McLain's Bakery: what do users think?
Kelsey Oviedo: I’ve never had anything I didn’t like from McLains. The Market Wrap is 10/10 and my absolute favorite. Super friendly and efficient staff.
Ana Chavarria: Good vibe. It is my first time getting Matcha Latte and I couldn't taste anything... I had to put stevia to at least feel that I was drinking sweet cold milk. Salmon toast was ok but nothing impressive. Chocolate cookie had a good texture. I had a good time while having breakfast and reading. They have a good seating area. So overall it is ok, I was not impressed with the food. Maybe I'll come back to try something else.
Audrey Kuhn: Usually love this place but as someone with food allergies, I wish they would change ingredients on menu when they update items. I can’t eat onions and usually their chicken salad doesn’t have onions but I just ordered it (I’ve had in hundreds of times before ) and it has onions all over it. That ingredient isn’t on their ingredient list for it.
Emily Frank: In town for a week for business. Literally went every morning for breakfast and every afternoon for lunch! Absolutely delicious!! Friendly people, cute atmosphere, and great selection of awesome food!! Wish I lived in Kamsas City just for this place ❤️
Manny Cáceres: Great experience. The food and coffee were very good and the variety of pastry is awesome, the staff extremely nice and helpful, and the place is very nice as well, specially the outdoors sitting area. We will definitely be coming back.
Rhonda Dolan: Excellent food, baked goods, cakes and coffee. Always a good experience.
John LaRoe: For breakfast: the Pepper Jack burrito (which is spicy) or the Plain & Simple (bacon & eggs on toast & not spicy).Top it off with a chocolate croissant or fruit Danish. Also highly recommended: the coffee cakes, great pick for quick to-go desserts.(update, 24 May 2023:)Every bit as good as ever in their reconfigured, more comfortable space. The coffee may even be better (and it's always been good).Had the Plain & Simple & a Blueberry Danish this morning. Great stuff!
trini nl: Cutest little spot! Matcha latte could have been warmer. Service was great.
John Guzmán: Excellent food and service, the salad was generous and delicious, you can't beat fresh bread.
Karen Gleason: Ordered 5 different combinations of cupcakes and frosting for our wedding. All were delicious and the staff was great to work with! Highly recommend them!
Ping Robert (黃苹): Good food and ambience. I wanna come here during non peak hours.
CDub 1962: We love McClains. Been going there for over 30 years! All of their danishes are the same formula and as delicious as they were back when the McClains owned it. One thing that bothers me though is they always run out of sticky buns before 930 am and that's the way it's been ever since the new owners took over. That shouldn't happen. Simply make more of them so they last till 11 please. We will always keep buying their danishes because there is nothing like them anywhere.
Norris Laffitte: Delicious fresh food. Good service.
Andrew Jones: Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere.
kurt anderson: Excellent selection. Don't come if you're on a diet, you never make it out
Jennifer Kallias: DELECTABLE pastries!!! Go early to get the best selection.
Gerry Lynn: We ordered a chocolate croissant, a lemon blueberry scone and a raspberry danish. They were all good, especially my personal favorite chocolate croissant. Would definitely go again the next time we're in town!
Zoë: The food, atmosphere, and sweets are one of the bests in all of KC!!! This Mocha Cupcake was literally the best cupcake I have ever had!
Brenda Bigbee: So much in pastries and cakes.😁
Paige Rausch: Best breakfast burritos, amazing quiches, and the brown sugar pop tart is to die for. Staff is friendly and welcoming, they even know my name because I go so frequently!
Rino Sbriglia: One of the best birthday‘s cake we have had for our son! Impressive. Whomever worked on the cake did an awesome job. So happy, we’ll definitely repeat next year (hopefully with another theme)… thank you

Opera House Bakery: what do users think?
Ashley Hughes: Ignore all the bad reviews below, this local bakery is badass! First of all everything is made in house from scratch. There is only 1 baker, her name is Annie and she is INCREDIBLE!Her macaroons are to die for! 6 different flavors & THEY ARE HUGE!! They have seasonal flavors of cheesecake which is hard to find locally. I recently fell in love with the granola bars, Annie also makes from scratch, Tropical Fruit & Trail Mix have been my go-to flavors when the restaurant is super busy on the weekends during the Farmers Market.
Lori Ventura: Such a cool vibe here!
Sean Tokic: Worst service ever experienced. Never wrote a review in my life until now. Waited in line while the barista spoke with her friend for 10 minutes and was told they couldn’t serve what was on menu. I asked when they stopped serving and she said when they get less busy. I asked when that generally is, she said 7pm. It was 6:30. She basically told me to kick rocks, and I guess I’ll kick rocks everywhere except Opera house from here on out.
Allison Dauzat: Bigger inside than expected, not much signage on where to go to order but went there strictly for the bakery. It in the very back left corner(if anyone wanted to know). Cute and small and a decent variety of sweets!
Vivian C: I ordered one Opera cake for special occasion and turned out that the sponge cake was dry and the buttercream was way too sweet. My boy friend tried it and also agreed with me that it contains way too much sugar and we ate not more than 2 slices. It was quite a disappointment.
Dave Cooney: Nice atmosphere but I do not recommend eating here unless you have a small stomach and big pocket book. Very small portions. A bit pricey.
Justin Marks: Walked in at 7:57pm (close at 8pm) and was told they were closed. That’s terrible service.
Peggy Beck: They didn't make opera house cake.
super fluffers: I went there for a birthday and just got a variety of treats to fit everyone's taste and it worked out really well! It's an awesome atmosphere and the treats were delicious, in fact I'm coming back next year!
Karen Bernard: Best coffee house in the city. Location couldn't be smarter. In good weather, you can't be the outside cafe. I go there on as many weekends as possible.
Amy Young: Delightful concept. Very friendly staff with great suggestions. Suitable for families, couples, job interviews and chilling out.

Raymond Royster: Have enjoyed pastey from the there for years. Sorry to see them go

CarModities PAL: I don't know what someone was smoking when they gave this place 1 star, this place, and the people are great. They have ONE problem, and it's that they are too far from me. But I will drive from Belton when I'm jonesing for one of their chocolate eclairs!
Simon Baker: To much frosting on the fig cookies. It didn't taste like they used butter in anything, including the butter cookies.
Dan Kenyon: Good
Mark Waite: The best everything at this place
Amanda Pike: EVERYTHING is amazing! One of our favorite clients always spoils everyonein our office, bringing treats from our favorite bakery!
jeanine jones: I used to live in the area some 30 years ago...I would take my daughter up there...now when ever I’m in the area I always have to stop in for the butter cookies...today was the first time I went to use my bank card and was told it was cash only...I never knew that because I always used cash in the past...the gentleman that served me gave me my purchase and said just pay for it next time you come back...with all the things going on in the world today that really touched my heart...ok course I went and got the cash and came back and paid...these people are always so nice...I love the energy in the store...keep up the great service...see ya soon!

Cupcakes Unlimited: what do users think?
Matthew Andrews: Cupcakes unlimited is an amazing place, it's prices aren't bad at all, has good deals and it's employees are really nice, Sophie is a very nice girl and seriously deserves the largest tips for all the help she provides and how well she does it all.
Oscar Vallecillos: We have been here a few times. The cupcakes and ice cream are good. Decently priced items as well.
Jeff Berry: Didn’t have any spoons so I could eat my banana split. Girl told me I could run next door to get. Which was family dollar. Do 6 dollars turned to 8 dollars
Barbara Cowden: First time going into store. Appreciated they wore masks. Had excellent help and will definately be coming back. Happy customer!!
Keeva Hartzell: Remember to take your “open” sign down when you are closed. Thanks!
Dallas Anderson: Cupcakes were good. Got 4 of them for $10 which seems pretty fair. They also offer day old cupcakes at a discount which is thought was a smart idea. They had ice cream and toppings and some jarred jelly/jam/spreads too.
Gwendolyn Miller: Great service and yummy cupcakes! The lemon and strawberry are our regular favorites and my seasonal favorite is champagne!
Sharon Hermann: Love, Love, Love
Wendy Farmer: This place provides consistently good service and delicious treats!
Ahsoka Bauer: Love this place. Every cupcake I've tried is unique and so delicious. Staff is always extremely friendly and wonderful.
kayla guettermann: Very welcoming and clean space. Had so many different cupcakes! I also love that they have ice cream, jams, and honeysticks. We will be back!
Sarah Kohllman: I ordered several dozen cupcakes for a baby shower I was hosting, and they were delicious! Moist cake, delicious icing, and decorated exactly as I asked. They even had gluten free cupcakes, and the owner was very communicative when I was ordering. 10/10 do recommend, and will be visiting for treats again!
Smokey Blue: Overpriced, mediocre, and incredibly rude staff. Never going back
natalie short: I ordered 350 cake pops for 2 graduation ceremonies. About 80% of them were cracked right down the middle when I picked them up. I asked and the owner said sometimes the chocolate reacts to being dipped when frozen. I was offered no apology, no remedy or even sympathy. I picked them up an hour before the event and would not have paid for them if I had any other option. They were poorly dipped, tied with a bread tie, not even a bit of ribbon. Several were wrapped with a red gel on them and it smashed into the wrapper and looked like blood. To top it off, they were not very good. The outside chocolate had a very waxy texture and most of the cakes were hard to even tell what the flavor was. This was not a very professional way of handling this situation. Will never shop here or recommend.
Stephanie Braun: Great cupcakes. Excellent cinnamon rolls!Love the rewards program. We get these as a special treat.
Jerry Cain: Great cupcakes! Great service!
Emily Knox: IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE! I just had a lemon cream cheese one that was delicious. I typically swing by when I'm showing houses in the area and it makes my entire day! Staff members are sweet, I never really have a wait time (I usually go around 7PM) and cupcakes are sooooo good!
Agape Crain: Unfortunately, we were not impressed with Cupcakes Unlimited. The service was off, the place seemed dirty and unkempt, we were given the wrong cupcake flavor even after clarifying a second time, and the flavors we did get were absolute sugar bombs that lacked depth. The carrot cake was so spicy we couldn’t eat it. The cream cheese frosting lacked cream cheese flavor. The three stars are for the chocolate milkshake that turned out well. Unfortunately, we won’t return and can’t recommend this place as it relates to cupcakes.
Erica Standley: Always wonderful baked goods. I've introduced so many friends and family members to this place. I will keep telling peopleb about them as long as they're in business. Love the hometown feel and the personal customer service.
Amber Gibson: Always clean, friendly, well stocked with a great selection!
fetter56: Perfectly balanced sweetness in the icing. Fantastic flavors. Will be back often.

Taste Buds Kitchen: what do users think?
C Bear: We had a great experience and are going back for another class!
Rebecca Mae: Fantastic meal! BETTER than most restaurants! Chef Amy is a wonderful instructor! Taste Buds is your best bet if you're looking to combine fun, friends, and food!
Amanda Tuck: Loved our mommy and me Tea Party Event for mother's day. Very well organized the staff was warm and inviting. Great interaction with the kids. The recipe we followed was very tasty and provided a great deal of interaction over the course of the hour long event. Highly recommend Taste Buds Kitchen family events.
Andi Miller: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Melisa Loes: My 9 year old son absolutely loved the 5 day camp!!
Brian and Kristen Bosiljevac: Our daughter’s party was a huge success! Everything was very organized, well ran and fun! The staff was extremely friendly and kind. The kids were entertained the entire 2 hours and left the party happy and full! It was the easiest party to throw from a parent standpoint, because everything was taken care of!
Megan Schonert: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy 8 year old daughter and I absolutely loved the class. We have been attending these classes at Tastebuds for 4 years now… and we love every single one! We always have fun!
Hayley Wisnieski: We signed our 4 year old daughter up for her first camp last week and she LOVED it! We signed her up for 3 more the next week and plan to do more throughout the summer and school breaks! She loved being able to actually cook the desserts and use her creativity to decorate her final products. She was so proud of everything she brought home and even made friends at her table. Great experience!
Roxanne Sabatino: This was my 3rd time there. Took my 8 year old niece who thoroughly enjoyed it!
Bailey Kilty: Baylie and team were fantastic! We had a great time and the food was delicious!
Gary Reeder: First time attending an event like this. Taste Buds Kitchen is awesome. They communicated in advance what they do and don't do. What they provide (everything except drinks) What you are expected to bring (drinks and a willing to participate attitude.)The TBK lead for the night was Amy and she was cheerful, energetic, and spoke clearly with concise instructions. While being entertaining and engaging. We learned some new tricks to use in the kitchen and to cook a great meal. We will be doing this again and dragging (inviting) friends or family along next time.
Maria Bach: Great instruction! Fun and easy atmosphere! Amazing and energetic vibes!! Will do it again 😍
Katie Lord: One of our favorite places we do it multiple times a year as a mommy daughter outing. Keep up the good work.
Matt Mackin: It was an overall great experience. All the steps were explained thoroughly and the staff was always willing to help.
matt scarborough: What a fun evening with my sister! We had a blast making the Tapas and met some fun folks at our table. We'll be back for sure! Thanks for a fun night!
Loren Risch: Great fun, staff was friendly, funny and knowledgable. Food was fantastic.
Ann Marie Dunlap: Fun evening with friends and a good teacher with helpers. The recipes were easily followed and tasty. Always a good time at Taste Buds.
Laura Layton: Great experience!
Christy McCallister: Good engagement with the kids. Short, clear and concise instructions. My 6 & 7 yr olds asked for more classes.
Bailey Nakelsky: We had such a great time today at the mommy and me donut class! Matt was so patient and just at the right level to keep my almost 3 year old entertained and engaged the entire time (this can be said about few people in our phase of life!). We will definitely be back!
Angela Pugh: This was a great experience and our teacher was wonderful! The facility is so nice and clean, the process was easy and streamlined, and all the kids were smiling the whole time!

Cold Stone Creamery: what do users think?
Haven Doll: Exceptional service and very friendly staff.
Derek Carter: A little on the pricey side but they do have great ice cream and a ton of options!
tonya stanley: The best ice cream in a cone or cone bowl, in 51 yrs this is by far the best ice cream I've had.
Issa Issa: The best
anniee Elizabethh: 1 of the top ice cream spots . For the lovve of cold stone
Aaron Appling: $18 + tip for 2 ice cream cones. Seriously thought it was a joke.
Ms Carey: Very nice ice cream shop. The shop was kind and the ice cream was delicious. Got the cheesecake special in waffle cone, it was a really good dessert on a hot day! My favorite were the little chunks of cheesecake bread/crumb !
Kendo Sans: I have found my go to spot, when it comes to ice cream.
Michael Jenkins: I always been a fan of cold stone but haven’t had it in years. The ice cream was delicious as usual, that cookie dough ice cream was hitting on everything! Their prices are pretty expensive but the quality of the ice cream is amazing!
Cody Ruskanen: Easy to order and great staff. Made me feel welcomed and very nice overall. Also very clean both inside and outside. Ice cream is very recommended.
Denise Taylor: The best ice cream.
Hope Hart: How was it so good??
Jazz Cat: My brother took me here for ice cream once, and it was kind of funny because the lights were flickering and one was completely burnt out these two guys were talking like a shady deal was going down, one said "it's in the back by the waffle cones" before they both turned around to look at me and my brother in an awkward manner before the one who spoke left and the guy behind the counter took our orders. It was a very awkward couple of minutes before me and my brother left laughing at whatever we just saw.All I gotta say is ice cream is good, but atmosphere bad if you want to sit inside.
Emster The one and only: the service was sooo fast, and the workers were so kind!! plus the ice cream was phenomenal!!
Mohammed: I used to like this place and eat there every time I come to plazaToday some guy took my order, very rude, it wasn’t even busy, barely put ice cream in my cup. When I told him there is not enough Ice cream in the cup he gave it to me and said this the last time I put you extra. This does not deserve one star
Travelar Mazen: Slow dirty place an organized stuff. Last time ordering from here
Moshe Messer: Service is great and the ice-cream is awesome!!!
Priyanka Kumar: NEVER ORDER FROM HERE!!! My friend's mom ordered her a birthday cake to be delivered to her with her name on it and the wrong cake was delivered. She called them and they said that they gave the delivery guy the wrong cake. At first they said they would deliver the correct cake but it never came. Later they tried to claim that it was door dash's fault and that we would have to not only order but PAY for a new cake. Now they are refusing to bring the correct cake or even give a refund. The manager claims that he does not know what to do and that he is new on the job. One time on the phone he even had the gall to say I'm sorry this happened but I am busy and have to go. Never even called back! He failed to make any kind of effort to rectify the situation. He also says his boss may call but says that could be whenever. Usually we love cold stone and this branch. Massive failure!!!!
Casey Gregg: Don't order delivery. I ordered through their website, used a Coldstone giftcard. You know what I got? Go Chicken Go. Can't talk to the local Coldstone, they say "Talk to Doordash". Well, your link is broken, the driver won't pick up and I ordered through you! This is the problem with routing through Doordash. Even the link from Coldstone to rate the Doordash driver was broken.
Emily (Selkie): I came here the morning of February 12th to celebrate Valentine's Day early with my boyfriend. It was still cold out so there was no wait. I ordered the Oreo cookie dough ice cream (The Way the Cookie Crumbles) in the Gotta Have It (Large) size.It was pretty good, though honestly at the moment I should've ordered the medium size instead. It was filling to the point of nearly making me sweet-sick.The price was a little on the expensive side, but is to be expected for this ice cream shop chain. Service was alright, nothing to write home about. I do imagine the store gets very busy once the weather warms up though.
Karla Sifuentes: Very bad service! When we got to the counter the guy behind the counter was mad, was throwing everything around..

Carole O: Love this place -I've been coming here for years! It's definitely a Kansas City classic with outstanding craftsmanship and lovely seasonal flavor combinations. The plants and sunlight are also a vibe 👌
R Cusick: Really neat little place! It was quite busy and I struggled to hear my dining companions, but I think that's just the case with me in crowded restaurants. Had a delicious iced green tea and a bowl with yogurt, granola, blackberries, and lime. So tasty! I had grazed at breakfast despite knowing better and wasn't hungry enough to finish my brunch, which made me so sad! Hope I can come back and order one another time.Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options!
Antonio Rodriguez: The only negative thing I’d say is that they advertise “$3.00 8oz Drip Coffee” on their menu, but sometimes they ONLY have “Premium Blends” so it ends up being $4.50 for an 8oz Drip Coffee. Please offer both options… a $3.00 8oz as advertised on the menu and a $4.50 premium blend as an option. It’s not a deal-breaker, it’s just confusing how you advertise one thing but charge for something else w/o an option to opt-out.

Kim: Great coffee, also really like the matcha lattes here. It’s mixed/blended well with no chunks. Just smooth! If you dine in, they give you a number to bring you your food. The drinks are picked up at the counter though so don’t leave without them!Cute interior with a lot of open space and huge windows to bring in natural light. Can get a little noisy since it is a social setting with music playing in the background but I’ve brought my laptop here to work a handful of times and never had an issue.

Creative Culture: what do users think?
Chad McCan: Even though their hours are posted, they randomly decide when they want to stop taking shake orders. At $14 each, they should be making these things 24 hours a day.
Lyndsey Leigh: I wish I could have stayed and done a craft! The staff was absolutely amazing and answered all my questions even after I told them I wouldn’t be crafting. Scobie could name every topping on every milkshake and made sure we got the perfect ones for each of us.we decided on the S’mores and the Strawberries Cheesecake, overall can’t pick my favorite we will definitely be back.
Harley Lynn: We only ate the ice cream here and didn't do any of the activities (YET!!) It seems a little pricey, BUT SO WORTH IT!! We'll be coming back for the fun stuff.
Felisha McDougald CIC CPRM: We celebrated my daughters 12th birthday here, and it was amazing! The girls working were so attentive, and the shakes tasted wonderful (why did I do cake too? lol) Plenty of space to have fun, and I picked up pottery a few days later and gave to the girls with thank you's- PERFECT
Makayla Shannon: Such a fun place! There’s several different crafting options and all of the tools you need. The owner was very nice & helpful during our time there. And of course the milkshakes were great!
Ali Khreis: Went in here for a fun time with my wife, and it was a relaxing and simple experience. The owner Dell Anne (hope I spelled it right) was a delight. Definitely plan on coming back here and would recommend it!
Kathy Stitt: Had a great time with my daughter
Jason Mendell: Love this place. We had so much fun.
Jonathan Allen: Great place for adults and kids
Laina Suesue: This place was permanently closed when I went there yesterday.
Jasmine Summers: Went in a hr ago and everything was amazing. Service was friendly and quick and the milkshakes were amazing 😻 They not only looked good but tasted great too..Ill definitely be back
Anthony Madison: Crafts while you enjoy the awesome staff, atmosphere, and the amazing Milkshakes!!
KACG Designs: I was looking for something different, yet creative to do this weekend with my daughter. The Splatter Studio was absolutely perfect. We had a blast!!
Kelsey Neth: This was a pretty fun place. The milkshakes are good but I would definitely recommend sharing with 1-2 other people because they're just so rich and hard to finish. The craft we did was fun and turned out really cute but I wasn't really happy with the staff. They kept giving us the wrong instructions and we kind of had to push back and show them what the instruction sheet they gave us said. Because of all the confusion and misdirection, it can take a long time to finish your craft. Don't make plans for at least 2 hours after your start time, otherwise you might have to leave mid-craft like another group that was there had to do.
Taylor Zitnik: We had our 9 year old daughter’s birthday party in the splatter room at it was PERFECT! Both the staff and the owner were amazing hosts. The girls had a blast getting MESSY and each took home a canvas and t-shirt they painted. There is an adorable clean space to have cake and presents after being creative in the splatter room. SUPER FUN! The girls talked about it the entire ride home. 💕🎨🖌🎉
Briana Dear: I dont know what I was expecting when my daughter suggested we come here for my mom's birthday. It was definitely not this amazing creation. I am forever hooked. I didn't even get to try the one I actually wanted, but there is always next time and ice cream is always in season.
Tana Drake: Really cool little place for some creative fun and delicious ice cream. Several different crafts to choose from and the sweet treats are devine! Will definitely be going back again.
Chris Mathis: The shakes are as good as they look! My wife and I split a Local Love (cookie dough) milkshake after dinner and it was delicious! It also looked great before we devoured it…
Minnette Santos: Creative culture. Such a unique and cute idea. I gave the business a 3 star due to the lack of customer service. I could hardly tell who worked there. We were given zero direction and when I went to ask questions about potting my plant I was greeted with a blank stare. It’s quite pricey BUT it would be worth it, if the atmosphere was … what it could be. If I owned this business, I would invest in a nice training course. Perhaps the owner should “shop” their establishment. Unless, of course, this is meant to be how the shop is ran. If it is, lower the price and don’t ask for a tip. Also, you could save on employee salary. There didnt need to be three girls working, since they weren’t assisting. They were just cash register attendees. This was a beautiful idea though and I created a wonderful pot. I just could have done it at home. The vibe was off here
Tyler Ray: Really good milkshakes and you can even get them to go!
Kortney Mettle: If you are looking for a milkshake, I’d recommend going elsewhere - there aren’t prices clearly displayed, they’re $15 each. They are not adequately staffed, I felt terrible for the person working, they were obviously responding to all the previous poor reviews and ensuring to stop what they were doing anytime someone new walked in the door.We waited 20 minutes for a glass of warm milk with tons of stuff on it. The person making our warm milk started making them when we ordered and stopped five times to give every new customer an overview of what the space is.The customer service was great, milk shake was a joke - gas station snacks piled on top of warm milk.My advice - look out for your staff and set them up for success by adequately staffing.
