Lindsey Smith: I ordered a very small cake for my husband's birthday on Thursday. I was told they would call me if they could not accommodate me. Having not received a call, on Saturday I drove an hour to pick it up only to be told they weren't able to make it.

The lone barista today was working his butt off to get everyone taken care of and today is apparently temporarily their last day until they can get more people hired. :(. He was so apologetic for the short wait that I had, all I could do was assure him that he was a rockstar and I made sure to tip really really high!

Leah Bernstein: Sadly MudPie's quality of product and quality of service has gone downhill rapidly in the last year. The baked goods that were once delicious are now filled with undesirable and odd textures and flavors. The service and management are downright terrible. They are rude to customers and leave their staff overworked. We went in today Sunday 3/27 with only one person working. A line out the door didn't deter us. After waiting in line a while we were able to place our order, which the barista got wrong. I used to love this place and go all the time. Supporting vegan businesses is important to me! I am so sad to see the change in service and product. I would suggest the management revaluate how they are doing things and for god sake bring back the old baker or something! On a positive note, I appreciate that they still require masks!!
Shannon Novak: Going vegan, the one thing I missed the most was top notch baked goods... and then I found Mud Pie! I recommend this place to everyone, vegan or not. Their baked goods are seriously some of the best I've ever had. And on top of providing amazing food, they show a great commitment to their community. I just love everything about them.

Sydney Bernstein: I have been a customer at mudpie for many years. It was my partners first time. I usually love their chai and baked good. We recently went to mudpie at noon on a Sunday. We ordered online and picked up at the window because I feel claustrophobic inside their shop. The employees attitude made it seem like we were burdening them. The drinks were subpar at best. My chai was not strained and I ended up with unappetizing bits of tea in my mouth. My partner got some baked goods. When we got to the car the donuts were completely smushed together. The cupcakes icing was smeared everywhere. It was an overall disappointing experience. Overall we had a negative experience and my partner feels no need to try mudpie again.

Delroy Payne: Extremely terrible service! The don't even deserve a star. There was this caucasian kid behind the counter serving me, early 20's black hair cut short. At first no one was at the counter. I had to call back there, "hello?" I placed my order with him about 11:30 am. He told me they did not have my selection available and although it only takes 3 minutes to cook them he stated, he was busy and, had other things to do, and give him 30 minutes. I did not appreciate that statement but I said, ok I will come back. He then said maybe an hour... I looked at him, and then he said maybe you should just come back tomorrow. I left the dabacled restaurant. I own a restaurant and this what these ignorant young people are doing to destroy business, when a truly mature lead is not present.He needs to be fired. No telling what they are doing to the food. I will never buy from there again.I will.also post this on Facebook, Instagram and BBB until that Joker is fired. I drove 40 minute away for this type of service. Shameful.

Chris McCurley: First experience here was Draft Weekend and was great. 2nd experience not so much! Stopped by after a concert at T-Mobile (around 10:30pm) and girl standing outside the entrance said they were closed due to them running out of cookies. 3rd experience same as 2nd! Stopped by after Impractical Jokers show at T-Mobile and they are closed again. Seems like they need to plan better! Need to change their hours to closing at 10pm if they’re not going to actually be open when it says they should be!

It's one of my favorite places to go for a sweet treat. They have so many delicious flavors to choose from, from classics like chocolate and vanilla to creative ones like lavender honey and brown butter pecan. They also have some unique flavors that are only available in Kansas City, like the KC burnt ends & sauce ice cream, which is made with Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que. The ice cream is creamy and rich, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is cozy and fun. I heard that Betty Rae's is recently under new ownership, and I hope that nothing changes with the quality and variety of their ice cream. Betty Rae's is a gem in Kansas City, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves ice cream.

Na- Na: This is a pretty nice Ice Cream shop. They offer milkshakes as well, which is what I went for. I got a Butter Pecan small sized milkshake which was good, the price is a bit much for the portion, but it’s not terribly unreasonable. It was about $7. It’s a pretty good vibe and nice looking space but if it gets crowded it’s not as enjoyable which I assume happens often based on the busyness that day. A little bus was parked outside of it which I assume is another space to enjoy your ice cream. There’s also other outdoor seating aside from the bus. All in all: 3.5/5.

Ana Chavarria: Good vibe. It is my first time getting Matcha Latte and I couldn't taste anything... I had to put stevia to at least feel that I was drinking sweet cold milk. Salmon toast was ok but nothing impressive. Chocolate cookie had a good texture. I had a good time while having breakfast and reading. They have a good seating area. So overall it is ok, I was not impressed with the food. Maybe I'll come back to try something else.
Audrey Kuhn: Usually love this place but as someone with food allergies, I wish they would change ingredients on menu when they update items. I can’t eat onions and usually their chicken salad doesn’t have onions but I just ordered it (I’ve had in hundreds of times before ) and it has onions all over it. That ingredient isn’t on their ingredient list for it.

CDub 1962: We love McClains. Been going there for over 30 years! All of their danishes are the same formula and as delicious as they were back when the McClains owned it. One thing that bothers me though is they always run out of sticky buns before 930 am and that's the way it's been ever since the new owners took over. That shouldn't happen. Simply make more of them so they last till 11 please. We will always keep buying their danishes because there is nothing like them anywhere.

Robin Jones: This review is not about the cupcakes themselves. I don't know how they taste. They may be delicious. However, my family and I didn't get a chance to try them. We took a trip to the plaza to see the lights and get dessert from Cupcake A La Mode, checking to see what time they closed first. When we arrived at 8:30 we were surprised to find the door locked and the woman inside not reacting to our efforts to come in since they weren't supposed to close for another 1/2 hour. Very poor business practices which means they lost this customer.Edit: You might want to reflect the winter hours on your website then.

Arianna Middlebrook: Worst sense of customer service at this location. You’re much better off taking your money to their Lees Summit location. I ordered half a dozen cupcakes 5 days before the pick up date. They called me 30 mins before the pickup time to tell me they were “sold out” of the cupcake flavor I had put an order in for. They said they “sold out 3 days ago” but if that was the case then why not relay that info to your customer when it occurred? Knowing that there was already an order in place. When I asked why it was not communicated to me earlier, the employee said she had no idea about the order and that the manager, Jennifer oversees all of it. (Terrible communication all around I guess). When I asked for some form of compensation for the inconvenience the employee said “I don’t know why it’s a big deal when we have other flavors”.... not taking into consideration the food allergens that prevent me from ordering others which I had already informed them about. 0/10 service and I would not recommend placing orders here at all.

They did give an option to call the Plaza store directly to pay. I called and was told the order hadn't come through and they were too busy to write it down and take it over the phone. I got a confirmation a few minutes later and called after half an hour. I was told they would call back in a way that did not make me feel like they valued me as a customer ..more like I was bothering them. It was a small order of only four cupcakes, but I don't think that should impact the quality of service. This woman was very unhelpful and bordering on rude She did call back and asked for my credit card number, expiration date, and security code. I was not comfortable giving my security code and asked why they didn't use a more secure form? She said, you are welcome to go somewhere else, because she hadno time for this.I am going somewhere else.I like their cupcakes but I will never order from them again because I don't like how I was treated...life is too short.
Alisha Stephan: I ordered three different kinds of these off Doordash and they were three of the best cupcakes that I have ever tried. The Golddigger was super moist and full of flavor, the wedding cake one of the most delicious cakes and frosting combo I have ever had together, and the other is Salty Carmella and OMG!!! I love to support local and this made it easy with how fresh and tastey these all were.

Puddlemom Pool: In search of a croissant locally that would compare with those in Paris. This is not it. 1st, what would cost between $1.20-$2.80 in Paris Bloom charged $4 and it was 2/3 of the size.It was a nice flaky layers, but it didn't taste buttery and certainly not worth the steep price. Also, had the $5 chocolate croissant and it also was smaller size and only had one bar of chocolate. The chocolate was tasty and good quality, but for $5 it should have been larger and had more chocolate.

A Hitchcock: I needed to take some treats to a very good customer of mine. The place I originally picked did not open until 11:00 am. I saw that Bloom Baking Co. opened up early, so I took a chance and drove across KC. to get there. It's a small place, but had what I wanted. The lady behind the counter was more than willing to put together a couple of boxes filled with Brownies, chocolate chunk, oatmeal-rasin, peanut-butter cookies, and peanut butter bars. Yes, it was on the expensive side, but my customer was very impressed. I can't tell you how they tasted, but they all looked amazing. I will buy from them again, but will call in advance to make it easier for them. They were very friendly.

Sarah & her team were incredibly thoughtful & considerate of both our desires & budget. Thank you Bloom Baking Company for creating such a delightful dessert experience for us & our guests. Not a bite went to waste! Our only regret is not ordering more! Looking forward to the next time I can taste Bloom!

Kim R: I’m so weary of poor customer service at places I love the food & coffee. What is the deal with the chip on your shoulder (to basically every counter person I’ve ever interacted with here)? Specifically, I ordered a drink one way and it came in another way, and they charged me to fix it 🙄 I’m sure a place that has such great food doesn’t have to worry about friendliness or fixing something like that - but making customers feel super welcome to be in your place is huge! It’s another layer of business value.
james schaefer: Excellent food, but decline in atmosphere and service. Went there on Father's day with the kids to encounter loud music that made it hard to have a conversation. I love 90's hip-hop, but blasting Baby Got Back in the morning isn't the atmosphere I personally enjoy in a bakery with the family. And no one likes a Cashier with a tude.

icecrystal97: Don't come here for anything wedding related. I came in just to explore my options (I'm just over a year and half away from my big day so plenty of time). She showed me a book of wedding cakes where half looked like a child made them and the other half looked photoshopped. Very pushy about me booking her because she was already booked up heavy for the winter months. Um, I don't think you're that busy for a small wedding cake for late 2024 while we're in 2023. I had a few ideas about what I'd like my cake to look like (I'm non-traditional) and it's nothing complex. But her response to the images I showed her was "I can't do that", "I won't do that", "I've never done that before". While I admire you saying so, the pictures you showed me had a lot of the things my images had, which makes me doubt your integrity. The other thing that bugged me is she talked about using a pink frosting to seperate the two tiers of cake which were to be blue. Pink and blue don't exactly work and will look weird when you cut into the cake. I just felt ignored and what I had compiled together was garbage because she supposedly knew what was "best".

He offered to buy additional cookies (1 cookie per box) even though he didn't need more, but was still refused boxes. Totally ridiculous!!!2) there have been numerous times that we've come here to purchase something from them and they've been closed long before their closing hours.Again, I really like their products, but this was the last straw for me and I will no longer be frequenting their establishment!

Kayla Russell: Everyone raved about the wedding cake! It was carrot on one level and lemon on the other… the best! I also ordered cookies with our initial, “Mr. & Mrs.”, and “love”. They were done so well and really added to our table. We had a small, intimate, family wedding and Dolce treated us like royalty. I recommend them to everyone!
Ashton Ettleman: This was the easiest part of wedding planning. My husband and I ordered the wedding cake tasting box and were able to sample all their flavors at home. We then scheduled an appointment to go in and iron out all the details. We chose a variety of flavors in both regular and mini cupcakes and a two tier cake for cutting and serving. My favorite was almond and my husband liked the lemon so we were able to do both flavors in our cake, one for each tier. I loved that they sent an online portal that had everything we needed and allowed us to make payments online. They were a huge hit at the wedding and I definitely recommend getting some of the mini cupcakes and wished we would have gotten more. People liked being able to try all the flavors and they were great for the kids!
Jordan Chapman: Came from Florida for my niece and nephews high school graduation and was given the last minute task of graduation cupcakes. Drove around the city all day trying samples from some of the best bakeries in town. Knew I had found the one when I tried a sample of their icing.Dolce's cream cheese buttercream icing was hands down the best in town. They were also able to fulfill all my graduation cupcake needs at last minute, as well as setting me up with a box of assorted baked goods to keep the kids out of the cupcakes before the party (my favorite was the peanut butter brownie).Will definitely be visiting again next time we're in Kansas City!

Crumbly, dense and a bit tough. The raspberry cream cake has zero raspberry flavor besides the fresh raspberries on top. Needs some lemon or jam to punch up the fruit flavor. Overall extremely unimpressed.
