Tessa Summers: I'm so disappointed because my bf used to live in Springfield and it was his favorite place. We havent been down in a while but it was our place to go. We were really looking forward to it.Not only was this terrible for what we know of Leons reputation but it was worse than I've had at almost any Asian cuisine. Our wait service was bad. Communication was good but attentiveness to detail was awful. They were not busy as it was Monday at 8pm but still somehow got the feeling we were rushed. The waitress cordial. She was prompt taking our order and getting our drinks. But once food came out, we were on our own until the check.The food was sad. We could eat most of it so did not get a one star but waa close. Four of us split an appetizer and barely choked down one dry and undefiled crab Rangoon. I wish i had gotten a picture of it all. The portions were small or mostly rice/noodle but it was good we weren't complaining. Until we got the bill.Four plates and one appetizer was about 100 bucks. None of us ordered anything fancy. Chicken dishes mainly and i was the only person to not finish. The plates were normal size (even on the small side for Asian cuisine) and Definitely not 20 dollars in quality. I mentioned rhe crab Rangoon because we had some left between all of us and the reply was "so you're done with it".After a 20 min wait and going to the counter, we finally paid for it all and still tipped but won't be eating here again. I had to go to the front and stop two people just to pay and get a bag. We ordered cashew & sweet & sour chicken. The chicken was very tough . . . brought home for our dog. Also, the sauce for the cashew chicken was completely different. Nothing like the old sauce! It's a great stop if you're downtown near the square, and a mandatory place to have in the mix if you eat Cashew Chicken on the regular. The chicken here is extra crispy, cut large, and has a bit of a country-fried flavor to me. Unlike some spots, ordering other chicken dishes here isn't a mistake; everything is good, and they are consistent with the quality. It's a family-run business, too. Years ago, I remember that somebody downtown smashed their front window in, and it was heart-breaking.

The new owners are the nicest people I’ve ever met! One day I came in to pick up my food and there was a blind man getting his food in front of me. The woman who was behind the register swiped the man’s card then a prompt for a tip came up. This could have been an opportunity for the woman to give herself a good tip without mentioning it to the man, instead she clicked no tip, and handed the man his food and told him to have a wonderful day. 10/10 I would recommend this place to any food lover!

elysha mcadoo: So disappointed. They used to be my go too order for Chinese delivery as we are just outside of town. The egg drop soup was a favorite until today. Our order was correct, but not as good as it has been. The egg drop soup was just wrong. It tasted un seasoned. The crab Rangoon was half burnt and pretty un stuffed. Our mains, an orange chicken and cashew chicken, were dry in the meat and soggy in the rice. Even our side of low mein noodles was under sauced and bland. Overall it was way below our expectations and super disappointing. I didn't even get any soy sauce on the side (after asking for extra). I don't know what changed, but hopefully for the other regular customers they figure it out. I know it will be some time before I give them a chance again.

I wouldn't say it's THE best, but it's up there, top 3 for sure. It's a great option if you're trying this local classic and want have the gold-standard experience. The cashew sauce has excellent flavor, hewing close to Leong's original recipe I believe. Canton Inn or Leong's both tend to be the places you take someone who's new to the area to try Cashew Chicken for the first time -- in fact, it's Canton Inn most often due to it's convenient location close to another local must-have experience, Bass Pro Shop. It tends to be busy as a result.

I got the veggie lo mein and spring rolls, my son The General chicken and crab rangoon. I was very pleased with the food and service on this date and time! The spring rolls were absolutely amazing! I don't know what kind of magic you're doing in that kitchen but keep that up! :-)

Etronoxz: I have been eating here pretty consistently throughout the years and it just kinda sucks when one of your favorite places just doesn’t taste the same i love the chicken fried rice and last couple times ive gotten it its been pretty overcooked i used to not care when that happens but now im paying $13 for it it should be perfect if im paying that much for basically rice. its just a shame to see the prices go way up and the quality is really poor as of now feels just serving anything even if its messed up i really hope they rebound and get on the right track but as of now i probably wont be back for awhile but The staff is really nice and friendly!

MrPJ Vernon: My first and last time here at the buffet. All the sauces taste like they have too much sugar. The one cup of soup I had I couldn't finish it tasted sour like bad sour... The combination of the two reminded me of eating sour patch gummies that sweet to sour extreme just is not for me... But hey some people like that kind of thing. Also no adult beverages to wash out the taste.

They put old chicken into the sauces of something else to cover up it was old. It cost $40 for one large beef and rice, 1 buffet, and 2 drinks?!?! I almost walked out and honestly I should have it was so gross. The excuse the lady gave us was “everything is more expensive these days”. I most definitely made the remark that at least other places taste good.

Chicken Monkey: *Please help!*This post is riddled with nostalgia for my childhood soul food. Jade East Chinese food on Campbell street. So forgive me for the rant.My earliest memory of eating in a restaurant is at Jade East. The one with the iconic blue roof over it, close to bass pro.. I remember being 4 years old, sitting on my booster seat and making PILES of "cripsy wings" off of crabrangoons. (I was only after the insanely delicious sweet and smooth creamy goodness in the middle.) If I was to be offered my last meal I would ask for Crabrangoons from Jade East and that is a fact. That paired with the wonderful savoryness of their decades perfected chicken fried rice.... That's my first encounter with "soul food." I was a hefty kid with a ravenous appetite. It was the buffet that I could go eat all I wanted and it tasted this good?! I fell in love with food in those days. They were formative for me. It was the restaurant that filled my belly and my soul. It's probably my favorite restaurant of all time for these reasons.I want them to thrive again. I'm begging this group to help them do so again...Go order fresh! Either sit down or to go. Their buffet has been lackluster since 2019. Only because of a huge downturn of people not visiting buffets as much as they used to. They have kept it open and have pushed through regardless of profit. If you want to bring a party to eat buffet, just simply ask them to make fresh anything you'd like and they will get after it! They love to feed Springfield. It's a big family in there. They are apart of Springfield's family too and I think it's time we reminded them of that.I couldn't recommend more highly from the depths of my Springfield foodie soul.... the 4 following dishes at Jade East.1. Lindsey: I use to love this place, after tonight I will not be back! The staff was rude the tables were dirty the food was not quickly thrown together and without the usual veggies. The rice was plain white not fried like usual, and the crab ragoons are tasteless. We were not offered drinks or a receipt with our purchase. And it was higher price than several other restaurants aroumd town that are much better and friendlier!

I went to pay for our cashew chicken and potstickers and my card was declined because I was $2 short. I removed the potstickers and we sat down and got our cashew chicken. The man working (I think he may be the owner but I’m not sure) brought over potstickers, smiled and walked away. Life has been very rough for our family lately and this man has no idea what that meant to my son and me. My son ate every single one and was ecstatic. Thank you so much, whoever you are. The food is good quality, though it's much better as a sit-down restaurant than trying the drive-thru or to-go as the sauce can take the crunch out of the submerged and steaming hot chicken. Not sure if they still have it, but for a time they offered a very small buffet option. This may have just been for lunch and/or on certain days. It was nice, if limited. I love Chinese Chef!
