Lindsay: My brother is or “had” been a resident here and works hard to stay stable. My brother is in the psych hospital today because he hadn’t t received a very crucial med for over two weeks. Now he is in a medical induced episode!!!!I am soo mad at the incompetence. Don’t bring your loved ones with sensitive meds.

Ramona Hutcheson: 0 stars is what I really give this place. During a walk thru this home proclaimed they could handle mentally ill people so we placed our family member with them. After another resident accused her we were told she was immediately kicked out. I asked how that could happen before an investigation and was told "they just wanted to stay ahead of the game." After investigation the incident could not be proven but she was kicked out anyway. Glad this place is history.

gene vestal: I have been in the Long Term Care industry for the past thirty years. Each building has it’s own personality and culture. Springfield Skilled Care and the Lodges is truly a gem in the middle of Springfield, MO. They are taking great care of people with complex needs.

Erin erinsantillan: ZERO STARS!!!My niece is there. This place should be shut down for SO many reasons! My niece even talked to the state when they did an inspection. They took the facilities side on every complaint my niece had. They have to be being paid off to let them get away with EVERYTHING! If I lived in the same state I would've been down there raising hell for the way they're treating her and all they're doing and NOT doing there. By the reviews I'm seeing it's not just happening to my niece! Shame on most of the people working there! Either they are part of the problem or they're letting this BS happen!

Sherrie Schnapp: Many of the amenities have been taken away. When my daughter lived there, there was karaoke. We frequently took meals in to our friend who still lives there because of no fresh fruits or vegetables. Now the table we sat at has been taken away. If we call to ask that a message be taken to our friend because his phone and tablet were stolen, we have not been able to get through. Multiple times, I have been hung up on if the line was answered. Theft is rampant. In another facility, my daughter's and all residents things were checked every 2 weeks to be sure everything had the resident's name, not someone else's. Not quality of life if things are stolen from your room.

michael degonia: It's absolutely infested with bed bugs. I was promised bonuses but never paid. Management will lie,cheat and steal from you, resident or employee. This place just got 23 tags, meaning they have 23 violations of state safety codes. The pay is less than every gas station and fast food joint around. One star rating is far too generous for this toxic abusive ran down "facility" Do yourself a favor and stay far away

John McDonald: Giving this place 1 star is actually too good. If you love your family member, friend, etc., find another place to put them. It should be called just Springfield Center, because of the lack of skilled workers and the fact they only care about the money they'll get from you. Their social workers are terrible and go out of their way to help you as little as possible. Their mission is to keep you there for as long as possible to continue to get your money. Living there, I literally had to schedule my own doctor appointments and transportation because the worthless social workers and nurses never did it for me. Their aids are usually poorly trained and not too interested in doing their job. That's why they have a nicely made "now hiring" sign out front constantly. There are a few nurses and aids there that actually do a great job, but are overshadowed by the ones who prefer to do the bare minimum. Lived there 7 months and never met anyone in adminstration. They also constantly cited for multiple violations when inspected by the state. You can check online by doing a simple search of skilled nursing facilities. Was absolutely miserable living there and am so glad I don't anymore. Please don't send anyone you care about here.

Regena Grosekemper: If -100 was an option, I'd still choose - 1000!! Staff will steal medication that your on. Staff will hand you medicine that is not yours nor what your taking. Staff bring you in drugs, even if you have substance abuse issues. Staff will tell your family lies. Staff will refuse medication for months at a time. Staff will also take you to a store like Lowes and have you try to get a credit card for them. This place needs to be investigated. family r

Krystal Mellon: I have just recently started working here and I love it..I have never worked in a place where the department heads actually care about their residents and staff like they do here..I have been treated with respect and treated like an actual person.. they are always willing to listen and truly have an open door policy

Buttons III: The corporation that owns the facility doesn't allow enough in the budget to keep supplies in the building for adequate nursing care. Management is made aware and nothing changes. The pay is not competitive with even gas stations which makes it impossible for them to keep staff. Staffing does not consistently meet fire code. If your family needs actual medical care and if you care about them at all, pick anywhere else.

Aleta Henry: I have worked here for about 1 yr in the therapy department. I also love my coworkers...both in therapy and nursing! This is a complicated facility...but there are so many wonderful people here that truly care about the residents. It feels good to work in a place that we can really make a difference and improve the lives of the residents.

They go above and beyond daily to do whatever it takes for those who reside here to get what they need to be comfortable and happy. We are not your typical nursing home and it takes people with big hearts to do what they do.

April Bigler: This place has no care for their employees when they try to turn in a report about sexual harassment. An older man hitting on an 18 year old who is there trying to do her best at her job without any problems. Also has no care for their employees when they have a medical issue that needs taken care of and they tell them they have to stay and finish their job before they could go to the emergency room and then tell them they had an hour to go to ER and get back. Im sorry but everybody in their right mind knows you cant get in and out of an ER in an hour.

ALICE SHOUP: I was impressed with how clean it was. The friendliness of the staff. The activities they were doing. They provide the beds and bedding, and basic furniture. Love Julie's enthusiasm about her job and the place that she works and the people that she works with. Totally impressed with the whole thing. I had three days to place my person and they are making it happen. I'm over the top excited.

Jon Schmidt: Dad lived there over 2 years. My family and I could not have been more overjoyed! We saw dad 1-2 times per week (we work outside our homes). Every staff person from every department was kind, loving and helpful. They have dementia centered activities. The food is really good! I ate there many times. This facility has zero odor! I toured about 6 other facilities before placing dad here In August 2019. They care about the residents,they are not just there for a a pay check. I work in Health care in another part of MO and go into other facilities. Cedarhurst is way better than any facility I Have ever been to in 30 years. I interacted with every department and each and every time it was a positive experience! When hospice started the last week of his life they let me stay 24/7 and even fed me! Thank you to all the staff of Cedarhurst, you are the absolute best!

Jennifer Yoneoka: I am responding to your response to Patti Hendrix. She is my stepsister. I think it's a little to late to turn this around. You dropped him off alone at Cox emergency when he was 4th stage Alzheimers. He passed yesterday. I'm glad he will be reunited with my mother in heaven and he never has to return to this horrible place. An investigation has been opened into your facility.

Patti Hendrix: Staff do not care for their patients, get rude with family and general disregard for improving their quality. Our dad was treated terribly, and even their janitor was condescending! Do not put your family here. Buyer beware.

Jamie Ross: I personally knew one of the nurses there . Tara Walton she is such an amazing woman. Very passionate about her job and the residents she takes care of .. Very loving well educated nurse super friendly .

Innovative Self Care: I have a friend who worked here, so all I have to say is beware. This place is only driven by money. They do not care about the residents at all. They hire anybody off the street. I have a second hand account from a reliable source, that the nurses steal residents narcotics. They also do not follow state laws on the the ratio for staff to resident. They have been infested with bed bugs and scabies. They allowed a staff to come in drunk when they were told many times about the situation, to the point where the police had to escort the man from the premise, and his B.A.C was to high to even drive his car, yet he was responsible for these residents lives. I was so appalled when my friend told me these stories, so i felt obligated to share. I do not know how we continue to let these establishments run their buisness, our health care system needs a big wake up call.

cdv: I am a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Director of Nursing. The Administrator Dean and all his staff have been wonderful in caring for my husband. I visit often and can testify to the cleanliness, food, nursing care and general well-being of all the residents. This is a good home for our loved ones.

Kami Myrick: Beautiful facility and that is about it. We expected an "Alzheimer's Special Care Unit" but it is anything but that. Not only is there not enough staff for the need of the patients, but the staff is untrained and many times unprofessional. The leaders of this facility fall short of the founders wishes to create a facility for the specified needs of an Alzheimer's patient. Maple Wood is just another nursing home and not a good one at that. Patients would constantly be begging to be taken to the bathroom or to get them a drink of water and there was very rarely anyone available to help them. Patients would sit for hours in the same place with no interaction. The problems we had here became severe and concerning and I would never recommend such a place to anyone. Maple Wood was created with a grand vision to become the perfect place for Alzheimer's patients to get the special care they need. Don't believe the marketing and don't believe the sales pitch you get when you visit. All that glitters isn't gold.
