The Cheshire: what do users think?
Hollie: While we absolutely loved the theming and charm of this hotel, the cleanliness needs to be addressed. We were in room 332 and there was dust on everything! There were dust bunnies clinging to the ceiling, the furniture, and layers of caked dust along the baseboards, behind the bed, and in the bathroom around the vanity/cabinet. The whole place desperately needs to be thoroughly deep cleaned from top to bottom. It also seems a little tired - like it's starting to need some updates. The "frosting" on the glass on the bathroom door is starting to disintegrate, carpets are starting to tatter, flags on the front of the hotel lobby/entrance are shredded and dirty, etc. The whole place needs some love - with a deep cleaning and updates, it could be fantastic.
Madelize McCandless: Nobody answers the phone! Then when they finally did they hung upRooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Matt Bollinger: Family and I Just shared a holiday weekend with Folks at the Cheshire. We were in town for wedding and our stay could not have been better. Hotel clean, People super friendly, rooms so cool. Each one named after famous English Author or character. Fox and Hounds on site bar makes you feel like your lost in an old English novel a hundred years ago. By all means, it will be the only place I stay when in STL.Food & drinks: Fox and Hounds... super cool bar
Sean Ingle: Don't forget to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed.Very nice place to stay, all the staff we encountered were just fantastic, friendly, helpful and a delight to speak with. They even have an adult and kids scavenger hunt which we did. If you like or are into British poets authors or playwrights or just like that atmosphere definitely a cool place to stay. We'll be back for sure
Steve Hobick: Our previous stays at the Cheshire have been good. This time began bad when I asked for new towels and cleaning the trash. I was told they couldn’t do it that day, but would do it tomorrow. The next day no one came. Then my wife called the front desk. The man that answered was unprofessional and clueless. My wife asked for towels and cleaning the trash. He brought two towels and trash bags. After pulling the bag from the bathroom trash, it smelled like urine. He mentioned the help wasn’t very good. I had a thought, if not why doesn’t management fix it. New ownership or management doesn’t seem to care. As for our family, we will NOT go back to the Cheshire.Noteworthy details: First three stays greatThis one was badWont be back
roland boguszewski: Called the front desk on our 2nd day as we set our used towels next to the room door in the hallway that morning. Housekeeping never gave us new towels or even picked up the dirty ones. The guy at the front desk didn't answer the phone, so I walked to the front myself only to find him standing at the desk, ignoring the phone ringing while I watched. My wife got physically sick after eating the fish at the motel pub.If you have difficulty walking, don't park in the downstairs parking garag. There is no elevator until you are on the 1st floor. So unload your luggage at the front entrance.
Andrew Bobrowiecki: Had to change rooms because the bath tub was dirty. Doors were busted and scraped. Staff was great, but for the price ($300/night) would not stay here again.
MsStingFan: Very close to where I needed to be. Excellent service in boutique hotelRooms: Very clean and quaint with book themeFood & drinks: Fox and Hound charming Lond pub style place. Dark booths but can play games.
Jonathan Kraft: Didn't stay here but went to pick up some family who were staying here. What I loved about walking into this place was all the unique names and decor, and the location close to Concordia Seminary. That part was great for older family members who needed to be somewhere close.
Shyre Horvath: Great place. Loved the theme and loved the pubRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Nysha Nelson: The Cheshire is a really unique property with loads of charm and character. Direct out of an sweeping English Drama the rich woods, antiques and eclectic accessories fulfill the fantasy. The staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant, The Fox and Hound had a limited menu but our choices of Bangers and Mash along with Shepherd’s Pie (actually cottage pie made with beef as opposed to lamb.) was tasty.Breakfast was carb laden — not great for anyone gluten sensitive but there were berries and some apples and bananas. As for the room — this is where the accommodations start to fall short. The room was nice enough. Kept refreshed for a property that is sixty some years old. The bathroom has been updated recently. Though why the light switch was across the room from the door under a towel seems an oversight. Not even an illuminated switch to help one find it.The mattress was decent. The pillows however were more the size of a lumbar pillow rather than a bed pillow. The headboard was attractive but uncomfortable to lean against. There was a gap between the headboard and mattress that eat the pillows. The base of the bed is much larger than the mattress and bruised a shin bad enough for an ice pack to be needed for the evening.Nice enough and interesting yet the next time I am heading to St. Louis I will go elsewhere.
Lu Ann Flechsig: We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. Great coffee, fresh fruit, eggs and sausage, plus hashed browns (not every day with the hashed browns. Muffins, toast, bagels and pastries. Croissants one of those days. Only thing was that one of the days, instead of separate scrambled eggs and sausage, they mixed them, which left vegetarians with essentially nothing warm to eat. Room was decent, but the bed posts were killing us. We both managed to bang them several times, and I see in other posts that it wasn't just us. I think they need to pad them.:-) The downside was that there wasn't a microwave or fridge in the room. You could request a fridge (I wish they would have mentioned that more clearly when we booked) but they are limited in number and when we asked, none were available. The restaurant right next door was convenient. Public is seated one floor down, so no windows, and quite dark. The main floor is for events I believe. Reminded me of Cheers with the big center bar, but I would have preferred a little bit more light. I think they used gas lighting/lamps. Food was good. It's literally a block from the freeway entrance and exit so it was very convenient for us. There was a gas station on the other side of the restaurant and a little Chinese takeout restaurant that we tried. It was ok. Very old school Chinese food. Where we live there are many great Chinese restaurants so it was just ok. Very nice owners.
dustin harms: Pretty neat. Only negative is the common food area could be cleanerRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Al Di: There's a few really nice employees working there but there's one manager or I don't know who she is that constantly is scowling at you, she gave me a dirty look two times I ask for something. My nephew is in the ICU would have been nice to be treated nicely and kindly my family was going through a lot and to be given dirty looks each time i left and spent 700 dollars for 4 days stay. I also think it needs a good cleaning its really dusty and dirty the girl wiped our breakfast table crumbs onto out chairs it was strange the pillows are flat like pancakes for the prices you would think they could afford new pillows. I got one last eye roll for the road ya I saw it when I walked out the door. We didn't do anything to be treated so badly we didn't ask for a room cleaning nothing so why is it they think its ok to treat us poorly because they think we can't see it? Get out of the hospitality business

Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark: what do users think?
Justin Paul: How can this be a four star hotel when it has no microwave in the room?? Super 8's have a microwaveRooms: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
MATT SCHMIDT: AWESOME hotel, customer service was spot on, in particular the staff in the 360 club did a wonderful job helping me celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday! Will be back for sure and highly recommend it to all!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Great value …More
Jake Leverton: Location is the only thing good about this hotel, but you can find better ones in downtown St. Louis. Between room rate and fees I paid $450 for one night. The bathroom was disgusting. There were holes in the walls. Check in was 3. We arrived at 4:30 and had to wait an hour for our room to be finished. I will never stay here again and you shouldn’t either.
Adam Thompson: When Check in time is 4pm and the hotel can't get you checked in until 930pm it is a problem. over 400$ for a room that you cant get in. No partial refunds offered, they just don't care.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 5/5 …More

VERA BENOIT: The people that work there are so friendly and helpful. Love the hotel because of its people. Thank you guys for a great stay.Walkability: Great location
Nate B: I really enjoyed this place. My room was clean and had a great view. The concierge room had decent food. The rooftop bar was also nice. Service was okay. I would definitely recommend this place.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Matt Brewer: It’s a nice hotel with a great location. Staff is generally helpful and knowledgeable. Executive lounge had good food and drinks. Hotel does need some updating with the general appearance, but we love the place and stay each year when we come to games.Rooms: Need a little updating but they are overall good.Nearby activities: Right next to Arch and Ballpark Village.Safety: It’s STL and sadly the local politics have allowed crime to increase. Stay with groups if you go out. It’s safe by the Arch, but the park can be shady at times.Walkability: Close to a lot of attractions, but do be careful walking around at night.
Rick & Keina Beasley: May 19th our family stayed at the hilton. I was charged 1,030.00 for our 2 night stay which was fine but 2 days later they charged my card another 1,030.00 in the form of a pre authorization which is still pending on my account. The accounting department has been zero help in lifting this 2nd charge. It is the Hilton pretty much stealing from me, charging my account twice. Please think twice before staying there. We have stayed the 40 times atleast and have only had minor issues like the a/c not working and plumbing problems. Guess I'm gonna have to drive 2 hours there to talk to someone face to face. The Hyatt down the road is a nicer hotel if your visiting Stl we have stayed there 20 or so times..In other words we will not be back there & will tell other season ticket holders about this so they are aware of how they treat people.
susie nagle-burrall: Was beautiful view from the room, great friendly staff, the rooftop bar was great, and the location was perfect. No complaints! Will stay again.
Kayo Owens: Location was the best thing about it seeing that we went to game. Nothing special others than that and parking is terrible.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Rebecca Logan: Filthy lobby restrooms VERY noisy over charged, room was small and sub par shower head was falling off the wall, the door men were the ONLY helpful people there! One good thing the views from the 10th floor room were stunningWalkability: Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to go
Kevin towns: Safety: Security was too notchRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Brent Edwards: The bed was hard to sleep on. I had to call the front desk in order to find the ice machine, which was 6 floors down. No directory in the room. The personell was very friendly. Finding food around there was sorta hard to find. All that's available in the hotel was a Starbucks and a bar.Walkability: It's very close to great landmarks.
Jill Newlin: Small rooms with an incredibly small bathroom. Several things were broke or didn't work (hot water on the faucet didn't turn on, no soap/shampoo in the dispensers, AC sounded like a freight train). The door keys never worked so we constantly had to get new ones which meant constantly waiting for elevators that are way too small to support the hotel capacity. Also, at night one elevator is dedicated to the rooftop "club" (P.S. dont stay here with kids) so you can't even get back to your room. The pool was closed because it had to be cleaned and someone pulled the fire alarm so the hotel had to be evacuated. These couple things, the hotel "couldnt" control but they definitely could have handled the situations better from a client service perspective. Just really bad all around.
