Weaving Department Myers House: what do users think?
Kate B.: So sad they are closing at the end of 2022. Get your discounted yarn while it lasts! Will miss this place which was a safe refuge for me in previous years of turmoil.
Joni Orwick: Very nice shop. Great selection of yarn!
Terry Ulmer: Wonderful assortment of yarn and essentials.
Amy Johnson: Nice variety of yarn! Found some beauties.
Sarah Hobson: Such a warm wonderful shop chock full of great yarns, patterns and knitting/crochet needles. Mary provides lessons and is advanced in every kind of pattern and is helping me reorient to knitting a complex sweater. A little time with her and I am back on track for understanding the gist of it and the next big section of this pattern. I am so grateful! Also, just look for the little yellow house on the hill on Dunn Road. My GPS from North Hanley off of 170 N told to turn right but it was a left turn up the hill and into a driveway just before the yellow house and around back to park. Enjoy!
Kurt Kaufman: Very helpful friendly staff. Nice selection of yarns. This is the place to go for yarn, knitting needles and weaving supplies in the St Louis area.
Sam “Sammy” Bell: I love coming here everytime I visit town. This shop is so cozy and cute. I just want to grab a chair by the window with some tea and knit the whole store 😍.
Catherine Oldt: Just stopped by today for a birthday gift and it's a really sweet shop. The employee there was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out some very soft alpaca yarn. Just note that right now because of covid they are only allowing people in with appointments. I did not know that and still came by but thankfully they had someone cancel on them and could accommodate me. The employee said to make an appointment just call up. Also if you get a little confused like I was, the entrance of the store is the front porch that faces the highway
Shana Lawson: Beautiful, independently owned yarn store in St. Louis.
Jordan Werner: Knowledgeable staff, and more high quality yarn than I would know what do do with. This is the best place to get interchangeable knitting needles! Spinning supplies are limited but high quality for reasonable prices. Highly recommend
Susan Oris: Lots of lovely yarns. Helpful and friendly staff. Weaving and spinning supplies too.
Terry Turner: Beautiful yarn, great people. Come see us soon. Terry Turner
Gina Schrock: This place says it’s open... it’s not open and looks abandoned... all social media states it‘a open..... hope everything is ok... traveling from Chicago on my journey to support local yarn stores let me know when you reopen!!
Kate Sander: Classes, great yarn and friendly folks.
Crystal R: This shop is a treasure with friendly people and a wide variety of yarn. They have knitting, weaving and crochet materials. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing through and if this is your LYS, you are fortunate.
Mary Leffler: Awesome yarn ! So yummyLove the peeps there🐾
Maraschino ThirtyEight: Your friendly neighborhood yarn store!
Nicole Shanks: Awesome building and awesome yarn selection!
Leslie Gerber: Exceptional staff and beautiful yarns. So grateful.
Christy G.: So much yarn! So many goodies! And the staff are super friendly. I made my first visit during a yarn crawl and really enjoyed it. It's a bit of a drive from my south county home, but I will certainly be back again!
Patricia Beidle: Very nice and knowledgeable people. Beautiful yarn.

Heyde Sewing Machine Co.: what do users think?
Tom Bauer: Great experience and I am just starting looking for a new machine
Lynda Lorenz: I finally did it! I finally stopped at the store and I love it. I live over an hour away and have wanted to stop by here for quite some time. We do not have stores like this in my area, so it was definitely and great connection. The sales rep I spoke with was most helpful and friendly; she showed me around, showed me patterns, told me about classes and answered my questions. I look forward to getting to know her and to taking some future classes. Thank you for a terrific first experience, surely not to be my last.
Andrea R.: I have been a customer of heyde sewing for over 10 years. Every machine I have bought has come from them. I have always been beyond pleased with their service. The ladies at the front are the sweetest ever always smiling and ready to answer any of my questions. I highly recommend heyde sewing.
Jeanne Watkins: Took my machine into the shop for embroidery repair. It was there a month. Called me to say it was fixed. I picked it up. It WAS NOT REPAIRED!!!Took it back!! It has been there 6 MONTHS!!! They said the feed dogs weren’t working—-I didn’t take it in for that!!! That part was working fine!!NO COMMUNICATION from them!!!I’ve called and visited several times! Nope still waiting on the part!! This week I went in again, technician admitted he’d forgotten about it. Part was in he said he’d call me by the end of the week!Well, I got an email that it was ready!!! An email—not even the curtesy to call me after 6 months!!!!I purchased this machine from them several years ago but I will never go back!!When I pickup my machine will be the LAST time I walk into that store!! The owner is arrogant. This is no way to run a business !! They big but there are much nicer people to deal with other places!! BOO to Hejde!!!
Maureen Walsh: I bought my first sewing machine, a Riccar, over 40 years from Mr. Heyde at the first Heyde sewing machine store on South Lindbergh.I used that machine for years until I bought a Brother sewing-embroidery machine from Heyde. I now live in Iowa but I still use that machine and have had it serviced at the "new" store and at 30 years old it still sews beautifully. I just bought an old Brother for my granddaughter and will be bringing it in for cleaning and servicing so that she can begin a love of sewing like I do.
Vickie Clubb: I have found it a bit difficult to get waited on even when there are no other customers. You have to ask for assistance. They have a beautiful fabric selection but not nearly enough quilts displayed. They seem to only care about the embroidery customers ,and forget there is an entire market that does not do embroidery quilts, but other types of quilting. I would love to see more of those quilts displayed. I would like to stress that I love their fabric selection. But I’m not always happy with the experience.
Dave 'Axel': This place has a very well known reputation on the local sewing Discord but I was desperate. Lesson learned; it's a shame because you want to support a small business, especially a Bernina dealer, but, my goodness, they act like you ran over their dog! I get that bad reviews are upsetting and it's hard not to take personally, but are addressing the issue people are raising? I
Jim-Karen Davis: Heyde sewing machine Co. Has an excellent product selection and friendly, helpful staff and classes.
mary wines: This is one of the finest shops around. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great people, great selection and a great place to learn. Love Heyde Sewing. You get treated like family not another sale.
Teri Bloom: Love this store, great customer service and always great product. Attended an event this year and several classes in the past few. Information for the price is invaluable. Thank you Karen and crew for another great year.
Carol Winkler: I have learned so much in the past five years from going to Heyde for machine repair, for classes, for monthly Hot Topics sharing, for advice with my new machines, and for friendly encouragement from customers and staff.
stephanie stemmler: Always friendly; wide selection of fabrics and great customer service!
Juanita Gockel: Walked and was looking at the sewing machines. There was not pressure just very supportive and showed us all the cool features. Thank you so much!
Pattie Canter: As soon as I walked in the store, Renee greeted me and asked what she could help me with. Extremely friendly and helpful the entire time I was there. At least 30 minutes from my home but well worth the trip. Thanks Renee!
Molly Adler: Excellent service! Impressed with their personal attention to my sewing machine repair.
Longing for the harpazô moment!: When I see the reviews, I'm thinking : there are many more stores around St Louis that are really nice so why would I go to this store since reviews say they are rude?
Jo Jo: Tried to support a local business and avoid amazon but was made to feel so unwelcome, it would have been better to give Bezos my dollars. When I walked in, 3 employees stood chatting for several minutes before acknowledging me. I must have deeply upset the tall one, as a paying customer interrupting her coffee clatch, because when I asked 'do you carry a sewing machine cleaning kit?" she squaked "What!? there's no such thing!" Yes, ma'am there is. Your store not carrying does not mean such a thing does not exist. I said, 'um yes, they do, i was hoping you had one." and she replied 'you get those with your machine" rolled her eyes and waved her hand, dismissing me. Buckle up, you're not gonna believe this: people buy second hand machines or (like me) restore older ones to donate to job training programs and the machine doesnt have the original kit. Wild huh? One lady showed me where the brush, as in the one brush they carry, was and then tried explaining to me how it was used because I guess Im so stupid despite sewing for over a decade I dont know how a brush is used to clean a machine. Same for the oil, assuming I have no idea what or how its used. I Just wanted her to leave me alone so I stated I was going to get my universal needles then leave and she followed me over to the Schmetz display and began talking about what type i need. Ma'am. I did not ask. I know exactly what gauge I need. Eventually, she got the hint and left me alone but it was just so unpleasant being treated like a nuisance spending my money at the store and then talked down to like i was some kid who has never sewed in my life. Pam, the lovely lady who rang up my purchases, couldnt have been nicer or more pleasant. Really feel like she tried to be helpful. The rest can go whiz up a rope. Will still try to spend with a local business but not this one.
Paula Bachelder: Great selection of sewing, quilting, and embroidery machines. Great fabrics and notions. Awesome staff!
Sara Gibson: Great group of staff! Lots of classes offered. Great selection of fabric for your sewing and quilting needs. Highly recommend you stop by and check things out.
Bridget O'Shea: Great selection of sewing supplies and machines. Staff members are very helpful and outgoing.
Anne Simpson-Mills: Great selection of fabric. Store very nicely laid out.
