pursefanatic: We love Blackburn Orthodontics. When you walk in the door, right up until you leave, they make you feel comfortable and like they’re happy you’re a patient. They are so great with kids, my son was only 7 when we started his orthodontia work and Dr. Blackburn and his staff have been so kind to him. They make an effort to get to know their patients and communicate directly with them, no matter their age. We’ve gotten amazing results. I’m a patient too and definitely happy we were referred to them. 😁

Nychole Amor: Made an appointment for my daughter. They waited until 15 mins before her appt to tell me they can’t verify insurance. I asked the day I scheduled what would be the cost. They told me nothing because my insurance is good insurance (quote I know your insurance it’s good insurance). So I left my money home because I travel in public transportation. The lady hid after telling me. So I couldn’t talk to anyone. They didn’t even have my daughters name correct after I spelled it over and over.

Moriah Ireland: Worst place ever! Save yourself the headache and go to somewhere who actually cares about their patients instead of just money. This place is a joke.I currently have braces through them. They’ve told me since AUGUST I WAS getting my braces off. Every appointment they have excuses to prolong and keep having me pay them. Then when I tried to ask like what’s the deal they tried to tell me I have to pay 200$ for a “early Debond” when my teeth are exactly how they was in august. 😂😂Like seriously. Plus on top of all this.. you sit and wait at your appointments FOREVER. No sense of urgency just people playing around and gossiping in the back.UPDATE: they took it upon themselves to cancel my appointment because my payment was late. Then proceeded to say they can’t schedule me till it’s paid. Which has never happened. So after I paid I have to wait a WHOLE MONTH AGAIN just to get seen so they can keep collecting payments every month. Really sad they LIE AND take advantage of people!They said they never cancelled my appointment but the proof is in the picture! I had an appointment on April 7th and they took me off the schedule. Now I have to wait till may to be seen when they’ve been telling me since AUGUST “this is probably your last appointment till you get your braces off, your teeth look great” This place is a JOKE!

They are never there and it took almost 6 months to make an appointment and when we did it was still another 4 months before the children could have their teeth fixed. I would not recommend going there. I would not have even given a star but it would not let me post without giving them one.Here it is one month later and still can not reach anyone.

Lindsey Myers: The most entitled people I’ve ever met. I’m so glad I’m done with braces and never have to deal with them again. Went in to get my retainers finally and it wasn’t fitting right. Instantly, got nothing but attitude from 3 different people before they finally got the doctor. One of them told me my retainers fit and I don’t know what I’m talking about because they went to school and I didn’t. I spent way too much money for this much disrespect. Absolutely would not recommend.

Then someone came and asked why I was in there and sent me back to the waiting room. 40 minutes after scheduled appointment time and we're still sitting it the waiting room. Clearly they don't have it together here. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I was completely blown away by how thorough the Dr. Was with his report of findings and taking the time to go over different treatment options that were available after braces. Not only was the Dr. Amazing but his assistant really complimented him and made sure we were taken care of completely! She has a beautiful heart and you can tell by how she treats her patients. I’m excited to see the end results and happy we Found such a gem of an office!

Then proceeds to discuss the COST in front of my children! Unprofessional and if I wasn’t looking to simply wrap up my children’s braces I would have left.

H O: I had been coming to the Dentists of Independence for a few years and things were fine. Yesterday, after my x-ray, the assistant and dentist picked at my teeth and kept talking about how I need to floss my teeth more often (I agree). Then, they suggested I have a deep cleaning at another time. They brought in a young man to explain the prices, kind of like a closer at a car dealership. He informed me it would cost about $1,400. I replied this was a rip-off and was not going to do this. Of course he took umbrage and that ended things. They refunded $30 of my $107. So I wasted a few hours or my time and $77 for nothing (other than an x-ray).

Norma Melendez: Dr. Mohammed Nuru, DDS., and ALL staff at Dentists of Independence Thank You. He has a great team of family and staff. They are all top of the line professionals, with superb workmanship, artistry and state of the art equipment! A CEREC Milling Unit (for same day crowns & implants). A lab on site, 3D Imaging, and TV for his patients to watch while waiting, or just to relax if they wish. Kid friendly environment very welcoming. I thought there was no hope, unless I spent a fortune. His fees are very reasonable, accepting all insurances or out of pocket patients and still affordable for all incomes, they will work with you. The whole staff is very caring, compassionate, and patient with a desire to make each patients happy with their results. This will always be my dentist, and even if I live hundreds of miles away, I will fly or drive to Dentists of Independence, for all of my dental needs. If you need quality work, at an affordable price, then you need to call Dentists of Independence to set up an appointment. You will thank God you did. I do every day....Thank you so much!Always, your most grateful patient

devcleve: I’ve been here twice for dental repair. Once to fix a cavity in a front tooth and once to repair a tooth that had broken. Both times, I was able to set an appointment within a week of calling and upon arriving, they were comfortably busy with only a client or two present other than me.I was taken back immediately following check in and seen by the assistant immediately after that and the dr immediately after that and so on.I felt important and attended to. The assistants and dr were both very nice and professional. The office is clean and the equipment is modern.I was satisfied with the quality of the repair and received exactly what I’d asked for.I have no insurance, repairing the broken tooth was $280.All things considered, I will be coming back to this office for all future dental work.Thank you.
Bailey Johnson: The staff was all very kind and friendly but they quoted me over $600 for a deep cleaning for Periodontitis and to fix a filling and that was after insurance... I went to another dentist and they did the same procedures and said yes I need to floss more in the back of my teeth but found no signs of Periodontitis, not even Gingivitis, which occurs before Periodontitis... The other dentist was also able to fix my filling within one hour and covered completely by insurance. While the staff was friendly, I do not appreciate dentist's who over quote and charge for unnecessary procedures and want people to be aware of these types of scams.
Meena H: Pros: Clean, friendly, thorough. They don't mind outlining my options, answering questions, and are always polite. Reasonably priced and willing to work to correct mistakes. They worked with me as a new patient when another office used my benefits improperly. Now for theCons: operated by one dentist, Dr. Nuru who I'm coming to think is inexperienced.He's very personable, but takes longer than usual for simple things like fillings. He also did a same day crown for me that even a year later has resulted in more sensitivity than I had before the crown. The lower tooth that meets that crown has now cracked and also needs a crown. That's even after going back for a bite adjustment.Then on the other side he put a filling on a tooth that needs a crown which resulted in the filling breaking, and hours in the chair redoing it. Then it broke AGAIN!I'm quite annoyed that I spent so much time and money there when the filling (that should have been a crown) and the cracked tooth banging again the crown they did, might have been avoided by going to a more experienced dentist.
Taiton Wurtz: I haven't been to the dentist in 6+ years due to poor dental treatment and lack of compassion. BUT YALL... I have nothing, but great things to say about this group and facility. Their call center who scheduled my original appointment was even great! Front desk staff very friendly. Drs and tech were so nice and patient. They took time to talk to me in detail about my concerns/fears. I also appreciated that they talked through their procedures step by step. Will refer them to anyone in a heartbeat. I am hopeful after a few more visits like these, my fear of the dentist will be gone!

Harmony Watson: My son and I were both apprehensive about orthodontic treatment, as I had never had an experience to share with him. They fulfilled my request for a different provider when I requested a second opinion and this appointment was positive, informative, and based on my current experience has resolved the problem I was experiencing.They only downside has been how long the appointments have taken- every appointment took 1.5-2 hours.

For one, it didn’t smell like a dentist office at all.. and 2, everyone was so like welcoming and talkitive and nice, and then also the DR, talked with me about my options and was so easy going and nice. My next appointment is less than 2 weeks and I’m actually excited to go back .

Donna Lynn: They are great people ,I have had a great experience there. They greet you at the door,and they make you feel comfortable and make sure that when they are working on your teeth or mouth that you are ok the whole time. And I love that. And if you don't understand something they take the time to explain it. Also they will work with you if you don't have all the money to pay up front..so in conclusion I think Celebrate Dental & Braces is one of the best dental places I have been to in years. And that's saying a lot coming from a veteran. Because I have not been to a dentist in 7 or 8 years and the last time I was I had to get all my teeth pulled. At least what was left of them..

Jessi: Usually I don’t write reviews, but I made the exception for this. I came in today thinking my teeth were beyond repair, and to my surprise they fixed them right up. I was so embarrassed walking in, but they didn’t make me feel ashamed or anything. I have major cracks in my front teeth that left me insecure, but now my smile looks wonderful. When I was getting my teeth done I was shaking on the seat, which was embarrassing. The dentists made sure I felt calm and told me stories to calm me down. I 100% recommend this dentists. Such kind and caring staff who just want people to live their smile

Michelle Benson: Nurse Haylee and Doctor Ellis are phenomenal!! 😍 We have had bad experiences with a few dental offices in the past. Our daughter hated even the idea of going...but let me tell you! From the moment we walked through the door Haylee made my daughter comfortable. She helped us throughout the check in process and then took us back where we met Doctor Ellis. From the moment she came in she made us comfortable! She started talking to my daughter and myself and assured me they would do everything they could to help our little girl. At one point they both had her laughing on the table!! I highly recommend this place and their staff to anyone who needs dental care for their kids! Me and my husband will be in for our appointments soon.
