Brasserie by Niche: what do users think?
Michael Strong: This experience was like every truly French thing: decadent and perfectly erotic. Nothing was over done. Nothing was under done. The flavors were balanced such that the star of the dish was the star and everything else was subject to it. The escargot has a delightful twist I've never experienced before and was just so amazed by (herb infused corn meal?) IDK. Amazing. Spectacular. Exactly what a French restaurant should be. Yum.
Jim Thacker: I refuse to believe that people frequent this place on a regular basis. This place is the most over priced, over rated restaurant that I have ever been in. The ambiance was horrible, just a dilapidated old building. I had the braised beef with glazed carrots and potato puree. The braised beef was okay, the carrots consisted of about 1/2 of one carrot diced at different angles. The potato purée is nothing more than watered down mashed potatoes and there might have been two tablespoons of it. The salad that I had was the worst I think I ever had. The desert, the floating island was nothing more than a dollop of whipped cream on a little crème brûlée sauce with some shaved almonds... not even a scoop of ice cream. I’ve had better dinners at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans. I've eaten at many high end restaurants but I've never been so disappointed. I’ve paid high end prices but was never disappointed like this place. I have no idea how they got so many good reviews. $127.00 for the wife and I with the tip. She had a half chicken. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Richard Hamilton: Place was great. Food was good and the service was excellent.I had mussels and they weren't the best. I think I'm building a habit of ordering seafood in the Midwest and expecting more than can be reasonably provided. My wife had the burger and our friend had steak. Everything was good to great. We'll be back.

Bob Cymber: We specifically reserved a table for 2 at the Brass Bar, and it was obvious that they forgot and tried to bus a table ready for us. Had to wait a bit for our table, but the food and service was good. However, if you are going to reminisce about the amazing experience from Taste Bar, I think you will be disappointed. I wish Taste Bar was still here 😩

My Saltwater Tank: Extremely racist staff and atmosphere. It’s very evident they do not want people of color dining at this location. Disgusting attitudes of staff.Food: 4/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Cybel Limiac: First and foremost the service from the entrance, wait staff to the end was amazing! The stars are for them only, our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive. Now to the food, we ordered the grand tasting menu, it was presented very nicely, but was not impressed with any of the dishes. The meat from the lamb and pork chop were chewy and most of the sauces were too sweet for my taste. With all the great reviews it gets we must have gone on an off day. The chef with a trucker hat made his way around but we didn’t get a second look, oh well.
John Weber: Jake was a great host. We celebrated my wife's birthday. Halibut, scallops, great fresh pasta with morels. Huge wine list. Jake had a predicted white all chilled and ready for us. My favorite restaurant in st louis. Now my wife's too!Vegetarian options: They will modify a dish to accomodate
Beverly Lozano: Wonderful experience, excellent service and fabulous cuisine! We were a party of 8 and everyone was happy with their drinks and food selections. We shared crab cakes, then on to our entrees. I ordered Torchio, a homemade pasta with tomatoes, pesto and crispy prosciutto. It was delicious!! I cannot wait to go back! Oh yes...the dessert...Beignets with vanilla mousseline, chocolate pistachio sauce. Oh my, tender and delicate in the amazing sauce. Superb!!

The posted menu is supplemented by a generous selection of specials for both a la carte and the tasting menu. We will definitenitly return and the dining room appears full of regulars. Marty Provost: Wow! That says it all. The Crossing is easily one of the best "farm to table" restaurants I've ever eaten at. There was a group of 4 of us and we all did their tasting menu with extra sides of the seasonal and very hard to find morel mushrooms. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was exceptional. Two of us also did the associated wine pairing and it was amazing. If you find yourself in St Louis, The Crossing is a must for a special occasion and experience.

La Bonne Bouchee Patisserie & Cafe: what do users think?
Tanner Tyer: Delicious croissants and coffee!
Katherine Taylor: Nice place to visit with friends and the cakes look spectacular…. But my (one) experience was not great.I saw “patisserie” in the title and saw they had coffee from a sign in the window, so I figured it would be a good place for a coffee and croissant. Ordered a butter croissant and a cappuccino. The macarons looked too good to pass up so I got a few of those too.Cappuccino is made from the kind of machine you might find at a gas station. Fine if that’s your taste, I had just assumed it would be espresso + milk + froth. I’m guessing this was reconstituted powdered milk.Croissant was dry and tough. Idk maybe the Midwestern humidity did it in. You can find as good at Costco. Texture was more like a danish; I also like danishes but that’s not what I ordered. I feel like for a really good croissant you should need to provide proof of health insurance for the amount of butter that’s in them.Macarons I liked. One was pretty hollow, but if you’ve ever tried to make them that’s really hard to avoid.I’d still be game to try their cakes, whoever the decorator is does a fantastic job.If you’re looking for a nice visiting spot this is a lovely spot. But since the website calls itself an authentic French patisserie and café I had higher hopes than what I got.
Janette Rivera: Love it!
Stacy B.: Good desserts. Everything was fresh.
Shaunak Bhika: Cake was phenomenal, delicious and well decorated!
Lana Schaeffer: The cake we ordered was not the cake we received. We ordered the cake pictured with the chocolate covered strawberries. When we went to pick it up it was covered with fruit. It was beautiful, but not what we were expecting. When I talked to the girl who brought it out she said the inside was the same.As you can see from the pictures it was not.Pretty disappointed.
Jeanne Heuberger: Wonderful food and the bakery is the best anywhere!!
Jaclyn NR: Came in after a long while of not being in stlouis and they were packed! I hesitated to wait but took a chance and they were awesome and served everyone very quickly!!! I'm impressed!Update on 5/21/23 - Came in again after a long while! Packed yet I got the cake I came in for fairly quick, great service yet again!
Chandler Prince: It’s definitely high up the list of places I like to get breakfast on a weekend morning. The real reason to go here is their baked goods. This place arguably has the best based goods you’ll find within 30 minutes of where I live.
Gabby Llamas: The breakfast here was yummy! Had there omelet with mixed veggies and it was delicious, not only that but they also had so many choices of pastries they all looked so good it was so hard to choose. Definitely recommend 😋
Joan Kolesarek: The former owner passed away last year and the new owner has stripped the restaurant and bakery of everything that was wonderful and special. It is terribly sad to see it in its current condition. I won’t go back. They have replaced some of the fabulous bakery items with donuts and danish. Sad sad. RIP Olivier.
Adam Pleticha: Excellent lunch spot.
Aaron J: Outstanding food and pastries! Good service. It probably will have a bit of a wait, but very well worth it!
Marinda Helm: Great spot for a quick meal and French bakery treats!
Fz Benbati: Thank you for having authentic and amazing French pastries that actually taste like they are supposed to. The one pastry place out of all the ones in stl that I would go to.
clark reynolds: I have been going here on and off for years. Their products from the bakery are beautiful and delicious!
Lydia Porter: wide selection of pastries. taste was pretty good. a little too expensive for my taste (I'm a broke college kid)
Gracie Gralike: I loved this place! I went awhile ago, but I still remember it; it was that good! French soup was sooooo good. Bakery items are also delicious and I took a bottle of wine home. I would recommend trying this spot out! It's a cute lunch spot and the service was really fast. The patio was also super nice, such a cute French vibe. Prices are affordable.
Patricia Jones: Wonderful service, food and atmosphere!
Emily K: We waited an hour and fifteen minutes to be seated after being told 30 but that I saw they were short staffed and trying their best. Host seated multiple frustrated parties in front of us who complained but had come in after us. After being seated our waitress quickly took our order and gave us drinks and was never seen again until our food came. Food was clearly rushed as we weren’t seated until 2:15 and they close at 2:30. At least the food was decent. I’m sad I have to write this because I love their bakery and pastries.
Greisy Flores: I give my experience a one and I am rating the Cafe. I didn’t mind the 30 minute wait. It was understandable for a Sunday mid-day. I didn’t mind that it took 30 minutes to get our food after we ordered it. Busy place. However, the soup was basically gravy. Great if on mashed potatoes but what in the world?! Thick, super salty. It is supposed to be a broth-like soup. With a piece of crusty bread covered in Swiss cheese and fully melted. None of that was happening.I ordered the puff pastry with the shrimp and sauce. The pastry was like a pot pie and smothered in the sauce.French cooking has a delicate finesse which was clearly missed. Very disappointing experience. The chef needs a copy of Julia Child’s book.Wait staff was friendly and hustling. Kudos to them.

Cafe la Vie: what do users think?
Mike Wyatt II: They had the best French toast I’ve had before. It was crispy yet tender, sweet but not overpowering. The omelet and croissant were tasty as well.Kind wait staff too.
Milla Warren: Absolutely horrible experience, we went here for Mother’s Day and my mother had been looking forward to the reservation for months. The servers were incredibly rude, and when we asked where my moms cappuccino was after 20 minutes after ordering it the waitress rolled her eyes and said she was busy. the whole experience completely ruined our Mother’s Day
svetawarren: A very disappointing experience. Unfortunately both food and service were terrible. I do not recommend it.
Todd Warren: The worst. Mothers day brunch was simple scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, oats. Nothing off the menu. By the time we found out, it was too late to go anywhere else. Service was awful. Ruined mother's day for my wife and mother. $60 for gas station buffet.Food: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Phoenixducky: Terrible service
Cindy La: The food was awesome! Unfortunately, they're severely understaffed. It was seat yourself, but there weren't any clean tables, so we picked one that had the least amount of stuff to be bussed. It took a little for a waitress to notice us. They were both really sweet! However, we didn't get any of our drinks (not even water) till after our food arrived. I went up to pour myself water in a hopefully clean mug I found nearby.
Jonathan Riezman: This place is awful: bland food, high prices, and slow service. I wouldn't eat here again if I were on house arrest in the way-too-fancy hotel this is inside of.
Marian “MsPenguin” Miller: Went here with a family member for Xmas brunch. The food was delicious but they had a limited menu, especially dessert. Service was sketchy as they didn't have enough wait staff. Also they couldn't communicate with each other because a % couldn't speak English. Two people had just been hired and the manager was doing his best. I would return for the food.
K. Cald: The food (Tenderloin Filet), dessert (Choc-Hazelnut Gelato), and drink (The Mark) was delicious! My waitress Angela was awesome! So kind and gave me great suggestions on the menu! Would definitely come back again!
First name Last name: I came here with my partner on a Sunday evening for dinner. If you enjoy a very quiet, nice and calm dinning environment this is it. We had an excellent server named Ray, he was welcoming, professional, and made our experience wonderful.Food/Drinks: Go to their website for the actual menu. They offer a wide variety of cocktails, wines and spirits. The dishes they serve are for light meals, which is what we wanted. I would only recommend adding more variety to the menu, I noticed many similarities to the offered dishes, but there menu maybe seasonal. We ordered the Tenderloin Filet, the Galette and the Blood orange sorbet. It was all delicious. We will definitely return because of the great service we received.
Brinda Gupta: Mark is always an outstanding waiter. Good food and ambiance.
Sean Noll: My wife and I had a fabulous dinner at Cafe la Vie. We have a couple of favs in STL (mostly French) and I can safely add this to our "go to" list. App, mains, and dessert were all outstanding. Our server, Corinthia, was knowledgeable and timed the meal perfectly. Pricing is exactly what I'd expect for the food quality. Zero gripes...we'll be back for sure.
Castin: When we got here on a Saturday night at 6:45pm the host said you need reservations but I’ll squeeze you in.. (there were 6 occupied tables) Ok then we sat down waited 10 mins for the server to come and take our order. 15 mins said no mussels…. Than it took 20 mins to get my unsweet tea. And then it took 40 mins to get my cold dish appetizer. It took 15 mins to process my checks. Do not come here if you want fast service. When we left there was 5 tables with 2 servers and 1 bartender. This is what you call busy night? Granted everyone was nice and food was good, but so slow…
Stark Shapleigh: Trust me, I had the same first initial thought. Why would you go to a restaurant inside a hotel. Well this is exactly why. The food was so damn good, did not have a bad meal here and we had breakfast and dinner here.Recommended dishes Creme Brulee, Pork Belly Confit, Cassoulet, Traditional Benedict, French Toast …More
Rose Cummings: Recommended dishes Pork Belly ConfitMore
Lisa Wong: I really enjoy the vibe of this place. Totally my thing. Been here a couple of times with my best friend. She had the lamb the first time, but did not care for it. I had their burger and enjoyed it greatly. (Comes with a bacon jam) I convinced her to go again. Said we could just get burgers. Unfortunately, for both of us, the burger buns were so burned that it affected the taste of the entire burger. Both were cooked correctly to what we ordered, one as medium and the other medium well. On both visits we also ordered drinks/cocktails. At both visits, these drinks were quite good. There’s not really a sign on the outside of the building that states Cafe La Vie….it’s inside of the Le Meridien Hotel in the affluent/financial district of Clayton, MO. Gated parking is free if you get your parking ticket stamped at the hotel desk when dining here.
J. R. Boedeker: I usually only like to post written reviews if I'm saying good things about a place. Other reviews are so good, but based on our experience here, I just cannot recommend this place at all.Maybe they were shorthanded? I'm not going to go into detail, but pretty much nothing went right. Pretty disappointed.
J H: They do not accept cash. If you are paying with cash, go somewhere else, they don't want your money.Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Lilian Hu Nguyen: Perfect!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Baked Brie, Coq Au Vin, French Onion Soup …More

Bistro La Floraison: what do users think?
Mayur Keshav: Not too often a restaurant hits all the marks with high scores with reason but the team at Bistro La Floraison has honed their craft. We attended Day one of their Brunch Fare.Started with the French Onion Financiers, found our way to the Frittata and Croque Madame.Their mastery has bled into the cocktail and Spritz offerings as well.Have been here for dinner too and while it was excellent, brunch knocked it out of the park!

Matthew Gross: The noise level is so loud, you can't hold a conversation. The food is tasty but the prices are astronomical for what ends up on your plate. To make things worse the wine list is filled with reds that are too young to drink and the prices are outright laughable. Dre Divac: All I can say is wow! First the atmosphere is really cozy with that fine dining feel. We were greeted with a very kind hostess who seated us. The service the rest of the night was Incredible! The food was even better. Everything from the French onion soup, scallops, or the chicken cordon blue!Amazing wine selection and they are able to accommodate with food restrictions as well.Definitely one of the best places in Clayton!
Mallory Bell: This was my second time at Bistro La Floraison and WOW did they knock it out of the park!!! This is the perfect date night restaurant. Our server was extremely attentive. Showstoppers on the menu are the fried chicken cordon bleu and the duck liver tart. If you haven't been yet make reservations immediately!
david butler: We had an outstanding experience at Bistro La Floraison. Cocktails, dinner, wine, and dessert were all great with impeccable service and ambience. We will most definitely return.
Bomi Park: Good atmosphere. For me, the food misses a slight note on almost every single thing I've tried (eight); temperature, seasoning, flavors, etc., which makes it feel overpriced. Golden Kaluga Kaviar was my favorite of all.
Margot: I was so excited to have dinner here with my friends but I got really disappointed. I’ll start with the good things - the interior is classy (though the space is really small and if you don’t like the feeling of sitting close to other people it might be an issue but it is very small Parisian restarting vibe too so it might feel authentic), the food was excellent, the drinks were okay, sommelier was full of knowledge too and the staff were polite and nice but the policy of this place is unacceptable. As soon as we sat at the table we were asked if we would like to order entrees and we felt a bit weird (my friends and I went to many places around St. Louis and we were never asked it in the very beginning), when the waitress saw our confusion she told us that there’s another reservation in 1,5 hours. Since that moment we just felt like we were constantly pressured, and again I don’t blame the staff because I’m pretty sure they were pressured by their management. We had to wait for our beverages too, so we’d be half way through appetizers or entrees when we got our cocktails or wine. My friend just started on her rib when the waitress asked if she’d like to box it, that definitely made us surprised. The whole vibe was very “eat and leave soon” and we didn’t relax, didn’t have any desire to talk about anything and when you go to a place like this it’s not just about food, it’s about spending a relaxing evening and talking with your friends that you don’t see that often. No matter how good the food was I’ll never come back, and I doubt I was the only one who felt this atmosphere of rush and this is what happens when you want to squeeze as many reservations as you can.
Bobby Shah: Definition of perfection. Food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail.Married 18 years and after three kids, we are tired of sad fixed price mediocre valentines dinners. But my wife is back at work and a Tuesday night is actually easier to get out for dinner so we booked dinner. If you’re going to do a fixed menu, the geniuses of Vicia must be the best in St Louis. Every course was perfect!! We asked for a sommelier to pick our wines and his suggestions were great. He must have noticed us making faces at one glass and without asking brought another. His original suggestion needed time but actually turned out great. Can’t wait to go back!Vegetarian options: Nailed it!
Madison Sullivan: Amazing experience and ambiance. Damian was the absolute best from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we walked out. I can't pick my favorite because it was all amazing - we ordered 2 cocktails (La Floraison and Flying Over Normandie), Golden Kaluga Caviar, French Onion Soup, Maine Crab Rillette Toast, Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu (big enough to share) and Pain Perdu for dessert. 10/10, can't wait to come back!
Alyssa Kelsey: Service, cocktails, food, atmosphere… All SPECTACULAR!! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Make the reservation! You won’t regret it!!
Bob Cymber: Had an amazing experience. The scallop dish was the best scallop course I've had in a very long time.
Elizabeth Cali: This place is so pretty! Loved the environment. I would definitely come for a drink at the bar.Reasons to return: (1) the bread, just ridiculously good. (2) The cocktails, original and delicious. (3) the fried chicken cordon bleu, really decadent. The ham is amazing. (4) the cheese plate with the birdseed crackers. All so lovely. Honestly might come just for drinks and small plates next time. Some rough spots: (1) host practices: had a reservation early on a Friday evening, all tables were open except maybe 1. Multiple tables for 2 available. Host sat us at the worst table, right where all traffic moves between the kitchen and seating. Who does this? It makes no sense. My fault, I should have said something but it sucks being that person. (2) scallops were hammered. Would not get them again.
pat fisher: We had an amazing anniversary dinner there last weekend. The atmosphere, service and food were excellent. We enjoyed conversation with our server and the sommelier. Great personalities. Wonderful place for a great memory. Will definitely be back !
Whitney in the City: Recently opened Bistro La Floraison is my date night pick for September. The restaurant and wine bar has a beautiful decor and perfect patio to enjoy the cooler fall weather! Reservations online!MY FAVS: Gougeres, Smoked Trout Rillette Toast, Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu
Diana Hess: Remarkable experience! The setting was romantic and intimate- perfect for a date night. Service was excellent. The server explained the dishes and cocktails and offered the service of the sommelier, who helped us select a bottle of wine to complement our entrees. The menu was small but offered something for everyone. The monk fish entrée was sumptuous and the cordon bleu was excellent. We would definitely recommend the Maine oysters and steak tartare for appetizers. Thank you for an excellent evening!
Mi key: Been here twice already. The food was fair at best. Given the extreme compression of the menu you would expect the 4 main dishes to be exceptional. Service was a 3/5, paying high prices for inexperienced waiters is a no no. The salad was boring, the dressing left nothing to the imagination. The chicken was fair, I needed to order more sauce because the chicken couldn't stand on it own. The short rib left me hungry. Unimpressed both times. Not coming back. Only good thing were the wines.I LOVE Vicia, but this was definitely a disappointment and I tried TWICE!
Miguel de Faria e Castro: The food was great. Highly recommend the Cordon Bleu, the chicken was extremely well cooked.Service was a bit shaky, but that seems to be the case everywhere (drinks took 20 minutes to come out, confirmed our entree order twice, waitress started reciting the dessert menu before all the guests had finished eating, etc). One nice touch is that they have a sommelier, which is not very common for restaurants on this price point. All of her recommendations were excellent.I am not a big fan of the decor, preferred the old style of Bar Les Freres. Also there was loud pop music, which took out from the ambience.I would give 4.5 stars if I could (due to service and ambience), but when on the fence I prefer to round up. Will definitely come back and hope they sort out their service issues.
Jenni Reinwald: Amazing atmosphere, this restaurant is really special. Definitely a perfect date night spot and all of the staff is super friendly. We will be back!
Yuqi Zhang: We accidentally went to this place while actually wanted to go Akar, the entree we ordered Casserole is good, appetizers is alright, my accompany didn’t enjoy it at all.The sever we had is very nice! The worst part is the owner is lack of support of diversity, we asked for a shaded place, the female owner just slightly moved the umbrella and told our server ‘that’s all we can do’ while rolled her eye looking at me. Speaking of that - we do not look like them - Caucasian. The feeling is extremely uncomfortable, and I would not recommend any non-Caucasian folks to go there. I personally won’t return ever again.

Vin De Set: what do users think?
Eric Farson: Fantastic experience. The food and service here are some of the best in St. Louis. Period. Everyone was friendly - the host, waitress, and manager. I have never experienced this before at any restaurant in St. Louis. They really went above and beyond. I got the seabass and it was amazing. The patio is fantastic and also one of the best in St. Louis. I will be back once they reopen!
Eyreka Peterson: Edited 9/19/2022 to add that it is not shocking that this placed caught fire. Like I said below, major systemic issues.I wasn't going to write a review, but the service I received on a Friday evening (8/26/22) was so bizarre I've been thinking about it all weekend. I called the Thursday prior to inquire about reservations for 3:00 p.m. drinks and dinner. I was assured that it would be so slow at 3 that reservations would not be needed. I arrived at 3 p.m. with a party of 4 and no one was in the lobby or bar area so we waited around. A woman came through the door from outside on a mission and stopped in her tracks and asked "do you need something". Not rude, but certainly not kind. We explained we were there for drinks and dinner and she let us know there was no waitstaff to help us yet. Cool, I've worked food service before, I know how it goes right at opening. We asked if we could start with drinks and apps and were directed with a curt finger that it was outside. The bartender asks if we're going to order drinks and food, we say yes and order. We start towards the tables in the dining area and the bartender tells us we should sit in the bar area so she can bring out our apps. I let her know I need to sit at a low top table and there are none in the bar area. We proceed to sit at the table closest to the bar in the dining area. We are only there for a few minutes before she comes over to tell us that the table is reserved. There are zero people in the dining area. It's 3:20 p.m. I let her know that we're planning on ordering dinner and that I can't sit in a high top table. She assures us she has something over in her section. She seats us at a cheap cabana couch, directly in the sun (it's 98 degrees out) out on the deck. It has a tiny table that our drinks and apps barely fit on. We are boiling. We finish our apps and drinks and decided not to stay for dinner (because how even at that table). As we're leaving there are 2 tables seated in the dining area. No reason for us to have been moved. The drinks were great, the food that we had was delicious, the service was the absolute strangest thing I've ever come across. I'm willing to make excuses for 1 person having a tough afternoon and providing subpar service - it happens. When it's multiple people and multiple instances - that's systemic.
Brittany Griffith: Many thanks to Mike and the manager for making our day. The service was good and prompt. See you again soon :)
Malcomn Roach: Still a good place for Sunday brunch. Prime rib is awesome
beautybyraelynn: The women at reception was insanely rude to my group. I felt like I was dreaming… she ruined our evening from the moment we walked in. I never write reviews but I couldn’t help myself.
Ryan Daigle: Always a delicious meal. We've been going here for about 12 years and they always impress!
D M: Absolutely perfect brunch. Danita was our wait staff person today and she was wonderful!
Salvatore Scotto: Nice place, good dinner, staff friendly.
Issa Lifestyle 1: There was mouse droppings on the table. No one working there even attempted to cleaned it up. Horrible first impression. The hostess working Sunday 8/28 around 10:15am did not greet us when we arrived, she said something to a server then continued to eat her bacon. I said "hello" and she replied, "Can I help you?". Immediately I felt the quality of the experience sink to fast food level. I let her know we were there for brunch she asked "Do you have a reservation?" "No we do not." She shoveled the last of her bacon into her mouth, grabbed 2 menus with her hands she just put in her mouth and walked away. We reluctantly followed hoping to recover the ambience of the experience but at this point we are already not feeling welcome. We were guided through a small bar area and sat near a window in the back of the room. Immediately we noticed the droppings on the table, but the hostess had already gone back to the host stand. We never even sat down. I walked back to the host stand to bring the issue to the bacon eating hostess' attention to which she said 'it isn't feces or else we would be shut down'. I advised her that was exactly why I came to tell her instead of taking a picture. Her reply was "Go ahead take a picture cause it's not that." I replied,"OK I will." The person I was with had to ask for a different table, it was not offered to us by the hostess. She said 'the only other space I have is this or that', pointing toward a table in the corner by the door of the room we had just left. We walked over to the table ourselves. As I noticed she was not going to formally seat us, so I took it upon myself to retrieve the menus we left at the poop table and of course to take the photos of the mouse droppings on the table and in the window seal as suggested by the hostess (see attached). It took us about 10 minutes to find a different place to go for brunch; the entire time no one attempted to investigate or clean up the mess we reported. As we left the manager tried to speak to us but it was too late. I couldn't leave that place fast enough. People deserve to have a choice what environment their food is in especially during pandemic times. Definitely looks like rat sh't!!! I will not return.
Michael Wallace: Weather made it perfect. Their rooftop experience is top notch. And their servers are attentive
Jim Williamson: Rooftop bar with a view of the arch
Grant Young: Just stepped out of Vin De Set and couldn’t have been more displeased. We showed up at open, after being advised to do so on a Friday as it will get busy. So we showed up and got ignored until we told the hostess we’d like to have a drink and apps. After being pointed to the bar, through the window, we headed over. One party doesn’t deal well with high top chairs, so we headed to a 4 too under shade after being told “I won’t be able to give you service but that’s okay, I’ll till serve you”So we sat in the shade and maybe 3 minutes later we’re told the entire area was reserved and we had to sit in the sunniest area of the roof top. Had we not ordered, we would have left. This was the oddest and most uncomfortable experience I’ve had in any restaurant, not just in St Louis. If you want bad service, rude staff, and to be lied to, accompanied with honestly good food and cocktails - this is your spot.
Suzie Scrivner: This is my second time here. The food is great! Courtney our server and Bryson the bartender were wonderful. The woman at the hostess stand made me feel like I was intruding. She even came to me and my table at the end of the night to let me know that they were closing at 10. I did not see her tell any of the other patrons that they were closing. I will not come back to this place. We spent over $500 and felt like we were being kicked out early. There were four of us. We asked who she was and were told her name was Sharee. We still had full drinks and desserts. Please put a smile on your face when you are greeting customers. Don’t make them feel like they are not welcome.
Beverly: What happened? Last year we had a lovely birthday dinner with wonderful food; the set menu was fabulous, and the staff were incredibly attentive. This year it was just… bad. The baked brie with strawberry-basil marmalade would have benefited from a more generous serving of the marmalade, but that was forgivable. The coq au vin was absolutely flavorless and dry—confusing given that the dish is literally cooked in red wine. Interestingly, it was served on the same dish shape as the steak even though there was liquid on the dish (still somehow flavorless). The veggies were reminiscent of those served in an elementary school cafeteria. The strip steak was overdone, and the best that I can say about it is that it can be used in leftovers. (Un)happy birthday!
Janeth Hernandez: We had the steak and frites very disappointing. The steak was so fatty and tasted like burnt rubber. Drinks were bland and below average. Prices are far too high for the quality of food. We’ve even been here twice because we really wanted to like it since it is walking distance from our house. Never leave reviews but felt like I should.
Steve McCormick: I feel like it is overpriced. $33.00 / person for a 3 course brunch. They used to have a brunch buffer that was worth 33.00. The service was excellent.
Coleen Hill: Excellent staff, food and rooftop view! One of my very favorite St Louis restaurants. We have not had a bad meal yet. Also wonderful desserts!
cufta05: We dropped in based on a Google search on restaurant with a terrace. Also, we thought it would be possible to order a coffee because of the French restaurant. Unfortunately, our thinking was wrong. The quality of the coffee was terrible. The service was bad. The employees together with the manager did not seem to know where to put us. We wandered around to find an area for "coffee drinkers". The manager who was on duty did not care when we told her that the coffee was terrible. Overall C-Coffee 1.5/10Service 5.5/10
Cheryl Andrews: Great food and service
Mark Leibu: Probably better for dinner. Sunday brunch, so and vs so
Eric W Thompson: Good view outside on the roof. Fine food with attentive service. Prime rib was awesome.
