Brianna Raakman: This place is extremely dark. I could not even tell when I entered which tables were free because it was so dark. They only had QR code menus and it was too dark for my phone to scan it. The layout of the space was not great because the band is right at the entrance so only a couple tables can see the band the rest are too far away. Yes the live music is nice but the aesthetic of the room was not my style and it made it difficult for me to stay and enjoy it.

Jon Twibell: Don't let the dive bar vibe fool you about the food, it is top notch. Fun atmosphere if you like a classier dive bar. Fun options like a beer slot machine (random beer for cheap). Tye B: What a beautifully designed place to visit for a nightcap love the ambience and the overall vibe. Upon my visit I noticed the beautifully hanging butterflies drinks are amazing as always I went for a traditional old fashioned it was a solid contender to others iv tried. Prices are to be expected for a nice experience, and reservations are Preffered but not required if there is open space. It's one of those places you just have to go and visit on your own. Outside seating is nice, but inside is where you get the whole experience. I will be back as they seemed to have notable wine list.

ShaNyia Roberts: Always a good time going here! They have a seasonal menu and this one probably is my favorite so far, the Bone Marrow Tartine is sooo good and so fresh, the fresh herbs combined with the crispy crust and lemon is just too good! Their ribeye bolognese is also so amazing, great flavor throughout, the ONLY complaint I have is the food is never hot. I enjoy hot food and sometimes I have to send it back to get it to the right temp, my other friends have complained about this too. However that doesn’t negate the fact that the food AND drinks are always great. High quality lounge and the staff are pretty great too!

Armita: Amazing contemporary bar. Absolutely love the butterfly references in decorations, menu and outside of the bar. There many amazing craft cocktails and small plates. The menu is very creative. There is a unique name for the drinks. They also have great selections of beers and wines. They are open until midnight weekdays. So, it’s a great spot to hangout during the week as well.
SA Berry: This place is so freaking beautiful! I felt like I was in a hotel bar, but it's a stand-alone cocktail lounge that feels incredibly intimate. The drinks were delicious (I ordered the margarita) and the server was kind! If you're in the mood for a great date night, go here!

Nimrat Johal: Booked a private event for my 30th. I’ve attended as a guest many times but hosting an event here is a 10/10 experience. The bartenders are exceptional, food is great and the servers… they make sure you and all your guests are taken care of. Stephen is great to work with and the hospitality manager Sarah was so professional. Would definitely recommend for all your event/party needs!

Dan Watkins: Julep has great cocktails and an extensive whiskey selection. I have had nothing but good experiences here, and am hopeful that it finds a way to persist in some form.I recommend their Sazerac, Old Fashioned, or Mint Juleps.

I used go here every week before I moved few years ago. I loved this place before and it makes me sad. I really hope they manage this place to improve.
Kaleb Young: Drinks were good but the service definitely left something to be desired. We waited 15 min, in an empty back room, before someone came by to take our order. Then had to wait another 20 min to get the check once our drinks were empty to get the check. We paid a large deposit for a reservation but we’re never told it was going to a charity instead of going to the tab. Which would’ve been fine if we had we been told beforehand but it felt misleading. I’ve had a good time at Julep in the past but recently it seems to have been on a downward trend.
Stephanie Simms: Made a reservation for the Halloween pop up, and it wasn't actually ready. Pretty disappointing that nothing mentioned it wasn't actually ready yet, and we were seated in the regular bar with some decorations on the table. We were seated at 5:45 and it seemed like our server intentionally didn't come by to take drink orders until after happy hour had ended.Drinks were fine. Small, and not particularly exciting. Seemed overpriced for what we received (especially the bar mix). The drink pictured was $26 to serve 2 and it filled those rocks glasses about 1/3. This will teach me not to be sucked in by a gimmick.Otherwise a very nice bar.

Holly Welsh: Beware of hidden fees. Our group of fourteen made a reservation for happy hour at 4:30 on a Wednesday. When we arrived, there were three patrons and a single employee sitting at the bar. We were instructed to sit wherever we would like. We pushed tables together at the far end of the restaurant and enjoyed our cocktails. Apparently, our reservation and our own efforts moving together tables warranted a 10% “coordination fee”. Ridiculous.

Kayla Jones-White: There was a black male bartender with pink hair who falsely accused my family and I of attempting not to pay our tab. I spoke to the Manager and he ultimately allowed us to stay in the establishment but the ordeal was humiliating. Especially considering we were coherent, and tipped will the entire night and paid our bills promptly. This is a night club that I frequent, but the manner in which I was treated by the black male bartender with pink hair was completely unacceptable and unwarranted.
Laneé Stro: I went to Ale House for Memorial Day weekend with my family to commemorate my late grandmother and a Black male bartender with pink hair accused my family and I of not paying for a tab. We eagerly tried to show him the invoice via bank statements on a phone, but he refused to service us and ordered security to remove us from the establishment. I have never been treated so poorly for something I didn’t do - and when we attempted to calmly explain ourselves we were accused of arguing. My cousin did talk to the manager who ultimately did say we could stay in the bar, but we were so humiliated that we just left.

Vince Kramer: Normally I would rate it much higher, but after going there to dance the night away, I paid $10 to get in and listen to Indian music. Nothing wrong with Indian music but not for a Saturday night at a place that is considered one of the better dance places in town. Even the drag show was not great with more drag kings than queens. Not a good night.

Joey Postema: Kheaton is such a good bartender. We’re visiting from San Diego. He had us laughing instantly and he gave us so much helpful information about visiting Kansas City. We felt so welcomed and comfortable at his bar in a city we’ve never been to. We bartend back home, but didn’t mention it until much later and he still treated us like family. It didn’t hurt that he definitely has the prettiest smile in this town, but it wasn’t just that which got me to write out some appreciation. Good hospitality is hard to find. He’s got it on point. Kiel Vargas-Belcher: Kheaton has truly made my experience in Kansas City the best. He is warm, friendly and inviting. He has gone above and beyond in making me and my friends feel welcome in a new city. I wish I could feel so welcome in every city I visit. The world would only be better with more Kheatons in it! I know I will be missing him not being a local bartender when I head home to California.
Chris Godfrey: A stable for Kansas City, the staff is really friendly, and drinks are inexpensive. The downside is that it feels a bit routine, both the music and acts, and can be seen as a bit dingy

Josanai Norfleet: TERRIBLE AT BEST! After buying multiple people drinks a bartender question why she didn’t get tipped. After explaining why and showing the remaining balance on our cards she proceeded to be rude telling to next bartender we didn’t tip her and not to serve us then called security to remove me and my friends. Explaining to security my friend didn’t have her card yet security started getting aggressive pulling and pushing. I was dragged out the bar by my legs on my birthday once the male security officer got me to the door bashed my head against the door then pushed me to the ground I left with a bloody gash in my eyebrow and bloody fingers from broken nails. Don’t go to this place every unprofessional
Destiny Grayer: HORRIBLE, first experience i was accused of having a fake ID , when im over 21 I don’t need a fake ID , i was aggressively removed from the front entrance i didn’t even make it to the hallway! As i was getting put out the security harassed me, called me out my name multiple time , yes i was angry but i didnt curse at them ! And as a professional you should know how to deal with situations that was wrong on they end! I was very disrespected! 2nd time a friend had a paper ID and she couldnt use that to get it and that okay but we had other people who had already went in and we asked nicely can they get them before we go but instead AGAIN THEY GET DISRESPECTFUL! Faith Thompson: Before the pandemic hit, I used to go here all the time with my friends. Afterwards of course not a lot of people go anymore because people are hesitant to still go out in public in general. But I’ve heard they have a tendency to overcharge you if you use a card for drinks but I’d never had that issue. Until last weekend. I got one drink for $10, and they charged me a total of 30 once posted. I left a voicemail and sent a message and still no response. I’ve never had an issue regarding something like this before With their establishment.the bartenders and security have always been nice but I doubt I will go back. Lori Michelsen: First time at the firefly lounge on Halloween and it was AMAZING. Staff was not only fast but super friendly. Best customer service I’ve received at a bar in awhile- Matthew was absolutely rocking it along with his other beautiful lady bartenders. Lindsay Thompson: Unsafe & sketchy is an understatement. First, a $750 minimum on a table that only seats 4 is insane (& a recipe for over drinking) but plans had already been in place so we reluctantly stayed. Then, I went outside w/ my friends still at table only for bouncer to refuse re-entry w/ no prior warning. When someone tried talking to the bouncer he was clearly on some sort of ego fueled power trip & ended up tackling the patron to the ground out of nowhere. Manager was apologetic & said bouncer has been known to do that so WHY is he still working there?! He’s lucky the customer was incredibly chill & didn’t press charges. Then as with what other customers are saying too, I wasn’t able to get my coat back from inside & their phone number doesn’t work so it’s impossible to get ahold of anyone. Not sure who is running this place but it is a disaster waiting to happen. Avoid it at all costs

kobe tran: Best DJ ever, place was packed though. I am from San Francisco, and this is probably one of the top 5 clubs I been to for the DJ. This is definitely the club to go to for the music in KC.

I quickly dubbed it a lost cause and got a new card.I am now getting declined charge emails from that old card meaning someone took it from behind the bar and has decided to try and use it for Amazon and Walmart purchases. One of those purchases was attempted at 12:12 this morning so I can only imagine that it was an online purchase to ring in the new year.
