Gateway Spaces Property Management: what do users think?
Jaime Scaggs: No properties available
Kim Smith: Wonderful house, clean, well decorated, comfy bed, and great location!
Jacob Simon: It was a great stay at St Louis. Property was located strategically and easy access to the highways. Check in and out was a breeze and the host was very responsive. Highly recommend
Dustin Woods: What a beautiful modern industrial rental within walking distance to everything. Fabulous, Amazing, Wonderful, I could go on and on. The rental is within walking distance to anything you may need. I was there two nights, parked my vehicle in a parking garage about half a mile away (there is closer parking) and didn't use it a single time during my stay. The host is extremely quick to respond to any questions you may have. As a property manager myself with 60+ rentals in Western North Carolina I am 1 jealous I dont have this rental in my portfolio and 2 was beyond grateful that for once I was not the one on the management side of it and was able to relax in this stunning rental. Many thanks.
Laura Patidar: Cute vintage home, in a quiet area of St. Louis. Close enough to the attractions to go in less than 20 minutes but far enough to feel like your in a small city. It was perfect for my Husband, (newborn) Daughter, and I. We spent the week with my Mother (for mothers day) siteseeing in the city but could come back "home" in the evenings to a quiet house to relax and unwind. Will definitely book again if we are ever in St Louis. Thanks again to the Host for an enjoyable experience.
Eric Brown: Great location very spacious great host great service
Tim Abbadusky: Mi estancia pasó muy bien de todos aspectos. Fue agradable ver buenos utensilios de cocina, y también el colchón era bueno y mi sueño fue reparador.
Mary Glenn: Our stay at this property was AMAZING. The host was very accommodating and the place was spacious. Very clean and well stocked. Perfect Location around all the attractions and good food. It's right down the street from the Arch and the baseball field. We had an awesome time and would recommend staying here. We will definitely stay again.
Ramon Mejia: Everything was perfect felt right at home. A lot of things to do in the area will be returning for sure !
Isaac White: Great communication and place. Perfect for our trip. We had some noise issues with a neighboring dog barking early in the morning but other than this, it was a great spot.
Mari Katherine Webb: Loved our stay! I used to live in the area and picked it because of the space, price, and proximity to the park. The Air BNB was exactly as pictured. We had so much space, and it was great to feel at home again. Owners were very communicative and clear. I would absolutely recommend and would stay again without question.
Sarah Lauer: Very responsive, the apartment was such as described and in a great location!
Kenneth Yount: Nice little cottage, in a quiet neighborhood. Nice little grocery store nearby and very good restaurants.
Demy Pratts: Clean, cozy, with all the necessities, good neighborhood. Definitely would book again if possible. Thanks
Nikki Jones: Definitely would recommend this place to my friends and family not only is the management company great to work with but the home is clean and very convenient to walk to the park and some nightlife as well as restaurants. I also enjoy being able to cook in the home as well especially that it was a longer stay for me and my family! Definitely will be back for a 3rd time.
Erica King: I had a wonderful experience the loft was so comfortable and In the best location. We was literally steps away from the Arch next door to the Horse Casino & by it being downtown we were surrounded with things to do. The host was helpful and there foot any assistance needed I'll definitely be back to book with him again!!
YESSICA SHAW: Place was exactly as described. Close to everything!!
Arun Biswas: Very nice location in a working class neighborhood close to attractions and dining. The check-in and follow up from the manager was great and very responsive. This was a business stay and the proximity to downtown, universities and other attractions was great. The bungalow was quite clean and had a full kitchen with two large bedrooms. There was a full bath with tub, but it could use a makeover and was missing towel bars. Overall we had a great stay.
Siarrah Taylor: Great stay we really enjoyed all the place had to offer. Made my birthday a great one. Thank you all !
Patty Riske: We enjoyed a relaxing stay at Maria's Airbnb in St. Louis. It was so nice to have the space to share with family and yet our own private bedrooms. The location was nice and in a quiet neighborhood.
Kathy Durbin: Great house and location. In walking distance to restaurants and park.

Apartment Exchange: what do users think?
Brendan Bowen: My family rented through them for a year and it was a very pleasant experience. They fixed all of our issues promptly and made sure we were taken care of. Would definitely recommend the Apartment Exchange to anyone looking to rent.
Vivian Bonds: There website is easy to follow. They answer emails and phone calls. If they are busy and miss your call they get right back to you usually the same day.
Joycie Ebb: Very helpful. Service is accommodating and problems resolved professionally and immediately. Thanks to Mike and Kelly.
Leah Roberson: I did not have a great experience with this leasing agency. The property was glued together very well and fell apart as soon as I moved in.The bathroom vanity leaked continuously and had to be repaired twice. The shower was not providing hot water and had to be repaired multiple times. The tub also feels like its about to fall through the floor. There were quite a few plugs in the wall that would sink into the wall when I tried to use them. The racks in my closets were weak and had to be repaired. Once I was able to get furniture into the unit, the floors were noticeably uneven. I was told by my landlord that a fresh paint would be provided, the closets would be fixed and small holes would be patched. Clearly nothing was done. While cleaning my apartment I noticed I had swept up a lot of what looked like sand on the floor, but I was unable to make out what the substance was. I did bring the issue up to the maintenance who was in my apartment fixing my sink again and he stated he didn't know where the substance on the floor could have came from. He had no knowledge of how it could have possibly gotten there. This made me feel uneasy as I had been experiencing issue after issue because I didn't know if the substance would be harmful to myself and my family so I cleaned up as best as I could. My neighbor/landlord has tones of junk in the basement of the property that was supposed to be removed but was not. Washer and Dryer is supposed to be provided but i am unable to get to it because the landlord is a hoarder. I am also annoyed by ladybugs and fireflies, there is a mouse in my home and when I brought this to my landlords attention, she stated that I should put up mice traps or get a cat. At this point I was furious and could no longer handle my living arrangements so I decided to break my lease. I had only been in the unit for exactly ONE WEEK! My landlord has ripped me off and is expecting more money in order for me to leave. MY EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIBLE!!!!
Josephine Havlak: Apartment Exchange does a great job taking care of their tenants. After hearing our children's terrible stories about apartment rental, I was worried when we sold our house too fast to find another house and we had to find an apartment. My experience has been wonderful since the day I first asked to see an apartment and throughout our so far 8 month stay. All their employees are super nice, professional, and take care of problems right away. Drew, who usually takes care of our apartment is a great guy. I wouldn't consider renting from any place they didn't manage.
Brandon Hentze: Apartment Exchange is one of the best property management agencies in St. Louis. Their employees are friendly and helpful when you call, and Mike Herrmann is an attentive and responsive building manager with AE. Highly recommended for any HOA or apartment owner looking for a management firm.
Debby Carruth (Mama Deb): Can't write a review yet because they haven't found me a place yet so I can only give three stars cuz you haven't completed your agreement complete your agreement and I'll give you your other two
Sarah M: BEWARE: ROACH INFESTATION. I viewed a vacant apartment at their property on Holtwood road in Overland. The first thing I noticed going inside was a strong cigarette odor. I noticed several dead cockroaches on the floor. Then I moved the oven out from the wall and along with nasty old garbage, about 30 live roaches crawled out. It was disgusting and I will not consider this place.
Amanda Gallogly: Administrative staff is always cheerful and helpful and The maintenance staff goes above and beyond. This is the best experience I've ever had with property management/landlords in my life.
megan youngblood: I reside at 5844 Bermuda the tenants above me are extremely loud and has a lot of traffic flowing come home at times. I can’t even park in my parking space kids running wild. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone unless you like dealing with a bunch inconsiderate tenants . I have have sent serval emails and voicemails messages and even talk to one staff member.
Orlando Payton: Turned in all of my paper work working 2 jobs working 70-80 hours and 34 hours every 2 weeks. Told me I had to make 4 times the rent. 3 sources of income coming in but we didn't qualify. The requirements seemed to be made up because it said nothing about 4 times the rent when it should be 3 times the rent. 4 times the rent in a area that doesn't even comes to the amount of 4 times the rent. The area is not Ladue, Clayton, St. Charles, etc. The property value is not that high and we were told 4 times the rent on a 795 a month house for rent.
Diahann Cunningham: I have lived at Williamsburg Townhomes for a year and the experience overall has been good. The walls are thin. Other than that, no complaints
Katherine Parker: The staff that assisted me during my visit (Janelle) was very friendly and helpful.
Pinkkcoco: The landlord does not care about his tenets but loved when we pay rent on time I bet it’s mice in the apartment where I live and water leaks into the apartment he steady tells me they will fix the problem on the roof the apartment is not insulated correctly my bill a month should not be $260 for gas I will not rent from this company again
mbarissaner: A professional team who acts and reacts promptly
Timothy McElroy: Apartment exchange was great while I rented from them. Everything was awesome until they made the decision to sell the building I was renting from without even letting me know. They told me I would be able to renew and nothing would change, just a new owner. That was not the case the new owner gave me a notice to vacate in 30 days when my lease went through 6 more months. Sooooo all I have to say about apartment exchange is make sure they are not going to sell the building you are living in in the middle of your lease because apparently they can do that without even mentioning it to you. Absolutely unprofessional and unnecessary! I would elsewhere if you want someone you can trust and will treat you with respect!
Beverly Jones: Apartment Exchange is a Great Company to rent from. Great Maintenance team and Great Apt Management. I would recommend them if you are looking for Great Landlord's.
Michelle McGilvry: Our property manager and maintenance team are so wonderful to work with. They're quick in responding to our needs. I highly recommend working with this group.
Amanda Turner: Super nice area. Alicia in the office is very helpful. Properties are well taken care of and nicely updated. Parking on Ida is tight, but great other than that.
Rich Brooks: First class operation
Annisa Kumerow: Management is aware of parking issues at our complex. Up until today, management has been great at sending mass texts to other residents when they parked in our spot. This week alone, our spot has been parked in 3-4 times. Today, the neighbors who parked in our spot called the police when we knocked on their door. Afterwards, Josh, our apartment manager, called us and told her not to call her with parking disputes again, and faulted us for the incident with the police even though we didn't do anything wrong.Apartment Exchange should really take some responsibility for the properties that they manage. Yes, parking is always at a premium in apartments, but you are aware of the issues and should not fault tenants when they get into disputes over parking. Instead of having us rely on our apartment manager who no longer wants to deal with these issues, maybe you could post a towing sign and number that residents could call when their spots are parked in.I've never felt so disappointed in an apt community in my life, and I've lived in some bad ones. I now know that in the future, instead of calling my apt manager, I should just follow the actions of my neighbors and call the police every time there's an issue, since they are very supportive of my neighbors who chose to call.EDIT: Please see the email sent to us after our property manager called us to tell us our complaints are no longer welcome. She specifically states that people are allowed to violate lease policy if we do not claim our spots first. Anyone without a 8-5 job will find themselves lacking parking, and the complex will not honor their legally binding (lease) obligation of reserved parking.

SF Shannon Real Estate Management LLC: what do users think?
2uin ton: Wonderful place feels like I'm at home.
Ann Scharfenberg: We truly enjoyed our stay at Emma’s Suite. There was outstanding communication before and during check in which made our arrival super easy. The apartment is comfortable with many personal touches that made it feel like home. We were able to easily explore St Louis during our stay. Overall a great value and we would stay again.
Misty Barnhart: First thing first it was haunted! The bathroom mirror kept slamming open and the pots and pans would sound like there bing banged under the cabinet but then we would check and it would be neat. But it was close to the city wish was a plus.
Cassie Booth-Johnson: Cute space, comfy bed. Lots of extra special touches that shows the host cares! Very clean!
Ron Freiburger: We had a great stay! Accommodations were perfect. Karen was very attentive to all of our needs. I highly recommend staying at this property.
Lynn Watkins: Great Place! The rental was great and everything went smoothly. Thanks for providing a nice environment for my event. The decor is a little dated, but nice and clean, nonetheless. My guest enjoyed themselves and everything was provided as requested. I was pleased and will definitely utilize the facility again. Thanks again
Kathy Roux: I live at one of their properties. They work hard to keep up with maintenance and enforcing the tenant rules.
Charles Tanner: It’s been almost two months and I have only compliments for the management team. My move in was seamless! They also handled a “troublesome” tenant professionally and swift as possible. Overall, the neighbors are decent people.
Becky P: SF Shannon is absolutely the BEST!My family and I have stayed at 8 of their places, some more than once, in the Tower Grove, Central West End, and Grand Center locations. We love the historical charm in each unit, but with modern conveniences. Their units are well thought out with all that you need and you won't find any place cleaner than these! There is some noise, but that is part of the experience of staying in the city. Parking has never been an issue. Access to the key for the unit is very easy and accessible. There are some items in the fridge for your convenience…….and let’s not forget about those Trader Joe’s snacks that are provided! You will not regret staying at one of SFShannon's places. They respond quickly to any of your needs and try their best to accommodate you.
Suzanne Renard: We feel at home in our little apartment at 4161 Magnolia. The wood floors give a rich feel to the space. It's a pleasure to cook in the kitchen with the original deep enamel sink and big pantry, with the back door open to the trees and the sounds of birds. It's amazingly quiet for being right in the heart of a big city. The maintenance staff is very responsive, efficient, and professional. We got lots of support on moving day--a warm welcome and information on the details of life in this beautiful building, from use of the laundry room, to enjoyment of the serene garden area. Architecture like this cannot be found in many cities. Cheers to SF Shannon for the great service they do for St. Louis in maintaining these venerable, historical buildings--and treating their tenants so well! Tom and Suzanne
Daryl Roberson: Very nice apt complex. Friendly people and take care of their residents.
Marcus Atkins: Overall my experience has been great. Very accommodating and fast regarding my requests for and fixing maintenance issues and are very lenient to tenants and rent who've been tenants for years . Externally, the constant repairing of the elevator is a bit of a concern as far as safety using it. Need more parking options especially during the weekends.
Tyson G.: Booked a place through AirBNB in St Louis called "Chopin" ran by SF Shannon. Would definitely stay again. Easy walk to The Foundry and plenty of other places to walk/eat/drink. Cozy place to stay with small extras like snacks, drinks, etc that made it feel very welcoming!
Karen Levin: Very comfortable, cozy, and providing all that you need. A great location, and across from a beautiful park.
Nicole Cobb: I had a wonderful experience staying at an SF Shannon apartment – highly recommended!
Jenny Temple: Our stay with SF Shannon last weekend was perfect! It was the perfect spot to stay with our daughter. The apartment near Tower Grove was lovely! There were so many thoughtful touches from cold drinks in the fridge, to breakfast foods, to snacks and candy, and a wonderful selection of teas. Our daughter LOVES tea and she was quite impressed with the selection. Everything was so cozy and inviting from the moment we stepped in the door. There was a lovely collection of books, movies, games, large TV and very comfortable furniture and beds. Even the fold out couch was extremely comfortable. We loved all the beautiful windows and stained glass accents. The kitchen was small, but mighty. I don't think we have ever stayed somewhere with such a well appointed kitchen. It has everything we could need and some fun snacks and coffee and such. The neighborhood was wonderful. It was located across from a large beautiful park. We enjoyed poking around the farmer's market at the park on Saturday. It was also just around the corner from the botanical gardens.
Gail Abato: Great apartment. Very comfortable and well stocked. This was our second stay and we’ll definitely return when we visit our daughter at school.
Terri Halverson: Returned to Herman’s Hideaway for another great stay. We love the location. Apartment is cozy, comfortable, always clean, and we appreciate the bagels, eggs and treats that make us feel welcome and cared for. Thank you!
Tom Makarewicz: The entire staff is always super considerate and accommodating. Communication to tenants is thorough and timely. I appreciate the excellent care and maintenance devoted to this venerable building. Nothing but full satisfaction with SF Shannon.
Julio Mon: Greetings. It is not the first time that I have stayed in one of her apartments. They are excellent, comfortable and above all, very clean. I appreciate the opportunity. Thank you and much success.
T&C Christian: My recent stay at Anna's Retreat was so accommodating, and full of lots of thoughtful extras that made my stay extra memorable. The space is furnished with charm and unique touches that provide cozy comfort. As a courtesy, thoughtful amenities of sweet and salty snacks, along with eggs, bagels, butter, cream and coffee had all been provided! The bedroom's queen mattress and bedding were super comfortable. I also really appreciated the closet storage, luggage racks, and empty dresser drawers for staying organized. The bathroom was bright and outfitted with ample towels and toiletries for my five night stay. Anna's Retreat is nestled in the midst of a lovely neighborhood setting with great walk-ability, with a local eatery and coffee shop right next door. My hosts were very communicative and attentive to my comfort. The self check-in process was a breeze, and the new digital key system is a nice upgrade. I highly recommend Anna's Retreat as the perfect combination of convenience and cozy!

Habitat Co: what do users think?
Felita Blakely: Not any security.
Gloria Vaughn: Very high risk area
Ryan Connery: Dirty, run down
Carlos Jones: I would not move there because vacant houses and stray dogs not fun getting bit and don’t know who’s hiding in vacant houses if anyone wanna move there I advised to have some protection especially at night time because vacant houses and stray dogs don’t wanna get bit not fun getting bit buy stray dogs and don’t know who’s hiding in vacant houses if I where you I have some protection get my drift especially going outside and especially at nighttime especially around the near the vacant houses especially nighttime if anyone move there okay move in at your risk
Christopher Tilson: Alright
Bo Hamilton: Beyond the nice exterior and interior of the apartment. Thruth be told theres a dark side to the property along with surrounding area. Lets start with the infestation of junkies and prostitution that remain subliminal to the naive eye. Vacant buildings litter both streets that lead to the high rise. Stray dogs over grown vegetation of abandoned residences. Now back to the apartments front entrance with the round about for vehicles. There's alway cars blocking the exit. Tenants beware!
Kingdom Reign: Managers are superb, the noice is annoying sometimes but overall its wonderfulUpdate: 1 starIt's noise constant blasting of music , it's a nice apartment but the neighborhood is sketchy. They constantly come in for inspections, which seems like twice a month you feel like your privacy is invaded. One time a maintenance man walked in as I slept, I was startled & it was really unnerving but they were un bothered by my complaint. To top it off some brand-new shoes we're stolen out if my apt. I didn't notice until I moved out. Mind you, only managers & maintenance men have access.

Helix Realty: what do users think?
Art Johnson: I was supposed to make this review 10 months ago, but hey, better late than never. I rented my first apartment with Helix Reality back in 2020 when Covid started. At the time, they owned some studio apartments. Rent was nice, they were quick to fix stuff, it was good. Fast forward a year later around Aug 2021, there was an infestation in the building due to a tenant. Amy, Michelle & Kevin did all that they could to help the situation. They are not “slum lords”. Unfortunately though, the problem was just too much and it was very overwhelming. This is when I decided to move in to one of their other buildings called Clark school lofts. Much larger, beautiful and affordable. This was Nov 21. The roach problem was resolved. Just as things were getting good, I ran into a financial issue and I needed to move out of state for better job opportunities. Michelle, Amy and Kevin were so understanding and they even helped me find a tenant to take my apartment so that I wouldn’t have to pay 5 month’s rent. If I could take them and move them with me I would. 5/5, I would recommend anyone looking for an apartment to move here, they are some awesome, kind & empathetic human beings.
JR: They’re alright. Not great but not terrible either. I probably won’t lease from them again but we parted amicably
Eric Berndt: One cold winter a pipe broke in the building and they charged me 2500.oo dollars. They said I wasn't using enough heat. I WOULDNT RENT from them. There was no causal relationship between the broken pipe a n my use of heat. In addition the tenant below me was out of town at the time so it more likely that it was due to his absence. The sad thing about them is they exploited my 90 year old father .H e paid them off because he was afraid they would evict me.I think they are unethical
Michael Chomat: I have lived in St. Louis for 4.5 years and with Helix for the last year and a half. This is by far the best rental property group I have had. They are extremely responsive to all service requests. They answer the phone and help to resolve problems. Additionally, my building is always impeccably clean. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a rental in St. Louis.
Alexey Surnov: I was their tenant for 5 and half years in 2016-2021, and I really enjoyed communcation with them. The staff is always friendly, punctual and professional. If you are looking forward to renting a flat in Saint Louis, try contacting Helix. After talking with them you may find out that this is exactly the option you needed.
Iesha King: I rented a beautiful space at the Clark School Lofts for 2 years and it was a really wonderful experience. The loft was so spacious and unique and the Helix staff Amy, Michele and Kevin were always so very kind and helpful!!
Jenrose Fitzgerald: Helix has been great. Michele, Amy, and Kevin always handled issues quickly. I would definitely rent from Helix again.
Winston Zhang: Leased with Helix for 2 years. Amy, Kevin and Michele were great and responsive. Our apartment building lobby and hallway were always clean. Moving in and moving out were smooth and easy. I’d definitely recommend Helix to anyone looking for an apartment and great leasing experience!
Michael Cook: I was amazed by the quality and caring shared by the owner Amy and her management team Kevin and Michelle. All service/maintenance requests were promptly resolved usually within hours. Each member of the staff is great and even though it sounds cheesy to say this, but it always felt like a big family. Extremely fond memories from my time at Helix!!
Sam Filby: I lived in the 5305 Delmar building for two years. The folks are Helix are extraordinarily kind, quick to respond to requests, and always helpful. I highly recommend renting from them.
Tamara Schaad: The Helix Realty team is awesome. My husband and I rented one of their apartments for just under 3 years, and the entire time from reaching out with interest to when we left, they were great. The apartment we rented was in an older building but the Helix Realty team was still always super prompt if we had repair requests, and always got things fixed. I highly recommend working with Helix Realty!
Timothy VanZant: We lived at one of Helix's properties for 2 years. They are seriously the best management companies we have ever had. We recommend them to everyone. The best part (other than the management team being some of the nicest people on the planet) is that they don't have weight or breed restrictions on dogs. Cannot recommend them enough.
Sarah Ostroot: Everyone at Helix has been great. Kevin showed us our unit at 1020 Union, but everyone in the office is amazing! Maintenance requests are quickly resolved. We have had no issues during our time with them. Highly recommend!
Mark Brown: I lived with Helix for about five years at two different locations. They were consistent, responsive, and fair. I highly recommend renting from them.
April Brown: I've been renting from this management company for over a year and have had the BEST living experience. They are extremely kind and have a sense of urgency. They truly care about their tenants. I HIGHLY recommend this place! Affordable and centrally located.
Fatzplace: Just unfortunately had to move out of the area and it greatly saddens me to leave Helix. Any questions or problems you run into, they will be extremely generous and thoughtful in helping you. The tenant portal that Helix has, has outstanding service for any maintenance needs you may have. Extremely exceptional pricing for the area and ammenities included. If you are a pet person like myself, you will be very very happy here. I had nothing but great experiences living here. Helix is not just a "landlord", they are a courteous, kind, welcoming group all around. 100% satisfied with everything about my quality of living here!
Floppyoneactual: They require tenants to sign their 2nd amendment rights away to rent one of their locations. They are ridiculously priced as well. Very unfriendly to the working class person.
Senada Fenelon: The fact that I lived at Soho Lofts for 5 years is an indicator of my satisfaction as a customer/tenant. Had it not been for some changes in my personal life, i probably would have spent more time living there because of the caring attitude and professionalism by the owner Amy and her staff. As a tenant, I can attest that any time I placed a maintenance request for either a minor or major repair, I would not only get a response immediately but they would actually ACT on the request within minutes or hours. Again, as a tenant, even if I wanted to drill holes to put up shelves in the bathroom or laundry room, hang multiple large picutres and drill for the brackets - amy, the owner, was happy to allow this because she wanted me as a tenant to feel at home. This was such a nice gesture. Amy's management staff kevin and Michele were also always there for me as a tenant. The apartment complex was always kept tidy, clean, lawns manicured in the summer and walkway salted to prevent falls from icy surface. I am truly grateful for this! But, now, not as a tenant, but as a person, I can attest to the humanity of the owner Amy who rescues stray cats and pays out of her own pocket for their veterinarian care, builds homes for them and pays for their food. I have nothing but positive and warm memories from my five years with Helix.
tony green: Very Very nice place
Purvi Patel: I lived in a helix building for roughly 3 years and left because I moved out of town. The building I lived in was recently renovated and I rented it site unseen. During that process Helix was transparent, and honest. While I lived in their apartment building my maintenance requests were always met with a timely and efficient response. They regularly took care of annual maintenance items i.e changing air filters etc. I loved living in a helix property and would highly recommend to anyone. It is clear that they care for their properties and tenants.
Casey Patterson: I posted a review of this place a little over a year ago. Afterwards they threatened my fiance and I just for telling the truth about what went on during the time we were associated with this place. Here goes:Bed bugs. My fiance didn't have bed bugs before coming here, however, she got them afterwards. It cost over $1,000 to get rid of them. She had to throw all of her stuff away, and move out. Now, thankfully we're bed bug free, and living a great life together. The management here, in 2017, was terrible, completely lacking any customer service. The downstairs was always filled with trash, so of course it smelled disgusting. They have a gym, directly beside the giant trash pile, so that means the gym is unbearable. This place is terrible. Don't live here unless you want bed bugs and a trashy smelling living facility.

Byron Co: what do users think?
People's Tube: I live here...Live here if you are desperate and don't care about anything else other than good location.Pros- good location-relatively good price for the location not the apartment.Cons- they have a policy that allows them to come in and out of your apartment for any reason without any notification ahead of time, which I learned a bit later.- very old building so expect high bills to warm and cool down the rooms during winter and summer. And you also might need a separate heater or cooler as it isn't good enough to warm/cool all the rooms.- the heater/AC is so noisy that you can't sleep at night. Check before you move in.- shower don't work well, no microwave, rusty gas stove which could brake/crack and cost you your security deposite or even more.- parking is painful often. You park on the street and with the number of residents and careless parking people, you could park it somewhere else and walk to your house after 7pm.- they say you can sublease but they make it very difficult with their policies and could take away the customer you brought to sublease your apartment. And they make extra money from you and the new person too for that.- leaving soon so I will update this rating based on how my lease termination goes as well, fingers crossed for that.
K G: I was really interested in their 5132 Waterman building, but after trying to get additional information over the phone and dealing with an uninformed and rude man I will not be applying. I worked in property management for almost 10 years and am a firm believer in if I can’t trust a community or management company to provide info or confirm their availability, big red flag.
David Rife: I rented a 2BR unit near the loop. I found it to be clean and comfortable. I had an issue with a vanity leak and once had no hot water. Byron's maintenance addressed the issues promptly and professionally. This older unit was not very energy efficient. I shut off the living room/dining room and used the 2nd bedroom as a living room during the winter but the gas bill was still $200. Updated windows and doors would help.I liked living near the loop. It is a great lifestyle to have all that the loop offers within walking distance.Byron was prompt in checking out and returned most of my deposit minus a minor cleaning fee which is typical.
cem sacakli: The Byron company, is a bunch of con artists. They believe the work on their property's. Should be done for free. I'm sure they can treat the people that give them money well. But if they owe you money different story. I would highly recommend never to do business with The Byron Co.
Liss: I moved in over the summer and this is my very first place so I completely forgot no electronic heaters ! Power shut off and Krista who works for Byron company went above and beyond and would not leave until my lights were back on ! I felt so bad with it being my fault but she was so kind and took care of me. Thank you so much Krista for your help I really appreciate you.
Luke Gallion: I've lived here for eight months now and just renewed my lease. Overall I have had no problems other than a few minor complaints.- It is unfortunate they do not have an online payment portal. It is 2022 and I do not have a checkbook, but fortunately my bank will write checks for me.- Just one week after I renewed my lease, they raised the sublease fee from $100 to $250 citing "inflation." I know inflation is bad right now, but it isn't that bad. This is especially frustrating since I am a student and utilize the sublease option and the sublease fee amount was a factor in my decision to re-sign. I am hoping they will honor the $100 amount when I sublease next summer.
Carrie Beach: Just not for us because everything is NO DOGS!!!
Jennifer Smith: Absolute worst management team and the leasing office will tell you one thing and then go back on their own word. The manager is impossible to even communicate with. I’ve had a few conversations with him and it seems like he’s always in a rush to get off the phone without even addressing the purpose of the call let alone actually helping. I wouldn’t live here ONLY because of the leasing office and management.
BudinCambodia G: I'm giving 5 stars because I have no problems living here for over a year. The garage parking is a tight fit though. My only complaint is not being able to pay online. Luckily their office isn't far away and is easy to drop off the rent, but I wish they would have alternatives.
Jay: Old, dirty, unmaintained property.Team is dismissive & unorganized. Nonchalant attitude with no sense of responsibility nor ownership.Would not recommend
Christopher Lawrence: I lived with Byron Co for 2 years and had countless issues. First of all, their policy which states they can enter your apartment at any time without notice is extremely disrespectful to privacy. I had an instance where maintenance entered my apartment and $150 worth of my meds went missing, because my meds are controlled I didn’t even bring it to management in fear or retaliation. My door knobs constantly fell off, my toilet would rock back and forth which is a code violation. Maintenance would simply tighten the screw for inspection rather than fix the root cause of the issue which would return immediately following inspection. My AC and electricity went out multiple times for periods of up to three days. My door-controller was broken on move in and broke again shortly after they fixed it. Part of the electricity issue was ameren’s fault but most of the time it had to with the quality of the circuits in the apartment. I see Byron co as a slum lord and do not recommend.
Stephanie Kirk: I am not sure why there are low reviews for The Byron Company. I have rented several homes and apartments in St. Louis and Byron is among the best. I am now on my 2nd location with them and I am very pleased with their pricing, professionalism, locations, response time and the quality of my homes. It is literally in the lease that they have permission to enter your home once your lease is up, and permission to enter without calling for maintenance, so I'm not sure what the issue is. My only complaint is that maintenance can sometimes take a few days, and that there is no way to pay rent online. Otherwise everyone is so kind, and maintenance is very nice and professional. Christa is especially easy to work with. I 100% recommend renting from Byron!
Cassie Sumpter: Positive:ValueI have rented with Byron Company for a year, for older buildings they are better maintained than most. Quick service when I submit maintenance requests. Overall happy with the location and other tenants. I would rate 5 stars if there was off-street parking and and I could pay rent online.
Xan Stoddard: Positive:ValueWell sized apartments at relatively low rents. Water and trash are included in cost. Maintenance workers are friendly but take a while to show up. Relatively few laundry machines in the basement for the entire building. I wish they had an online system to submit rent; it’s old fashioned checks. Not too bad
Britney Taylor: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThese people are TRASH they send there maintenance man to spy on you. Every time I leave and come back there’s a note on the floor and a maintenance visit that I wasn’t aware of!!! I keep being bullied and harassed by this company. I would not recommend this place to anyone
RSh s (Shmancey): Trash company that will give you the run around and then tell you about "requirments" that aren't in the lease, application, or add on the website they advertise. Never rent from a big company like this. They couldn't care less about you.
Rusli Halim: Critical:Professionalism
Adrian Robles (Morphologia): Positive:Professionalism,Responsiveness
Lexee Johnson: I rented with The Byron Company from mid Nov 2018- July 2019. Is it the best property management company? no. Is it the worst? no.Pros: -The building my apartment was in had a call box at the front door. This was very convenient for visitors and deliveries, as well as just an extra security measure.- The building I stayed in was all inclusive with rent. So not having to pay an electric or gas bill was amazing.-they allow catsCons: - The building had plaster walls. This made hanging up any decor/photos an absolute nightmare.- very limited garage access- no online rent payment optionsMy personal complaints:- When you put in your notice to vacate they are allowed to start using your apartment on tours. They are not required to give you notice. I knew this would happen, as it was in the lease, but it was honestly so annoying to deal with. You cant sleep in, in your own home because they might give a tour. One time my boyfriend and I were asleep in the bedroom, and TBC only knocked on the front door, not the bedroom door, which did not wake us. They then proceeded to just open the bedroom door without knocking. It just feels like you have no privacy. You have to make sure your home is presentable at all times. It feels so wrong to be at work, running errands, ect, knowing there are complete strangers walking through your apartment, touching your pets, looking at your photos, opening closets, moving things around, ect.- I had multiple unfortunate interactions with neighbors in the building. ex: someone across the hall accused me of smoking weed inside my apartment. I have never smoked a day in my life, even cigarettes. Management took their complaint seriously, which is a good thing, but blindly accused me with nothing but the neighbors word for support. I did speak with the property manager about this, and he said he apologized and that we would start with a clean slate....but upon my move out I had charges for "smoke stains and smell"...... I HAVE NEVER SMOKED!!--I feel really conflicted with their management. on one hand, anytime i put in a maintenance request, it was usually finished within the next 1-3 days, which was great. But on the flip side they also came and went as they pleased. They never called ahead of time. They came multiple times randomly to install new C02 censors, to check for spalls in the walls, ect ect, its not hard to give a courtesy call. I feel like yes its just an apartment, but to the renter, its their HOME. They deserve to know exactly who is there and when. Renters should deserve to also be present when someone else is there, if thats what they want. I could understand an emergency situation they need to enter, but a co2 censor could wait for the renters convenience.- I provided tons of photos of the apartment the week I moved in, just for my file as reference for damages at move out. I left the apartment in much better condition than i left it in. But I still only got about 1/2 of my deposit back.conclusion:-If you're a student, on a budget, or just dont need much privacy or space, their properties are great.-If you use metro for transportation, and dont need a garage, they're great. - If you want privacy, comfortably, and a "homey" atmosphere, pay a little more and rent somewhere else.- Youre not going to get your deposit back lol. just count on that.On a side note, Mike in the office was very helpful. Anytime I had a concern he was a very good listener and seemed to genuinely care. Cant say that about all of the office, so thank you.
Yun Zhao: Just want to let everybody know that You have to test if the heater or air conditioner are noisy or not. I lived there for one year and could not get sleep well because of the motor-like noise. Someone in Byron company told me it is normal and can not be fixed. However, I realized it is just normal in their company not the other places.
Erik Neumann: It was fun
