Charles Wells: Cool little spot on southwest boulevard, great food, and cocktails. The Coffey here is quite the show.Have had luck here with and without a reservation for a party of 2.Not the cheapest but worth the experince.Parking: You may have to circle the block and walk a block or two. There is a small public lot bear by but it is easily filled. I have never found a spot there
Bryan Whitehead: I’ve been dining here since before it was called La Bodega, so naturally it’s an enduring favorite for me. I always get a combination of tapas, so I don’t have much experience with entrees or salads. The small plates are outstanding. Almost everything I’ve gotten here has been an excellent combination of good basic cuisine and delicious sauce. I’m a big garlic fan, and they do an especially good job with garlic-intensive flavors.I just about always get the brotxeta and the papas fritas con ajo. From there it depends on what’s on special, what my companions want to try and what happens to catch my eye. As I said, I’ve almost never gone wrong. They also do a good job with cocktails. On my most recent visit I got an allspice daiquiri that was quite good. The service here is excellent. I recommend going during happy hour for the cheaper tapas and reduced noise level. Getting lots of small things can add up to a big bill at the end of the meal, and parking can be a little weird. But really this is one of KC's best dining experiences.
Ben Valley: I love tapas places and they are too few. This place is EXCELLENT! If you've never tried or you love tapas..... GO! They also have crazy cheap happy hour deals that are almost HALF OFF! You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go. There are few places like this a one. Happy hour is Monday to Friday from 2 to 5. Bring a date, bring a spouse, bring of your friends, or go alone. BUT GO!!!!!

Emily Simpson: This place was okay. It was obviously trendy, but I went there with my dad and his older friends, and they couldn't understand the menu, and then you're outside and you've got the noise from the cars driving above you. The two tapas items that I picked from the menu for the table were a hit, but the other two that the table just went with at the suggestion of the server were kinda meh. The drinks were delicious, though. And though noisy, the patio was super cute. I think I'd have a different experience going back with friends. Not for the older crowd, I'd say. I think it could be a 5 star experience if I went with my girlfriends.

Brad: Awesome tapas experience. Unique dishes you are not going to get anywhere else. A lot of fun to bring a group or date and share. Service was top notch every time I have been. Nicole Shoemaker: Excellent all around. One of the best restaurants in KC.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sapphic Sphinx: Overpriced tourist trap for Johnson County palates. 12 dollars for a small, subpar cucumber salad. 10 dollars for ricotta on toast. For some perspective, this is the same price as the famed ricotta toast that also includes homemade jam at the Los Angeles restaurant “Sqirl”. Might be worth it to people who have not dined on tapas in other cities. And they respond to negative reviews so defensively, you’d think if they were confident in their product they’d ignore them. Would have given more stars if I hadn’t seen their treatment of dissatisfied customers. There are much worthier and fairly priced restaurants in the city. Fully expect a salty response to follow.
Alexis Ostiguy: We went with a group of 6 and ordered 12+ things off the menu to share. Everything was delicious. Our favorites were the fudgy eggs (I’ve never liked deviled eggs until this dish!), seared tuna and lamb kebabs. We went on a Monday and brought our own wine since there is a no corkage fee. It was a great experience! My only complaint was that it was loud. I think it would be a wonderful place to sit on the patio!
Peter Albert: Great little spot, right off the trolley. I had a delightful, barrel aged Negroni poured by a friendly bartender. He was helpful in selecting the seared tuna and falafel. Both we’re yummy (and I’m picky about my tuna). It was perfect.
Ivo Marevic: The atmosphere and service was pretty good. Our server even fixed some of the bad drinks and food we got.The espresso martini was not great. Most of the drinks honestly were kinda disappointing. Not sure if it's because they were really busy or what. Food was good but everything was the same. Same spices and lots of cilantro in everything that really made things just blah. Who garnishes a ribeye steak with cilantro?Rosemary bread with ricotta was pretty amazing, and olives were great. Steak was good. Smashed potatoes were good. Muscles were good. One thing i love getting at tapas places is octopus which really disappointed me here. Portion was small and it was too chewy and spices were overpowering. Overall, it's an ok place, i just wish for food they were little more diverse with spices so not everything tastes so similar. For the price you are paying, i expected better.
Natalie Winters: Lovely atmosphere, great service and good food! The mock-tail was really tasty and steamed mussels were fresh! The highlight was roasted bronzino.Braised pork belly was bland and Lebanese hummus was ordinary. Overall it was a nice experience but the price is pretty high for portion.Recommended dishes Steamed Mussels …More
Rahul Dedhia: Conveniently located downtown. Great place to dine. Lots of small plate options to select from. Chickpeas fries are one of my favorites and are amazing. It's highly recommended and you must try it if you visit. They have a few vegetarian options as well. Nathan Victor: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Steamed Mussels, Chickpea FriesMore
Gwen Goldfish: Personally thought this place was overrated. Not bad - just overrated. I had the lamb kebab that was ground lamb when I was expecting pieces of lamb and it doesn't specify on the menu. It was set in a sauce which was pretty necessary because the lamb, ( even though ground and mixed with spices) didn't have much flavor. The server was really nice and very helpful but just a bit over the top.I would go again if someone else wanted to go but I wouldn't be in a hurry to try it again myself.
Rebecca Retzler: We went to extra virgin last night for our date night! It was my first time. Caitlin was our server and went above and beyond! She was very nice and came back to the table quickly. She suggested the tequila white wine sangria, that was amazing! The cucumber salad was wonderful! The flavor was great and so beautifully plated. The Roasted Feta was to die for! The way it was made, it felt very light. We also had the fuzzy eggs. Those were so good as well. We also had chicken which was cooked to perfection, it was moist and full of flavor. Everything we had, paired really well together. We will definitely be back!
Chuck Isaacson: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Robert Kiesling: Excellent food, service and wines but small portions and very pricey ($200+ for four). It was as noisy as most cafeterias making conversation very difficult??Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

Trago Bar & Tapas: what do users think?
Erin Larson: This is a Spanish restaurant! Didn't thinking was gonna be kid friendly per the person I spoke with in the phone before going, but it ended up not being bad. Tried avocado w chip appetizer side of shrimp and pork tapas 2 corn shells and tried a puffy taco. "not gluten-free " Kids loved the avocado dip. Julie Votipka: We took my parents to Trago for their first experience with tapas. They thoroughly enjoyed it! We all agreed our favorite dish was the Spanish meatballs, they were really tasty! Oh, and those bacon wrapped dates are to die for. We also enjoyed the puffy tacos, fried potatoes, burrata, steak and finished with churros. There was nothing left on those plates. You should definitely try the red sangria as well! Delish!

Sarah Smith: I’ve been before but finally convinced my husband to try for the first time this week and it again did not disappoint. They have the best Sangria in Liberty and everything we ordered was delicious and well prepared. The service is also amazing with great recommendations on what to try together. If you are in Liberty this is a great place for a girls night out or a date night with your spouse.
Clay Davis: What we LOVED ❤️ and didn’t👎🏼 about Trago. Ambiance and decor 5 stars 🌟 (great vibe). Outdoor seating Woohoo 5 stars ⭐️! Wait staff very friendly and helpful 5 stars ⭐️. Drink menu 5 stars ⭐️, Food 2 stars ⭐️ we ordered 4 items to share as we love tapas and everything was underwhelming to say the least. I think they must have new kitchen staff because a table near us complained and multiple items not being as good as usual, so hopefully that’s the case. The following details are the restaurant as we hope they can improve. Item 1 House made chips; so horrible I don’t know why you would even have them on the menu? You would be better served by done lame truffle fries.Caprese salad was excellent after we had them add the forgotten cheese 🤷🏼‍♂️- that’s called a tomato salad. Grilled chicken was tender and juicy but the seasoning like the chips were off. Tostadas, We felt like we must have just picked bad items so order the tostados to try something different and like the chips why would you even have this on the menu. So bad, we didn’t eat it. The waitress asked if we wanted a box, we declined as our dog would scoff at it. Please please please we ❤️ everything but the food-poorly executed I 🙏 you work out your kitchen/menu issues.
Amy A: We went for the first time yesterday for dinner. Place was pretty empty when we arrived, but filled up rather quickly. Shawnda was our waitress and was so helpful! She explained how to order, what are the popular items, and was overall very pleasant to work with. Red sangria hit the spot on this warm day. Shrimp in a skillet - yum! Risotto meatballs - delicious. But those churos, what can I say but can we have some more? Thanks for everything -- well be back!
Megan Midence: Absolutely loved Trago! My mom, sister, and I went for our first time for Happy Hour and we were so impressed! We tried 6 different tapas and everything we tried was so good! Jody Murphy: Oh wow! I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. The "skinny" margaritas were amazing! Made with agave, no syrupy mixer. The happy hour small plates were delicious. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. I'll definitely be returning.
Matthew Lehman: We had a phenomenal experience at Trago. The fluffy tacos are a must. Our server made the night. Sasha if I lived here I would take you out and spoil you every day because you're awesome and deserve it! Thank you babe

If you have the chance (and it is not too hot), sit outside! The beer garden is beautifully done!

Scott Sulik: Came for dinner and had a very good experience overall. Food was great, presentation was impressive, and portion sizes were large.Understanding we dined during a busy dinner time on a weekend, the servers seemed overworked and some of the dishes came out a little colder than expected. But the taste was still delicious, and we’d certainly be back to give it a second try.
Maugan Ra: A friend came from out of town and loves to try new food. She found Novel and we went. The waiter was prompt and personable (and even recognized my scientist nerd music from my Spotify, which hadn't turned off.) We had the steak tartare, which was fantastic and the fried potatoes... The curry spiced ketchup was insanely good. Friday night at 7 pm, there were plenty of customers but not overcrowded. I will definitely suggest it to my locals.
Michael GRabowski: We both had 7 layer salad excellent. She had the scallops asked for a box but there was nothing to bring home. We had a nice Riesling with her fish dish. On the spicy side but was asked ahead of time with warning and they were right. The apps are okay but I'll skip next time.I'll have this on my short list to bring visitors for something off the beaten path.
Melissa Davis: This restaurant was stellar! The service was impeccable every step of the way. Every item we ordered was next level. We started with the crispy farm egg and then the spring ravioli. Both were excellent. I had the KC strip for my main course and it did not disappoint. It was served with the best carrots I've ever had and I'm typically indifferent about carrots. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
Mizzmi27: The Duty Free cocktail was very good. The goat's milk pasta just kind of tasted like chili, it didn't really taste elevated or anything.Overall the food was good but felt overpriced.

Affäre: what do users think?
Patrick Walker: A nice, updated take on the typical schnitzel and sausage fare you typically find in German restaurants. The brat trio was delicately flavored and nicely sauced. Preferable to the seafood risotto dish, which was competently executed, but nothing beyond what you’d find in another good local restaurant. The Painted Table dessert was remarkable in sweet flavors and in flame-illuminated presentation. Truly unique.
Jess Len: WOW. WOW. WOW. Enough said! Wow! The food was amazing! Came here on a Saturday evening as a lovely double date night and we were all so impressed! Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for the BEST German food! Thank you for such a great experience and I cannot wait to come back and have some more!

James Symmonds: Looks like it would be a nice date spot. Bartenders are really nice and the owners are around. Update: I still have yet to have a date to bring in but it would still be a good date place.
Brit Ann: Truly a treat to go to Affare. You definitely don't get the chain vibe from this place that even some of the more high end places give off around KC which is nice. Service was amazing and the food was great. High quality ingredients with mixtures of flavors that you don't expect and they still somehow taste amazing together. We got the Hummer Poutine, Risotto von Meeresfruchten, and Jakobsmuscheln mit Entenleber. It all was so good - loved the seafood. I'd probably go for a lighter starter next time but we were curious about lobster poutine.
Brent Sear: came to affare for a baby shower. the outdoor courtyard is great.

Sherry Smith: I would give this restaurant 100 stars. The food is excellent. The Jager Schnitzel was crispy and the meat was tender. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. Woodsie Woods: First time and it was great. Ordered off their new seasonal “white asparagus” menu. The white asparagus soup had a nice deep flavor but was a tad too salty. I was very excited to see morel mushrooms on the menu with the white asparagus and morel mushroom spatzle. This dish had a nice sherry cream sauce, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the morel mushrooms. Overall pleased with the quality, especially with these recipes being a fairly new addition.
Racheal Soendker: Truly one of the best restaurants in KC. Make a reservation to ensure you can be seated. Especially on the weekends. This is not a place to go if you are I'm a rush. They know how to time the dishes so you are sure to be finished with appetizers before the next course is brought out. They give you time to enjoy each course. If you choose to do a bottle of wine, the server is good about coming back to pour it timely. And the food is amazing. If you can, make sure you get there in the spring for the white asparagus menu. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Shiona Deliozar: The service was excellent and the staff was really awesome and attentive. We thought the tasting menu itself was pretty average for the price. Everything tasted fresh but kind of lackluster, especially the apps and dessert and the Black Forest cake didn’t really have the layer of cherries like it’s supposed to. Still happy to try the place out with my hubby for my birthday dinner. We spent around $150 and left very full and satisfied.

Eunice P: The tartar was very yummy though a bit too salty. The veal schnitzel was dry, overdone, and a bit bland and the condiments and cucumber salad too sour. The beef roulade was like fancy meat loaf and tasted okay. The cabbage was delicious, but, again, a bit on the sour side considering it took up the majority of the plate. The drinks, vibe, and service were fantastic. I would have rated this a 4/5 but one of our party had stomach issues after eating the beef roulade and cabbage. I may give this place another try, but probably not for a while.
Victoria Salinas: Enjoyed a wonderful meal! The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was exceptional.
Peggy Lukken: The food is authentic German fare, freshly made and delicious. As always, the service was on point, with knowledgeable and attentive servers. For the first time, The atmosphere is sophisticated and comfortable; the patio is magical. We were waited on by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier who not only gave great notes about the wines we tasted, but told us stories about the specific vineyards, their histories, influences, and production techniques. He took the time to understand our tastes and suggested incredible wines to try. It was a masterclass in wine education and a wonderful, personalized experience. Bravo!

J. Barrett: UPDATED REVIEW, May 2023: HARD PASS. Where to start. This place has gone downhill and gone downhill fast! I don't know if it's lack of good help, or a combination of that + really poor quality food. I ate here three times, under duress, in a 48-hour period. Extremely slow service, poor attention to detail, and hit or miss food every single time! For a restaurant supposedly of this caliber, I had nothing more than a disappointing experience all three occasions. Four of us ordered the shrimp tacos, which I cannot tell you just how terrible they were with kids being able to read this review. They need a complete overhaul of the recipe and they need to toss that disgusting microwaved shrimp in the garbage! Everyone experienced hit or miss dishes, rather that be appetizers or actual main courses or specials. Some of them were tasty, others reflected overcooked swordfish and halibut. You cannot overcook these delicacies and expect your side dishes, which also need improvement, to make up for it. I don't know what's going on, and I especially don't know how they expect to regain trust from patrons, but something must change and must change now for this downtown Kansas City staple! Did I mention they ran out of lobster? Really?2021 review (the good ole days): Top notch location, with amazing food and really great service. Highly recommend for business meetings and/ or a great night out with your significant other.

Sam K.: I stopped in for Sunday brunch and I’m so happy I did. The hostess welcomed me with a wonderful smile and attitude and sat me at the bar to my liking.I was greeted immediately by the bartender with a fresh water. He was also attentive and polite the entire length of my meal, keeping my water glass filled, eating space clear of used plates and my Bloody Mary requests fulfilled while maintaining other tables in the larger seating area of the bar. They offered three (3) variations of oysters of which I tried all three and was not disappointed. They were fresh and appointed well.I also had the Challah Bread French Toast with sausage and it was delicious! It was served with fresh blueberries, warm maple syrup and sliced thick! The sausages were a welcomed compliment to my meal and in my opinion, ya can’t beat sausage dipped in maple syrup!I would definitely order this again and if this item is any indication of their full menu, I would definitely eat here again if I ever get to visit KC in the future.
Morgan and Taylor Thomas: This place deserves at least 6 stars. Food; great. Wine; perfect. Atmosphere; post Roman Italy meets modern. What earns them the 6th star is the sommelier Lizzie. Her help and personality set our visit apart from any other restaurant we’ve been to. Cannot thank her enough. While this place deserves your business on its own merits…as long as Lizzie is around, we will be regulars
Garrett Kirk: Great experience here with Dalton our server. My wife and I were celebrating our joint birthdays, Dalton was nice and attentive the entire time. The food was great and I was impressed with how fast the kitchen pumped out high quality dishes. That’s hard to do with consistency. My wife enjoyed a Gin and Tonic that was distilled in-house with salmon and red rice. She said it was the best salmon she had ever had. I had a filet with wedge salad, duck fat yukon golds with melted leeks. It was great. The filet was cooked perfectly and the bone marrow butter was a great finisher. We shared the crispy Brussel sprouts and a few oysters. We both enjoyed them and I was honestly impressed with how crispy the sprouts were. The oysters were delicious, fresh and flavorful. The really nice part was since we were both celebrating birthdays, we both got complimentary desserts. $10 a pop, on the house. A restaurant with their stature doesn’t have to do that but it’s really impressive when they do. We’re just two folks having dinner and they treated us like we were Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes. It was really nice and we appreciate it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a upscale dining experience in Kansas City. Plus it’s in Union Station, easily one of the top 5 destinations in Kansas City. It’s an all around new favorite of ours for celebrating life events.Parking: Large paid parking garage located at 1804 Broadway St, Kansas City, MO 64108. Easy walking distance to Union Station. Up one escalator or flight of stairs to large main hall with Pierponts on the opposite side of the hall.

Berky 1118: Their crab cake eggs benedict were amazing! Much more food than expected. The potatoes were properly seasoned and cooked. We had a large party and the service was perfect! And, certainly not least important, their bloody marys (all 3 kinds) were amazing! Most restraunt made mixes are less than okay to me but this was amazing.
