Nobu's: what do users think?

Tyler Wildermuth: This restaurant used to exist in the same location as Nobu's Japanese Restaurant, and any review from before 2022 is in reference to a different place and concept, although run by the same Chef Nobu. Nobu's, in its current state, is an incredibly intimate omakase dining experience with superb flavor combinations and rare Japanese ingredients served in a space made to feel like Chef Nobu's private home. It's airy and elegant, and there are roughly 8 omakase bar seats with around 10 more at tables for larger groups. Reservations are likely required, although the host expressed they would be looking into how to deliver a more casual experience in 2023. Well worth the fine-dining cost for a special occasion.Dietary restrictions: Respected a peanut allergy in our group.
Charlotte Ealick: We enjoyed an amazing dinner. The sushi was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and always gracious.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Joanna Puterbaugh: A little late in writing a review but here we are. I have been eating at Nobu's since 2007 and my husband has been dining there even longer. We were so sad when the original location was closed and looked forward to his new venture. It seemed like the time would never come. Then an update, with a soft opening! We booked almost immediately. To say that Nobu's has changed would be an understatement. It's almost like Nobu's has grown as a restaurant as we have as people. The interior design is beautiful and simple. The service was top notch. The food was phenomenal. Nobu found out that my husband's favorite item from the original restaurant was the spicy tuna, so he made one just for him. Nobu's son (I can't remember his name right now) was a great host and we had a nice chat with him. Nobu's is more upscale now so the price is also more upscale but totally worth it for a enjoyable evening out.
Bobby Shah: Mind blown and unbelievable. Food was simple, delicate, curated and well thought out. It all came from a place of love, warmth and care for the experience. One of a kind in St Louis and can’t wait toGo back.
Dina Hyde: We thoroughly enjoyed the “omikase” tasting menu. We are so glad Nobu’s is back in a smaller, more focused and intimate setting. Everything is done with great intention from the restaurant design to the dishes and service and of course the food. It was outstanding on every level. As serious “foodies” we can say with confidence this was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. We look forward to coming back!
Dan Hahn: Absolutely magnificent food. You never run out of new things to try and everything tastes great.
Courtney DesMarais: Welcome to Nobu's- may your mind and palate be transformed into a world of absolute harmony.I am in absolute awe of this place. I LOVE that Nobu works in synchronicity with his family (wife and son) to bring traditional Japanese cuisine to STL.The minimalist and clean of the space design allows for all of the focus to be on the service, the dishes, the utensils/ dishware, and of course the ingredients themselves.I have had two different tasting course experiences here. Both of which are transformative. The overall understanding and balance of the senses and tasting notes is remarkable. Some dishes warm, some cool, some are digestive, some are crisp and all are nourishing. Nobu's understanding of texture, umami, sweet, sour, salty, pungent, and bitter is heavily highlighted throughout the tasting menu.Local ingredients are utilized when possible and even items like Sake are distinctly picked from Nobu's hometown. The thought and intention is evident from beginning to end.The price point may be high for some but even though the dishes are served as chef tasting potions, I have never once left hungry. This is because of the aforementioned balancing act that allows for a completely satisfied palate and stomach. If you go in for an à la carte meal then be sure to try anything in the miso mustard sauce and the chawanmushi.Thank you for having us Nobu staff and family!Vegetarian options: Make a request prior to reservations.Parking: On street or side parking lot options available in The Loop.
Alika McGuire: Went to their new location off of Delmar. How lucky are we to have such a place serving authentic Japanese sushi, Omakase style from real experts. Not to mention how great it was to speak to the chefs as he taught us about the food they made.Highly recommend. Just be sure to make your reservations before going!
tburr: This was one of the most amazing, intimate, and well orchestrated dining experiences I have ever had. Chef Nobu and his family welcome you as if you are old friends dining in their home. Every little detail is executed with great care and precision to provide the best sushi experience you can get any where close to St. Louis. We are grateful for this opportunity to enjoy a true master in his own element and cannot wait to return. You can tell that providing this experience is what makes Chef Nobu happy! Thank you!!
Jenny Lee: Cozy and modern restaurant. We had their set menu dinner and sat at a table. We were the only table at the time but dinner picked up at the bar. The entire staff consisted of 4 people - the family; they were Japanese polite. All sushi was very fresh and I usually don’t eat raw fish. Cooked entrees were balanced in flavor. House made matcha dessert and red bean is a must!
Minh Nguyen: One of the best experience we have ever had! The wine and sake pairing was perfect with our course. Nothing but highest compliments!
jueun moon: It was best dinner I ever had! It was my 31st bday and can’t ask for anything better than this restaurant. Please please go try. Everyone was really nice and professional.
Joshua Lillis: High quality omakaze dining experience where you let the chef decide what dishes are best served. The Kidera family has always been awesome and their new restaurant raises the bar so high. Each dish is an incredible experience, made even better as they take the time to explain its origins, ingredients, and how each is prepared. This is, hands down, the finest meal I have ever experienced. We will definitely do this again.
jeff cc: My Lord, I have never left a Google review before but I cannot neglect to express how absolutely earth-shattering this experience was. Not only is it so warm and intimate that it literally feels like a family dinner, but the food itself I can only possibly compare to the place my rich aunt took me to in Los Angeles. And it exceeds that by miles. The creativity, the attention to detail, the atmosphere; everything has been done flawlessly. In a strange way, it also is a celebration of the city itself; what they’ve managed to accomplish here could not be effectively or sustainably replicated in Chicago, New York, or any larger city. It wouldn’t be nearly as calming and personalized. I’m not even particularly attached to living in St. Louis, but truly, if I ever left, this is one place I would dearly miss.
Fred Moore: Amazing - Food, Service, Atmosphere. All perfect!!
Eugene Leong: Got there and was told they only take reservations today. Plenty of empty tables and there is no notice anywhere that says reservations was needed.
Austin: Started off 2023 with a Japanese flair.Truly remarkable dishes and a wonderful family that serves you. You feel at home. Highly recommend to anyone wanting high class sushi paired with high class service.Dietary restrictions: Will accommodate shellfish allergies.
