Alkistis Mavroeidi: Absolutely loved the food and cocktails.
Derek Leath: Always very good and very consistent. The best Old Fashioned in town.Recommended dishes Risotto, Lobster Rangoon, Gnocchi, Lamb Shank, Sweet Potato Gnocchi …More
KEJIAN SHI: excellent food and great place for friend gathering. I recommend short rib and duck breast. The crispy pork belly is also terrificParking: There are some street parking space before 6 pm
Joe Jordan: Stephen our waiter was awesome. Excellent veg style dishes. Nice space. Well paced. The drinks were fantastic.Recommended dishes Chocolate Lava Cake with Raspberry, Whiskey Flight, Gnocchi …More
Frank Moon: Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Shiyue Rong: ⚠️Please read this carefully before you make reservation⚠️⚠️As a Chinese, I would say each dish should worth at least 10$ less based on its quantity and ingredient.⚠️The most ridiculous one is the potstickers(normal dumplings), 4⃣️dumplings with normal sauce cost 15$? You can get at least a bowl of 10-15 dumplings in any Chinese restaurant for about 15$. The dumplings here even taste like the frozen one from any supermarket.⚠️The entrees we order are also disappointing. 6⃣️pieces duck breast cost $41??? Even the meat is not totally cooked. Again, you could get this amount of pieces in any Chinese restaurant for about 20$.⚠️Char Siu Hen(Chicken steak): It's just like a normal lunch box which only worth no more than $20. Besides the cooked skin, the meat inside is also not fully flavored, don't think it deserves 32$...‼WOULD NEVER COME AGAIN‼(Unless you just want to take pictures)
Marguerite Mondello: I purchased a gift card for my boss but when it was presented, it was not honored even after I sent proof of purchase. It was embarrassing.
danella Boyer: Everything was flavored so perfectly!
David Briggs: We waited way too late long to come here. Phenomenal flavors and great service. The Japanese eggplant with the trip all by itself.
angela ames: Recommended dishes Gnocchi, Lobster RangoonMore
Warda Shafi: Food looks beautiful, tastes wonderful. I had the duck with saffron rice with Jasmine tea and everything tasted wonderful. I wanted to give special thanks to the staff, who made me feel comfortable as I was dining alone and everyone else was apparently on a date on Saturday night.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ashlie: Recommended dishes Braised Short Rib, Lobster RangoonMore
Sara Butts: Truly one of the best meals of my life. Every bite here is thoughtfully made and crafted. It is expensive so definitely a special occasion kind of place. It is also a very small restaurant, so you have to have reservations.
Brian O'Shaughnessy: Top quality dining experience, very attentive and intimate, very good food. Entrees $35-$45Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sara Williamson: I have been to Akar probably 10-15 times and the food is always excellent. The lamb shank is some of the best food in Saint Louis. It is for this reason that we decided to take our out of town friends here for nye dinner to show them the best of Saint Louis. The dinner was wonderful until I asked for a box for my half eaten lamb shank, which the box never arrived for. Eventually I asked if the box was coming, but was told it was thrown away and there was nothing on it. Now I don't normally like to dispute that, but I intentionally left about half of the meal to eat later. The waiter did apologize a couple of times, but nothing was done to rectify the issue. I think this was most likely a fluke as I have never had an issue before, but I was left feeling disappointed. I sincerely hope this does not happen to others, and was a one time thing.
Erick: Lovely dining experience with cozy and intimate setting - indoor dining space is quite limited but as a result, it feels quite homey. The tamarind ribs appetizer was sinfully delicious and had no right to be that tasty. Easily would order a full slab if available. The catch of the day (barramundi) was much more reserved but equally as delicious. Would recommend for a lovely date night out!
Caitlin McMahan: Excellent experience for us! My husband and I are from Atlanta and we walked in, not knowing that there were set times for us to reserve to eat there. They were understanding and said that we could sit at the bar until the next reserved guest came in. The bar was the best seat in the house because we truly got to talk about food with our server and others around us. We ordered the pea soup, lobster rangoon, pot stickers, cha sui chicken, and the chicken pho. The food was flavorful. Many of the dishes had complex flavors that made you go wow. Our cocktails and mocktail were delicious. This place is worth making a reservation at and you do not want to miss anything that is happening here.
Avery: A intimate experience with amazing food. Every single bite was an explosion of flavor. The spare rib fell right off the bone. The blossom cocktail was delicious. All of the vegetables were all cooked to perfection. I didn't know mashed peas could be so delicious. The roasted carrots and eggplant were great as well. It was expensive but worth every penny.
Nick Wheeler: Among the best meals I’ve ever had. I recommend the walnut dip as an appetizer and the lamb shank if it’s still on special.
Matt Harris: Spectacular service spectacular food. I don't think I would have expected couscous in a restaurant build as Malaysian food but my lamb shank was fabulous nonetheless.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Bulrush StL Restaurant: what do users think?
Miguel de Faria e Castro: This is probably the most unique dining experience you can get in St. Louis. The atmosphere and food are phenomenal. The chef himself introduces each of the elements of the tasting menu, and how they integrate the restaurant's mission of extreme local sourcing and archival quest for the lost art of Ozark cuisine. When I first heard about "reparative restauranting", I thought this would be another gimmick, but these people know what they are doing. I am usually not very positive in my reviews, but this was a truly unforgettable meal.
Liz Hustedt: A uniquely unforgettable experience. My partner and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here in April, and I'm counting down the days until our next visit. The chef and staff go to great lengths to educate diners about food and history in the Ozark area in a way that feels meaningful, raises awareness, and frankly, makes me feel proud to live in Missouri. As an empathic individual, I was worried my ability to enjoy the food would be overshadowed by my own white guilt as I sobbed into my Ozark dishes, but that wasn't the case. Kudos to chef and the staff for their incredible work. We'll see you again this month.
G1 User: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Kris LaVelle: Delicious, one-of-a-kind, multi course meal. No two day's menus are the same, but all are top tier, unmatched quality, with locally sourced, historic, handmade dishes. Individual attention to diners by a most knowledgeable and caring staff.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jim Johnson III: Great new dining experience, but you have to have an open mind and willingness to try new things to fully enjoy it.
Timothy Schlueter: If you are in St Louis looking for a high quality and very unique experience this is definitely the place for you. I may not exactly be a world traveler but I have been in several countries including the US Canada France Belgium Germany and Italy, and in my travels this is actually the most unique restaurant I have been in yet. They specialize and regional ingredients and zero waste. From here you just have to go and experience yourself.Dietary restrictions: Clearly requested if we had any dietary restrictions, and offered to adjust our food as needed.
Merrill Kaye Arens: an incredible experience. out of this world food curated with care and love for the ingredients that shows in every dish.
Eduardo Sequeira: As an outsider when I think about St Louis food I imagine fries, burgers and barbecue.Bulrush just broke that stereotype because is an hybrid of fine dining, french cuisine techniques, history, local ingredients and Missouri cuisine.I will not be surprised if in the future Bulrush get a Michelin star ⭐✨This is the reason why we should go out for dinner 🍽️ and try a different stuff. The service was amazing and all the food arrived at the right time with the proper QR code with the explanation of the dish.Again another good experience at Bulrush.
William Bernard: I’ll try to spare you the fluffy adjectives, as I am not a food critic and cannot write like one. Words do not accurately describe the food at Bulrush.Imagine taking a walk in the woods of the Ozarks with an anthropologist, a botanist, and a culinary genius. You forage along the way, and one week later you’re invited over for dinner at their home. You get to watch the chef work and join a conversation with the other two while the meal is prepared. This is the closest description of our experience at Bulrush. The whole thing is very well done. Let your guard down when you go (because you will if you’re reading reviews). Ask questions. Rely on the staff. This place will change your perception of food and make you appreciate your back yard a little more.
Ysa G.: The best meal of my life. This is clearly the owner's passion.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Bomi Park: The best food experience I've had in St. Louis. Such a cool experience. Can't recommend enough! Super special.
Timothée Ouellon: Fun and tasty tasting menu focused on having zero waste and working mainly with local producers to have the freshest product. Liked the proximity and involvement of the staff and kitchen.
Abby Ford: My partner and I loved the Bulrush experience. Super appreciative of their attention to detail, investment in the Ozark history/community, and in-depth descriptions of each course. Obviously, the food was fantastic - great experience 10/10 would recommend. Thanks to the Bulrush team for helping make our anniversary fantastic!!(Also, I was nervous about the dress code, but there doesn't seem to be one - more of a wear what makes you happy/smart casual vibe!)
Mary Herrington-Perry: Offering authentic Missouri cuisine at its finest, Bulrush is one-of-a-kind!Vegetarian options: Yes!Kid-friendliness: Get a babysitter....Dietary restrictions: Let them know in advance and they will accommodate you.
Kris Lugosi: I'll give more of a review later but for now, this 7 course delight has me in tears. I had an emotional reaction to this food. If Christian Heaven serves this food, I will absolutely look into converting.
Cheryl Dennison: Truly a unique experience! Every aspect of the evening. Chef Rob views food and guests encounters with the meal as an event. I ate foods I've either never eaten or didn't like and LOVED every bite I had.
Brenda Smith: My boyfriend and I shared a fabulous evening exploring Michelin chef nominee Rob Connoley’s modern interpretation of Ozark cuisine at Bulrush STL. Each course was meticulously prepared and described table side. All ingredients are foraged by the chef himself and crafted into a constantly changing menu. The wines, hand crafted cocktails and ciders complement each dish. The service was exceptional. The chef is very personable and the mixologist was incredibly passionate about his work. The entire staff is very friendly. It was an excellent experience.
E P: Very inventive menu full of flavours. Great energy and research has been put into showcasing the Ozark’s cuisine. We appreciated everything and we ll be back for sure.

TravelUSA: Menu doesn't have any pricing on selections, you'll have to ask b4 ordering. We had Lobster rolls and reasonably priced.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Matthew Goeke: One of the best bowls of Ramen I have had in STL, apps were great too! Scooter is an awesome guy, would come back anytime for service from such friendly folks!
Anna Haas: Honestly mid. The green haired bartender was kind of rude. I also watched him drop the ice scoop on the ground and stare at it for a while before putting it directly back in the ice. He also left our drinks on the bar for 20 minutes in favor of talking to his mom.Food was underwhelming over all.
K Frazier: I wanted to thank you for the great experience my family had at your restaurant last night. We arrived at 8:45 and ordered some appetizers and fried rolls, and they were delicious. Our waiter was super cool - he had dreads and was so friendly. He did a fantastic job of making sure we were taken care of, and my husband even tipped him twenty dollars! We were really glad that we decided to go back.-----------------------------------------------------We came into the restaurant and were excited about the sushi and drinks. We sat at the bar with one other woman, which was cool because it wasn't packed. It was just three people; me, my friend, and this woman. We waited ten minutes before going out of our way for the bartender to acknowledge us at the table to take our order. Strike one.I showed the bartender, who had long, faded, dirty blond blue hair, the drink I wanted from their IG page. I asked the bartender if there was extra juice from the fruit that I may have added to my drink. His response was overly sarcastic and rude, stating, "I don't know. However, much juice comes from a blueberry."Ok, so I let his slick comment slide. He could have said, what kind of juice would you like me to add because the blueberries comepre-frozen?Nevertheless, I let it go. Strike two.We receive our food. We ordered two appetizers and four rolls. We were enjoying ourselves. Five minutes passed, and we were not even 1/4 of the way finished before we received our check. Ok, strike three. We reluctantly ordered another drink before picking up cookies from a nearby establishment. The bartender begins yelling at the waiter passing by about being unable to restock his area because he has to leave. (showing off in front of his girlfriend) The waiter sounded flustered and responded that he would help him. That threw us off because, as a bartender, your responsibility is to get your area ready for the next day, and why are you yelling at a server when you still have customers at the bar? Strike four.At this point, I'm ready to go because the energy from this bartender is off-putting. To lighten the mood as we began packing, leaving, and paying. I stated that the drink was delicious. I needed a little more alcohol. Humor goes a long way. Right? The woman who is at the bar decides to comment, stating. "That's my boyfriend. I saw him make the drink, and how dare you beg for money?"Ok, now I have a rude dry bartender and his weird delusional girlfriend in cahoots with each other—a bad combination—strike 300.I wanted so badly to give this place four stars. But customer service goes a long way. Why would you put a dry, negative person in the front at the bar? They are the face of your establishment.Despite my negative review, I'm sure this is not his first time being rude to customers and staff or having his girlfriend talk irrationally to customers and running them off.Food is cool. The dude behind the bar and his girlfriend have to go. Bad for business.
David Peck: Udon broth was way too salty, basically soy sauce. Teriyaki-don was basically a crazy bowls and wraps bowl but worse tbh. Beer is crazy expensive and half of it was out of stock
V F: Pretty jazzy place! The tea they serve just stole my heart! Where can I buy it though? Please let me know… Fantastical eel!
Caitlyn Schott: It's always great. But the umami mushroom Ramen is gone. And the spicy miso has changed.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Bayard Harken: If I could give this place a 10 outta 5, I would. Great people, amazing food, amazing sushi, and the chillest atmosphere out there. My favorite restaurant by far.
Mark Spencers: Bartender Nicholas had his thumb and fingers inside people's spoons, plates and ice cubes while serving; no handwashing between doing credit card and serving food. Additionally, spent more time talking than taking care of customers.Cup cleaning station had only 2 sinks: cups were barely dipped in 1 clean water sink and 1 disinfectant sink (where is the soap?). Drinking water was served from the same faucet used for cleaning cups (unsanitary).Ramen noodles were undercooked. Ramen was lacking more elements typically found in a ramen (no egg for a $15 ramen?).Sushi was not above any other sushi place, especially for the price. Underwhelming experience for $100 bill.No prices on the menu? (unless you are selling seafood, please add prices).Would not recommend for unsanitary practices and average quality for price. This is coming from someone who likes to patronize local restaurants. Very dissappointing.
Justin Reiling: I used to love getting their lunch special pre-Covid, but it’s no longer offered. I came in today to give it another shot, but there are no prices on the menu, so I left without ordering. I didn’t want to bother inquiring about every item I was potentially interested in. It also just feels sketchy. Do they change their prices based on how you look? The day of the week? Who knows. It was also very dark and not very inviting inside.
Drake Shafer: Came a few times in the past few years- menu is significantly smaller and now there are no prices. Tried to go for lunch but service was really slow. Don’t think I’ll be back.Katsuya and K-Bop down the street are MUCH better and advertise their prices.Nudo House is also a good choice for ramen
Erykc Szminschki: Food: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 1/5More
Amal Mohamed: Not a great variety of options on the menu. The food was good, not great. I thought the setting was nice if you’re looking for a casual group outing.
Mattheo Fundelli: It ok,nothing speciall, not good or bad just ok
MarvelX42: Make great sushi rolls. I like the tempura. Love the decor! Very nice servers and the people who make the rolls obviously are very good at what they do.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Roll, Tempura …More
Erin Bacher: Great atmosphere. We liked that it was a bit more intimate rather than completely wide open. Scooter was a great waiter and provided fantastic service. We ordered a couple of rolls as well as hot sake. We found that, compared to some other places, the options for specialty rolls lacked a little as well as they were a bit bland. However, we'd would definitely visit again and try other items on the menu.
Melissa Cubing: The food was excellent. However service was a bit slower than I would have liked, and there were no prices on the menu. I had to look online, but they seemed not to be quite accurate.
Clayton Guerry: Excellent food, drinks, service, and events. Mr Himbo knows how to run a restaurant, and I can't wait for my next visit when I get back to STL.
Ellen Stimige: Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Sushi RollsMore
