Dakota Raynes: The staff are always friendly, very knowledgeable, and want to help every rider find the gear that's best for them whether they're just starting out or century riders. They also have a wide variety in terms of stock and their upcharge is minimal. Free service for life on new bikes and reasonable service charges on used ones.This is my favorite bike shop in STL for the reasons listed above and because I went in looking for a specific type of bike, but they didn't have it. A few weeks later a guy brought in the type of bike I wanted and Urban Shark called me to come down and look at it. Then they sold it to me for less than half its retail value (so they sold it to me for the same amount of credit they gave the guy who traded it in). No other bike shop has done either of those things for me in 25 years of riding.

Jonnathan J Rodriguez: Nice experience, when there without appt and dropped off the bikes for a tune up, picked them up a few days later and took the for a ride around Forest park over the weekend. They feel great, appreciate the work they put on them! Totally recommended, might be back for some accessories. Go and check it out, they also sell and rent bikes, in case you have some friends and in town and want to show them the park.
Rishi Gattu: I thought this was a really honest bike shop. They did not try to upsell me anything, but helped me with what I needed. Both Eric and Matt were very helpful and nice. I will definitely be bringing my bikes here in the future.
Oliver Fend: I want to be fair to my local bike shop. This is the place I got within walking or biking distance after all. People here are friendly. When I had issues with my back cog on my fixie the mechanic made sure I went out the door with a functional bike that was safe to ride. When the time and care is put into my ride, it doesn't go unnoticed.I could complain about the prices, but I'm not the one who dominates the market in the CWE. The prices reflect the local economy which consists of the geared out dentist in a bright matching kit who rides for leisure.Where I have the biggest issue is that sometimes the priority is making a buck rather than honesty. I'm the last head in the area you should bust. I work as a bike messenger. I ride my bike in the city daily. When I come in for fresh tires I need durable lasting tires designed for STL streets. I can't be sold soft racing tires marketed to me as long lasting. Those tires lasted me a week. I understand wanting to help, but I wish it was a little more straight up. Situations like this break my confidence in this place. Big shark had tires for the same price designed for what I do. I could feel the difference on my thumb and index finger.I know more about bikes than the average Joe. It's my job to ride one. However I don't know everything, so my first inclination is to trust those who are around the parts all day.
Jezzabelle Arnold: Wow! Fixed my bike within a day, and when another part loosened I had it fixed in fifteen minutes! Paid less than I expected to, and on top of that not one bit of rudeness or condescension when I didn't know something! Almost perfect, only thing wrong with it is how hard it is to find from the street. It's in a grey building :)

I have had an unprecedented number of fixes required as I use my bike to commute and they've always helped me with a fast turnaround and incredibly reasonable pricing. I received a call about a week after I dropped off the bike and the person told me, I needed front and back brakes mind you I was just working on the bike so I know the front brakes were good. Next my rear wheel was bent LOL. With all the MYSTERY REPAIRS TOTAL WILL BE 165.00. I KINDLY WENT AND GOT THE PICKED UP THE BIKE. That same day I dropped off the bike at BICYCLES OF KIRKWOOD!!!!! I JUST PICKED THE BIKE UP AND MY BILL WAS A TOTAL OF 60.00 I WOULD UPLOAD THE RECEIPT IF POSSIBLE... Guess what he charged me for a BIKE TUNEUP!!!!! MIKES BIKE SHOP IS A RIPOFF!!!!!!

Sandra Barringer: I rented a PEDEGO bike to ride Grant’s Trail. Went to PEDEGO Electric Bikes St Louis and they made it so very easy. In and out in 10 minutes and on the trail. It was the bomb!!! Never been on an electric bike. You gotta try this! I started in first gear so I could feel the pedal resistance. It’s very easy to set and maintain as you ride. The throttle is to die for! Pump the power when you cross a road or start out to get going quickly. You can pedal as hard as you like. I started in first to get a workout. I rode 16 miles. I ended up using the fifth gear to go fast so I could go farther. Peddled all the way very hard. I only had an hour so I had to make the best of it. Oh man did that bike help me out!!! Gonna have to make a purchase! I have a giant at home that I dearly love but want to ride near my house. There are so many hills it’s a killer. I live in the Appalachian Mountains. This bike will go 75 miles!!! What?!? Go rent this bike and enjoy. Better yet just buy one!

Jonathan Grover: I visited Pedego St Louis that is conveniently located just off I-44 and next to Grant's Trail to get some warranty work on my 2021 City Commuter Thursday, received a call the next day that it was ready to roll!Repair was very prompt and correct, nagging problem resolved! I had additional adjustments but forgot to mention them to Bill. To my surprise, he caught & corrected the deficiencies that could have been easily overlooked and also provided recommendations to make my ride more comfortable. Bill and his wife are very knowledgeable and professional.They went above and beyond; I'm completely satisfied with the experience and will definitely be back.

Billy Wills: Top notch shop! I’ll be back to buy a bike! I needed a cassette after wearing mine smooth out while on a trip/race in the area. They had one left! They put it on my wheel with only like 30 mins to close and even adjusted my rear brake! They even made me and my buddy a mad cup of brew! Over the top impressed with their shop and who they were! After seeing so many shops depleted of bikes, parts, etc. somehow Trailhead has a good selection of bikes (maybe Specialized is just better equipped than Trek in this topsy turvy supply chain world?). Very friendly, very responsive, and they seem better managed with inventory than any shop I have been in since COVID began.

Bb's come in a lot of styles and sizes for some reason and I happen to have the older cup/ cone square taper setup. Matt happily answered any and all of my questions. Jeffrey Mace: Not impressed. Bought a brand new Specialized Roubaix Comp Shimano Di2 from them. Bike was presented to me missing 1) the pedals I'd paid for and asked them to put on and 2) the equipment to charge the battery. I asked to be fitted (which honestly should have come complimentary at pickup) and was told to email the service manager. I did. Been 5 days, no reply. Take your business elsewhere. I could have gotten the bike from Specialized website. I've also transitioned all my service work to another local bike shop. Disappointed customer. Can't recommend.
cufta05: Called this place about a part that I need for my bike. They told me that they HAVE it in stock and the rapier will take 12 days. I brought my bike and waited around 30 min to receive the order details (first red flag).When I came to pick up my bike after 18 days, I was told that the part they said they had it in stock, that they did not actually have it. Furthermore, they had to order the part from the manufacturer but the part is on backorder and they do not know when the part will arrive.When asked how it is that you do not have that part in stock, and when I was told over the phone that you do have the part in stock, they replied that "they were sorry".
Mark Livingston: I was a customer of Mesa Cycles prior to moving to Phoenix 7 years ago. I was having a bad day pretty much all around and on top of it forgot a skewer in Phoenix for my front wheel of the bike I brought to town. Swung by looking for some help and they took care of me like they were still my home LBS and knew me well. They took my wheel inside, fit it with a skewer all with no charge and a smile. Thank you Trailhead Mesa!

I have bought a number of bikes at Trailhead Bicycles and appreciate the high touch but low pressure service. Great repair folks and awesome staff altogether. Fantasic bike exchange program for kids bikes! I can't say enough good things about this shop and don't plan to buy a bike elsewhere.
Fawzi Hamdallah: Staff are very nice and friendly. Service time is great. They don’t take too long compared with other companies. However, the service quality wasn’t great. I had my handlebar tape replaced and it came out loose after 30 min of riding. I took it back and they fixed it under warranty. Same thing happened again. So now I’m taking it elsewhere. It was poor quality installation. I appreciate the great customer service. I hope for better service quality.

T: I bought my hardtail and just recently my full suspension specialized mountain bike. They have been so accommodating. My bike needed maintenance during shutdowns and they gave me a demo bike to ride while the bike was finished. I ended up buying the demo bike and they set it up for me perfectly. They have the best customer service and I recommend stopping I'm for your bike needs.

I used to race on the Schwinn Homegrown mountain bike team with him so I have first hand knowledge of his experience in the racing and biking industry. I also worked with him at a bike shop. He is the guy you can go to for anything: race advice, mechanical advice, and sales advice. That’s my kinda guy. This is the spot for bikes.

Christina Stephens: I asked the staff here if they could give me some old bike tires they were otherwise throwing away to use to make traction strips for my son’s power wheels. They told me they would save some and the next day I came back and they had some tires for me for free. Yay recycling!
michael nerl: The work I've gotten there has always come out correct. Recently this has been a chain and tires over about a year. Their selection is better now that things are getting back to 'normal'. Last trip I had was somewhat obnoxious as the younger person at the register kept trying to upsell me on $400+ worth of stuff when I needed/came in for far less than that. However I did ultimately get what I was looking for and I have been satisfied with the quality.
Mike Davis: I recently moved from Boston to St Louis in March and was looking for a new bicycle repair shop for my bike. The previous shop I attended really took care of my prize possession and I had high hopes based on reviews this place would do the same.My bike went in for about a week of overdue service and after it came back, I did not recognize it! They did a phenomenal job and you can really see the attention to detail required to get this unit back to near new again.South Side, thanks for you help.
