cold. This is my attempt at giving a decent review but I just looked at their website and I can't even find a menu there. What does that tell you. This place blows. I bet all the food pictures are of the last restaurant.

Alex Hunter: First time here for a birthday. Had a party reservation for 8 but only 6 showed up. Got charged 20% for gratuity for a big party. Could have taken off the charge since only 6 showed up. Food was way too expensive for what it tasted. Had an assortment of starters and entrees. It looked really good, but taste was mediocre at best. Service was good but food and drink could have been better. Also was really slow for drink service.
Radmila Helms: Do not recommend anymore. Horrible service, unprofessional and slow. Couldn’t find the person to take us upstairs to the rooftop, key fob wasn’t working. Once we got to the rooftop, the fire pit wasn’t working, music was very quiet almost not there and slow service. Went back downstairs to the bar area since the rooftop area not the vibe and our service even at the bar was slow. Server had to ask us twice within 5 min what drinks we ordered. Drinks themselves were good and food is good but this place is not what it used to be over a year ago.

Avery Epstein: The food was fantastic. We did not know what to expect but everyone enjoyed their meal. I got the pork/pork belly, and the meat was cooked perfectly. My stepmother doesn't really eat red meat, but she said if she lived in KC, she would come back every month just to eat the Friday special (she is from Chicago). mindy griffin: Parlor is unique. The first level reminds me of a chic hotel lobby or upsale airport lounge area with a bar. The upstairs feels like a mall food court with a rooftop bar area. It was a great spot for my family to get together and celebrate my nieces college graduation. We enjoyed trying out each other's food choices. It was also a good place for my friends and I to eat dinner before going out to play arcade games at Up Down. My favorite food I've tried is the Korean BBQ fries from sliders. They give you big portion for the money and are very filling. My friends liked the chicken Swarma salad at Sidos Mediterranean. The rice cakes from Sura Eats were pretty good.

It was a Monday night and we didn’t have a reservation, so the host sat us up at the bar. Really not even worth mentioning except it was at the very end right next to the service well so it was a little distracting at times. The menu is New American/Italian/Asian fusion. We took recommendations from our server who may have been the floor manager. She helped us navigate the menu and we ended up ordering seaweed doughnut and crispy pork ribs to start. The seaweed doughnuts were decadent, think savory beignets with hint of seaweed smeared with a trout roe crema. The flavors of the crispy pork ribs heavily reminded me of a Vietnamese dish, bun cha. Next we had spicy strozzapretti and XO fried rice. The strozzapretti definitely stole the show, both of our favorite for the night. So much so we ordered a second. We still had a little room after so we asked for another suggestion and landed on the mushroom burger. It wasn’t a patty like I had expected, but more akin to a mushroom sloppy joe. And the picture is a small bouquet I paid for 75 plus service fee and taxes. This place is way over priced. And the girl server give me a feeling that she doesn’t even want to serve our table even they charged 100 service fees. Final bill is $620 for two ppl not worth it at all. Sam Coyle: Second time visiting Voltaire but it was our first time eating here. Voltaire did not disappoint. First off, you can't go wrong with any of their cocktails. I always order a margarita which isn't on the menu but its always so refreshing + not sugary! But my favorite cocktail I have ever had is their espresso martini. It is probably one of my most favorite ones I have ever had.Food? Woah... where do I even begin? We started with a few apps to get us going! We started with the dumplings, mussels and two sides of fries to split between 6 of us. The mussels were my favorite. I'd also like to add that the amount of mussels are very large. Like much larger than you would normally get at a smaller plate type restaurant. Every entrée we ordered was also spectacular. The service was a little on the slow side but the food + cocktails made up for it!

My friend had a mixed drink and received hers instantly. When it came time for dessert. The server let someone at our table order, And when I tried to point to what I wanted. She grabbed the menu from me. I pulled it back twice before I just let go and said forget it. I also wanted to order another drink. But she ignored me and walked off. My daughter asked me after leaving if I knew her and had done something to her in the past for her to act like that. It was completely confusing. I'd go again but will sit at the bar.
