I am still working here and I can honestly say the employees do care about each and every one here.. Residents become like family and I love coming in to giving it my all to help or just listen to what they want to talk about. . Everyone is treated with respect, care and privacy that they deserve. There families are more than welcome to always ask any questions or visit there love ones. Or take them out for a day .

Laura Payne: We moved my Grandparents to Joy Assisted living, from Florida so that they could be closer and we could visit them and make sure that they were being well taken care of. They were still able to do things on their own, but needed a little help with things like medication and meals. We were so happy to find a place that would allow them to stay together in their own space.When it eventually got to the point that my Grandfather had to be hospitalized, It was very hard on them to be apart, but the staff at Joy, were so good and very attentive to my Grandmother, and kept her busy with activities and encouraged her to socialize with other residents, so that she was able to cope and thrive on her own. The staff are very friendly and I love the fact that this is a family owned and operated facility, It definitely has the feeling of being with family. RON TURNER: JOY ASSISTED LIVING THE STRAIGHT SCOOP ON THIS PLACE !!!I am 73 years old and I want to make some comments or review on Joy Asst Living in Springfield Mo. . I have had a stroke and 3 heart attacks, plus I am prone to falling. i have a need for an assisted living facility that will assist me in my daily activities. I have lived in 5 different assisted living facilities.What I found with most of them was I was just something they had to deal with. It seemed when I asked for help it was given grudgingly, I was just part of the job they had to do.I am a combat wounded veteran and fiercely independent, I want to take care of myself as much as possible. I dont call out for help only on the rarest of occasions. This makes me feel like when I do ask, they would be willing to give me a little help.My family and I searched for a place where I would be treated with the care and respect I needed. I had all I wanted of assisted living places that thought you were interrupting their day to get assistance. On a tip from one of the employees at one of these facilities, I found Joy Assisted Living.The difference was profound at Joy the employees actually care about my needs. I get my meds consistently on time, They track my Dr. appointments and then take me there and pick me up. I dont have time to get bored, everyday there are activities they have; that gets the residents together, and in time it begins to feel like your family. Joy also has usually once a month a group outing, sometimes its to Branson for a show, or a trip to the casino to take advantage of the buffet they have, its always something.fun. After being here a year I feel like this is my family, because I have limited ability to move some parts of my body, they assist me with my showers and some other needs.To be honest living here is really worry free for me, I have freedom to come and go as I please and when I am there the staff all know my name,what my needs are, and every day I get smiles instead of feeling like I am bothering them.The food? Ha the food is good, too much so I have gained 15 pounds this year eating their meals. They pay attention to your diet and they have suggested increased activity to keep my weight down.if you are looking for a superclean place to place a loved one, I highly recommend Joy Asst Living. I am an old grouch, that thinks nothing is good enough for me, well till I got here.I love it here, my guardian was worried that it would be like so many of the others and I would be unhappy, well now she is happy and I am content to be living here. I wish my real family was as loving and glad to see me as they are here.. if you have any questions give me a call here. I'll tell you straight up you can pay more but you wont get more.

Michael Richardson: My Grandfather has been there for some time, not by request of the family but by a cheap lawyer from Springfield. He has been neglected there, visually can tell he hasn't showered and no one has assisted him. Basic hygiene care for your elders will be gone if you bring them here. They have had at least 4 "ACCIDENTS" involving my grandfather. That all came from neglect. He bedroom is not cleansed daily by staff. Oh the staff, all are very lazy. He toilet overflooded one time, he called me, so we went by. No one mopped up the floor, the simply covered it with blankets and walked away. So just know its not assisted living.. it's assisted DEATH.

Katrina Richardson: Would give no stars if possible. My husband's grandfather has fell once. Bathroom has been backed up 3 times and they just leave towels laying all over the place that's there clean up job. Went to see him around Christmas and him and his room smelt. Asked him when was the last time he showered and he said a month ago. Now we call and they say he has left the building and is not there. Had to call every hospital in Springfield to find out he was in the hospital. The hospital says he is there but is unable to talk the phone just rings.

Both were very specific and detail oriented to suit the needs of those in their care.We found a newly remodeled, ready to move in home that could be open to the business the very next day. However, the owners went the extra mile, hiring professionals to make even more updates and upgrades to both indoor and outdoor of the property, so that people in their care will benefit to the highest for their stay at Close to Paradise Assisted Living. Couple of months later, when I have visited their place, I was amased to see the changes that they have made. The services and atmosphere is of a high-end retreat place. Everyone in the office, and the facility, that we have worked with especially Philip, Debbie, Tammara & Trisha have been just phenomenal. They provided us with all the information we could have ever needed. They never made us feel like we were a bother to them no matter how many questions I had or emails I sent. This was a whole new experience for us as Grandma had always lived independently prior to an infection that impacted her so badly that she is no longer able to. We didn’t know exactly what we were looking for size wise or level of care wise. But Philip, Debbie and Trisha made the process so easy.Trisha and Philip went out of their way to spend HOURS with my Grandma the day before she was to totally move in to make sure she really felt comfortable with the sections. Trisha even called to share what had occurred at 6pm on a Friday evening. When she easily could have just gone home. Needless to say Grandma was NOT happy about giving up her freedom or moving out of the neighborhood she’s been in most of her life. The thing is that neither of them had to do that and neither were asked to do so. They saw a problem/need and decided they would do all they could to make sure a solution was found and that Grandma felt comfortable with the decision. Trisha and Philip went out of their way and gave up the time that they could have been using to do their true jobs. Instead they took the time to listen to her reservations about the move and found ways to remedy most of those issues.I could go on and on about great this place is, but I won’t. The last thing I will say is that my Grandma is not the easiest person in the world to please. But she has gone on and on about how truly lovely every single person she has encountered during her stay is. I truly feel that this facility and everyone we have come into contact with during the last couple weeks have been amazing. Anyone who is able to move into Morningside East would be lucky.

Mary Blackburn: We just moved my mom to Morningside. She was not a happy camper. Wanted to stay on north side of town. Trish spent several hours with her yesterday. They discussed my moms concerns. She had a complete change of heart. Trish went above and beyond her job duties. Thanks also to Debbie and Phillip. This is a wonderful place to call home. Big rooms and the food is wonderful.

Angela Abbott: It's beautiful and immaculate, but that's as far as it goes. When touring for a family member, I asked if they would help her to the dining room and help her with showering. I was assured of both, since it is ASSISTED living. The head nurse assessed, and cleared, my family member as able to live there, but once moved in, this nurse berated her, repeatedly, about what she needed assistance with. (Specifically getting to the dining room and showering.) She was demeaning and hateful and we found out that she's like that with pretty much everyone. The dining room is spacious and beautiful, but the food is no better than a nursing home. A lot about the place was seriously misrepresented. I suggest doing respite with them before committing to renting an apartment to save having to pay the community fee. ($1,000) We are glad we went that route, at least.The reason I even gave more than one star is because most of the aides on staff, who actually assist tenants, are wonderful. They seem to understand that the people living there are paying customers, deserving of respect.

Libby Phillips: My mother lived at Morningside for 2 and 1/2 years. The staff was very attentive, supportive and loving. She was placed at a dining table with a group of ladies who were perfect for her. The building is very nice and furnished beautifully. If you are looking for a place in Springfield, I can think of none better.

BASS HEAD 4 LYFE: Very deceptive place !! If Angela Haile LPN -RSD will lie repeatedly to its applicants she will lie to anyone about anything !! I was lied to repeatedly by this woman was told I would get a return phone call 6x never ever received one. The thing is if you lie about 1 thing you’ll lie about another so I’m sure there is underlying issues here as well

Ema Textor: I was employed here in October and they have 0 respect, one example is how I was blown up during a funeral then asked to come in when I had a contagious fever of 100.2.I have since quit due to the lack of compassion for employees from management and the high expectations of management to the employees to have compassion for the residents.

Helen Phillips: My 94 year old mother-in-law moved into Springhouse Village in Springfield, MO about 3 weeks ago. She has a Foyer Entry 1 bedroom unit facing the courtyard. We liked this unit because of its outdoor access to the courtyard where there is a water feature, beautiful flowers and interesting shrubs. She was able to take her patio chairs and even a potted plant to put on her patio. Since she lived on a farm most of her life it is very good to see grass and living things just outside her door. When walking into this facility it is like entering an upscale hotel. Her meals are good and she is eating much better than when she was in her own home. The owners have put a great deal of thought and used their previous experiences to create a wonderful facility with zero entry showers, easy access to the closet area, great lighting with lots of natural daylight through windows and doors and general lighting. The window coverings operate easily and are very nice. She has a full size refrigerator where she can have her ice cream handy for herself or her visitors. The great grandchildren love that. The great grands also are pleased that she has room for them to have a few of the toys they played with at her house. My husband is very relieved to know she is being well cared for and that she is safe with trained professionals. They take care of ordering and administering all her medications in the proper dosage and and time. She has enjoyed the activities like bingo, movies, and drives into the country. She is able to walk with her walker to get her hair done in the salon. Shannon makes her hair appointment a treat. It has given my mother-in-law some independence back because she is able to schedule her appointment herself and get herself to the salon without relying on someone to transport her. Being with her peer group and visiting with others has restored a quality of life that she was missing in her own home.

Sara Collins: I started working here since day one and I absolutely love it . Management is caring and listens , all the staff I work with are great . Everyone is really caring . The facility is beautiful. The apartments are spacious and each have there own patio with a door the can go out and set anytime they want . The courtyards are beautiful with each having a fountain. There is a full beauty salon , excerise room , movie theater. Every hall has a safe room/ laundry room . The meals are prepared and served like fine dining. Our residents are happy and all have said how they love being here . If you are looking for a great place to work or looking for a place for your loved ones , family , this is the best place . I would highly recommend to anyone !!

Kim Lewis: This place is Mom's home. It isn't a normal assisted living place but more like a luxury extended stay. She has her own one bedroom apartment with plenty of room to make it her own. The staff goes out of their way to make not only my Mom feel happy. The nursing staff is excellent. They take care of all of her health needs. I just can't say enough about the way the staff including the nursing staff treat my Mom. She absolutely loves it here. The center keeps her busy with their activities including bingo, exercise, movies, road trips and piano time along with happy hour just to mention a few. They have an inhouse physical therphy, beauty salon (Shannon loves her ladies), a library and the latest is inhouse x-ray and lab work. Thank goodness for the new additions because now Mom will have limited exposure at the doctor's office. Mom says the food is excellent. Mom has a court yard that she just finds very peaceful. The landscraping is just breathtaking. This is a place that my Mom just loves and I do too. They keep my Mom on a schedule which is a good thing. They also keep her safe, healthly and happy. They have excellent COVID-19 protocols and they keep us updated on any changes. I expect a lot out of where Mom lives and this place exceeds all expectations. I looked everywhere in Springfield and I couldn't have found a better place for my Mom and my Mom agrees. So to the staff at Springhouse, I can't thank you enough for what you do for my Mom.

Angela Smith: After my parents received their first Covid vaccinations, I renewed my search for the right assisted living community for this next phase of their lives. I started looking just before everything shut down in 2020 and paused my search to keep them safely at home. I looked at six communities, including one that was new and within one minute of my home that would have been by far the most convenient. It just wasn’t right. In fact, none of them were right for my parents, either due to space, location, food quality, or decor/atmosphere. A friend asked if I had toured the new Springhouse Village, which I hadn’t heard about. It is also near my home, and I scheduled a tour. From the moment I turned into the village and walked through the door, I knew it was perfect. Tricia Smith is extremely gracious, welcoming and informative. I saw numerous apartments with layouts that would work. The atmosphere, amenities (on-site salon, theater, storm shelters in laundry rooms, lovely courtyards, patios, etc.) and inviting dining room checked off everything on my wish list—and provided even more advantages. Now that they’ve moved in, my parents are thriving. Dad raves about the food, and both of my parents appreciate the care they’re receiving—particularly from Melinda. I highly recommend Springhouse Village. A

Rebecca Woods: Melinda was my first contact and tour guide for Springhouse Village. Her sincere and charming personality made a huge impression on me and made me feel my mother would be welcomed and cared for. Springhouse Village is a beautiful and state of the art "home". Each common area is designed for their residents to feel at home and cared for. Have Melinda give you a tour, you will not be disappointed.

Sara Bowles: Owner is not trustworthy and will manipulate patients, and will isolate them from family & friends. Not to mention they over charge for their private unlicensed assisted care, which is a small 2 two car garage converted to 4 rooms attached to the owners house in Willard. $6000 a month for a tiny room, most other licensed care places are $4000 or less a month for more space, care, and activities.I would not recommend their assisted care facility or hospice to anyone.

Judi Whitworth: I was guardian for a friend of mine and he made the decision to go under the care of Jacobs Care Center and it was an excellent place. Very clean, caring and thorough in the care they gave him. Cannot say enough good things about Camille and her staff.
