LC Coffee Roasters: what do users think?
Todd A Reed: Pour over Ethiopian - good flavor, can taste the notes and smells like fruit. Also cappuccino was good.White mocha flavor was growing on the drinker.Barista was nice and very helpful.Bought cinnamon rolls for work from Great Harvest - haven’t tried them yet.
Dee Eynon: Excellent coffee, nice and friendly atmosphereFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Julia Manley: We hired the La Cosecha Coffee Truck for our wedding and it was absolutely amazing!! We hired them for the 2 hours before the ceremony for all of our vendors and our guests when they arrived to grab a caffeine kick before the festivities! Greg was so kind and responsive and had so much information and pricing up front. He was clear and communicative and we came up with the perfect plan. The truck pulled up a little early and they got busy to work! The drinks were amazing, the service was amazing, and our guests were absolutely floored at this special treat! It truly made our wedding day perfect. We can't wait to get the pics back!
Echo Kimball: Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Yvonne Cordell: Great coffee and service. Wonderful owners.
Morgan Korth: Nice staff, cute place.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Chamber Of Commerce: They offer the BEST coffee and we love the convenience of being able to order ahead and pick-up!
Jake Salter: The quintessential neighborhood coffee shop. The staff is super friendly, the coffee is great, and they partner with Great Harvest for their food.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Natalie S: The espresso is so smooth and tasty! The barista was super nice too. Will definitely be back!
Walker Carlson: Places like this are why we live in Maplewood!
Megan Blakemore: My favorite coffee shop! Their lattes were always my favorite out of every where i’d go, I didn’t know why until I figured out it’s their espresso that’s different than everywhere else and so good. I had a latte elsewhere and it was just as good but I found out it was because they used LC espresso for their lattes! The girls who work there are great, very friendly and make great drinks.
Rachel Ayres: We love LC! We first got hooked when they brought their coffee truck to 9 Mile Garden a couple summers ago. We live in south county, but it’s worth the hike to Maplewood for a quality cup of coffee! Everyone there is super friendly. They sell a variety of fun gear and freshly roasted beans. If you happen to be there while they’re roasting it smells amazing! I love their oatmeal latte - it 100% tastes like a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar! The canned snap chill coffee is also delicious. Maplewood location is small but cozy, and they share the space with Great Harvest if you need a snack to go with your coffee.Parking: Street parking out front, or lot behind buildingWheelchair accessibility: Entrance is a rampDietary restrictions: non-dairy options
Jennifer Powell: Our favorite place for fresh coffee and friendly smiles in the Lou!The coffee is roasted on location using single-origin, fair-trade coffee. Their seasonal drinks are fun and delicious, as are their regular offerings. The Brown Bear is my favorite summer treat, and I look forward to the Maple Bourbon Latte in the winter. We love their annual coffee club program also!
Dorukhan Doruk: I liked their freshly ground coffee beans, and on top of that, since they share the place with the bakery, it feels like a coffee with the smell of fresh bread :)
Donna King: Excellent mocha and drip. Super creamy and smooth, even with oat milk.
Elvis C.: The quality of their coffee is superb! Ordered the latte, the taste was very smooth, freshly roasted. Had to wait a bit though. We also bought some breads from the bakery inside the cafe, which is kind of interesting combination. Will definitely come back for their in-house roasted beans another time.
Randy Difani: The coffee is great and the service is better!
Mene Ka: Four stars, due to the tasty combination of having a Great Harvest Bread company in the same space as the coffee shop. The barista was very pleasant and friendly, but the double shot of espresso itself was underextracted. The flavor was very weak and off-balance, suggesting channeling, a cold portafilter or group or simply very poor flow control. I do believe the coffee itself is capable of delivering a great cup, I just didn't get to experience that.A very bike friendly and bike accessible location, I will visit again, hoping for a better coffee.
Jo Garman: Great latte! I was studying and drinking my coffee there. Staff are friendly👍🏻
Rachel Thurman: I've only been in a few times, but each time I've had prompt, friendly service. Definitely a great spot to grab coffee before work.
Amaris Peters: A nice little stop in Maplewood to get coffee in the area. However, my companion and I wanted to study and stay but there is actually very little seating and the staff were very noisy with chatting and laughter. I get not a lot of seating due to the size and layout of the restaurant (and after all we did have a place to sit- provably not on a crowded day tho), but the noisy-ness of the staff was definitely a bit much especially with my companion and I not being the only guests trying to study in at least mildly quiet conditions. The noise and seating issues aside, we very much enjoyed the coffee, the chocolate bars, and our time there. They have some fun lattes for the season and extra props as well for having the roaster right there in store and the grinding as well, you know you’re getting a quality cup of coffee that is made right from start to finish right before your eyes. Keep up the good work, just maybe quiet down a little!

John Dunstan: Cool outdoor space. Very good latte and danish.
Jeffrey Lowe: Everything about this place is terrible and it isn't worth a visit. For a place with a giant wall mural of "Control the Narrative," they sure were quick to treat me as less than and talk down to me. That is, when they bothered to acknowledge me at all after standing at the counter for 10 minures without so much as a look. Everybody in this shop was rude and couldn't be bothered with me today. Once they got my money, they were even ruder. If this is how you "Control the Narrative," then I don't want anything to do with you. Next week's episode of the STL Coffee Tour is going to be short! Don't go here. They're not worth the wait. (Edited spelling)
Kevin B: I stopped here for coffee and I have found a new happy place. Very cool setting to sit and get some work done and have great coffee. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. I didn’t get a pastry this time but they looked delicious. Definitely headed back!!
Deth Im: This is a must stop if you're in the St Louis area. I had a macchiato which was delicious. Perfect amount of espresso to milk. My partner had a latte with the perfect amount of sweetness that she asked for. If you love coffee this is your spot!Recommended dishes Egg Wrap …More

Cami: There's better coffee shops for the money. I went for the first time today. Had no idea that they didn't like people standing near the counter to wait for their drink. One of the girls behind the counter very rudely told us to leave and wait for our order. We had no idea how we'd know our order was ready so just took a seat outside. They eventually called our order over the intercom. The drink was just okay there were grounds at the bottom. Less than average experience.
bronwyn miller: the coffee is excellent, but the food definitely leaves something to be desired (especially the egg wrap)
Nathan Flory: Their entry set up was a bit weird- sign said only one person at a time could be in the ordering area but the converted outside area was nice with heaters and benches----- strawberry latte was really good- they have a restroom in the back.

Inessa Utayev: Coffee was great but the food was underwhelming. We had a cappuccino, vanilla bean lattes iced + hot, and an iced matcha.Empanadas are okay tasting, kind of stale. They don’t tell you the salsa comes at a charge, but they offer it with your food.Bagel with avocado, strawberry and goat cheese was unique, wouldn’t order again.Bathroom needs a refresh.
Arica Nyamsi: Best unsweetened oat milk matcha EVER! I pass like 23 local coffee shops and go out of my way to get this three times a week. It's just so good! Definitely recommend for matcha lovers. 😋

Kaldi's Coffee Roasting Co. Office & Roastery: what do users think?
Patrick Richmond (Streetcar1664): Thanks to the expansion of Via Metro STL in South County and with the famous Call-a-Ride, now people that may be over 50 can also work for Kaldi's as well as the young.
Scott Perdue: I’ve always wanted to visit the Kaldi’s Roastery and do a cupping and tour, which they do on Friday afternoons. I finally was able to attend on in February 2023. It was even more fantastic than I had imagined. They have occupancy for up to 10, and it’s completely free. Just make a reservation online and you’re good to go.After checking in, I was led into the Cupping Room and introduced to Este and Jake, who are two of the four roasters at Kaldi’s. To think, I’ve drank gallons of coffee that was personally roasted by these two!For the uninitiated, a cupping is a standardized means of tasting and grading coffee, based on its aroma, taste, etc. The preparation method is an immersion style similar to French press, but instead of a plunging filter you just scoop the grounds out carefully with spoons before tasting. So, after 10 minutes of immersion in hot water, you use a spoon to break the top layer of grounds and immediately get your nose in there and give it a good sniff. There were six coffee varieties that we went around the table smelling. After this, Este and Jake carefully removed the grounds with spoons and we were able to taste each of them. Traditionally you just dip a spoon in, sip off the spoon, and then rinse the spoon in water between coffees. Because of COVID, we now use the spoon to scoop some out into a separate cup that we taste out of. No complaints here – I’m all for being more sanitary!Throughout this whole process, Este and Jake shared their expertise and were fascinating to talk to. They both said their go-to is the 700 espresso blend. I like it – especially as far as espresso blends go – but I love the fruitiness of their natural processed single origins.I talked to Este and Jake about my brewing methods and preferred coffee styles and they made personalized recommendations. I was very appreciative that these guys who get to the roastery as early as 5 AM to start heating up the roaster would take their time to give a free tour and answer so many questions. After we finished tasting, we were led to the production area. Amazingly, most of Kaldi’s coffee is roasted on a vintage 1937 Probat roaster – allegedly one of two left in the world. It’s cast iron and every component is as heavy duty as they come. When ready to roast, the green coffee beans get poured into a feeder and then lifted up via auger before falling into the drum. There are two temperature probes inside, one for air temperature and one for bean temperature. The roaster watches the computer very closely as the temperature curves populate the screen. When it gets close, they have their hand on the lever ready to dump the beans, as a few seconds can make a difference. After this, we walked by some of the offices, the Firepot tea room, barista training kitchen, and through a room with an incredible coffee bean mural of St. Louis before finally returning to the lobby as our hour-and-a-half experience came to a close.I loved being surrounded by fellow coffee enthusiasts. If that’s you, know that these are your people and you owe it to yourself to make it out to a Kaldi’s cupping as soon as you can.
rachel yingling: The tech department over at Kaldi's has never done us wrong. Efficient, friendly, extremely well informed AND informative! Sean came a great distance today to bring our shop a new, gorgeous, heartthrob of an espresso machine. During the long wait for this machine, we felt this team was somehow holding their breaths with us from a distance. That is the type of compassion you don't see from every person or team. Today we felt a big sigh of relief and the excitement of a new chapter. I truly feel that that this crew has been rooting for our little shop. It means a lot to all of us.
Gabi Anderson: EPIC customer service, fast shipping & roasting, and altogether great coffee!! Will always love Kaldis!
Brennan Goodman: Accidentally sent me some grounded beans on my first order. Kaldi's is sending me whole beans to correct the order. Great company with awesome customer service. In the meantime, I brewed some of the grounded Birds and Bees and it was still delicious. Roast date matched the shipping date, too, so it's as fresh as you can hope w fast shipping.
Vivien: This is not a cafe!!! This is Kaldi’s office.Don’t try to come to this address to have a cup of coffee!!!
Kurt W.: I RARELY review. Today I accidentally walked into their main office near Vandeventer thinking that it was a cafe. I didn't find what I was looking for (of course) but I must say that the front desk staff was extremely kind. They invited me to have a cup of coffee out of their main lobby and didn't do anything to make me feel uncomfortable about my error. Honestly, simply because of how they treated me, Kaldi Coffee (as of today) will be my "go-to" coffee shop. Don't think for a second that I'm naive. I simply place a great value on how people treat you. If this represents the culture of that company, buy stock. #KaldiForLife
James Mowery: We were in town and was talking to one of the baristas at one of the Kaldi’s Coffee shops, they mentioned the roasting facility does cuppings. It happened to be that day and we made it over for their cupping class. It was very informative and so was the tour. The staff was great!
Thanaphat Chananukul: Good coffee and nice place to chill. I recommend trying the gooey butter cake. Fast service as well.
Doug Porter: The people at Kaldi's are awesome! They are knowledgeable, friendly and fun to hang out with. I went to a cupping event to try a variety of what they offer and was shocked at how unique the flavors were. If you are looking to learn more about coffee or just want to try actually good coffee, check them out! Thanks Kaldi team for making my wife and I feel like family!
Abdullah Alibrahim: The need to learn more about Customer service didn’t feel I’m welcomed at allI drove 2 hr just to get what I’m missing in my coffee shop and they told me you have to call us before
Thomas Bruce (Bubba Corndog): Went to the Friday cupping. Bud and Matt did an awesome job on the teaching aspect of the cupping.
John Kniker: Kaldi's is a real gem in St Louis. Amazing roasts of outstanding coffee for a reasonable price. One of the best third wave shops in the country.
Brian Yost: Absolutely fantastic staff and coffee better than Starbucks!
Mickel Townsend: What I consider to be the best coffee chain in St Louis. Excellent barista's who understand and love the art of making a cup of coffee.
T3- 812: What a wonderful place to do cuppings and a great company! I was a customer before I became a barista through their wonderful training and I must say they love and know their coffee! I would recommend stopping by to do the cuppings it's free and open to the public!
Sara Potter: For the DeMun location: the food, coffee, and service are all fine, and the ambience is lovely, particularly when it's nice enough to sit outside. It is a fantastic place to get together with a friend or two for coffee, dessert, lunch, whatever. If you're going to work there, however, charge up your computer: I was there in early March 2010 and there was exactly one wall plate with four outlets in the entire dining area--and none of the outlets worked. Also, the wifi was hiccupy when I was there; I went through a few different (correctly entered) user names and passwords before giving up and going home. In a way, that's nice--it's not as common to see one person taking up an entire table for hours while staring at his/her computer. Just an FYI.

Oliver Carnazzo: Great coffee and great accessibility! There’s an accessible entrance off Shaw and plenty of tables. If you’re a wheelchair user, the bathroom is spacious, but the location of the sink makes it very difficult to roll up to the side of the toilet for a transfer. Everything else in the bathroom is easily within reach.

Jill Niesman: I love Shaws, wish it was open on Sundays. They understand coffee and make my Breve perfectly everytime without questions. I also buy their beans and loved the all the varieties of roasts I have tried thus far. The shop is an old bank with beautiful wood work and lots of space. It's my go to place if I want a great Breve.
N King: Great coffee, super fun atmosphere but limited food selection, not very friendly staff and they don't take cash. I always tip with cash but never tip when forced to pay with a card and then forced to leave a tip or awkwardly deny a tip. Pay your employees better and then they won't need tips.
Barry G: What a cool coffee shop in the heart of the Hill neighborhood. The coffee was wonderful and they also have real fruit smoothies. Interior decor is great. Looks like it was an old bank building. They still have the safe deposit box room. A decent amout of tables to spread out. Definitely will be back!Parking: Parallel parking on the adjoining streets.

Sump Coffee: what do users think?
Julian Bryan: Awesome coffee!!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
switching “visible swager” fishbites: Great coffeehouse all around, but I'd like to focus on their espresso. They are incredibly unique because of their espresso. If you're an espresso lover who struggles to find a coffee shop pulling espresso that's flavorful and interesting congratulations on your good fortune at finding Sump. If you find the idea of consuming a plain espresso shot gross than forget all you think you know about what espresso shots are supposed to taste like and give Sump a try. They always give you multiple options of different espresso beans to try, and regularly switch out these options. Oh btw try all their pastries, they're amazing too.
Yael Paley: Loved Sump! Have been hearing great things and finally checked them out. Friendly service, nice patio outdoor seating, and truly scrumptious caffeinated beverages!
Chris Luth: There is no shortage of top-notch third wave coffee shops in the St. Louis metro area, but this one tops them all. This is one of the best roasters in the Midwest, if not the country. I’ve only explored their house espresso blend, but it is absolutely amazing, with absolutely the perfect balance of acidity, fruitiness, and floral notes to drink on its own or to punch through a little bit of steamed milk. The drinks crafted at the coffee bar are incredible. Every shot I’ve ever had a barista pull here has been perfection, and the milk is always impeccably textured. I think this may very well be the best cortado on the planet. And while it is almost a travesty to cover up the flavor of the coffee with anything else, the specialty beverages are always interesting and worth a try.Always my go-to shop when I’m in STL—it’s hard to stop myself at three beverages here and not walk out with a suitcase full of beans!
Coffee And Smoke: First off,I understand that coffee is a wildly subjective topic and it can get very complex, with that said I was disappointed with me 2nd experience with buying Sump whole beans (melting darkness roast).I purchased these same beans about 2 yrs ago and liked them enough so I figured I'd try them again since I ran out of my usual beans plus I like to support local whenever able..This time around the beans seemed vastly different. The roast appeared much lighter than before, which I'm aware that Sump roasts on the lighter end of the spectrum so I wasn't expecting some charred Starbucks like roast, especially since I've purchased this same roast in the past. There was also a lot of chaff and drastic inconsistencies in the bean size and color.I have a relatively expensive and good quality home grinder (flat burr) and I maxed out the fineness on my grinder and it still wasn't fine enough to dial this bean in.I have a step less adjustment grinder and have never had this problem with any other bean before.I can't explain what the issue is this time..

I also got some tasty banana chocolate cookies, which come in a 4-pack.Love the vibe inside, and there’s plenty of seating outside at tables. Will definitely be back!Update 3/31/23:Still one of my favorites in Stl! Love the new Tagalong coffee. Sadly the Ethiopian beans I bought from here recently were too hard for my burr grinder and jammed it. Still love the coffee shop though!

Rodolfo Ploder: Excellent coffee and light food
Justin Hagen: I order their 2lb bag single origin subscription online and have it shipped fresh to my home. Fine coffee beans roasted to perfection(not dark roast). Always excellent variety in shipments yet honor requests for flavor profiles. Responsive friendly customer service…if you need your coffee sooner for example:-). What a great team! Their coffee options in the cafe are awesome as well!
Benjamin Hart: Excellent cappuccino!

Chris Miller: Cute local coffee shop. Great staff and coffee.Recommended dishes 12oz Hot Filtered Coffee …More
Aaron Abodeely: Small space but modern minimalist feel with its bathrooms located so that you have to walk right past the roasters making their beans. Quality oat milk cappuccino and had a nice laptop session working at their tall-seated counter near the wall.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Christopher: Industrial chic roastery with quality coffee drinks, teas, and savory / sweet offerings. Great place to meet with friends or get some work done.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Turmeric Tonic …More
Lacey Ramirez: Serious coffee, grungy studious vibe, and their tomato feta scone was delicious. I came here with my dad (a fellow coffee enthusiast and professor at SIU) and we both agreed it was a great coffeeshop to go to on a Sunday morning.
Kayla Hipp: Chill vibe, delicious coffee and the breakfast sandwich was 10/10. Usually the breakfast sandwiches at coffee shop are prepackaged Starbucks quality—not the case here! The biscuit was amazing! The egg was fresh and perfectly seasoned! The savory jam tied the whole thing together! I’ll be dreaming about this coffee and sandwich combo until j can come back to St Louis.
sierra rowan: It's very simple, barebones coffee. It's the kind of place hipsters love. Just very basic drinks with quality ingredients in only 1 size. But there's no beating the taste here. This is good coffee.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Paul Leason: Coffee and food were great. The pumpkin latte I got was next level! The sandwich was also good, there’s a tomato jam inside that really kicked off the flavor. Seating is really limited, on top of that a lot of people in there working on laptops so it’d be nice to see them fill in the back of the cafe with an actual work station rather than up front seating. Just a thought.
Angela Ellis: Great tea & coffee. It's like a coffee shop dive. Worth a visit while on the Delmar Loop.Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

Thomas Coffee Co: what do users think?
Matthew Matheny: Amazing coffee. Customer service is great, orders are always promptly shipped, and it’s nice to support a small business. Went to college in STL and fell in love with this coffee. I’ve moved all over the US but still order this coffee no matter where I live.
Garret Hayes: Every time I go to the grocery store I pick some up, it's basically a staple at my house.
Robin Wheelus: Awesome prices, great selection. I've re-ordered the Chocolate Raspberry several times.
Craig Usher: Great coffee and friendly staff
Noelle Visconti: This company goes over and beyond and is the true definition of why small businesses matter. A friend of mine LOVES Thomas Coffee and used to sell it in his place of business years ago. He still drinks it everyday and talks about the company and their customer service to this day. Ed and David were so kind to help me make his Birthday very special, even taking the time to sign and personalize a card for him (the whole team left kind words for him 💗.) Thomas Coffee team, you made my friend's special day even more special and your Coffee rocks! Thank you. ☕😁
Craig Stonis: I purchased coffee on their website, it came quickly and was delicious. I'm glad I read the 2 star review, it shows this company handles adversity and nonsense customers with class and respect. bravo!
Davein STL: Beat coffee ever!
Lisa Kuehne: the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. the place smells amazing. I love local plaes with history and its worth a stop in for some great coffee.
Joseph Fonville: Good coffee
osman sumic: Really nice people at receiving!!!
Jared Welton: Best coffee in the STL, cant wait to go to their store front and buy some of their other coffee products
Darlene Brockmeyer: The coffee tastes good but expensive if ordering. The first order I placed one of the cans was damaged to the point of breaking the seal. They replaced it. The second order 3 of the 6 cans had dents.Again complaining I was told, just like the first, it was damaged in shipping. No way! Both orders were double boxed. They were sent to me that way on purpose. They cannot sell these damaged cans in the grocery stores without giving the customer a discount, as they are damaged. Customers are now aware of company mess ups.And they knew it. No way did they not know it. So was it because I am out of state? I say yes. Think about it. If things can be shipped all the way from China and arrive safely why can't their products arrive the same way? Shame on them!No excuses and no explainations necessary! Correct your problem.
Brent Trauterman: Nice coffee. I can't judge how it will be if you buy it from the grocery store, but, if you go to the roaster and purchase it is fresh.
Elizabeth Twente: Great coffee
Jason F: Local and make some of the best coffee available!
Carol Fuhr: I've been getting my coffee here for years. Roasted on site. Excellent quality and the prices are excellent, too. My faves are Rwanda and La Magnolia.
Joseph Turner: Great local coffee. Great customer service -I had what I thought was a bad batch of coffee. Contacted Thomas Coffee via their website and had a reply in 1 day stating to bring the coffee by for an exchange. You are top notch Thomas Coffee. Special thanks to Dave for explaining it was most likely my brewer and not the coffee (still exchanged it).
michele koester: Absolutely love this coffee.. Sell it in Denver pleaae
Tracy Chappell: The best flavored coffee I have ever had. My favorite is the Hazelnut Cinnamon. The decaf is water processed and is delicious!
John Hanson: Some of the best coffee you've ever drank
