Charlotte Hatch: This was our first CarMax experience. We paid shipping for a Kia Sedona to come from Mobile, AL to Spfld, MO. After over 2 weeks of waiting, and multiple attempts at contact to find out when the vehicle would be ready to see, we finally visited the vehicle in person. We had dual appraisal and test drive appointments.Interior and exterior had not been detailed at all. We could see the exterior had been "washed" but it looked more like a garden hose job as dirt and dust was still evident in midline streaks all around the vehicle. The inner frame where doors open and close also had dirt on it so our family got dirty getting in and out. We could not open the the back hatch to inspect the cargo area and lay down 3rd row seats due to the vehicle being parked so close to the parking pole.Upon inspecting underneath we saw the van possibly had a slow oil leak or oil was spilled when doing the oil change but we saw no signs of a spill under the hood, leading us to believe it was indeed a proper oil leak. This should have been found and corrected properly before it was available to customers.An oil leak is a huge deal in our book and detailing is standard, even in the used car industry.Tires were old and should have been replaced with something that had at least half tread left. My family also noted many scratches on the exterior. Two were deep and could have been filled.Test drive was fine but the obvious lack of care for the vehicle overshadowed everything else and only one adult drove. At that point, it was just a comparison test since we knew were were moving on yet had not driven a Sedona up to that point, and we knew we would not be making a purchase due to possible mechanical issues.For the price point, we expected better. For the positive reputation CarMax seems to have garnered, we expected better.Washing, drying & detailing and proper mechanical review is basic care. Making certain customers can enter & exit a vehicle without getting dirt on their clothing is non negotiable. Ensuring the vehicle can be opened and inspected from all angles is paramount.CarMax had a golden opportunity with us and they missed the mark.Overall, our first experience with CarMax was disappointing. We certainly are not eager to do it again and have shared with our family and friends our poor experience.The one bright spot was the salesman or customer specialist. He was courteous and kind. He took time to speak with with each family member, pulled out chairs for us, engaged in proper small talk that felt natural and was down to earth. He didn't push and we left feeling sorry for him with so much personal potential wasted working at CarMax.It is not his fault the company is not concerned about quality vehicle care.

charles carpenter: We were vacationing in Branson when our 2016 Acura MDX had problems with the battery and a computer program. As a result we were not able to drive or put the car into gear. Called Aaron, the service manager at the Springfield Acura...he was very helpful. We had the car towed to Springfield and he was able to diagnose the problem and fix it with a new battery and an update on a computer program that was on a recall. He made a special effort to get it done in one day so we were able to leave without delay. This type of service isn't easily found. Thanks to Aaron for getting us in so quickly and back on the road!

Brian Newton: I’m really tired of getting all these surveys after getting an oil change. You did ok, that’s the bottom line. Nothing outstanding, nothing terrible.I would say the things to work on are 1) the price of an oil change is extremely high - the only reason I have my car serviced at Reliable is because it’s a Chevrolet and I trust the mechanics more than at a general shop. 2) It would be nice to have an advisor come speak to the customer rather than doing business through text messages. Not all of us are 22 y/o - some of us actually still prefer face-to-face human interaction and being told of what is going on with the vehicle. 3) Free bottles of water would be nice, especially in the summertime. My wife has her car serviced at Pinegar Honda and they provide free water and snacks for customers, not to mention the price for an oil change is significantly lower. Just some food for thought - you want to know what to work on, there you go.

random person: Not usually the person who writes reviews, however I feel this needs to be said! Do NOT purchase here if you want to finance your vehicle through any other company but theirs. They said they did not allow outside financing, and we asked to speak with the manager and they made an exception. However they still wanted to run me on my credit to see if their rates compared, which I denied because I didn’t want it to impact my score, and I knew my rates were good with the credit union. Initially I was told $300 would be taken off, and the tire package add on for $800 was “optional”. However after going outside to make a decision to purchase the vehicle, with all intentions of doing so, we came back in to a non negotiable price, and and added $800 tire package that was not “optional” because we were not financing with them. Which is exactly what we were told after being told it was optional!I then denied the offer and left due to this. I work in insurance, and marketing, and I know the rates are high. However, financing somewhere else is NOT an option!! Unless you want to pay WAY more!After totaling my car and going through an extremely traumatic accident, I was shocked to be treated like this. I’m also younger and felt I was being pushed into something because of this. I understand high inflation, but marketing is about doing what is best for each customer!In all respects, Chris was a great marketer, however, management needs to be more considerate of the right of choice!!

Peter Kubla: Well folks it wasn't good. I got charged $1229.66 for a set of valve cover gaskets and a new water pump. When I got the car back it still leaked oil and for some reason it wouldn't idle. Kept dying. Come to find out by myself that the mechanic didn't put the intake back correctly. Had to fix that myself. Took it back the following week. They kept it for a week and said that they couldn't do anything more. So, after all that, the car still leaks oil and I lost all that hard earned money. Didn't get any refund. Would not recommend this place even to my ex wife. Very Very disappointed.

A B: To start off this will be a long review with some bad and the good being towards the end. I called reliable Toyota after purchasing my vehicle to let them know I was not able to license my vehicle because white out had been used on the certificate of origin. The title employee I spoke with denied that Reliable would ever do that and simply accused me of doing the white out. Once this employee chose to look up my information she indeed found that one of their title clerks had messed up the title and used white out! I don’t appreciate being accused of a mistake they made.Now to a brighter note. I loved my shopping experience and the agent who sold me my car was phenomenal. It was really just a pleasant time all around. I do think they can be very pushy when it comes to getting you to give a review. I also think they are very pushy when it comes to you getting an extended warranty or not and getting their Zak Tech. I do love my car and would buy a car from here again. I’m just glad I now know what could go wrong and what to make sure and look for in the future!
