International Institute of Southwest Missouri: what do users think?
Natalya Abubakirova: Great workers and a big help for people. But the building doesn’t look safe. We appreciate Diana’s help with benefits and documents. She can speak Ukrainian, Russian and English and she is sweet in communication. Дуже вдячні організаторам закладу за допомогу і супровід людям, які самостійно не можуть собі допомогти. Це важливо для людей, які тільки нещодавно в США і не мають фінансової можливості оплачувати послуги по роботі з документами.
Leslie: This organization provides an amazing service to our refugee families by welcoming them to our community, helping them integrate by way of employment and school, and connecting them to other resources they might need. IISMO is the first ‘face’ they see when arriving and then guides them through the paperwork process to get set up with housing, jobs, school, church, and health care. They do it all with an amazing, caring staff whose main goal is to create a new home for these families and give them a sense of belonging in a new culture and country. I’ve seen them at work and so appreciate the perspective, friendship, and supporting hand they offer to our new friends!
Lois Olena: It has been my privilege to partner with IISMO since 2017 as they welcome new Americans and help to empower them for life in a new country. They are compassionate, diligent, consistent, careful, and truly love the people they serve and are growing together with. If you are looking for a place to be involved with refugees in Springfield, Missouri--this is the place!

CMN R: This is the same review I left on their facebook page, I am putting it here because facebook has recently made changes to their reviews and you can't find any negative reviews if you search for them. It is set up to only favor positive recommendations. I drove over there to drop off my 2 girls age 16 and 17 to volunteer w a church group. This date had been scheduled for their group for at least a couple of weeks. I signed a consent form last summer, not even a year ago. I didn't know if they would need to sign another one or not, so I told them to go to the door and ask someone for the form so I could sign it and leave. (I had my son with me and could not leave him in the car alone.) My oldest went to the door and no one would let her in. She just kept ringing the bell until I guess someone was annoyed enough to come see about it. This woman would not even open the door to speak to her, guess she was afraid of a disease? So my daughter asks her for a permission form, and the woman says they don't have any. Seriously? She wouldn't give her one! We were 20 min early for the arrival time we were given, which I didn't think was that big of a deal. I figured they had a waiting area at least. I told my daughter that probably the form I signed last summer would work since it hadn't even been a year. I had to leave and could not stay any longer. I drove home and they eventually let my girls in the building, (was 40F outside, but no one there cares). They called me and said they had to have me come sign the form or I had to come and get them. I said I would just come and get them after their dad got home. I already unloaded my son and knew I couldn't get him back in the van (he is 21, but has a mental disability). My oldest handed the phone to the same woman who didn't help us earlier. I told her I was just there 30 mins ago and tried to sign a form and you refused to give us one! She said well we didn't have them printed off yet. Oh, that would have took a really long time I suppose. I said well is there a specific form for each group that comes, she said no just a form for Tuesdays. I said well there are 52 Tuesdays every year, so start printing some off for next week. I told her this was poor management. To wait to the last min and not have anything ready and then be RUDE to volunteers. I went and got my kids and they won't be returning. It is volunteering- a gift horse, which they should be thankful for. Suppose a parent needs to go out of town and comes by to sign a form a few days before their kid is scheduled? I guess they don't need help very badly. UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER- So here we are one year later, my oldest daughter is now 19 and is doing an internship here in town at a medical facility. Her church group was volunteering at Convoy tonight, and since she is apparently much more forgiving than me (?) she decided to meet up with them after she got off from her internship. However she couldn't be there at the time they were starting so decided to come anyway even though she'd late. The door was locked so she rang the bell for someone to let her in, and they refused to let her in. She tried calling and no one will answer. So she has to find a ride now, (friend was dropping her off there), and she is locked outside in 20F weather. This is the snottiest group of folks, I can't believe this! Don't waste your time on these people, they clearly don't need help!
erin dalbey-rangel: If you want to volunteer, you can go to their warehouse on Tuesday nights to help with different projects.
Sarah Gardner: Very welcome to newcomers, very friendly people. Pretty easy tasks to do but it goes a long way #convoyofhope #volunteer
Olierra Ravenheart: A great organization and a fun place to volunteer!
