Makenzie Kalachik: Me and my husband come here quite often for lunch. The food is fantastic the best (and some of the only) Pho you can find in Southwest MO. The Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, and Chicken Pho are our favorites. Why I am rating 4 stars is due to the cigarette smell, but it is not necessarily their fault. There is a smoke shop just two stores down that allows smoking in the building, and that sells all sorts tobacco products. We came in on a nice day and they had their door open and fans on and the smell was nowhere near as bad. The restaurant could use a deep clean too, and a decor update. But overall good food, good service. It’s one of our favorite take out options, and lunch in place on a nice day.

I had to make this review, because I’ve been historically a longtime fan of Bambu.I’ve done my best to give them the benefit of the doubt over the last several visits, however, I can no longer.Over the last three years, I’ve seen the quality of their service and food greatly diminished.When I dine in, they are constantly short, staffed, poorly, trained, and very long wait times.When I order takeout, they’ve got my order wrong the last three times, and they make it a huge pain to get a refund for their mistakes.I understand the restaurant industry is challenging; it’s hard to find a talent, and turnover rates are very high, but other quality restaurant seem to manage just fine.Bambu was once a great restaurant, but it’s “heyday” has come and gone.
Woodpecker Peckswood: we come from years of Pho eating on the West Coast. we have tried a few places in town. this place offers the best so far for us. the spring rolls are amazing with both beef and shrimp and the peanut sauce is very well made. they provide the right amount of side herbs for the Pho. I did taste the broth to be on the salty side as each bite I took thats what came to my mind. My real dislikes are the fact the portions are so huge. One person can hardly eat an enormous bowl and they only offer one enormous size. which leads to left over food wasted because most people don't take the soup home afterwards. Prices, well to compare about 2 years ago the cost for Pho and Springrolls for two people would cost less than $25. but now you pay $40 for the same, except much is wasted here because its too large. They need to offer a normal size bowl. And then of course the smoke filled the restaurant like many other reviews mentioned but after a few minutes we didn't even notice it. Very cute and spacious inside. Typical Vietnamese decor. Two servers were kind and attentive. We are hoping to try more from the menu here when we can. We also just had water.

Anthony Ozarks Concrete Coatings: Worst meal I have had in Springfield. Smelled like cigarettes walking in the door, spring rolls almost choked me. Went for a Birthday and everyone's food was bad, ordered BBQ beef but every piece was grisly and fat couldn't even chew. Egg rolls were burnt and cold at the same time. Save your money and skip this place

CS: My boyfriend and I both got the vegan pho, it was SO good and tasted really fresh. Very filling and reasonably priced. Kim, the owner came and checked on us to see how our food was and told us a little bit about the food. She’s very polite and kind. Our server also did great and he was on top of everything we needed. 10/10 would recommend and will be frequenting. :)

Addy Howard: Anytime we make it to the mall we have to eat here. My favorite place to get chicken teriyaki (I don’t think it’s your traditional teriyaki sauce). I always get chicken teriyaki with the noodles and veggies. Never disappoints

My stomach has been churning ever since. I've read a few of these reviews after yesterday's food and now I understand why, they used to be really good but the service has gone downhill. Cassie Heimann: Price of pork fried rice is double the advertised price. Hardly any pork in the fried rice. Found 3 tiny strips of pork. Crab Rangoon was old. Won't go back.
RipVanAllan 1983: I was told about how this place served authentic Chinese food and I wanted to check them out. I ordered the Chef Special Bourbon Steak with Fried rice, Pork Intestines with Onions and the Pot Stickers. I loved all of it, there is some spice to the Bourbon Steak from the pepper in the dish and the Pork Intestines had red pepper in it. Overall I liked both dishes, and I loved the Pot Stickers, they were my favorite of the three. I will be back to try more authentic Chinese dishes.

Dewayne Wade: My wife Googled top Asian restaurants and off we went. It's kinda a hole in the wall in what used to be an upscale area. I love General Tso's chicken. I got the large for my wife and I to go. There was about a cup and 1/4 or 1/2 of fried rice and 2 crab Rangoon included. I'm all about the sauce, and I loved this sauce....color, taste, and texture....oh I won't forget "amount" ! I have to have enough extra sauce to sop up the rice.

I wouldn't say it's THE best, but it's up there, top 3 for sure. It's a great option if you're trying this local classic and want have the gold-standard experience. The cashew sauce has excellent flavor, hewing close to Leong's original recipe I believe. Canton Inn or Leong's both tend to be the places you take someone who's new to the area to try Cashew Chicken for the first time -- in fact, it's Canton Inn most often due to it's convenient location close to another local must-have experience, Bass Pro Shop. It tends to be busy as a result.
