Andrea Budd: We were in the area and wanted breakfast, it was after 1030 so searched for places near by still serving breakfast and a few places came up. Boy, am I glad we chose to eat here! The egg and bacon sandwich was delicious and my son got a burger and he said it was really good. We will definitely be coming back again soon. FYI they are cash ONLY. Jsssica Henderson: My daughter's birthday was yesterday. We drove 3 hours to go to this place, only to be turned away. When we arrived, we didn't realize you had to have a reservation to see the cats. That could have been my fault, as I did not read through their entire website. The girl at the counter didn't greet us, was completely rude and when I explained the situation, just said "well. Sorry." And walked away. Again, it's fine. My fault for not knowing the reservation situation, but the attitude was uncalled for. I told my 10 year old that we could order a drink and just sit down for a bit before going to find something else to do. We ordered and again, the lady was completely rude. The cappuccino was terrible. My daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate. It felt like we were unwelcome and she just wanted us to leave. We found another cat cafe in liberty called sugar kittens and it was MUCH more what we were looking for. If you're wanting a "kid friendly" type of cat cafe, Sugar Kittens is just that. They had all sorts of sweet treats, boba tea, coffee, icecream, and they were so very welcoming. They made my daughters day.If you're looking for a basic, stuffy, subpar coffee shop, then give whiskers a try.

They know next to nothing about the cats they have available, they can't even tell you if a cat is up for adoption, they DO NOT call you if a cat gets taken out from under you and expect you to pay 12.50 per person EVERY time you go to look even if its their fault that you have go back there.They do not answer phone calls, voice mails, or emails. They do not communicate at all about your supposed "schedule back time". I'm not even sure how this place remains running, it should not be an adoption facility.A shame because we were really wanting to adopt a cat, but they just do not care at all about their adopters; only the money they can get from you.

Their food and drinks are delicious and priced well. The cats are friendly and the highlight of your stay! They're very friendly and easy to become friends with. They'll sit on your lap too! Definitely recommend!Parking: They have a parking lot in the back that is free for customers.

Julia Janda: I’ve been here multiple times and the staff is always so friendly! I of course love seeing all of the cats & love knowing that they’re all up for adoption. I brought my elderly mom in recently, & the Whiskers staff were very helpful and friendly to her as we used the accessible entrance into the cat lounge. Going here is always a huge highlight for my mom & myself & I am extremely thankful.
Mr G: Awesome place!Grab a cup of coffee and get your pet on. The cafe offers a good selection of drinks. Order a specialty latte named after one of the resident cats.Make sure you make a reservation, they only allow a certain number of people in the cat lounge to not overwhelm the kitties. You do not need a reservation to go in for some coffee, only for the cat lounge.We missed the part about the reservation but we got lucky that they had someone drop and we were able to sign up.You get a thirty minute window to go in to the room. You can pet the resting cats, have them climb onto your lap, or play around with the energetic kittens. They have resident cats and also cats that are up for adoption. My favorite guy was Sir Grumps, beautiful chonker cat with a chill attitude. I did not know what a chonker was but we read a cool little book about it in the cafe while we waited for our turn.They also have a little store where you can pick up art, snacks, toys, coffee and clothing items. The cafe offers some games and books to keep you busy or to enjoy your coffee and pastry. They also offer cat yoga on Tuesdays.Enjoy y'all!

Forrest Clopton: We LOVE this place. The only draw back is the lack of real grass. My dog loves the coolness of stretching out in grass and there is none here, everything is gravel or turf.My dog also likes playing rough with bigger dogs. He has a hard time doing that here because the employees are so on top of their game they “rescue” my little guy before he even gets the chance to play rough.There is the occasional dog owner that gets over dramatic but you’ll find that at most dog parks. Just part of the territory.The food here is good too. However, we tried ordering a side of waffle fries with beer cheese for dipping and was told if we wanted to do this it would be about $20 because of the way the employee had to place the order in the system. This made no sense to me. So we decided to pass.Their hamburgers are fresh and taste homemade.Their member perks are great too. We went a couple Mondays back to find they had the summer menu out for members to try for free. Which was amazing.
Eric Eggers: Food quality was good but a bit expensive, plus cover charge per pet a bit high though humans are free to enter which is nice. Cocktails good and goos pricing. Ran into a themed day for greyhound meet-up which was also awesome.
Dan Ragland: Awesome place. Bring your dog to run and play. Enjoy a beverage (I highly recommend the bloody Mary) and munch on some tasty eats inside or out.

Bailey Campbell: This place was a lot better ran when it first opened. You should hear the things the managers say about their employees. I can only imagine what is said about the guests and people that pay money to keep this place open. Concept is great but they will run this location into the ground if they continue the way it has been the last year. Much better FREE dog parks in the area that are not cash grabs and you won’t have to worry about managers saying derogatory things about their people and your pups. We miss Jade, Bar K was at its peak when she was around.

3 day spoiled milk left on the sofa: Me and my friends came here for my friends 21st birthday no problems at all and enjoyed it quite a bit. Came here again after recommending it to a friend and the same bartender that served us on the night of my friends 21st, took my friends LEGAL government issued I.D. looked at it for at least 2 minutes and said “sorry I’m not taking that I can’t serve you guys” and wouldn’t even look at the rest of our I.D.s. Don’t waste your time coming here if you’re younger. Clearly they don’t want your business.

We ordered burnt ends and grits along with their cornbread hush puppies. Then the peach bread pudding and cream brulee was wonderful. The side upgrade to french fries is well worth $1 as the fries are amazing (comparable to KC Joes). In my opinion none of the places in KC (MO or KS) that I have tried can touch Char Bar! By far the best I have had and will definitely be back! Matthew Winningham: Loud. If you are 30 and under, this is probably a great place, but otherwise, if you want to have conversation, this is not the place to go. Service was actually decent and our waitress was nice. But the music, and consequently the voices, were too loud for us to hear each other at our table. Also, not many draft beer choices. Prices seemed decent.

Failed to give us an itemized receipt and when we got one there were 2 drinks on there that we didn’t even get. She almost gave my friends debit card to another table. Love this place but the service tonight was awful.

Alex: If I could rate zero stars I would. Bartender charged me for 3 extra drinks and then tried to kick me out because I said I was overcharged. I would not go here unless you enjoy theft. Seriously, the bartender "Anna" will actually rob you, be wary.
Localfocal KC: This has become my favorite Independence bar. The crowd is more youthful than most Independence bars. They have 2 billiards tables ; a jukebox with a wide range of music ; large backyard patio.
