Booksource: what do users think?
Xavier Mitchell: I worked at the Hazelwood warehouse two years and it was that worst experience I've ever had. Management was unbelievably terrible. Take caution when applying there
Sharon Cocos: I have never worked with a company who values their employee's growth and their continued education like Booksource. Their continued education classes are actually taught by the CEO himself!! They have been awarded Top Work Places and now I see why.
Nicole Robertson: This is such an awesome company to work with! They have an incredible staff that is caring and truly values each other. I would highly recommend anyone to work with Booksource or benefit from their services if given the opportunity.
Md Humayun Kabir: Larger map hereBookSource offers a first rate distribution/order-fulfilment service to a wide range of publishers. Sophisticated technology offers e-commerce, direct mail, UK and export trade and extensive reporting facilities.

Left Bank Books: what do users think?
Bonita Newby: It's cool.
Peter Reed: Great selection the staff picks are thoughtful and nice events
Benjamin Reha: We came to this bookstore while visiting. It’s a cool space and the two ladies behind the counter were very helpful and friendly. We got two good books and they recommended some cool stickers. If you have time and are I’m this area of town, definitely make it a point to check this spot out.
Daphne Katranides: Fabulous bookstore, helpful staff, and bargains in the basement. Hard to walk out with more than you came for.
Alexandra Martin: Very lovely library! A lots of books, I'm sure that you will find what you want read 📚 :)
Sara Davis: Left Bank Books is a very classic book store. Nooks and crannies hold lots of popular titles and a basement space has used and new books on the shelves. There is a small but varied gift selection. Everyone who works there are extremely helpful, knowledgeable book sellers. It’s the place to go for a good browse.
Michaela Kuba: Employees are always super kind and helpful
Tammy Lambert: We've been wanting to come to this bookstore for several years. Helpful staff - made several recommendations for local authors. Book selection is extensive for such a small space.
Tationa Trice: I love it. Nothing like going to a book store and being surrounded by books. They have great selections and it nice when I can go in and choose a book I would probably never read and give it a try.
Jed and Ann Brown: A more appropriate name for this bookstore would be "adorable agitprop." Or "communism with a cute cat."
Teresa Wise: Great independent book store in St. Louis. They have a knowledgeable staff and fabulous selection. Special orders are no problem. Great author special events too. I have been coming here for years and love their dedication to literacy.
Johnathon Rose-Lyon: If I'm ever looking for a specific book, this is invariably my first and only stop. If they don't have it, I order it from here. If I see a book I like at a big book chain, I take a picture of it, then come here to buy it. Because some of the coolest, most thoughtful people I've ever met in retail work here, and, without them, the CWE would be a fraction as great. They're the heart of the neighborhood. Do anything and everything you can to keep that heart beating ❤️
Tyler Anderson: Friendly staff and a great selection. Most of the lesser-star reviews are from those upset about their mask policy and the fact that they offer a large selection of LGBTQ+ material -- I appreciate that safety and inclusivity are at the heart of Left Bank.
Lauren Stiffler: One of my favorite bookstores. They have a great selection and very friendly staff. It’s a very welcoming space. I’ve found a ton of great deals on their used books in the basement as well!
Marie M: I visited the shop when I was in St. Louis on a work trip recently, and I love it. They had recently published hardcover used books at great prices. There’s also a great selection of new books in a variety of genres. While in the store, I think I spent about 5 minutes mentally trying to rearrange my suitcase so that I could bring more books home with me. I definitely recommend Left Bank Books and would love to visit again any time I’m in St. Louis.
Erin Hazelip: I love this bookstore! So many different genres of books to choose from!
francine harris: I really miss Left Bank books now that I don’t live in the Lou anymore. But even from afar they are a great part of the literary community I depend on. I also appreciate them maintaining their mask policy, making it a little safer for everyone.
Susan Talve: A true gem in St Louis and beyond
Teri Brickey: The best of independent bookstores! I often go in to browse the staff picks and find something new. Any book I want is either there or easily ordered. The staff are the true gem though - kind, helpful, and knowledgeable - they’re the best!
Amy Struckhoff: Legendary store! The employees never fail to impress with their endless knowledge. I’ve loved this place since I was a child.
Sandy Brown: An intellectually vacuous, living parable of the axiom, "Go woke, go broke." So many books, so little substance, so much agitprop.

The Book House: what do users think?
Linda Schwieger: Stopped in today for the first time... SO MANY BOOKS!! Could spend hours there! My granddaughter got books, loved on the cats & climbed the bookcase ladder.. Highly recommend!
Jim Peterson: This place is very nice! I've been here many many times and I love losing myself in there. Definitely worth visiting for sure.
Magic Michael Myers: I don't understand how this place is surviving. Y'all have used books priced as new. Every single book I looked at was cover price. Why on earth someone would shop here and not go online or Walmart even is beyond me. This is exactly why mom & pop stores fail. You can't over charge to simply stay in business. You're ripping people off just bc it's more convenient than waiting on a book in the mail.
Lori A: Great independent bookstore! You can find some amazing old books & everything new as well. Worth a stop!
P M: Great place! Very cozy, wonderful selection :)
William Krings: They have everything. Prices are good. The cats are nice.
Nichole Sullivan: This is possibly one of the best book stores I've ever been to, and that's saying something because I've been to a lot. What strikes me most about this store is how much it has, but how easy it is to find stuff. The vibe is fun, the layout is fun, the selection is amazing. The sci-fic section is huge. A must visit.PS there is a bonus store cat!
Spencer Hanning: Always a treat
Kelsey Schultz: The Book House is possibly the greatest bookstore I've been to in St. Louis. With the space that they have, they've crammed the most books per square foot I've ever seen. The shelves are full, so make countless stacks on the floor! Why not? Though I did trip a few times when browsing. Despite the over-full space, staff has maintained a very orderly setup. The Book House offers new and used books of every genre as well as collector's editions and very old volumes. There's comfortable seating throughout, rolling ladders that customers can use, and a bright children's section. On the wall leading downstairs are several author autographs after they presented or signed books for an event. I'm eager to go back and continue exploring.
BreakingRigsby Stl: Loved this place. It looks the way a book store should look. Like if the library of congress fit inside a one bedroom apartment. Wall to wall books. So many authors and subjects that i felt i was among old friends. Great place
Jessey DeVaney: Support local small businesses! I don't often purchase books these days but this place always has what I need and if they don't they are willing to get them for me!
Emily: Great selection of books! I could spend hours browsing the titles. Very reasonable prices for the St. Louis area
David L. Gill: Book buyer's dream! Great selection and friendly staff.
Simon: I bought a 1st edition cookbook advertised on their website. Took them a week to ship, and then they sent me a 2nd edition. Their only response was to return it at my cost. That ain't the cowboy way.
Matthew Weld: Cool vibe, and they certainly have a lot of books! The new titles are mixed in with the used books. I didn't find any good deals, and they didn't have the breadth of offerings in the Fantasy/SciFi section I was expecting with so many books due, I think, so repeats of many titles. I'm always on the lookout for independent bookstores, and will definitely be back to support them.
Tim Sisemore: Great new and used bookshop. Nice vibe
Danielle Zavradinos: If they don’t have it they’ll get it. Helpful staff, so many books!!
Amanda C.: Books and CATs! Doesn't get any better than that. Terrific selection of books as well.
albert ponciroli: Great independent book store. You want it, they most likely have it. New or used. Support the small guys so we have them in the future.
Grace Lawrence: I love a used book store and want to love this place. I've found it to be somewhat overpriced for used books, but love the atmosphere. However, I've learned they don't pay or give store credit for donated books. Yet they often charge near or full price. It doesn't feel ethical to take books for free and charge so much.
Shari Whay, St. Louis Realtor: I have always wanted to stop in here. Well today I was in Maplewood and I had time to stop in. Wow! There are soooo many books! I found it to be pretty well organized and was able to find the categories I was looking for. I have always loved independent bookstores and this one has new books, collectibles and tons of used books. The cookbook section was my favorite!

Dunaway Books: what do users think?
Jacob Lang: This book store is for a very specific audience. 95% of the books are non-fiction. Which is fine, but is not what is advertised or what I want. Has a very very small selection of sci-if/horror/fantasy books.
Boo Boo: Great book store clean place
p0nyki11er: Crooks
Benjamin Davenport: Excellent book store with a constantly changing (and interesting) variety. Recommend checking it out.
Elizabeth Loudon: What an incredible place! Just went for an event yesterday. It smells like books. Their selection is great. There's a piano and sometimes talented people play it. Their music event yesterday was really nice, and then the poetry readings were excellent too. I can't wait to come back.
Zubin Chandran: Wow. This isn't some curated corporate bookstore carrying the novels-of-the-week from Nora Roberts and James Patterson. It's a completely off-the-hinges used bookstore meant for the serious aficionado, and the quantity of books reminded me of Powell's in Portland. You'll find some of everything. Book of Ogden Nash poetry near the front entrance. Book of convolution integrals downstairs. Stacks of sheet music. First editions. An absolute ton of material on religion and especially Judaism. If you want to spend 3 hours browsing, this is the place to go. This is now my favorite bookstore in St. Louis, and I plan on going back this week for a proper browsing session.
wrecklizz xxx: Its a nice little hole in the wall gem. I searched for one book exactly where they said for like 10 minutes and couldnt find it and the kind employee didnt make me feel dumb when he easily found it 🤣 they have lovely handmade models on the racks and little box models with origami figures(including a cute pterodactyl) i took pictures but my phone is too full to find them so go check them out for yourself. Its a nice cozy atmosphere (and was nice to check out books while the rain stopped)
Mariah Davis: The bookstore I had always dreamed of finding.
Jeff Tynes: I have sold numerous antiquarian books and ephemera to Dunaway Books on S. Grand and I have been very pleased with the way my items have been appraised and purchased. The owners, Kevin and Claudia are always pleasant and professional. I think Pat Dunaway would be proud to have his name still on the building.
Turdfacey: Do not go to this place to sell books if you want anything for them. Tried this place twice thinking maybe the first time was just an off experience. Called before going in both times and the guy I spoke to assured me they do not screw people over when buying. They should have just told me on the phone to bend over. They’ll find any reason to tell you your copies are worth far less than what the going rate is on internet sites. They go into the corner and talk before offering you the change they have in their pocket and make it seem like they’re doing you a huge favor. Rude and scammers. They offered me $15 for 4 books I wanted to sell, I went to a competitor and got $250 for one of them. Shop around before you do them any favors by stepping foot in their shop.
R M: Smaller local bookstore with a good selection of books. Helpful staff and a great atmosphere!
Owen Johnson: My friends and I walked by after breakfast nearby and decided to pop in for a browse - it was a good decision! The book selection is very good, well labeled, and the employees were very helpful when I wanted to check for an obscure book. Even better - the atmosphere of the place was incredible. It felt bright and warm and welcoming! There were several chairs around the store so you could sit down and read a selection for a little while. Very thoughtfully designed place. I left with a wonderful selection of poems by a poet I've recently found. While I'm only visiting town, if I come back through St Louis, I'll be sure to stop by again!
Steve Doss: Today was my first time in. My experience was superb. Great staff and a ton of amazing books.
Sue P: Great books
Davyd T: Such a fun store
Annaliese Gill: Lots of options and great used books!
Kris Lugosi: Wow. The book finds here are unreal.
Jinx Stox: The atmosphere in there is great, very calming and relaxing there's a piano to play, so many books to read and sift through. A delightful place... 😌
Kaitlin Gallaher: Ive been to this bookstore twice now, and so far have spent a few hours in there each time I've gone. I have come out with a few stacks of books too! I love the set up and selection of books(which is quite large) I definitely recommend coming here atleast once. I will be coming back as soon as I can!
WILL ROBERTSON: I have found music books and sheet music for piano that I could never have found anywhere else.
Glenn Seo: A gem in STL. Well organized, rare books! Friendly! I can spend a day here.

Hammond's Antiques & Books: what do users think?
Logan Brammeier: Lots of nooks n' crannies to get lost in, great selection of books, and the owner's really cool 😎
Connie S. Fein: The owners Jovanka and Knez are extremely rude. Knez was extremely condescending in front of other customers, and his sister needs a gold-plated broomstick. Totally entitled and cheap to the point of being dishonest about it. Their shop is dark, dingy and reeks of mold and mildew. You’re much better off buying and selling your books online. I wouldn’t set foot in their shop again.
Chaz williams: This place have all kinds of book you can even get new old stock if your lucky (I lucked up and got 6 brand new goosebumps books with everything in them crazy rare find) place is two floors and full and owner is great
D Thomas: Best place to look for books in the city. Check out upstairs and be prepared to wander.
Ed Shafer: Amazing collection of books.Friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff!
Chelsea Murphy: An absolute highlight from our trip.
Vernon Bain: Great collection of wonderful books.
Sharon Lightfoot: Visited Hammond's Books to browse poetry. Nice selection and found a lovely collection about New Mexico. The perfect gift for friends who love the area. The salesman was friendly and attentive. Home grown business with an international flair. I'll be going back.
Lindsay Trammell: One of my favorite book stores. If the woman is at the desk, she’s very friendly and helpful. However when the male is at the desk, he is incredibly rude and acts inconvenienced by customers. I left instead of buying what would have been over 100 dollars worth of jewelry because he was so rude to me. He needs to find a different job. Looking at reviews i am by far not the first person to say this about him- please get someone else to work at this place or I’m afraid i won’t be coming back to one of the best stores on Cherokee.
Jeff Baechle: I love Hammonds and I hope you will visit soon. A book lovers place to shop as well as there jewelry and antiques. The owners are smart, friendly and very engaged.
Annie Schmid: Absolutely a destination on Cherokee St. for a quiet, fun afternoon alone or with a friend. The owner(s) were incredibly welcoming from the start, and had great recommendations on an author I inquired about. It reminded me of the beautiful, narrow townhouse bookstores I went to in Oxford. So charming and tidy- but so much to see! We loved the selection of vintage prints displayed throughout, the costume jewelry, and of course all the books! There’s plenty of comfortable seating around the top floor to peruse through potential purchases. I can’t wait to come back.
Harold Miller: Store is packed with books. Most are priced reasonably. Owner and staff are very friendly. It seems that the store is open during the posted hours.
adrienne neal: this is an extremely quaint bookstore. we enjoyed browsing the stacks. a wonderfully warm place for readers.
Andrew Galbraith: Music is nice. Selection is incredibly disjointed and extremely hit or miss with vastly skewed, higher pricing in store versus what can be purchased used online from different sellers. Store owner offered no greeting when we entered and brushed me off when asking pricing on a book. Would not go back.
David Lewis: Chocked with books but not a welcoming vibe from the owner and can easily find more (cheaper) on abebooks.com.
Danielle Cozzola: The music they play here is beautiful. The prices are a bit high and I found multiple shelving errors throughout. Very nice atmosphere, but very crammed and the selection is a bit dated.
Annabelle Cushman: This place is amazing. The second we came in we were greeted by the comforting smell of books. They organize the materials via genres and sub-genres, they have a section for vintage/ antique books and a Mark Twain section! The Children's section is full of books that I loved when i was a kid, hard to find elsewhere books that I can't wait to share with my daughter.I feel like I could spend hours here, browsing books, admiring the old photographs and artwork they display in various places on both floors, or checking out the many other items kept on display at the check-out counter, and it wouldn't even be an issue. The shop owners encourage browsing and they made the already fantastic store feel even warmer and welcoming by treating us like we were old friends.I will definitely be returning.
Santa Torres: Interesting place if you like old books, they also have some really cool prints and lots of vintage jewelry and other antique knick knacks.
Mel Dalton: My mom purchased my birthday present from these fine folks. It arrived quickly and safely, packaged well with a cute pencil and a small notebook. Love supporting small family-owned businesses! 10/10
Keep God First: The store smelled bad and they weren’t helpful.
