Jonnathan J Rodriguez: Nice experience, when there without appt and dropped off the bikes for a tune up, picked them up a few days later and took the for a ride around Forest park over the weekend. They feel great, appreciate the work they put on them! Totally recommended, might be back for some accessories. Go and check it out, they also sell and rent bikes, in case you have some friends and in town and want to show them the park.
Rishi Gattu: I thought this was a really honest bike shop. They did not try to upsell me anything, but helped me with what I needed. Both Eric and Matt were very helpful and nice. I will definitely be bringing my bikes here in the future.
Oliver Fend: I want to be fair to my local bike shop. This is the place I got within walking or biking distance after all. People here are friendly. When I had issues with my back cog on my fixie the mechanic made sure I went out the door with a functional bike that was safe to ride. When the time and care is put into my ride, it doesn't go unnoticed.I could complain about the prices, but I'm not the one who dominates the market in the CWE. The prices reflect the local economy which consists of the geared out dentist in a bright matching kit who rides for leisure.Where I have the biggest issue is that sometimes the priority is making a buck rather than honesty. I'm the last head in the area you should bust. I work as a bike messenger. I ride my bike in the city daily. When I come in for fresh tires I need durable lasting tires designed for STL streets. I can't be sold soft racing tires marketed to me as long lasting. Those tires lasted me a week. I understand wanting to help, but I wish it was a little more straight up. Situations like this break my confidence in this place. Big shark had tires for the same price designed for what I do. I could feel the difference on my thumb and index finger.I know more about bikes than the average Joe. It's my job to ride one. However I don't know everything, so my first inclination is to trust those who are around the parts all day.
Jezzabelle Arnold: Wow! Fixed my bike within a day, and when another part loosened I had it fixed in fifteen minutes! Paid less than I expected to, and on top of that not one bit of rudeness or condescension when I didn't know something! Almost perfect, only thing wrong with it is how hard it is to find from the street. It's in a grey building :)
Shauna Montoya: I absolutely would recommend Mike's Bikes to anyone needing work on their bike in STL. I have had an unprecedented number of fixes required as I use my bike to commute and they've always helped me with a fast turnaround and incredibly reasonable pricing. The guys that work in the shop are also very friendly and welcoming. I'm sure I'll be back in the shop soon, but so should you if you need any help with bikes

chaun walker: I dropped my son’s bike off because I tried to change the back brake cable and replace the brake pads.Long story short it didn’t go as planned LOL. I received a call about a week after I dropped off the bike and the person told me, I needed front and back brakes mind you I was just working on the bike so I know the front brakes were good. Next my rear wheel was bent LOL. With all the MYSTERY REPAIRS TOTAL WILL BE 165.00. I KINDLY WENT AND GOT THE PICKED UP THE BIKE. That same day I dropped off the bike at BICYCLES OF KIRKWOOD!!!!! I JUST PICKED THE BIKE UP AND MY BILL WAS A TOTAL OF 60.00 I WOULD UPLOAD THE RECEIPT IF POSSIBLE... Guess what he charged me for a BIKE TUNEUP!!!!! MIKES BIKE SHOP IS A RIPOFF!!!!!!

I bought my Raleigh bike from Paul and I love it. His customer service is really top notch and you can tell he is very passionate about what he does. I am glad I found his place!!

Robert Schurz: I bought my first road bike from Paul. He is very passionate about bikes. In fact, he quit engineering just to run his bike hobby full time. He is very intelligent and will come up with innovative solutions to fit different components on the bike. For example, only one of the shifters on the bike I have was broken, so he replaced it with a newer shifter that uses a different mechanism. He taught me (a beginner) how to ride, adjust, and fix my road bike. He went above and beyond to fit the bike to my needs. All his bikes come with a 90 day warranty, which is great. I've now had the bike, which I use to commute every day, for 7 months. I'm very satisfied with the bike and will definitely go to him again for any repairs and tuning! The Recycled Cycles are sold at a very reasonable price compared to other bike giants. I paid ~$600 for a bike that would normally cost over $1000. For any skill level, Paul will find or build you a bike to fit your needs!

His in house workshop is clean and orderly, and you will sleep soundly knowing that your bike is in the hands of an experienced bicycle mechanic rather than with a fly by night kid working a summer job.

michael nerl: The work I've gotten there has always come out correct. Recently this has been a chain and tires over about a year. Their selection is better now that things are getting back to 'normal'. Last trip I had was somewhat obnoxious as the younger person at the register kept trying to upsell me on $400+ worth of stuff when I needed/came in for far less than that. However I did ultimately get what I was looking for and I have been satisfied with the quality.
Mike Davis: I recently moved from Boston to St Louis in March and was looking for a new bicycle repair shop for my bike. The previous shop I attended really took care of my prize possession and I had high hopes based on reviews this place would do the same.My bike went in for about a week of overdue service and after it came back, I did not recognize it! They did a phenomenal job and you can really see the attention to detail required to get this unit back to near new again.South Side, thanks for you help. Molly Wagner: We love this business. I honestly can’t say enough good things about their service and all the people who work there. We have 7 kids and have probably bought close to 15 bikes from them over the years. Every purchase has been easy. They help our kids pick out an appropriate bike without pressure to buy the most expensive bike. Yesterday, I brought my 10 year old to pick up a new bike we had ordered last week. One employee spent about 10 minutes teaching him how to work the gears while they had the bike suspended in a device to let him practice. The gentleman was patient and treated my son like an adult. This store is a gem. Cannot recommend enough. Kudos to the owner for hiring and training excellent employees. Great customer service will always have us coming back

Communication and customer-relation skills severely lacking, and an over-all bad attitude. He behaved as if it were a real chore for him to have to sell a custom-build bicycle worth over $2700. He was eager to charge the money for the sale but not willing to earn it.I took my business elsewhere and it worked out well.

Tosha Pearson-Royston: Still no bike!!! After visiting this store three times I've yet to be contacted about any of the 3 bikes they were supposed to pull from the warehouse and build. Men in the store are very knowledgeable and helpful, but the follow through is seriously lacking. It's been over 3 weeks now and I haven't received a call. Very disappointing.

Alex Armstrong: Terrible experience. I went in there to simply get new inner tubes and see if they would put them on. I was not informed that they would charge you $10 a wheel for "labor" so the total came out to a whopping $37.52! Not only was I blindsided but the owner was extremely creepy and weird when talking too. I would at all cost avoid this place. He knew all along what he was doing and decided to pull a fast one instead of simply telling me ahead of time. Any person can fill up a tire and install it.... I just don't own a bike pump but could've and should've gone to QT for free air. If you want passive aggressive arrogance this is Definitely your store. Ugh I feel cheated and disrespected. The attitude in there was so thick you need a mask to protect yourself from them. I was actually considering even buying a bike from these clowns too. But pennywise, dollar foolish on their behalf. Now you have been warned of their ways and I highly suggest going elsewhere for better service and deals.

the detail dude: They some how did the impossible and had the exact bike I was looking for being built back in summer arrival date was mid December I didn't hold my breath with how crazy bikes are right now but here we are dec 15th the day they hoped to deliver it to me and im in possession of my new giant! One star deducted for them being mask police..but no hard feelings i will recommend..
Luci Olewinski: I was in town for a race over Labor Day weekend when my right/rear shifter died. Despite it being a busy weekend, they quickly discovered the problem, found the last compatible shifter in the shop, and put it on that day. Usually this would be a many day wait for that service, but they went out of their way knowing I wanted to race later that day. I'm feeling cautious writing this review- it's not nice to advertise that a shop will magically fix things the same day, because of course they need time to do a job well and I don't want to encourage people to show up last minute expecting things to get fixed pronto. But I do want to express my gratitude at the service I got and how nice they were throughout the whole process.

Dennis Byrd: Walking from the parking garage to the pier, our daughter's wheelchair lost one small screw and a second had worked it's way loose. We stopped here and asked if they had Allen wrenches and the young man came out and tightened the screw for us. Great service!

James Fredeking: I went in with a large purchase in mind. I was waited on quickly and professionally. I tried what they had in the store but it wasn't what I was needing and asked if they could get what I was looking for. The salesman said the owner would call me after he did his research. After a week of not hearing back I called him but he was not available. I was again told he would call me which he never did so I made my purchase at a store that acted like they wanted my business.
andy brueck: The most knowledgeable and helpful shop in StL. The staff and owner went above and beyond to help me get exactly what I’m looking for. I’m not exactly well versed in the cycling industry but they made me feel at home. The shop is great as well. Small business at its best. Since the epidemic it’s been hard to find a shop with good inventory. Everyone seems low on bikes. The Bike Center seems to go the extra mile to get you what you want. 1 reviewer stated they didn’t want his business and left a bad review???? Come on....... it’s funny how that’s the only review that’s bad about this shop. Seems to be self explanatory about the reviewer. Shops are busy. Bikes are tough to get. No need to spread your negativity because you didn’t get your way. I highly recommend going here for all you cycling needs.

I will always highly recommend a local bike shop over big box stores, but Sunset Cyclery is especially great! Love the new location near Harbor Freight!

Tom Richard: This shop sold me my first decent bike a hybrid. I didn't know much, and I didn't tell them I rode in the sunset hills sprint tri. I was happy with the hybrid (and the once a year free service), but I noticed that people on road bikes were passing me like I was nothing. So, went back to Sunset Cyclery and decided on a Specialized rode bike in 2017. The result was a ten minute improvement in my triathlon time, and I won my age division. The service was incredible on the bike, and has been since. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've got nothing but positive things to say about these guys.
Scott Ring: Great selection but even better service. I always get friendly top notch service from Tim, Ed and the rest of the staff. Not only are they great to chat with, they are knowledgeable and give honest advice. I highly recommend them for a new bike or to repair or tune your existing one.

M Pautler: Sunset Cyclery is a great bike shop. Tim does a wonderful job with bike repairs, especially for electric bikes. It is hard to find knowledgeable people to repair electric bikes, but he has the talent and expertise. He goes to the extra effort to make sure your bike is running properly.
Ron Bizzle: They provided me with great service......very cordial.....couple new tires and a tube...in just a matter of minutes. (btw.....the bike was free....yes free....somebody put it out in the alley as trash and I just happen to be at the right place at the right time. Well worth the investment of new tires. :)
NATALIE BONE: Great customer service! Helped me with my knee pain problems that I’ve had for years when cycling. Custom fit my bike and helped me find just the right pair of cycling shoes. I’ve never experienced customer service at this level. They spent hours with me to make sure everything was just perfect.I’m enjoying cycling so much more now that I’m not miserable and in pain AND BONUS- I’ve been able to improve my average speed! I’ll be using Sunset Cyclery for all my cycling needs from now on.

I must say that Sunset has the best customer service, prices and staff in town. These guys are knowledgeable and very well skilled in this business. They have the fastest repair turn around time I have ever seen, 24-48 hours! Even though I ride Trek, they treat me as if I purchased my bike from them.

R: They always have exactly what i need. Came in today for a 9-speed shifter after my Altus took a dump on me. Picked up a MicroShifter set (only needed the right though) and was back riding an hour later. Went to another shop closer to my house who tried to sell me a used shifter that had a missing thumb pad. Just proves it's always worth the drive to Sunset no matter where in the area you live.
Bruce Miner: Ed and Evan went out of the way to help me. I am in town for the week on business and brought my Stumpjumper to ride while in town. After my first ride, I lost my shock bolt. I called them in the morning and they asked me to bring my bike in to see if they could help. 5 minutes and a new shock bolt later and I was ready to ride again. I really appreciate them taking care of an out of towner! Thanks guys!

mrmaverick59: This is the only place I go to get my bikes serviced. The staff are knowledgeable and are always ready to answer any questions I have. The repair times are the fastest around and have a wide selection of parts.
Chris Kost: The guys at sunset cycle are great. They have always listened and offered helpful suggestions. Their service department is great and they don’t try to sell you something you don’t need. I brought my bike in for a spring check up before riding season. I hadn’t ridden it for a couple of years. I was concerned about the tires and asked them to check them specifically. They checked everything and made sure the bike was in perfect order. They didn’t try to sell me new tires or anything.
