These guys are great - once fabric was selected (with their help), they place you on their production schedule. We were so appreciative that they could select delivery date so accurately once they picked up our furniture. I talked with Chris and James, they said "no problem we will take care of it". Then we left on vacation. By the time we came back the couch was fixed and everything was perfect. Juan A.: This is skilled trade work like any other and you’re going to pay highly for it, but if your piece is an antique or too costly to replace like this ancient forklift seat ($1200 for a new one), you’ll be glad you used these guys. They got this done faster than I could go back to pick it up. Just email them your project and they’ll give you a quote pretty quickly. Face it-you’re never going to refurbish your grandma’s old chair. Just pay these guys the money and be done with it. Their location is worth driving to from anywhere in the metro and I’m pleased to see that this little stretch of KCK is looking really clean cut these days. I noticed that they have some vehicles in the back, so if you’d like to save yourself some backache, looks to me like they could just pick it up for you. I’ll definitely go back for the next project.

It was a very basic job - I accepted his quote and we matched the material and had pleasant conversations… when I tried to get in touch to check on the status of the order, he completely ghosted me. Zero response to numerous calls and emails. I’m mainly upset that I wasted so much time on this businesses. Maybe he got into some kind of accident, but it’s been two months now and nothing. Don’t waste your time here!

For the most part, the store was well organized. The bathrooms were not cleaned, but it was a Sunday and they were clearly short staffed with a very packed house. I do not recommend going on the weekend. There was 2 checkouts going...about a half hour in line. They do offer online ordering and in store pick up for 25% off. I will go back on a less busy day.

No matter of how busy or hectic it is the store, he is always pleasant and has a smile on his face.He lets us know of any good deals and coupons that are available and is very knowledgeable about the products. Besides the broad fabric selection, he’s the reason I keep coming back. We need more workers like him.

Carmen Sigler Benson: I wish I had read the reviews prior to my purchase. I heard the products were good and ordered a bedroom set for my daughter. I wait rather patiently month after month for my delivery date. When the date finally arrived they called the night before with a time. I rescheduled several things last minute and the morning of delivery they called to cancel and automatically rescheduled for the next day (I already had multiple appts). After hours on hold with West Elm, scheduling, and the warehouse I was told if I rescheduled and they took my items off the truck I'd have to wait several more months????? Every person I talked to already knew this process is broken and told me no one cares.
Daniel Park: I placed an order for a banquette set in October of 2022. The order was delivered in early March with several damaged and missing pieces. I was told that if I were to receive the balance of the replaced items it would not be delivered until July of 2023. I requested to cancel the order and be refunded as I am not going to wait another 5 months to receive this furniture. I was told I would be refunded. West Elm only refunded half of what I paid. I was told the balance of my refund would not be available until the replacement furniture was delivered in July....but I am not even buying the furniture. After telling them I did not buy the furniture from the 3rd party, I bought it from West Elm and carrying that furniture is their issue not mine, I am still waiting for my refund several weeks and multiple phone calls later. I keep having to call them for updates. They should be contacting me with updates. Just been a horrible experience and I feel like I am going to be wrestling them for the remainder of the refund for the foreseeable future....so frustrating.

I was curious what our level of service would be based off of that, and it was outstanding! The manager came up chatted us up and was extremely helpful. She showed us tons of different options gave us her card. It was extremely helpful kind and informative. Never felt any amount of snooty attitude. We’re looking to furnish our beach house, and will be using them to do so.

That is not what I asked for. I have been calling and emailing for 3 weeks to get the other 1700 back on my card! Nightmare!

We drove nearly 3 hours one way to see items in person that we’ve dreamed about seeing after shopping a lot online. Prior to making the order we thought let’s go to a store and see more in person.The staff here seems far from interested in assisting with any questions, or generally assisting throughout the store. Felt a little condescending at times. We made over 5 attempts to be helped and advance our purchase, and every single time she got up from her chair as if she was going to check on something for us, but didn’t come back to her computer until we proactively started browsing around again. We’d come back and then did the same thing, walk away from our conversation as if she needed to check something for us, and then she didn’t come back. Only Bs with other store associate.She was more interested in talking with her associates who were also not accompanying anyone else in store. At most times we were the only ones still in store browsing and helping ourselves while they BS’d amongst themselves, or just watched us walk around.I made it clear very early on that we were in to spend some money today, but the associate seemed to have no interest in helping us land the order, or assist in styles, colors, availability, etc. It was so obvious the last time she walked away from our questions and products of interest and didn’t return, that she really was not going to help us buy anything in store today.We may or may not buy from west elm after all, but if we do- it will be to St Louis or online only. I’ve had better service from an online associates in California than this KC location.Don’t waste your time here. The reviews speak for themself, unfortunately
Marla J: If you want to be talked down to by middle management and not be allowed to purchase items featured in the store then the west elm on the country club plaza is the place for you. One star is one too many.I was directed to this location while looking online before actually making the intended purchase in store. The store had this product on the sales floor. The computer inventory noted 3 in stock. At this point , one might foolishly think they could pay for this item and leave with it. One would be wrong. Did you know that west elm middle management can just declare an item "display only" and refuse to sell it to you? True story. Come to discover these recently established "displays" were "just set for a corporate visit next week" so I was not allowed to go home with one. Incidentally, the item I wanted to purchase was a planter pot...not a large piece of furniture ...not a custom piece...a planter (because one usually needs to see a pot in a "showroom" before committing to the purchase!?) This can only lead me to conclude that the optics for a corporate visit supersedes a paying customer. I was directed to go back home and order the item online forcing me to incur shipping charges. To be clear, I was in store. I was ready to purchase. I was shocked to find the middle management approach of selective service and terrible customer service to be sanctioned by their corporate office. I now know this because I called the customer service line and apparently they can just deny you product if they want to declare it display only. Online indicated it was in store to sell, as did another in-store associate (who was legit wonderful and helpful) but evidently Joseph can look at you and make a different call. Does this seem right at any level?! This product apparently only exists to put on a good show for corporate visits while actively sending customers away. When I tried to address this issue with Joseph he refused "to discuss it further". He wouldn't even offer to have it shipped to store at no charge but did let me know shipping would only cost me $18. As I stood a foot away from this look-but-don't-touch planter in a perfectly set display, he embodied sales prevention. I am shocked he has been employed at this location for any length of time let alone the years I have seen him there with his consistently apathetic approach toward pesky and dispensable customers. I am truly astonished and disheartened that the behavior of this individual is acceptable, encouraged, and allows for him to be in position of power / authority for others to learn from.I am not so naive to believe that my refusal to support such an establishment and company will negatively impact west elm, whose business model clearly does not value a paying customer, but the bar simply cannot and should not be this low. Take your money and your support elsewhere.
Julie Lutz: Never buy anything from West Elm that you can’t get in person at the store. If something is going to be delivered it will take forever. Their items are beautiful and well-made, but it took them a year to deliver our chairs. After reaching out to them multiple times to find out the status of the order, they would tell us that they had a vendor making the chairs, and so they couldn’t provide any details. Finally after a year when we tried to cancel, that item shipped. This is a common experience, their delivery is horrible. I keep getting sucked in because their items are so beautiful, but after every purchase, I think to myself I can never get something from the store again. But taking a year to get a product is the last straw. I’m telling everyone not to buy from them, because they seem unable to produce products that they advertise on their website.

Phil Bo: Here a little story of how it is like to order from west elm in 2021/22…We ordered knowing our delivery date was supposed to be October or November latest. Now it is February and we are sitting here with HALF a bed. Buyer beware. They advertise for things they cannot deliver…. Their delivery service is even worse.Ryder scheduled 5 times before they came out and that means they send 3 emails, 4 phone calls and 3 texts to confirm, but surprise they don’t show up.Then they call you again to schedule a delivery and same thing countless phonically texts emails and surprise surprise no package.They started scheduling in December, however we didn’t get the package till January and the morning of, the call: we are bringing you part 1 …WHAT? Oh yeah you are getting the second half next week we couldn’t fit it on the truck. I was patient, but guess what they lost the second half.Not only did they lose it, but also did they still try to schedule this 3 times. I was at home waiting … they didn’t show … I had to call to find out they lost it. OH yeah and they do not deliver without signature even if you request so I had to take of work too for them not to show up…Still waiting on my second half, it is now February. I contacted west elm multiple time to resolve this and here is what they offered me: Second half in March 12-24 … WOW…You be the judge. I think this is unacceptable and very unprofessional. Then I tried to cancel and get a refund. Not only do I have to deal with a lady in India that doesn’t speak English, but also do they say this: you can have a refund, but you won’t receive it until we PICK UP the other half of the bed….. Are they crazy ? SO they can pick up the half and go through all this but not get me my other half?Here is my conclusion…. NEVER BUYING FROM THEM AND TELLING EVERYONE … Please support your local carpenter and furniture maker we need to end giving these monopoly companies and china our money…

I guess I do not ‘fit’ their look. (I was in sandals and a tank top)Fortunately, the concierge at my hotel referred me to NFM, where I not only found what I was looking for but, decided on upgrading several other rooms, as well. $14,000 later, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and will take my business there from now on.

The furniture is beautiful, good service from in-store reps but customer service post-purchase has been totally inexistent. If you don't call to find out what's going on, you will never hear from them after your purchase, seriously! One time they told us the furniture was still at LAX, the next that they didn't know where one of the sectional pieces was, the next the furniture had already arrived and no one seemed to bother to call us to schedule delivery. The furniture takes not weeks but MONTHS longer than the projected date to arrive. Nevertheless I have been paying for the furniture since I ordered it. I called today for my last piece of furniture and they told me it had arrived at the beginning of the month but once again no one bothered to call. It happened exactly the same way with my previous purchases. Customer service post-purchase I insist is inexistent, I just called their delivery service because West Elm simply does not care to make sure the delivery is arranged for the customer. The delivery service said, "we will call you back in 10 minutes to set it up and I'm still waiting 3 hours later." If you don't believe all the reviews in this page, do a quick search on google for trustpilot reviews. Stay away from this place, try the designer store from NFM, Ethan Allen, Thomasville or even Restoration Hardware, anything! You will save yourself lots of anguish and headaches.

Haley Wightman: Absolutely ridiculous process they have for returns on wedding registry items when you go to the store. They told me I had to put my returned items on an e-gift card since they don’t have store gift cards, which was fine but I waited for hours for the email to come since I wanted to use the store credit on other items and it never came through. I asked them to recheck my email I gave to them and they told me they don’t have my email on file so they shipped it my address and should have it in a week or so. So frustrating when I wanted to spend the credit the day I returned the items.

We discussed many options and variety of leather colors, pricing, etc. after visiting a few other stores in the area, it was refreshing to finally have some level of customer service while furniture shopping today.

Jon: Do not buy from here. They have an awful record of providing what they say they will and pitiful customer service. After talking with others it is a common occurrence, evidenced by the reviews.In November of 2021 I ordered a crib. Expected arrival April 1, 2022 and our crib is now officially 21+ days late. In addition, our delivery that was scheduled for today came and the crib was damaged.Not only have I spent hours of my time on calls with customer service, but our card was charged on March 8th with no one able to provide us adequate delivery timeline answers. In fact they have a new excuse every time for why they can’t provide an updated timeline. The customer service team we just called had quite possibly the most insulting “solution” - a “loaner crib” set to arrive at some point in the future as the team is sick and they don’t know when they’ll be able to ship it out. Oh and no real compensation or anything their. This is beyond unacceptable for a luxury furniture brand at the price we paid.I am beyond perplexed by the incompetence in this matter. I don’t know how this brand is able to charge these prices, yet have such poor service.See attached pictures of this damaged crib.

Aidan Birmingham: Pottery Barn offered some of the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could give zero stars, I would. We ordered a crib for our son at the beginning of October because it said it would be here in November, before our baby was born. Then the order was pushed back to December, then later in December, then January, then February. We were never informed about shipping delays until we called the store multiple times to ask what was going on. In February, we finally got an email about setting up a time for delivery. I called the number PB provided. They then sent me to a third party deliver company, which was fine. After being transferred to them, the delivery company informed me that PB had transferred us to the incorrect location for our area. They then transferred me to 4 different delivery locations because they couldn’t figure out which one delivered to my area. By the time I got to speak to the last location, they informed me that they don’t even deliver Pottery Barn and haven’t for 6 years. I then called PB back and let them know and asked for a way to set up delivery AGAIN. They then informed me that the status of “ready to be delivered”, was incorrect and that our order had actually been CANCELLED because they lost it!!! They then informed me that they had reordered a new one for us a week prior, without even telling us about it! We were never informed that it was lost, cancelled, or reordered. We finally ended up cancelling the entire thing all together because the new crib wasn’t supposed to come in until the end of April! (Which probably wouldn’t have even happened anyway). Highly regret ordering from Pottery Barn in the first place and wish we had ordered from somewhere else. That would have saved us from this entire mess and leaving our son without a crib for two months. Will definitely never be ordering from them again.

Fast forward 5 months later and I am still waiting on our bed they emailed me it was going to be delayed another month! Our mattress has been on the floor this entire time! I love their furniture but because of this will never be purchasing from them again! How does it take 5 months to deliver your furniture!?! All customer service said in response was sorry yeah we are still waiting on parts. I even tried to inquire about a different bed hoping it would be available and come sooner and they said I would essentially be starting over. Update: when the bed finally did arrive after waiting 6 months the guys putting it together screwed through the bed frame cracking it and they didn’t properly install the headboard so it wobbles.

When I went to check out I stood at the counter for a little over a minute while 3 associates carried on a conversation. I was then directed to another check out counter where the cashier was less than helpful. I attempted to sign up for rewards I've I recently spent over $600 in this particular store. For whatever reason my phone number wouldn't register even tho I have had a membership some years ago. Aftwe being prompted to retry my number by the cashier all she did was ring me out with no attempt to assist to ensure my account was active. I has just re-registered my number using their text for rewards program. When I asked if I could later use my receipts to acquire the points I had just earned the cashier then rudely exclaimed it would have to be done online. Well clearly that would be the case..I just wanted to ensure I could get points for my second purchase!! I will not return to this store anytime soon. To the gentleman that helped me Sunday before last, thank you for providing exceptional customer service.
Amanda Link: Purchased a table online and went to this location for pick up. We had a specific 30 minute check in window to notify the store when we were arriving.After 15 minutes of waiting for assistance, the staff first brought out the incorrect table. Another 15 minutes passed and the staff finally brought out the correct table. I felt the store could have definitely been more organized with their orders instead of trying to give us a completely different table.
