Robin Jones: This review is not about the cupcakes themselves. I don't know how they taste. They may be delicious. However, my family and I didn't get a chance to try them. We took a trip to the plaza to see the lights and get dessert from Cupcake A La Mode, checking to see what time they closed first. When we arrived at 8:30 we were surprised to find the door locked and the woman inside not reacting to our efforts to come in since they weren't supposed to close for another 1/2 hour. Very poor business practices which means they lost this customer.Edit: You might want to reflect the winter hours on your website then.

Arianna Middlebrook: Worst sense of customer service at this location. You’re much better off taking your money to their Lees Summit location. I ordered half a dozen cupcakes 5 days before the pick up date. They called me 30 mins before the pickup time to tell me they were “sold out” of the cupcake flavor I had put an order in for. They said they “sold out 3 days ago” but if that was the case then why not relay that info to your customer when it occurred? Knowing that there was already an order in place. When I asked why it was not communicated to me earlier, the employee said she had no idea about the order and that the manager, Jennifer oversees all of it. (Terrible communication all around I guess). When I asked for some form of compensation for the inconvenience the employee said “I don’t know why it’s a big deal when we have other flavors”.... not taking into consideration the food allergens that prevent me from ordering others which I had already informed them about. 0/10 service and I would not recommend placing orders here at all.
Lesa Gilbert: We purchased cupcakes at Cupcake A La Mode over the last five years, and we've always been happy with all of the cupcakes. This weekend, I purchased a dozen for a holiday gathering with several of the holiday flavors. we recommend the gingerbread and hot chocolate cupcakes.

Fabiola Herdoiza: Wow...just got off the phone after trying to place an order online. When I was going to pay, a warning came up that it was not a secure form. They did give an option to call the Plaza store directly to pay. I called and was told the order hadn't come through and they were too busy to write it down and take it over the phone. I got a confirmation a few minutes later and called after half an hour. I was told they would call back in a way that did not make me feel like they valued me as a customer ..more like I was bothering them. It was a small order of only four cupcakes, but I don't think that should impact the quality of service. This woman was very unhelpful and bordering on rude She did call back and asked for my credit card number, expiration date, and security code. I was not comfortable giving my security code and asked why they didn't use a more secure form? She said, you are welcome to go somewhere else, because she hadno time for this.I am going somewhere else.I like their cupcakes but I will never order from them again because I don't like how I was treated...life is too short.
Alisha Stephan: I ordered three different kinds of these off Doordash and they were three of the best cupcakes that I have ever tried. The Golddigger was super moist and full of flavor, the wedding cake one of the most delicious cakes and frosting combo I have ever had together, and the other is Salty Carmella and OMG!!! I love to support local and this made it easy with how fresh and tastey these all were.

Ebony Bernard: Walked in today, was PLEASANTLY greeted, she was kind, also gave me a RED VELVET cupcake omg, the FROSTING (Might I add, I do NOT eat frosting) was sooooo good. The cupcake was moist, delicious, and soft. I definitely will be back to take kids. Forgot to mention I was picking up a DD order, so her kindness meant the world to me. Definitely 5 star experience

jeanine jones: I used to live in the area some 30 years ago...I would take my daughter up there...now when ever I’m in the area I always have to stop in for the butter cookies...today was the first time I went to use my bank card and was told it was cash only...I never knew that because I always used cash in the past...the gentleman that served me gave me my purchase and said just pay for it next time you come back...with all the things going on in the world today that really touched my heart...ok course I went and got the cash and came back and paid...these people are always so nice...I love the energy in the store...keep up the great service...see ya soon!

Ana Chavarria: Good vibe. It is my first time getting Matcha Latte and I couldn't taste anything... I had to put stevia to at least feel that I was drinking sweet cold milk. Salmon toast was ok but nothing impressive. Chocolate cookie had a good texture. I had a good time while having breakfast and reading. They have a good seating area. So overall it is ok, I was not impressed with the food. Maybe I'll come back to try something else.
Audrey Kuhn: Usually love this place but as someone with food allergies, I wish they would change ingredients on menu when they update items. I can’t eat onions and usually their chicken salad doesn’t have onions but I just ordered it (I’ve had in hundreds of times before ) and it has onions all over it. That ingredient isn’t on their ingredient list for it.

CDub 1962: We love McClains. Been going there for over 30 years! All of their danishes are the same formula and as delicious as they were back when the McClains owned it. One thing that bothers me though is they always run out of sticky buns before 930 am and that's the way it's been ever since the new owners took over. That shouldn't happen. Simply make more of them so they last till 11 please. We will always keep buying their danishes because there is nothing like them anywhere.

I was very impressed with the service on how they made and designed it just like the photo I sent. The cake tasted amazing, and all of my family and friends who attended my birthday party were saying how delicious it was and tasted. I definitely will be reaching out to Cake-A-Boo in the future for specialized cakes.

We were in KC for the weekend only, so I’m hoping there are plans to bring a Cake-a-Boo 2 to St. Louis someday soon! We threw a surprise birthday party for my best friend and I have her a little detail as to colors and what she would like and without even knowing bestfriend she nailed it! I was more then satisfied and everyone one else loved it as well the taste it was perfectly spongy and soft but stunning! There were some hiccups along the way with technically computer errors but she worked with me with only realizing within a couple days that I needed it that the email didn’t go through and still went above an beyond! So lovely and the sweetest person I have had the pleasure working with! Very understanding and caring I just... words cannot describe how amazed I was with the cake, the service just everything was great! Most importantly the birthday girl was more the surprise and more than over joyed! I could not be happier! I already had the cake topper picked out but even without it, it would have been stunning!

Ivan Caballero: All year round traditional sweet bread and pastries are top notch. The seasonal treats for every Hispanic traditional date are fantastic and the taste is unbelievable, truly authentic taste! Rosca de reyes in January and Pan de muerto in November are a most. All year round conchas, orejas, manetcadas are my personal favorites, you cannot go wrong with anything you pick. Bolillos for your tortas and pambazos are also not to be missed. Cakes are great too!!

Alex I: The Littlest Bake Shop is fantastic. My girlfriend and I have been going here for the past four years despite living 20~30 minutes away. Iris is a uniquely talented chef/baker, has been nothing but kind, and goes above and beyond to accommodate our allergies. Staff has always been super friendly. I seriously feel that this should be a nationwide chain -- we've never had anything there that wasn't absolutely incredible.

Wei Styer (Wu): Super cute little gluten-free and vegan bake shop! They change out their flavors, so there are new, exciting things to try - and the girls who work there are very friendly about offering suggestions! We got (from left) the lemon bar, green tea & chamomile, and mint chip cupcakes, which were all great!The lemon was lightly flavored and not overpowering, and the mint chip was similarly balanced. They were all moist cakey, despite being vegan and gluten free.There are a few small tables with seating inside, and there's an outdoor area that I imagine has seating outdoors when the weather is nicer. Very cute and sweet little bake shop, literally and figuratively.
Anne Lindsey: Friendly service and nice atmosphere. I had The Missouri. I am pretty picky about tofu scramble, but I'm glad I tried theirs. It was delicious. Will definitely visit again.
Greer Gerni: This gluten-free vegan bakery is a dream come true. Every single person at my house on Christmas Eve agreed the cardamom rose cupcake was the best of their lives...you should have heard the squeals of surprise when I told them they were also gf and vegan. This is not a place to "settle on" if you have dietary restrictions and want a treat. It's a place for something really special. Everything is so carefully made and the flavors are delicately balanced. I ate a quarter of a cupcake FIVE days after picking it up and it was still moist and delicious. As a bonus, they have strict health and safety precautions for increased accessibility!
Darcy Besch: I placed an order for a Christmas celebration with my family, which has a wildly long list of allergies. I can’t tell you how much it meant to me to share a cake, particularly with my uncle who is so used to saying “I can’t have that.” Iris worked with me to create something special that would meet my family’s needs.Pictured is a mint chocolate cake that is made with tapioca starch and magic. I’m not personally gluten free or vegan myself, but my whole family and I loved it. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Hayden Walls: The two cupcakes I ordered were good except I got a HAIR in one of them and it was disgusting. You couldn't go inside and the lady told me it was going to only take a few minutes because I ordered a latte and two premade cupcakes, but I stood outside in the cold for 10 to 15 minutes.

Instead, they put the bulk of their efforts into great service, exceptional cake flavors and amazing designs. Their fruity pebbles large donut holes we amazing; we are still talking about them hours later. Their cinnamon roll bread is already gone, along with the brioche cream cheese cinnamon rolls we picked up. I purchased one of their dark chocolate chip sea salt cookie- one of the softest best cookies I have eaten.

Puddlemom Pool: In search of a croissant locally that would compare with those in Paris. This is not it. 1st, what would cost between $1.20-$2.80 in Paris Bloom charged $4 and it was 2/3 of the size.It was a nice flaky layers, but it didn't taste buttery and certainly not worth the steep price. Also, had the $5 chocolate croissant and it also was smaller size and only had one bar of chocolate. The chocolate was tasty and good quality, but for $5 it should have been larger and had more chocolate.
Matthew Trowbridge: There's apple and cherry Danish are the best I've ever had. A must place to stop by at the river market.
A Hitchcock: I needed to take some treats to a very good customer of mine. The place I originally picked did not open until 11:00 am. I saw that Bloom Baking Co. opened up early, so I took a chance and drove across KC. to get there. It's a small place, but had what I wanted. The lady behind the counter was more than willing to put together a couple of boxes filled with Brownies, chocolate chunk, oatmeal-rasin, peanut-butter cookies, and peanut butter bars. Yes, it was on the expensive side, but my customer was very impressed. I can't tell you how they tasted, but they all looked amazing. I will buy from them again, but will call in advance to make it easier for them. They were very friendly.

After inquiring online & our tasting, Sarah quickly set-up an in-person meeting to review our ideas, make suggestions & put together an invoice. Sarah & her team were incredibly thoughtful & considerate of both our desires & budget. Thank you Bloom Baking Company for creating such a delightful dessert experience for us & our guests. Not a bite went to waste! Our only regret is not ordering more! Looking forward to the next time I can taste Bloom!
