The Book House: what do users think?
Jim Peterson: This place is very nice! I've been here many many times and I love losing myself in there. Definitely worth visiting for sure.
Magic Michael Myers: I don't understand how this place is surviving. Y'all have used books priced as new. Every single book I looked at was cover price. Why on earth someone would shop here and not go online or Walmart even is beyond me. This is exactly why mom & pop stores fail. You can't over charge to simply stay in business. You're ripping people off just bc it's more convenient than waiting on a book in the mail.
Lori A: Great independent bookstore! You can find some amazing old books & everything new as well. Worth a stop!
P M: Great place! Very cozy, wonderful selection :)
William Krings: They have everything. Prices are good. The cats are nice.
Nichole Sullivan: This is possibly one of the best book stores I've ever been to, and that's saying something because I've been to a lot. What strikes me most about this store is how much it has, but how easy it is to find stuff. The vibe is fun, the layout is fun, the selection is amazing. The sci-fic section is huge. A must visit.PS there is a bonus store cat!
Spencer Hanning: Always a treat
Kelsey Schultz: The Book House is possibly the greatest bookstore I've been to in St. Louis. With the space that they have, they've crammed the most books per square foot I've ever seen. The shelves are full, so make countless stacks on the floor! Why not? Though I did trip a few times when browsing. Despite the over-full space, staff has maintained a very orderly setup. The Book House offers new and used books of every genre as well as collector's editions and very old volumes. There's comfortable seating throughout, rolling ladders that customers can use, and a bright children's section. On the wall leading downstairs are several author autographs after they presented or signed books for an event. I'm eager to go back and continue exploring.
BreakingRigsby Stl: Loved this place. It looks the way a book store should look. Like if the library of congress fit inside a one bedroom apartment. Wall to wall books. So many authors and subjects that i felt i was among old friends. Great place
Jessey DeVaney: Support local small businesses! I don't often purchase books these days but this place always has what I need and if they don't they are willing to get them for me!
Emily: Great selection of books! I could spend hours browsing the titles. Very reasonable prices for the St. Louis area
David L. Gill: Book buyer's dream! Great selection and friendly staff.
Simon: I bought a 1st edition cookbook advertised on their website. Took them a week to ship, and then they sent me a 2nd edition. Their only response was to return it at my cost. That ain't the cowboy way.
Matthew Weld: Cool vibe, and they certainly have a lot of books! The new titles are mixed in with the used books. I didn't find any good deals, and they didn't have the breadth of offerings in the Fantasy/SciFi section I was expecting with so many books due, I think, so repeats of many titles. I'm always on the lookout for independent bookstores, and will definitely be back to support them.
Tim Sisemore: Great new and used bookshop. Nice vibe
Danielle Zavradinos: If they don’t have it they’ll get it. Helpful staff, so many books!!
Amanda C.: Books and CATs! Doesn't get any better than that. Terrific selection of books as well.
albert ponciroli: Great independent book store. You want it, they most likely have it. New or used. Support the small guys so we have them in the future.
Grace Lawrence: I love a used book store and want to love this place. I've found it to be somewhat overpriced for used books, but love the atmosphere. However, I've learned they don't pay or give store credit for donated books. Yet they often charge near or full price. It doesn't feel ethical to take books for free and charge so much.
Shari Whay, St. Louis Realtor: I have always wanted to stop in here. Well today I was in Maplewood and I had time to stop in. Wow! There are soooo many books! I found it to be pretty well organized and was able to find the categories I was looking for. I have always loved independent bookstores and this one has new books, collectibles and tons of used books. The cookbook section was my favorite!
Nichole K: Good selection and neat vibes. My only negative would be about the giant stacks of books on the floor. Makes the space tighter which is mostly fine but it also makes me feel like I'm missing out on some of their selections. A book three stacks in and towards the bottom will never be seen.

Washington University Campus Store: what do users think?
Mehriban Ahmadova: I adore this place
Gary Gable: Terrible online ordering technology. Does not accept credit cards that every other online vendor accepts from me. Automated message says, "We were unable to verify your Visa payment. Please ensure your card information and billing address are entered correctly. If you keep seeing this error, please contact your card provider." I've tried to revise and use different credit cards, etc., all to no avail. A call to the bookstore did not help. Still can't place my order, and my card provider says the problem isn't on their end. Result is that Bookstore loses revenue and alumni and friends can't use the store. All around a lose-lose scenario.
Nikki Lynn Konert: Such a beautiful campus. My son is attending college prep classes here and their staff are just incredible. I hope he decides to study here after college. The university campus book shop is filled with every essential thing they could need being away from home and then some! The track and field are just gorgeous. The cafeteria is just beyond amazing!
Tim Kraan: pretty great
Tyler Uebel (Oshiznit): If you're in need of a new computer as a student or visiting campus and want a souvenir they have it. It's one of the biggest school stores I've been in and everyone is super friendly.
J R: Overpriced supplies can’t even return books in perfect condition
K. C.: Great
jin Hu: 很好的书和纪念品可以选择。
Iesha King: I am an alum and a former employee and I am always able to find what I need at the Wash U campus store. The selections are great and the staff are always more than helpful and courteous!!!
Tequella Jones: Great play at this venue. BLACK REP entertainment
Darrel Comer: I'm not a student or an employee just a vendor but it is a beautiful campus
Yixin Song: Reasonable price for school spirit stuff
Santa Claus: Without consideration of his unhelpfulness, the staff member at the tech desk with glasses and grayish hair lacks customer support skills. Rather than being polite, he simply gives condescending responses. To top it off, he proceeds to publicly complain on call about Washington University students' irresponsibility.
Misa Mirzaee: I like the store, there are everything you need for school. Sometimes the line for check out is so long.
Jean M: Helpful staff, only wish the A/C was stronger and prices weren't so steep especially for required textbooks.
Wyatt Williams: I had a late book rental which I couldn't return in time for the deadline because of COVID. I agreed for them to charge my card on file but apparently the payment did not go through. Which I did not hear about until they had a DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY contact me after I had graduated. One year after the payment apparently failed. I had to pay $150+ on top of the late rental services to the collection agency to protect my credit. Please for my sake, go elsewhere for your books.
Betsy Lee: When trying to pick up a prepaid iPad we were staying along for half an hour before being told that the only person capable of giving us an ipad, which, let me emphasize, we had already bought, was unavailable for the rest of the afternoon and that we should leave.
Aleksandra Degtereva: They have good choice of books: different genres, children literature, guides, giftable books, etc. But if you need textbooks, I would recommend to check online stores first.
Sonja Nguyen: Pretty big store and good selection.
Whynter Morgan: It's expensive, but it has most things you'd need from a campus bookstore. It has nice souvenirs though!
Brian Gordon: I miss the old bookstore. This one has a fraction the old store had. I only go here if I need a soda.
