Jaron Black: I'm upgrading my review to a five star rating in retrospect. The main thing I would like to highlight is how the cashier was very helpful at answering my questions about whether I could order take-out and how the starter options fit my dietary needs. I didn't need to wait very long for my order to be ready (I only ordered one appetizer, so it only took five minutes) and the food was incredible. I am hoping to eat here again sometime in the future.

Jacob Brinker: I ordered the Chicken Katsu Ramen and the Spam Musubi. The spam was pretty good but the ramen was not. The broth was quite bland and the chicken was dry and kind of thick for katsu. It did not seem particularly fresh as the order was brought out to me within about 5 minutes.The inside of the restaurant was of dimly lit and smelled very fishy. Not a super pleasant place to dine in.Not worth the money as far as ramen goes. There are much better options in the same price range.

Russell Lee: What a surprise find! Amazing food. Had the karaage, black garlic tonkotsu and takoyaki. Everything came out hot and delicious. A place that I'll definitely revisit.Also surprised to find out the chef is Malaysian! Trying the curry laksa next time for sure.

E: Ordered the Calamari, Signature Ramen, and the Black Garlic Ramen. The ramen was light but flavorful. The pork on top of the ramen was extremely soft and the egg was really well done. Highly recommend the calamari, was fresh out the frier and was light and soft.

Well, this should be their slogan, “it costs more for a reason … it’s better!!” The broth, noodles, Chasu, egg - all absolutely amazing! Best ramen I’ve had since Japan and Vegas (shout out to Sora Ramen). Definitely coming back!!

Dan Slattery: The Nami Signature Tonkatsu ramen is highly recommended!! Super savory broth and the pork is the perfect balance of soft and crispy. Also, you have to try the bao buns. Pork or shrimp, you can't go wrong with either. I don't live anywhere near this restaurant, but I will DEFINITELY come back!

Megan Barron: The service was so poor we didn’t even get to the food. Showed up at 2:30 pm to a sign that said “Please Wait to be Seated.” We were yelled at from the counter and waved on to a table, even though there were multiple workers and few patrons at the time. We sat down and then a waitress came over at 2:32 to say they closed in 10 minutes and could do takeout, but the kitchen was already closed (not really sure how that would work??). We questioned their closing time since we were aware that they closed at 3:00 pm, but were still told that they close in 10 minutes. We’ve both worked in the restaurant industry and have never worked at a place that stopped offering food before they were actually closed (outside of a bar). Definitely won’t return for that service.

Kevin Hacker (Khacker): This was the first time I dined here. We celebrated a late Mother's Day dinner since our son was out of the country. The food was very delicious and not fishy as I first thought it would be. The server was great, very professional, and courteous. We had the salmon avocado roll, Naruto roll, spider roll, and the Yoshi roll. All fantastic and very filling. The only issue I had was remembering how to use chopsticks correctly. A little out of practice. We had a party of 6 that night and just to let you know they automatically add 18% for a party of six. It was fair and you might want to go above the recommendation. It is worth it.

Ramen broth should be salty (its meant to flavor noodles and not sipped like a soup by itself. (Katsukare) Curry was tasty but could also use a bit more salt. Last time I was here salt content was perfect, not sure if a mistake was made on this visit or there was a recipe change. Servers were rockstars.

Rich Cline: Excellent Katsu and Miso. Great service! The food is very fresh. The prices are reasonable compared with today's restaurant prices. Clean place. You can park right in front off of Forest Park Parkway. I didn't try the sushi or the ramen here yet. I highly recommend if you enjoy Japanese cuisine, this is one of the best.

Midtown Sushi & Ramen is a must try for anyone who loves authentic ramen dishes or good sushi, and while it’s not in the name, the Donburi bowls are some of the best in town.I recommend the Hakata Ramen if you’re a fan of smoked meats! The pork belly really adds great smoky and fatty notes to the noodles.If pork isn’t your thing then the Spicy Midtown Ramen gives you the same base as the Hakata, but swaps the pork with shrimp and smoky flavor with a spicy broth!Which one is better is a toss up and is just one more reason to come back for a second visit.

Laura Calhoun: おいしかった! This place is simply amazing. Ever since moving to STL from Japan a few months ago, I’ve been so disappointed in the “ramen” joints people have been recommending. But we stumbled upon this one and couldn’t be happier! Be prepared to wait 45 min in line but it is so worth it if you’re homesick for some authentic ramen! Can’t wait to try the tantanmen next time. Oh and they have rice vinegar if you ask for it. Maybe someday down the road they will add gyoza to the menu, and it will be heaven✌️

Single person, checked in and waited for 14 minutes.Ordered house cucumber and pork shoyu ramen.House cucumber: I liked the sweet and sour taste of rice vinegar dressed vs miso dressed the ones that are in orange colored sauce.Main course: pork shoyu, as soon as it was kept in my table. I felt the aroma is very strong. Once I started eating it I was comfortable. I could feel the freshness of the noodles and meat as well. If you are very hungry you will complete the bowl otherwise take a to go container.Drinks: They have few beers too.Place: The restaurant is very small. If you ever watched lot of food videos. Ramen places in Japan are really small and I feel like the owner kept that in mind while designing it.Parking: Roughly 20+ parkings and I think you can park roadside.Overall nice experience and I would go again.

mike ody: I would agree that walking into this establishment the 20% tip is pretty bad. You pay first and then get seated and this takes a longer time when it's cold and there are people waiting in line. The only thing that was good was the filter water in these large glass bottles. The broth was super salty making me drink so much water that I was full from it. Service well there is not much of any since you already paid and got charge and just get up and walk out the door. We have been eating a lot of noodles for almost 30+ years and this was one of the worst experience we have had in a long time. We were very disappointed.

Strike four.At this point, I'm ready to go because the energy from this bartender is off-putting. To lighten the mood as we began packing, leaving, and paying. I stated that the drink was delicious. I needed a little more alcohol. Humor goes a long way. Right?The woman who is at the bar decides to comment, stating. "That's my boyfriend. I saw him make the drink, and how dare you beg for money?"Ok, now I have a rude dry bartender and his weird delusional girlfriend in cahoots with each other—a bad combination—strike 300.I wanted so badly to give this place four stars. But customer service goes a long way. Why would you put a dry, negative person in the front at the bar? They are the face of your establishment.Despite my negative review, I'm sure this is not his first time being rude to customers and staff or having his girlfriend talk irrationally to customers and running them off.Food is cool. The dude behind the bar and his girlfriend have to go. Bad for business.

Drinking water was served from the same faucet used for cleaning cups (unsanitary).Ramen noodles were undercooked. Ramen was lacking more elements typically found in a ramen (no egg for a $15 ramen?).Sushi was not above any other sushi place, especially for the price. Underwhelming experience for $100 bill.No prices on the menu? (unless you are selling seafood, please add prices).Would not recommend for unsanitary practices and average quality for price. This is coming from someone who likes to patronize local restaurants. Very dissappointing.

I came in today to give it another shot, but there are no prices on the menu, so I left without ordering. I didn’t want to bother inquiring about every item I was potentially interested in. It also just feels sketchy. Do they change their prices based on how you look? The day of the week? Who knows. It was also very dark and not very inviting inside.

Erin Bacher: Great atmosphere. We liked that it was a bit more intimate rather than completely wide open. Scooter was a great waiter and provided fantastic service. We ordered a couple of rolls as well as hot sake. We found that, compared to some other places, the options for specialty rolls lacked a little as well as they were a bit bland. However, we'd would definitely visit again and try other items on the menu.

Melissa Cubing: The food was excellent. However service was a bit slower than I would have liked, and there were no prices on the menu. I had to look online, but they seemed not to be quite accurate.
