Avery Epstein: The food was fantastic. We did not know what to expect but everyone enjoyed their meal. I got the pork/pork belly, and the meat was cooked perfectly. My stepmother doesn't really eat red meat, but she said if she lived in KC, she would come back every month just to eat the Friday special (she is from Chicago). If you have the chance (and it is not too hot), sit outside! The beer garden is beautifully done!

Linda Rounds: Great BBQ!!! Can't remember the name of the sandwich waiter recommended and not listed on the online menu. It had burnt ends, sausage and their homemade slaw. We ordered burnt ends and grits along with their cornbread hush puppies. Then the peach bread pudding and cream brulee was wonderful. Everything looked so good we way over ordered and took half home to heat up later. Would rate this way over some of the older BBQ places in KC. Great service and were very knowledgeable of their menu.

Brandon Lassiter: The food was delicious! Tender burnt ends, moist ribs, and flavorful brisket along side some yummy bbq beans and potato salad. The side upgrade to french fries is well worth $1 as the fries are amazing (comparable to KC Joes). Our server Joe B was outstanding and enhanced our experience with an uplifting and kind personality! It was a hot day but the umbrella gave us shade and the water kept us cool. We shall return!

In my opinion none of the places in KC (MO or KS) that I have tried can touch Char Bar! By far the best I have had and will definitely be back! Royce Shields: Upon arrival the place was really nice. Once seated we placed our orders. We waited about 45 mins before getting the two appetizers that were ordered. After about another 20 mins or so the waitress approached the table and informed us that she placed the order incorrectly(Unfortunately she didn’t provide us a name so can’t exactly who she was) but when asked about how long it would be before the food would come, she stated “well you ordered 3 steaks, rolled her eyes and walked off”(mind you all the steaks were 6oz) she also brought me a child’s orange juice and when she returned for refills I asked for more juice and she stated “well they said they ran out of juice”, as if that’s my fault. She could have said this and I could have ordered something else! We then we asked for a manager and asked the same about time frame on receiving food, because now we’ve waited over an hour, and with no response. He then stated “you did order steaks and your orders all needed extra accommodations, but not going to go back and forth with you we are working on getting it out to you, it’s only been placed 20 mins ago and walked off”…I am a manager myself and never would treat guest in this manner we then as a party of 9 decided to leave. It was very clear that other tables were a priority over others, but even as nice as the place displayed its self to be, we will not return to this location. There were guest that arrived after us and who spoke to us outside of the restaurant as they waited for the rest of their party, they got in received food and was leaving within the time of us asking about receiving our order. Ruined the birthday girls day for sure, currently looking for another place to eat. Worst visit ever!!!!
Lovey Carvin: My family of (9) went here for brunch and celebrating a birthday, while we arrived @ 1130 for our reservation was promptly seated at 1139(no problem) however once seated the sever(which I don’t recall her name) took almost 20mins to greet us! Took our drink orders took a while returning with drinks, promptly after we placed our food order roughly 12:15, waited patiently server returned to our table @ 12:40 stating it was a mishaps between her putting in the order & the kitchen staff! Never apologized for the mess up! I then approached the manager adv him of the issue.He begin to tell me we ordered steaks and etc, mindful of that however the fact the serve & manager both responded w/attitude’s & unprofessional mannerUNACCEPTABLE, clear to see In the environment was prioritized by color. A family bigger then our party arrived and was seated same time as our party & was leaving and served when we decided to leave the establishment.Sadden first time here and will never return

Hannah Taylor: We met some family here for brunch a few weeks back and it was really disappointing. I had been looking forward to it for a very long time and heard great things. Our service was okay and the place was beautiful but there was long periods in between being checked on and the food was extremely underwhelming. I got the diablo and it was okay but wasn't really spicy nor had a lot of flavor and my boyfriend's french toast looked unappetizing. Definitely not worth the $70+ I spent on the two of us... Maybe we should have come for dinner instead.

Dan Watkins: Julep has great cocktails and an extensive whiskey selection. I have had nothing but good experiences here, and am hopeful that it finds a way to persist in some form.I recommend their Sazerac, Old Fashioned, or Mint Juleps.

I used go here every week before I moved few years ago. I loved this place before and it makes me sad. I really hope they manage this place to improve.
Kaleb Young: Drinks were good but the service definitely left something to be desired. We waited 15 min, in an empty back room, before someone came by to take our order. Then had to wait another 20 min to get the check once our drinks were empty to get the check. We paid a large deposit for a reservation but we’re never told it was going to a charity instead of going to the tab. Which would’ve been fine if we had we been told beforehand but it felt misleading. I’ve had a good time at Julep in the past but recently it seems to have been on a downward trend.
Stephanie Simms: Made a reservation for the Halloween pop up, and it wasn't actually ready. Pretty disappointing that nothing mentioned it wasn't actually ready yet, and we were seated in the regular bar with some decorations on the table. We were seated at 5:45 and it seemed like our server intentionally didn't come by to take drink orders until after happy hour had ended.Drinks were fine. Small, and not particularly exciting. Seemed overpriced for what we received (especially the bar mix). The drink pictured was $26 to serve 2 and it filled those rocks glasses about 1/3. This will teach me not to be sucked in by a gimmick.Otherwise a very nice bar.

Holly Welsh: Beware of hidden fees. Our group of fourteen made a reservation for happy hour at 4:30 on a Wednesday. When we arrived, there were three patrons and a single employee sitting at the bar. We were instructed to sit wherever we would like. We pushed tables together at the far end of the restaurant and enjoyed our cocktails. Apparently, our reservation and our own efforts moving together tables warranted a 10% “coordination fee”. Ridiculous.

Betsy Mattison: Can’t believe I’ve lived in this city my whole life and just now tried Eddie V’s. You can tell by the abundance of staff that they take their business very seriously. From valet to our waitress, everything was excellent. Lobster tacos, crab cake, patron margarita and king crab legs were all top notch. I hate we don’t remember our waitresses name because she was lovely and deserves recognition for her great service. We will be back soon, thanks for making our anniversary extra special!
Princesses of the 417 Company: Beautiful inviting atmosphere, very upscale but not too stiff. Erica was our phenomenal waiter, but all of the staff was efficient and kind/courteous. The food and dessert was perfect. My 5 year old remarked that the restaurant was so fancy and he wished he was wearing and bowtie. Erica emerged moments later with her own bowtie from her uniform and put it on him. It made him feel so special. The whole experience was over the top and wonderful, our bellies and hearts are full!
Tom Dougherty: Super professional staff all around. The Front of house got us checked in and appeared to move everyone through quite efficiently. Our server Steven went the extra mile to take care of us. My wife got queasy about the time we arrived, and he saved the experience for us. I think 5s all around are appropriate. Tuna was great, scallops were solid. Drinks were on point (with some of Steven's advice/ executive decision making)

E Ed: Took the kids here last weekend. They said it was around a 4.5. Favorite things were the calamari, crab fried rice, and steak. Least favorite things were the salmon, and bananas foster.Servers were profesional and friendly, and the atmosphere was casual. No dress code as far as we could tell.They said they would go again.

Vince Kramer: Normally I would rate it much higher, but after going there to dance the night away, I paid $10 to get in and listen to Indian music. Nothing wrong with Indian music but not for a Saturday night at a place that is considered one of the better dance places in town. Even the drag show was not great with more drag kings than queens. Not a good night.

Joey Postema: Kheaton is such a good bartender. We’re visiting from San Diego. He had us laughing instantly and he gave us so much helpful information about visiting Kansas City. We felt so welcomed and comfortable at his bar in a city we’ve never been to. We bartend back home, but didn’t mention it until much later and he still treated us like family. It didn’t hurt that he definitely has the prettiest smile in this town, but it wasn’t just that which got me to write out some appreciation. Good hospitality is hard to find. He’s got it on point. Xoxo thanks for helping us appreciate this city. He also got it goin on downstairs.
Kiel Vargas-Belcher: Kheaton has truly made my experience in Kansas City the best. He is warm, friendly and inviting. He has gone above and beyond in making me and my friends feel welcome in a new city. I wish I could feel so welcome in every city I visit. The world would only be better with more Kheatons in it! I know I will be missing him not being a local bartender when I head home to California.
Chris Godfrey: A stable for Kansas City, the staff is really friendly, and drinks are inexpensive. The downside is that it feels a bit routine, both the music and acts, and can be seen as a bit dingy
Kaiden N Hammond: Nice atmosphere & staff, just pretty pricey drinks. The bar tender I encountered also kept more of my money than he was supposed to, but...oh well. Still had a fun time tho :)
