Robert Anderson: If I could rate this company a -5 star I would. I’m hoping the owner of this business calls me to remedy my concern. I’m not going to float the laundry, just know these are not the best of people, and there are many many other furniture stores in the area that deserve the business, and will actually cater to your needs and concerns. I should have never given them a shot considering the amount of reviews in comparison to others in the area. This will be the last time I make this mistake.
Christopher Saul: I have been eyeing and researching the Herman Miller Embody chair for many months; with many online options and the high price tag, I felt uncomfortable taking my chances online. However, it’s not the chair you can pick up at your local Office Depot. Centro Modern Furnishings is one of the few local locations that carry Herman Miller chairs, so I decided to stop by and try it out. When I arrived, I received a warm welcome from Ginny, who was very welcoming and knowledgeable, walked me through all the Embody options, and gave me a great tutorial on the chair. I'm very happy with my customized chair and the experience. My special order arrived ahead of schedule, they quality checked it and assisted me with loading it into my vehicle. I highly recommend Centro Modern Furnishings for anyone considering a new Herman Miller office chair. Way better experience than ordering online, great price too! Very cool store and lots of interesting pieces!

Corey Diehl: I meant to write this review a few months ago. Centro Modern Furnishings service and support was absolutely phenomenal! I found them when looking for a Herman Miller office chair while working from home, and they were incredibly helpful explaining the different features and sizing of the chairs, and even let me know of an upcoming seasonal sale so I could wait for better pricing.Something to be aware of, even though they are a licensed Herman Miller furniture dealer, Herman Miller themselves do not extend their 30 day return policy to chairs sold via a dealer, and only on chairs purchased directly through Herman Miller themselves online. While Centro was able to offer better pricing than buying direct, and the chair is still covered under HM's 12 year warrantee, this is something to consider if you aren't 100% ready to buy.Despite this, if you are ready to buy, they offer very competitive pricing on new Herman Miller office furniture, and they have a wonderful showroom if you are looking to test sit the various Herman Miller chairs. I can't recommend them highly enough for going above and beyond!

We were recent first-time customers at Centro and Ginny, Steve, and Todd were so incredibly helpful in finding us exactly what we wanted. Our ordering process took some time, as we were hoping to get a piece custom-upholstered in a discontinued fabric. That said, the folks at Centro had us ready to go with multiple backup options in case it didn't work out. They took care of everything with the manufacturer, kept us updated throughout, and our gorgeous ottoman came in last week!Our experience with Centro was excellent and I highly recommend their beautiful store.

We ordered two Herman Miller Embody chairs from Todd in August, he waited patiently while we sat in all of the Herman Miller chairs they had at the store (I was unsure of which chair I wanted), and then worked with us even more to choose the exact custom made chairs we desired (since we wanted our chairs to match, he helped my husband and I make some tough decisions, which color of fabric, base, etc).When the chairs arrived at the store, we were notified immediately. When we went to pick them up, they were already put together for us, packaging left on them carefully to ensure safe transport, and placed in our car for us. We had an excellent experience with Centro, and cannot recommend them enough. We love shopping local, and are so thrilled to have found this wonderful store.

Michael Glasier: Bought a dining set yesterday. I knew it wasn't the best quality, but after just one day some spilled water has destroyed the table top. There's three spots like the pic. Had I known it was this low quality l would have gotten the one that's half this price elsewhere.

Savannah: We ended up buying a sectional and recliner here after shopping at several different stores in the area. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We were probably in and out within 30 minutes and the set is soo comfortable, not to mention affordable. Plus, it was delivered the very next day! There even a minor issue with one cushion when it was delivered (through no fault of the store owner) and he still replaced the cushion the very next day. I would highly recommend a Home Xpressions to anyone needing furniture!
Jessie McCain: Looked for couches for weeks. Found a sofa and loveseat my husband and I really liked here. We bought it and were so excited to put it in our new house. Unfortunately we didn’t measure our space properly and there was no logical way to get them to both fit. I called immediately and asked what our options were and apparently there are none. Was told it says final sale on the invoice which is kinda weird to put it on the paperwork after you already make the purchase. Was hoping they would be willing to work with us, maybe give us in store credit so the money still stays within their store but they had no interest in doing that. Our furniture was also delivered a week late and was missing a power cord to one of the sofas but they got very defensive when I brought that up. I should’ve asked more questions up front I guess. Was hoping to shop here again in the future, but after our experience we will probably not be back as this ended up being pretty disappointing for us. The store has a decent selection, but before you buy make sure you absolutely love it, it will fit, and ask all the questions before purchasing because once you give them your money you can’t go back.

There’s a nice selection of a wide variety of couches and tables! Prices seem in line with other value stores. I would come back for my next furniture need.

The location is great and not difficult to find, the products are luxurious and the prices are out of the park affordable. Just walked out of the store an hour ago and had to write a review to share that this is first option for all furniture finds to go to. The men there are very kind and cared to make sure me and my mom knew where to go for what we were looking for and they made it their priority to check other options to make sure they were accessible if they were not in stock on certain things (most of which they had in stock). When you give this place a chance, you'll never doubt your decision. 5 STARS!
Kyle Menges: I could not recommend this place more. Sam was an unbelievable salesman, professional and extremely helpful. After shopping around for weeks in hopes of finding things in stock and not 6-8 weeks out, he had everything in stock, and much of that was what was out of stock at other stores. The furniture is all from Ashley so you know what you are getting and I was even able to use the financing option that Ashley provides. Again, Sam was an awesome guy and helped us get exactly what we wanted in two days.

Peggy Weltmer: My husband and I were interested in new custom furniture for our family room. I have purchased several small items from Shuberts in the past (lamp, end table) and found them to be good quality items so I went back into the store to purchase a sofa and a pair of swivel chairs. We ordered from the Stickley Line which we considered high end and well constructed furniture, but it came with a high price! That would not have bothered me if we were happy with the purchase but we were not!First, I don’t think the sales people are decorators or designers. We wanted “firm seating” and were happy with the feel of the showroom sofa sample, The sofa delivered was stuffed with down feathers which was very soft and after a month of use, we noticed sagging in the areas we sat in most. Plus, my husband is allergic to down feathers and couldn’t sit on the sofa without getting a reaction. When I brought this to the attention of our sales woman her response was “well, that’s what you ordered”. I reminded her we wanted firm seating and down is not firm. I was told that they would re-stuff the cushions with a firm foam but it would cost me approximately $1,300.00 more! I had already spent around $15,000.00 for the sofa and chairs!The chairs are another issue. They were in another part of the store, not next to the sofa. We didn’t realize until they were in our home that the chairs seating height is around 6 inches shorter than the sofa! The sales person should have known that these were not a complementary seating arrangement.These concerns were expressed to the sales person who told me, “no refunds, all sales are final and I signed the contract”. The store requires you to sign the 2 page contract and pay 50% deposit NON-REFUNDABLE. I asked to speak to the manager (not available) and I have yet to hear from anyone about my concerns. That was almost 2 years ago!

Yizhong Wang: I purchased a set of study room furniture 20 years ago, I am still waiting for the drawer knobs. I called and went to the store and complained to the BBB. Both Mr. Shubert and the other female manager confirmed me that they shipped the knobs. They firmly stated they had shipped verbally and in writing response to the BBB. But where are they? A very simple issue, but they both behaved that I'm a liar and I should go out of the door. Never been treated like that as a customer.Still not happy 20 years later. My son was just born that time and busy at work. so, I forgot it for a while until things slowed down and saw the mismatching door knobs the other day. I'm sure that I'll miss the knobs for my whole life, and they won't change a bit of their opinion that I'm a liar.

I told her no as I was preparing to leave the store.She turned to another seated female and inquired, " I thought you were going to help her?" The other female responds, I am doing an important project.I observed three seated staff members and another walking around with a customer. I have been curious about this store and that is no longer an issue.

Jen Severado: CONSUMER BEWARE!! Shubert Design will STEAL your money!!In February 2020, I purchased a 63" oval table and 4 chairs that was a floor model on clearance for $1399 plus $95 for delivery. However, after returning home and measuring our space again we realized it would not fit. I called Shubert and was told I could not cancel my order because it was a final sale. So I agreed to purchase a smaller yet more expensive table and that did not come with chairs. They told me the table was shipping from Las Vegas and would arrive in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks I tried to contact Shubert and received an automated email stating they were closed for COVID. I understood and waited patiently for 3 more months until the end of May to inquire again.At that time the office manager Kirsten Wyman told me that the table was no longer for sale and I could order one to be built from scratch but it might take months to get it would cost even more money.I was SHOCKED that Shubert sold me a table that was not theirs to sell in the first place and moreover never contacted me to tell me. At this point I did not trust they were being honest and requested my money back. They REFUSED! stating that because I signed a no return clause they did not have to give me my money back. The manager actually hung up on me and they have not responded to any of my emails since. They stole over $1400 from me and my family. To this day I still have not received a table or a refund.Very disappointing, Jennifer Severado

Tony Chien: The store had a lot of high quality furniture. The store was clean and not difficult to find. Staff was friendly and professional. There were discount on several items in the store. They are one of few store in St Louis that still sell genuine leather furniture. They had several Natuzzi leather sofa and couch. I ended up bought a set from them. I was happy with their service.

From the moment she welcomed us when we ‘wandered in’ to browse, and she came to our home to measure, and she quickly provided recommendations for furniture and fabrics that are excellent. She perfectly aligned our taste with her recommendations. We’ve browsed every showroom in STL, and Shubert’s selection is the best. PLUS, Farida was able to order items for us that I had seen in interior decorating magazines, and we purchased them with Shubert’s discount. Farida is very impressive.

ONE EYE WILLYS: This was our second furniture store stop for the day to see the selection. Salesman was rude and acted like i was crazy for commenting on how the recliner shook side to side at the feet. Furniture was priced over double the cost of a similar set we priced at ashley homestore and felt like it wasn't half the quality.

Everyone has their perfect recliner in mind, it's just finding the one you like. There are a lot of choices and I found the perfect one. Amela helped with all the important features and warranties. I wanted a different color leather, no problem except the leather will need to be ordered and recliner made. All paperwork was completed with adequate discounts applied. I'm happy and the three month wait is no problem for me. This is all I can rate at this time and a future review will be given after receiving the chairs.
