H O: I had been coming to the Dentists of Independence for a few years and things were fine. Yesterday, after my x-ray, the assistant and dentist picked at my teeth and kept talking about how I need to floss my teeth more often (I agree). Then, they suggested I have a deep cleaning at another time. They brought in a young man to explain the prices, kind of like a closer at a car dealership. He informed me it would cost about $1,400. I replied this was a rip-off and was not going to do this. Of course he took umbrage and that ended things. They refunded $30 of my $107. So I wasted a few hours or my time and $77 for nothing (other than an x-ray).

Norma Melendez: Dr. Mohammed Nuru, DDS., and ALL staff at Dentists of Independence Thank You. He has a great team of family and staff. They are all top of the line professionals, with superb workmanship, artistry and state of the art equipment! A CEREC Milling Unit (for same day crowns & implants). A lab on site, 3D Imaging, and TV for his patients to watch while waiting, or just to relax if they wish. Kid friendly environment very welcoming. I thought there was no hope, unless I spent a fortune. His fees are very reasonable, accepting all insurances or out of pocket patients and still affordable for all incomes, they will work with you. The whole staff is very caring, compassionate, and patient with a desire to make each patients happy with their results. This will always be my dentist, and even if I live hundreds of miles away, I will fly or drive to Dentists of Independence, for all of my dental needs. If you need quality work, at an affordable price, then you need to call Dentists of Independence to set up an appointment. You will thank God you did. I do every day....Thank you so much!Always, your most grateful patient

devcleve: I’ve been here twice for dental repair. Once to fix a cavity in a front tooth and once to repair a tooth that had broken. Both times, I was able to set an appointment within a week of calling and upon arriving, they were comfortably busy with only a client or two present other than me.I was taken back immediately following check in and seen by the assistant immediately after that and the dr immediately after that and so on.I felt important and attended to. The assistants and dr were both very nice and professional. The office is clean and the equipment is modern.I was satisfied with the quality of the repair and received exactly what I’d asked for.I have no insurance, repairing the broken tooth was $280.All things considered, I will be coming back to this office for all future dental work.Thank you.
Bailey Johnson: The staff was all very kind and friendly but they quoted me over $600 for a deep cleaning for Periodontitis and to fix a filling and that was after insurance... I went to another dentist and they did the same procedures and said yes I need to floss more in the back of my teeth but found no signs of Periodontitis, not even Gingivitis, which occurs before Periodontitis... The other dentist was also able to fix my filling within one hour and covered completely by insurance. While the staff was friendly, I do not appreciate dentist's who over quote and charge for unnecessary procedures and want people to be aware of these types of scams.
Meena H: Pros: Clean, friendly, thorough. They don't mind outlining my options, answering questions, and are always polite. Reasonably priced and willing to work to correct mistakes. They worked with me as a new patient when another office used my benefits improperly. Now for theCons: operated by one dentist, Dr. Nuru who I'm coming to think is inexperienced.He's very personable, but takes longer than usual for simple things like fillings. He also did a same day crown for me that even a year later has resulted in more sensitivity than I had before the crown. The lower tooth that meets that crown has now cracked and also needs a crown. That's even after going back for a bite adjustment.Then on the other side he put a filling on a tooth that needs a crown which resulted in the filling breaking, and hours in the chair redoing it. Then it broke AGAIN!I'm quite annoyed that I spent so much time and money there when the filling (that should have been a crown) and the cracked tooth banging again the crown they did, might have been avoided by going to a more experienced dentist.
Taiton Wurtz: I haven't been to the dentist in 6+ years due to poor dental treatment and lack of compassion. BUT YALL... I have nothing, but great things to say about this group and facility. Their call center who scheduled my original appointment was even great! Front desk staff very friendly. Drs and tech were so nice and patient. They took time to talk to me in detail about my concerns/fears. I also appreciated that they talked through their procedures step by step. Will refer them to anyone in a heartbeat. I am hopeful after a few more visits like these, my fear of the dentist will be gone!

Moriah Ireland: As soon as I arrived it was a new girl working the front. She was super nice. When they called me back the nurse that helped me was also a very nice African American lady. After they called the doctor back to evaluate my teeth she had me smile and simply said “no we can’t do this implant, go to where you normally go” because it was in the front of my smile. The nurse tried to explain to her that my Orthodontist referred me to get my implant at this location. And she was super hateful and rude to her own nurse and cut her off mid sentence saying “no. Listen to me. I said we can’t do this implant.” I thought it was very unprofessional how she was talking to her nurse in front of a CUSTOMER. Also they FAILED to tell me I had to check out at the desk after they refused my implant. The front desk woman never stopped me or mentioned checking out. I had to go to work that night so I wasn’t able to go back to pay the 20$ they charged me to SMILE. Litterly. So they need are charging me 100$ for refusing my services..I work customer service so I understand people can be very nit picky on their services. But the way the doctor treated her nurses in front of a CUSTOMER had me angry for the nice lady.

I had about 6 teeth taken at one time to be able to get dentures and I was only in pain that day and the next morning.They really do put Excellence in everything they do. :)

Debbie Epperson: This place is a joke. Beware of all the "work" you need to have done. My husband and I stopped going here and found a dentist that is a sole practitioner. In other words, not part of a quota pushing corporation. All the thousands of dollars worth of work they claimed my husband needed was a lie. Period. They were cleaning my teeth every 3 months instead of 6, sucking all of the insurance dollars and also charging me $135 on top of it. Doing the SAME EXACT cleaning job on my teeth as they were doing on my husband. Good riddance. Beware to all.

Michelle Benson: Nurse Haylee and Doctor Ellis are phenomenal!! 😍 We have had bad experiences with a few dental offices in the past. Our daughter hated even the idea of going...but let me tell you! From the moment we walked through the door Haylee made my daughter comfortable. She helped us throughout the check in process and then took us back where we met Doctor Ellis. From the moment she came in she made us comfortable! She started talking to my daughter and myself and assured me they would do everything they could to help our little girl. At one point they both had her laughing on the table!! I highly recommend this place and their staff to anyone who needs dental care for their kids! Me and my husband will be in for our appointments soon.
A W: This is the best dental clinic i've EVER been to! I came in with a broken tooth emergency and Dr.Mike made sure to get me in within an hour and it ended up having to be extracted but it was so quick and painless! I went home and immediately told my husband they're our new dentist. I just finished my 2nd visit for a deep cleaning and fillings and once again they were so kind, painless, and quick. Chioma the dental assistant made sure I was comfortable and knew what was going on the entire time. Their vibe is so light and would make even someone afraid of the dentist feel at home!

Mary Ann Partridge: Emmanuel cleaned my teeth this year and did a fantastic job. I love going to True Dental. Thank you Dr Brown another five-star year!I really enjoy all of the staff at true dental. My husband and I have been going there for years. Yesterday Priscilla did my teeth cleaning and she did a very nice job and Dr Silver did my exam. He is very friendly outgoing and enjoyable dentist. He is also very knowledgeable and takes his time. You don't feel rushed.

OranjeKola: I would never visit this office again. For any reason.When I arrived at 11 even though I had been to Aspen Dental in LS I was told that my insurance would not be accepted. I then waited an hour before I even saw the dentist who then proceeded to poke at the teeth that were in pain and send me back up front to figure out my method of payment. Where I was told my care credit would not be accepted and that I needed to call CareCredit and get my card fixed while they proceeded to ALL take their lunch break. After I called CareCedit they told me there was no reason my card would not be accepted and that no charge attempts had even been made to my card. Crazy. Then I proceeded to wait for another 2 hours before the receptionist ask me what I was waiting for?!?!? They then went back and forth with me on my insurance again and had apparently made a new patient account for me? Then FINALLY I went in to get my teeth pulled. Because I was so numbed I obviously couldn't tell but, the dentist completely annihilated my gums while removing my teeth. I had more pain from the cuts in my gums than from the tooth pull.Thanks a lot. What a horrible 4 hours of my life.If you know whats good for you, you will skip going to this Dentist.
Andrew: I hadn’t been to the dentist in about 10 years so I was very nervous. This place exceeded my expectations. Dr Nick and the hygiene Kaylee were so thorough and explained everything so I understood. I was able to get a cleaning and an extraction same day and it was amazing.
Patty Oswald: This place is horrible, had my teeth pulled for dentures,I only saw my actual dentist twice, was told it was because they had a big turn over. Then they tell you you wont pay more then they quote, then charged me over a thousand more, and would not give me my dentures until I payed in full. then my dentures were huge from the first time I put them in, and tried to reach them by phone but always rang busy,finally drove to the office and was told system was down and had been for awhile that is why they weren't answering phones. It has been an awful experience. Still wearing teeth that fall out.

But they even found a way for me to have full dentures on a small low income in my insurance paid it all. I am so glad that I went to my appointment to Aspen dental so that I could get what I needed to eat healthier and to have more self love for my smile. Thank you Aspen dental for being there while everything else in my life seems upside down you put my smile right side up thank you.update, I told my friend in tx about Aspen, I'm now sorry I did, I now also have a new dentist. If you want affordable teeth or dentures, not where the mold is is not ready in 4 to 5 visits. My friend can't even get his REAL dentures for six months and he's making payments, run don't walk to the nearest exit. My opinion. It's a free country. You have been warned.
Tammy Wickizer: My husband was having the worst pain he’s ever had we made an appointment on a weekend was able to get one the next day. Aspen was very kind from the moment we walked in the door. They made my husband feel very comfortable on his first visit. He had a really bad infection. They were able to get him in the next day to get that taken care of. I was really impressed and relieved they did a wonderful job.

Jay Bell: 1 hr and 38 minutes! For a permanent replacement rear molar porcelain crown! AMAZING! I called at 8am Monday, they got me in at 2pm MONDAY and I was done before 4pm MONDAY. Most places this would be 2 visits over a week!I busted and swallowed the old crown over the weekend. I Survived - worst was hot and cold stuff. If I chewed on the other side.When I got there - I remined them I usually am pretty sensitive and they took the time to numb me up good. Thanks to Dr. Kepler and the whole team that helped! AMAZING! OUTSTANDING! BRAVO!Had a crown about a year back, after 'the split.' My dentist left and I got passed off to new guy. The 1hr 40 min procedure turned into 4 visits. A first 3 hour crown, then 1.5 hr when that crown came off, then first attempt at lab crown, then second attempt. With such a night and day difference, I'm changing offices.

Kaz Souder: I was in for a deep cleaning and the hygienist broke off the tip of the plaque scraper in my mouth. I was hoping I wouldn’t swallow it because my mouth was numb I couldn’t feel where it was. She said she flossed it out from between my teeth and sucked it out. Also, I have a very expensive 6 tooth bridge that goes across the top front of my mouth and one of my teeth that the bridge is attached to is hurting, which it wasn’t before. I have set up an appointment with a specialist to look at it. I hope she didn’t damage the tooth under my bridge.Update: The prosthodontic specialist I went to said the filling on my molar Dr. Ashworth did wasn’t built up high enough therefore was causing my bite to be off and it was making my bottom front teeth to hit the underside of my bridge. Dr. Ashworth did not check my bite before I left of my front teeth. My mouth was numb so I wasn’t able to tell if anything was off. After a few days I knew something wasn’t right so I had to go to a specialist. X-ray was done and what the x-ray could see it looked okay but there is no way to see the part of the tooth actually under the bridge. I’m still having discomfort from that and hopefully it didn’t damage the tooth under my bridge or the whole bridge will have to be replaced costing me thousands of dollars.

Emily Westphal: I have been going to this practice for 8 years seeing Dr. Tran & Stacey as my dental hygienist. Ever since Dr. Tran left to move to Colorado last year it has went downhill here. Stacey is no longer here as well and the practice is now rushing people through without giving proper examinations. When I visited during my routine cleaning I was told I needed a filling replaced and a deep cleaning. I was quoted $38 for the deep cleaning and filling replacement.I went in and was numbed for my deep cleaning and felt everything the hygienist was doing and it was extremely painful. The dentist examined me and told me I had two cracked teeth that needed root canals and crowns and that was the reasoning for the pain. It does not make any sense on how my teeth could have been cracked but was not noticed during my routine cleaning just a few weeks before the cleaning treatment.When checking out I was told that my total was $269. I was not given any detail on how only 1/3 treatments (I was quoted for two sessions of deep cleanings and a filling replacement) went from $38 to $269.Needless to say, I will not be going back & will be getting a second opinion.

He is not an endodontist, but he did my root canal anyway. And he was amazing. The whole staff was. My appointment was yesterday and I'm so happy I could cry from joy, I'm pain free! This place is awesome. Can't say enough great things. Worth every penny.

First problem was the bridge look awful, it is fat . It does not match the color of my natural teeth and when I try it on , it feels off. The dental assistant told me that she will send it back to lab and I just had to come back a week later.So here comes my 2nd visit, which is so unpleasant and I swear that I will never ever come back to this place. The same dental assistant, ( I wish to mention her name) she was rough. She tried to dismantle a wrong tooth, I had to tell her she is in wrong spot.The dental bridge looks bit better. The DA removed my temporaries without even asking me if I need to get numb. Oh my God it was so painful, she told me that getting anesthesia will take longer.She continues to mess with my teeth despite me complaining of severe pain. The cement was put in, I could not even focus because of pain. I just want her hands off my mouth.It has been 2 weeks now, and my teeth still throbs, my bridge feels off. I will start to look for a better dental office.

Thankfully at the time I went back to my regular dentist and he recommended me to an oral surgeon.l Worst experience of my life.Writing this review now because the so called fillings I needed are going bad. Sad nowadays how professionals take advantage of people. No follow up after the fact the dentist tried doing something she clearly did not know how to do.

Something told me to get a second opinion since I have not had that many cavities in my entire life of 67 years. I went to a dentist that I had been seeing for over 20 years and upon examination there were zero cavities and no need for a root canal and crown. I got a large filling and a very small bill. Had I returned to Eastland they would have drilled and filled perfectly good teeth and subjected a healthy tooth to a root canal and crown. Ridiculous! Beware of this business ... get a second opinion.

Big Momma: Took my 4 yr old to see Dr. Kong to have cavities filled. I’m driving 2 hrs round and at the appointment to do the fillings she tells me we will have to come back next month. Yes, my child wasn’t cooperative. She is 4. When asked if there was another option so I didn’t have to come back and potentially waste another 3 hours (I’d waited for almost an hour before she was called back.), and she proceeds to answer in probably the rudest way possible. “I mean, if want us to hold her down, pry her mouth open and put something to keep it open. She will scream the whole time, but I can do that.” The sarcasm was uncalled for and unnecessary. With the rate of inflation, not everyone can afford gas to make 4 trips of 2 hours to MAYBE have the work done. It was exceptionally unprofessional to suggest traumatizing a child. A simple answer of no anesthesiologists available or we only sedate in the mornings, or whatever the case may be would have been sufficient. AND to make it better, I can’t get her in anywhere else to have them fixed until her next cleaning is due. But there is absolutely no way I would return to that clinic. If I could have given 0 stars, I would have.
