Ashley Stone: I called a few adult day programs before I found Adult Tendercare. I knew from the first conversation with them that this was the place for my sister, who has down syndrome. I believe I spoke with them on a Thursday, she started the following Tuesday. My sister is very vocal on where she wants/doesnt want to be, but since day one she always comes home in the BEST mood and ready to go back the next day. The staff here is AMAZING! They are oh so kind and accommodating. I can go to work everyday knowing that my sister is safe, happy, and well cared for. There are other adults there of all genders and ability levels, so there is a friend for everyone. I would reccomend this place to anybody who is in need of a safe place for their loved one to go during the day. You will not be disappointed.

Mel A: After reading all of the positive reviews we were very comfortable that this was going to be a good stay for our mom. It is clean and nice inside. My issues were with horrible communication by everyone assisting our mother. We asked for and did not receive any communication and had to chase down every update. Not one time was I able to speak to the Doctor Who was supposedly treating our mother. Apparently they visit once a week. If you need rehab services I would look elsewhere as it doesn’t seem to be the priority. One positive was the nurses. They did seem to take good care of her and actually care about her health. I don’t typically leave poor reviews but I think it’s important in this case.

rod elwell: My father has been a resident of the Elfindale community for 5 years. They always promoted the continuity of being able to go from one facility to the other as your care needs increased. My father fell and broke his hip and was going to need rehabilitation therapy for a few weeks. They (the Manor) denied admitting him and we are now forced to look elsewhere. The one time he needed their help they refused. It appears their true nature came through.

Sterling Short: I own some skilled nursing facilities in AZ and WA, and my career has involved visiting a couple thousand facilities. My mother has been a resident at Elfindale for almost 2 years. I can assure you that Elfindale is a very well run skilled nursing facility! I would put it in the top 1%. Well done to Matt and the team at Elfindale! Lots to be proud of, especially during such challenging times!

Timothy Slover: My mother was a pedestrian in a car accident at Lowe’s. She has medical insurance. However, because elfindale was concerned about the potential for litigation with the driver my sweet 85 year old mother got denied care by elfindale. Really lacking class and compassion.

Joni Thomas: If I could do a negative -5 rating I would do so. My mother was at Elfindale Manor for senior rehab after a 5 day hospital stay. I was told by Elfindale that her insurance would cover 20 days of rehab. She is 92, and it was a serious situation. However, Elfindale would not cover this time, and made very ambiguous excuses. Then they demanded payment within 10 days, where by law you have up to 30 days to pay a bill in the state of Missouri. I made the payment by 30 days, then after it was paid I received a threatening letter in the mail from Elfindale.There has been administration changes at Elfindale since 2016 when my mother also had a 3 month stay for rehab, which her social security and Tricare insurance totally covered. In 2016 she receive very good care, and she was even able to return to her own home. Now the administration in my opinion is not advocating for patients at Elfindale, but they have become very greedy forcing seniors to pay out of pocket when their insurance should cover the rehab stay.No longer can I recommend Elfindale for any situation for a loved one. They also have add-on costs so you really never know what the bill will be until you receive it. The staff frankly is also not that great any longer either.My mother is now in a very good assisted living location without “hidden costs”. The staff is light years better than Elfindale.Although over the decades Elfindale had a very good reputation. From first hand experience this is no longer the case!

I knew before she moved in that it was an exceptional care facility, but I found out just how good it really is—and how kind and caring the staff and administrators really are—once she moved in and I was there multiple times daily. In addition to excellent care, the outdoor settings are fabulous and provide a wonderful place to take your loved one outside to enjoy the view. I am happy to give The Manor at Elfindale the highest possible rating.

The staff is responsive, caring, professional, and approachable in every aspect. The therapists are amazing and really know how to customize treatment plans for each patient. Everyone from administration to the nursing and nursing assistants to even the cleaning staff took time to acknowledge and treat both my husband and me with dignity and respect at all times. Jan Atkinson: Our aunt has been at Elfindale for about a year and a half now. This is by far the best facility in Springfield in terms of the care she receives and the atmosphere we find there. A lovely place that doesn't feel like a "nursing home", but is truly a "care" facility. We have had experience with a couple of other facilities with our mothers, and The Manor has far exceeded our expectations!

Lindsay Peterman: Tried to get my father into this location due to good reviews and the fact that they provide a specific therapy that he needs and is difficult to find. They rejected him so I called to get specific reasons as to why. Matt, informed be that because he had polio as a child and recently a stroke (reason he needs therapy) that he would require just too much care and they didn't feel he could progress. This judgment is all based off of paper, no eyes laid upon my father. Matt then suggest we take him home and have therapy come to our house. I explain that we live in a rural area and can't get any form of such therapy there (we've already tried this) let alone the specialized therapy he needs. Then Matt proceeds to start playing God and telling me that I need to accept this is the end for my father. Once again, Matt has no idea who my father actually is and how he's said many times he wants to live and get better. My father is 66 years old, the Hell if I'm giving up on him.Edit 3/26/17I put this same review on their Facebook page and it was deleted. Hmm... All I did was state what happened but they must not want the truth getting out.

Laura Payne: We moved my Grandparents to Joy Assisted living, from Florida so that they could be closer and we could visit them and make sure that they were being well taken care of. They were still able to do things on their own, but needed a little help with things like medication and meals. We were so happy to find a place that would allow them to stay together in their own space.When it eventually got to the point that my Grandfather had to be hospitalized, It was very hard on them to be apart, but the staff at Joy, were so good and very attentive to my Grandmother, and kept her busy with activities and encouraged her to socialize with other residents, so that she was able to cope and thrive on her own. The staff are very friendly and I love the fact that this is a family owned and operated facility, It definitely has the feeling of being with family. Thank you for taking such good care of my Grandparents.

RON TURNER: JOY ASSISTED LIVING THE STRAIGHT SCOOP ON THIS PLACE !!!I am 73 years old and I want to make some comments or review on Joy Asst Living in Springfield Mo. . I have had a stroke and 3 heart attacks, plus I am prone to falling. i have a need for an assisted living facility that will assist me in my daily activities. I have lived in 5 different assisted living facilities.What I found with most of them was I was just something they had to deal with. It seemed when I asked for help it was given grudgingly, I was just part of the job they had to do.I am a combat wounded veteran and fiercely independent, I want to take care of myself as much as possible. I dont call out for help only on the rarest of occasions. This makes me feel like when I do ask, they would be willing to give me a little help.My family and I searched for a place where I would be treated with the care and respect I needed. I had all I wanted of assisted living places that thought you were interrupting their day to get assistance. On a tip from one of the employees at one of these facilities, I found Joy Assisted Living.The difference was profound at Joy the employees actually care about my needs. I get my meds consistently on time, They track my Dr. appointments and then take me there and pick me up. I dont have time to get bored, everyday there are activities they have; that gets the residents together, and in time it begins to feel like your family. Joy also has usually once a month a group outing, sometimes its to Branson for a show, or a trip to the casino to take advantage of the buffet they have, its always something.fun. After being here a year I feel like this is my family, because I have limited ability to move some parts of my body, they assist me with my showers and some other needs.To be honest living here is really worry free for me, I have freedom to come and go as I please and when I am there the staff all know my name,what my needs are, and every day I get smiles instead of feeling like I am bothering them.The food? Ha the food is good, too much so I have gained 15 pounds this year eating their meals. They pay attention to your diet and they have suggested increased activity to keep my weight down.if you are looking for a superclean place to place a loved one, I highly recommend Joy Asst Living. I am an old grouch, that thinks nothing is good enough for me, well till I got here.I love it here, my guardian was worried that it would be like so many of the others and I would be unhappy, well now she is happy and I am content to be living here. I wish my real family was as loving and glad to see me as they are here.. if you have any questions give me a call here. I'll tell you straight up you can pay more but you wont get more.

Michael Richardson: My Grandfather has been there for some time, not by request of the family but by a cheap lawyer from Springfield. He has been neglected there, visually can tell he hasn't showered and no one has assisted him. Basic hygiene care for your elders will be gone if you bring them here. They have had at least 4 "ACCIDENTS" involving my grandfather. That all came from neglect. He bedroom is not cleansed daily by staff. Oh the staff, all are very lazy. He toilet overflooded one time, he called me, so we went by. No one mopped up the floor, the simply covered it with blankets and walked away. So just know its not assisted living.. it's assisted DEATH.

Katrina Richardson: Would give no stars if possible. My husband's grandfather has fell once. Bathroom has been backed up 3 times and they just leave towels laying all over the place that's there clean up job. Went to see him around Christmas and him and his room smelt. Asked him when was the last time he showered and he said a month ago. Now we call and they say he has left the building and is not there. Had to call every hospital in Springfield to find out he was in the hospital. The hospital says he is there but is unable to talk the phone just rings.

Prior to this, he had a very bad experience at the first facility he stayed at and I never expected to find a place for him that was "good enough." It is heartwarming to hear him say, after a hospital stay, that he is "glad to be home."
