H O: I had been coming to the Dentists of Independence for a few years and things were fine. Yesterday, after my x-ray, the assistant and dentist picked at my teeth and kept talking about how I need to floss my teeth more often (I agree). Then, they suggested I have a deep cleaning at another time. They brought in a young man to explain the prices, kind of like a closer at a car dealership. He informed me it would cost about $1,400. I replied this was a rip-off and was not going to do this. Of course he took umbrage and that ended things. They refunded $30 of my $107. So I wasted a few hours or my time and $77 for nothing (other than an x-ray).

Norma Melendez: Dr. Mohammed Nuru, DDS., and ALL staff at Dentists of Independence Thank You. He has a great team of family and staff. They are all top of the line professionals, with superb workmanship, artistry and state of the art equipment! A CEREC Milling Unit (for same day crowns & implants). A lab on site, 3D Imaging, and TV for his patients to watch while waiting, or just to relax if they wish. Kid friendly environment very welcoming. I thought there was no hope, unless I spent a fortune. His fees are very reasonable, accepting all insurances or out of pocket patients and still affordable for all incomes, they will work with you. The whole staff is very caring, compassionate, and patient with a desire to make each patients happy with their results. This will always be my dentist, and even if I live hundreds of miles away, I will fly or drive to Dentists of Independence, for all of my dental needs. If you need quality work, at an affordable price, then you need to call Dentists of Independence to set up an appointment. You will thank God you did. devcleve: I’ve been here twice for dental repair. Once to fix a cavity in a front tooth and once to repair a tooth that had broken. Both times, I was able to set an appointment within a week of calling and upon arriving, they were comfortably busy with only a client or two present other than me.I was taken back immediately following check in and seen by the assistant immediately after that and the dr immediately after that and so on.I felt important and attended to. The assistants and dr were both very nice and professional. The office is clean and the equipment is modern.I was satisfied with the quality of the repair and received exactly what I’d asked for.I have no insurance, repairing the broken tooth was $280.All things considered, I will be coming back to this office for all future dental work.Thank you.
Bailey Johnson: The staff was all very kind and friendly but they quoted me over $600 for a deep cleaning for Periodontitis and to fix a filling and that was after insurance... I went to another dentist and they did the same procedures and said yes I need to floss more in the back of my teeth but found no signs of Periodontitis, not even Gingivitis, which occurs before Periodontitis... The other dentist was also able to fix my filling within one hour and covered completely by insurance. While the staff was friendly, I do not appreciate dentist's who over quote and charge for unnecessary procedures and want people to be aware of these types of scams.
Meena H: Pros: Clean, friendly, thorough. They don't mind outlining my options, answering questions, and are always polite. Reasonably priced and willing to work to correct mistakes. They worked with me as a new patient when another office used my benefits improperly. Now for theCons: operated by one dentist, Dr. Nuru who I'm coming to think is inexperienced.He's very personable, but takes longer than usual for simple things like fillings. He also did a same day crown for me that even a year later has resulted in more sensitivity than I had before the crown. The lower tooth that meets that crown has now cracked and also needs a crown. That's even after going back for a bite adjustment.Then on the other side he put a filling on a tooth that needs a crown which resulted in the filling breaking, and hours in the chair redoing it. Then it broke AGAIN!I'm quite annoyed that I spent so much time and money there when the filling (that should have been a crown) and the cracked tooth banging again the crown they did, might have been avoided by going to a more experienced dentist.
Taiton Wurtz: I haven't been to the dentist in 6+ years due to poor dental treatment and lack of compassion. BUT YALL... I have nothing, but great things to say about this group and facility. Their call center who scheduled my original appointment was even great! Front desk staff very friendly. Drs and tech were so nice and patient. They took time to talk to me in detail about my concerns/fears. I also appreciated that they talked through their procedures step by step. Will refer them to anyone in a heartbeat. I am hopeful after a few more visits like these, my fear of the dentist will be gone!

Debbie Epperson: This place is a joke. Beware of all the "work" you need to have done. My husband and I stopped going here and found a dentist that is a sole practitioner. In other words, not part of a quota pushing corporation. All the thousands of dollars worth of work they claimed my husband needed was a lie. Period. They were cleaning my teeth every 3 months instead of 6, sucking all of the insurance dollars and also charging me $135 on top of it. Doing the SAME EXACT cleaning job on my teeth as they were doing on my husband. Good riddance. Beware to all.

Joyce Newhouse: I do not recommend Medley Smiles. My elderly mother was charged several thousands of dollars and never did receive an upper plate that fit properly or that allowed her to chew. She had to make many, many trips over there to try to get it to fit so she could eat, and she finally gave up after a year of trying. Then they wanted to charge her more money to try again when they never could help her. She is now going to a different dental practice to get an upper plate!! So disappointed in Medley Smiles!

Kevin Thiemer: Pros: office staff is friendly for the most part.Cons: I had a tooth that was cracked, they said it needed a root canal, and a crown. ok do it. root canal done, crown installed, 6 months after crown comes off and it has a hole in it. its Friday their day off, I call the emergency line to see if it cant be fixed then can I at least talk to someone to ask if this will be a problem, since I'm going on a ten day trip, no call back. when I get back, they make a crown in the office install it, 1 month it pops off, I go back. they have another crown made, installed it, she says third times a charm, 2 weeks later it comes off. so I go to another dentist to see if they can fix my tooth, he says the tooth was ground off to far, no crown will hold on it. he tells me they will have to build the tooth back up just to get enough for retention of a new crown. So now I have to pay another dentist to fix the shoddy work done here.

I have been going to Dr. Medley for a few months, and no dentist has cared more about my comfort and anxiety than Dr. Medley! Her staff is amazing, especially Kinsey! Dr. Medley has had nothing but compassion towards me. Not once have I felt uncomfortable or pain. Her "bedside manner" is incredible. I am going through few pretty major health issues, and she keeps up-to-date on my health. She even goes one step further and researches some aspects of my health to better educate me. Suzanna Riling: I wouldn't recommend them now. When my husband first started going to them 3 or 4 years ago, they were great. He never had any issues with the dental work. I was impressed so I started going to them about a year or so ago. My first visit I sat in a chair for over an hour and all they did was do 15 minutes of x-rays. Not a problem just thought it was odd. Than their financial lady signed me up for care credit BEFORE EVEN ASKING IF I WANTED IT. Which is really weird considering I had dental insurance for both me and my husband which they had no problem charging our insurance until I started going and than all of a sudden they were all about charging the care credit card for the same dental work they were submitting to our insurance. When I started asking questions they got shady. I reported the fraud charges and all the dental work they did on both my husband and I we are now having to pay out of pocket for because Medley Smiles submitted"dental work" to our insurance, maxed out our insurance, and all of that "work" they said they did wasn't even done. Now both my husband and I have to pay for more work to be done on work Medley Smiles said they did. Here's the icing on the cake. Both my husband and I ended up with infected teeth AFTER we started getting work done by Medley Smiles. Isn't the point of going to a dentist is to PREVENT infection not GET an infection in your mouth? When I started asking questions about their billing instead of answering the questions they waited until my husband went in and told him that we aren't welcome there anymore. Are we not welcome because I asked questions about your billing or are we not welcome because you got caught doing fraudulent billing?
Chad Herfel: Not recommended. They put themselves first, not the patient. I prepaid for a huge amount of work just before covid only to have to wait until after they reopened. No complaint there but when I needed to reschedule later due to medical issue they cancelled my appointments and left me in lurch to find new doctor. Not cool.
jessica jenkins: I've been to this dentist a few times. Wonderful staff. They make the payment plans simple. All the women here do a great job at keeping you comfortable. I'm truly thankful that I chose this dentist. It had been 15 years since I had been to the dentist. I had some issues not to mention nobody likes going to the dentist. Well that all changed after my first appointment. They explained everything they gave me options. It feels like family when you come here. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They fulfilled my request for a different provider when I requested a second opinion and this appointment was positive, informative, and based on my current experience has resolved the problem I was experiencing.They only downside has been how long the appointments have taken- every appointment took 1.5-2 hours.

They greet you at the door,and they make you feel comfortable and make sure that when they are working on your teeth or mouth that you are ok the whole time. And I love that. And if you don't understand something they take the time to explain it. Also they will work with you if you don't have all the money to pay up front..so in conclusion I think Celebrate Dental & Braces is one of the best dental places I have been to in years. And that's saying a lot coming from a veteran. Because I have not been to a dentist in 7 or 8 years and the last time I was I had to get all my teeth pulled. At least what was left of them..

Kim Ivany: Had tooth extracted here and was in extreme pain a couple days later. Dr Turnbow accused me of seeking opioids when I asked for a prescribed pain medication. She was rude and unprofessional, even hung up the phone on me! Wow! The receptionist didn't want to listen and interrupted me while I was speaking. I was simply asking for help managing the pain. Was told to take tylenol and ibuprofen, which i did - approximately 16 per day. I returned to see Dr Stephen who told me I didnt have dry socket and was healing well but offered the dry socket packing treatment anyway. I declined that treatment because I didn't have dry socket, according to her own diagnosis, and my son had a bad experience with a similar treatment, so that was on my mind. I asked for alternative treatment and was told there was none. They don't seem to appreciate a patient advocating for their personal medical care, and speaking for myself was not welcomed here. I got the impression that I was expected to accept the care offered and they seemed surprised when I declined and asked for other options. I am very disappointed in the experience I had here as a new patient. It makes me wonder if Dr Vaughn knows how her practice is being managed while she is on leave. Guess our family of four will search for a new dentist. One who listens and cares for the whole patient and partners with the patient to manage their care.

I usually am pretty nervous about going to the dentist because I feel judged, shamed, or like I am being talked down to- not here! The receptionist- amazing! The hygienists- amazing! The doctors- you guessed it- absolutely amazing! I will NEVER go to another dentists office for as long as I can possibly help it. Andy Miriani: Had an 8am yearly check-up. Showed up at 8am, was in the chair by 8:05. Had a nice chat with Brittany as she painlessly cleaned my teach. Dentist came in and with a few reminders I was sent on my way by 8:40. Great people, great practice.

Lex Vanderpool: I was definitely nervous about going to the dentist as I hadn’t been in many years. I read the reviews for this office and was thoroughly impressed. I booked my appointment and I can say 5 stars just isn’t enough, if I could give more I would. The ladies at the front desk are the sweetest and very helpful while checking in/scheduling future visits. I absolutely love and adore Natalie and would recommend her to anyone. I felt extremely comfortable and at home during my entire visit with her. She eased my anxiety and talked me through everything she would be doing. She explained thoroughly what my teeth needed and set up a game plan for giving me a healthy smile I will love once again. She made the visit very personable. Dr. Vaughn was nice as well. She was very quick and to the point (as you’d expect the doctor to be) not as thorough at explaining as Natalie though unfortunately however still a good experience. Overall, if you’re looking for a judgement free, extremely friendly, caring, and professional dentist to go to, I will always strongly recommend this office and especially Natalie. I am proud to become a patient here and look forward to seeing these ladies again!!

Johnathan Allison Farris: Some people are afraid of snakes, spiders, heights etc. My fear is the dentist. I was forced to go after an accident this past October .Dr. Vaughn and her team have done everything they can to make sure that I am at my most comfortable state of mind when I am in her chair. My accident required several crowns, veneers and root canals. Dr. Vaughn not only repaired the terrible emergency dental work I had received from another dentist but was able to perfectly repair all the other damaged teeth from my accident. Dr. Vaughn's office is the most professional, caring group of people I have seen in a dentist office. I can't put into words how grateful I am to Dr. Vaughn and her staff from the front desk to the hygienists, every step of the way they have provided me with all of the extra assistance I needed working through several months of these repairs. I would only recommend Dr. Vaughn to my family and friends for dental work!

After they called the doctor back to evaluate my teeth she had me smile and simply said “no we can’t do this implant, go to where you normally go” because it was in the front of my smile. The nurse tried to explain to her that my Orthodontist referred me to get my implant at this location. And she was super hateful and rude to her own nurse and cut her off mid sentence saying “no. Listen to me. I said we can’t do this implant.” I thought it was very unprofessional how she was talking to her nurse in front of a CUSTOMER. Also they FAILED to tell me I had to check out at the desk after they refused my implant. The front desk woman never stopped me or mentioned checking out. I had to go to work that night so I wasn’t able to go back to pay the 20$ they charged me to SMILE. Litterly. So they need are charging me 100$ for refusing my services..I work customer service so I understand people can be very nit picky on their services. But the way the doctor treated her nurses in front of a CUSTOMER had me angry for the nice lady.
