El Burro Loco: what do users think?
Rex Berry: The food was good, and I enjoyed the setting. It was busy, but not completely full. It was hard to get service, and we had to wait probably 20 minutes to order after we had our drinks, then when finished, it took about another 30 minutes to get our ticket. Then they took forever to get my card back to me. They were not that busy.

Tasha B: UPDATE May 2023: Reducing my rating because I tried to order carry out yesterday by calling and they hung up the phone in my face 3 times. They do not have a good system for ordering takeout and their restaurant is very busy and noisy and they cannot hear well on their line. They use delivery services for delivery, which may be a fine experience, but takeout is awful. As a result, I searched and found another Mexican restaurant (in Richmond Heights) and had GREAT service and GREAT birria tacos. I likely will not be going back to El Burro Loco after the experience yesterday.PRIOR REVIEW:The food was delicious! Loved the tamales and the chimichanga. Would have liked cilantro and onion with the birria tacos, but they were still excellent. My only complaint is the low quality serving ware. I’m fine with plastic ware, just give me good quality, sturdy plastic ware. Spend a little bit extra and go to Sam’s or Costco and get the better quality serving ware. I’ll be back, but I might bring my own serving ware.

David Kennedy: The service was great, the food not so much. Also, I don't use plastic utensils at home, I sure don't want to use them in a restaurant. The food was ok, but definitely the worst mexican food I've had in st. Louos.

Mallorie Bitzer: Run from this place!!!We had dinner here on 5/28/2023. When we first entered almost every table around the table they sat us at was dirty. There was only 1 guy bussing the tables but very slowly. He would stop and play on his phone in the middle of the restaurant and after he bussed the tables he never wiped any of them off!!!The dirty tables were all around the restaurant. It was not busy at all while we were there. We saw multiple male waiters literally leaning on the dirty tables with dishes even on them playing on their phones instead of helping clean anything up in the restaurant. They also have a portable air conditioner Right now, which is not a problem. But what the male waiters were doing in front of the AC was pretty disgusting while we were eating. They kept putting their faces, hair and bodies right in front of the Machine that was right next to our table!!The best part was all the dirt and trash on the floor. One guy noticed the rug RIGHT next to the air conditioner that leads into the kitchen looked dirty so he decided to clean it! He literally picked up the rug right in the restaurant and shook it out!!! Mind you that rug was like 6 ft from our table! My husband felt the dirt and debris hitting his legs and a waitress was bringing food out from the kitchen while all this was happening!!! By that point we already had our food and we could no longer eat!The pastor tacos are horrible as well!Pictures taken from our table.1st photo: Busser leaning on a dirty table taking a phone break while in the middle of clearing tables. You can also see the black rug on the floor that was shaken out.2nd photo: all those tables had been clearedBut the chairs never pushed in , floor not swept or tables wiped off. You can also see that there should be no reason for this since they were not busy!3rd photo: Showing the dirty table behind us that was never cleaned the whole time we were there.I wish we took more photos but we were on vacation with 3 kids and didn’t want to ruin the night complaining.I will add that we had the only female waitress that we noticed and she was very friendly and the only one that actually looked like she was working!
Trent Garrett: The service was subpar. The server seemed more concerned with himself than he was about his customers. The food made it to the table fairly quickly, but it was far from authentic Latino fare. The layout of the restaurant led me to expect a spectacular experience. It was not all that. I frequently visit Latino restaurants wherever I travel. This restaurant was downtown St. Louis, how disappointing. I would highly recommend the Latino restaurant in Pointe Clear, AL over this place. I spent over $60 if you include the tip and the whole experience may not have been worth $30. P.S.- I left the extra guacamole I ordered and it wasn't worth returning for.Vegetarian options: The Vege options sound good, but it left much to be desired.
Thomas Christensen: Food was just okay, but the margarita options were great. The atmosphere is pretty rough though, went for lunch and there were people clearly on drugs making out behind us. They didn’t order any food or drinks, staff just didn’t want to deal with them.
Shane Smith: Great food, great fun, great time

Madeline Eschbacher: Good food and drink but, service is lacking.I walked in a little after 1 pm to a nearly empty restaurant - except for maybe 2 2-tops and 4 bar patrons. After waiting 5 minutes at the host stand for no one to come, I helped myself to a menu and a seat at the bar.The bartender was gossiping with some other patrons (who were apparently friends) about some fight that broke out at a recent concert or festival - in his words, he was “so invested!”A couple minutes later he asked if I had been helped yet, at which point I admitted to seating myself since there was no host or other acknowledgement. He hurriedly asked if I wanted anything to drink besides water; I ordered a margarita - which he did have made pretty quickly, but not before continuing the convo with his friends. He took my order (almost for the wrong item but I caught it), rang it in, then continued conversing with his friends on upcoming festivals, where to get the best shrooms, and how he “met the devil” on one of his psychedelic trips. And hey, I’m not judging, do what you want in your free time - but your place of employment around paying customers is probably not the time or place. My food was brought out by another staff member, and the bartender could not be bothered to check in until I sat my card at the edge of the bar, ready to pay. The food was fine, but some utensils would have been nice! (I also got my own napkins.)All in all, it was just a rushed and not very inviting experience - especially for the price ($37+ for 1 drink, 1 entree, and a side of elote)
Dea' Vault: The customer service was absolutely horrible and they were so rude. Then the food was not up to standards at all. I been getting food from this place for yearrsssss and tonight was not it. I got the Arroz con pollo and it was a sloppy mess and barely any cheese.
John Myers: We came in with a very large group, and they accommodated us. We did have a little wait. It is kind of downtown in a rough area. Great food incredible service.
Ryan Hall: Food was poor no flavor order came out wrong waiter didn’t even write our order down had to get waiter to get our check. Just bad
A STEED: Best thing was the premium margaritas. Food had small portions, unseasoned and had my stomach hurting after. While the chips and salsa are complimentary, it was the main motivator to finish our meal so we could keep snacking on them! Service was amazing as per usual. The workers are nice and polite. Only downside was the acoustics inside made it hard to hear each other. Chava's is normally bustling with people, especially around dinnertime.

Ok (pronounced oak) was fantastic. We took home the beef fried tacos for mom-in-law and she loved them too. We will definitely go back here.

Rachel S: The menu seems more unique than a lot of typical Mexican places (for example, their beans are served with more solid bits rather than completely blended, the salsa has a smoky flavor, etc). Just small things that make it stand out. Staff were quick and friendly. It was very busy the night that we went but we were still seated quickly and food came out fast.

SURESTE Mexican: what do users think?
Warren Popp: It is exceptionally fine cuisine. The ceviche was pushing it on spice level for me, but I still added some of their spicy habanero sauce they offer on the side because it enhanced an already powerful flavor profile. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Jennifer Allen: The molotes de jalapeño y queso were so soooo good! Exactly what vegetarian food should be! The textures and flavor were spot on!
Andreas Apostolopoulos: Mind bending and possibly life altering Castacán Tacos bursting with flavors of Mexico's Yucatán!Crispy, crunch, fresh, and VIBRANT flavors abound with chunks of crispy rich pork belly, pickled tomatillos, radish, achiote oil, cilantro, and lime on heirloom hand made blue corn tortillas. Oh and a TINY thumb sized cup of charred habanero salsa that melts your face off in volumes of a drop. 👌#STL #MO
Nina Garcia: I have never had a meal that impacted my life so thoroughly. After eating at Sur Este my boyfriend and I learned to make our own tortillas and have been learning about Yucatán cuisine. Idk what else to say, this is maybe the best food experience I have ever had! Who knew you could do so much with corn!Dietary restrictions: Dairy free and gluten free options!!!!
Matthew Montoya Rush: Best Mexican food in St Louis! Every time we visit the City Foundry, we have to stop by Sureste. With wonderful, hand-made meals, you will always find something to satisfy your taste buds. Try the Sikil Pak - it is my go to!
Sarah Krawczyk: Ordered the quesadilla. It was a BEAUTIFUL work of art, but just did not taste good. It was un edible due to how hard the tortilla was and how burned it tasted. I've never seen this type of corn tortilla that was used so maybe that is how it is supposed to be but I think a more detailed menu description might solve the problem as the menu just says corn tortilla, I was expecting a standard corn tortilla.
Travis Harland: Order fish tacos. The taste smell and flavor were all negative. I would highly recommend dropping this off the menu. Gave me the feeling of eating candy cat food on under cooked tortilla. I couldn't even finish one taco due to everything being negative. Also very disappointed in the cost to proportion ratio.Kid-friendliness: Fish tacos are not kid friendly. Small very strongly of fish in a bad way. The proportions are not justified by the cost .
Kevin B: I just did not like this place. I got a quesadilla but as you can see, it’s far from what you think when you order a quesadilla. The tortilla was really crispy like a cracker. The guacamole was good but there is no option for size. The container could have easily fed 4 people. I ended up wasting most of bc you can’t really carry it around there. Also, the chips were very bland and needed salt. I probably will not be back….
Nicholas DiCesare: The pavo (turkey) tacos have so much flavor. The cochinita pibil (pork) tacos are just as good. It’s hard to decide what to get here because everything is 🔥.
Jer Wilcoxen: This kitchen in the STL Foundry food hall makes some astoundingly good tacos and sides, packed with flavor; real, next level tacos. Unfortunately, I don't think much of their tamales; the masa is dry, dense, and thick without ample filling. I can't say enough about those tacos, though (any of them).Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Roasted Fish, Cochinita Pibil Tacos, Pavo En Chilmole Tacos, Taco, Castacan Tacos …More
Anna Ortiz-Aragon: AMAZING!!! First of all the home made chips are to die for. The guacamole is 🔥🔥🔥. The black beans are such an incredible flavor! I had the vegetarian tacos & all the fixing were fantastic. Will defiantly be back again! Can’t wait to try the horchata!Recommended dishes Guacamole & Chips, Rice & Beans, Taco …More
Brian Adler: We did not enjoy the two different taco dishes we ordered, and we are generally not hard to please with Mexican food. It was expensive, way over cooked, and had way too much salt (not to mention unevenly spread). On top of that, the service was just downright unfriendly. I managed to order and pick up my food without a staff member saying a single word to me. Will not go again.
Mary Young: Best pork belly tacos EVER!
Katie Dundon: So delicious! This was our second time to the foundry. My husband and I shared chips and guacamole, a pork tamale, and the pork belly tacos. Absolutely fantastic flavor on all of these! We also had a side of some delicious hot sauce that was a little too spicy for us but we kept eating it because it was so good. Definitely going to be coming back here and trying more delicious food. Everyone was super nice and eager to hear our thoughts. Highly recommend!!
Jose Artiaga IV: #3 Castacan Tacos were the best tacos I've ever eaten. Ever.I'm serious. The best. Ever.Vegetarian options: The beet tacos were fantastic. I also think the Castacan would be amazing even without the crispy pork, the radishes were really phenomenal.
Midwest Twisters: We had the Pork Belly Tacos, by far, the best Tacos we have ever had! Full stop!!!!!We will be back!
Christopher Galli: Locally sourced food, can't wait. All the best!
Meghan Lyn: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes More
Spencer Hanning: Authentic, from scratch, homestyle Mexican food! These folks are serving it up right!I had the chorizo con Papa tacos and was very much satisfied! Delicious! I suggest dropping by for lunch!*UPDATE* HOLY TAMAL COLADOThis thing was righteous!
George Sackett: The City Foundry is an interesting place. A collection of "takeout" restaurants not unlike the old food courts at a mall BUT a much more upscale experience. Chef Alex, at Sureste served us a fantastic meal. We ordered two different tacos, cochinita pibil tacos and panuchos. Both were fantastic and full of flavor if a little messy. The two tacos each were more than enough for a meal but we splurged and also got a machete which was gorgeous to behold and also delicious. Let me put it this way. I turned many heads as I walked to our table. I even had people come up to our table and ask which restaurant provided us our meal and they went directly to Sureste to order their own.Besides being a wonderful chef, Alex is a wonderful person. We are excited to see him doing so well and look forward to the opening his own location.

The Korean flavors are spot on, the kimchi, rice and pork combo in a burrito is strange but very delicious and satisfying. The pork was the only meat I had, but I had ordered it multiple times because it was just so darn good. Also, the queso is absolutely amazing. Cody Cummings: Seoul Tacos is one of the few lunch spots open on Mondays, and it’s a pretty quick way to get a lot of tasty food quickly if you’re limited on time. Parking is a challenge, but if you live or work around the grove then it’s an easy option. I tried the spicy pork burrito and my wife got the Gogi bowl with steak. The spicy pork burrito was packed with flavor, and everything was fairly balanced in a way that each bite tasted the same, unlike other burrito places that seem to find a way to give you pockets of differing flavors. The Gogi bowls are pretty big, and the meat portion is generous. The egg was unforgivably fully cooked, so there was no mixing the yolk into the rice, but other then that it was pretty delicious. The waffle fries are some of the best sweet potato fries I’ve had in the city, and while I initially balked at the price, I was happy with the investment in the end. Pro tip: get some gochujang on the side for the fries, and thank me later.
Anirudh Ashok: Was recommended this place by a friend.Got the Gogi bowl with tofu and fried rice and the sweet potato waffle fries. Great fried rice and the gojuchang paste was really tasty and spicy. The sweet potato fries were really delicious. The only problem we had with this place was that almost everything had eggs mixed into it and my girlfriend could not eat anything but the sweet potato waffle fries with sriracha sauce. Wish they had a vegan substitute for these sauces. A tough place to find anything to eat for vegan food enthusiasts. Would definitely recommend visiting at least once if you’re in St. Louis. The ambience was great and the staff were really nice and courteous!

Zach King: Update 2023: This place has taken a full 180 from a year ago. Workers are great, inviting and the food is more consistent than ever.Update: Food seems to be more consistent now with each time I order. This Seoul Taco is by far the worst Seoul Taco location all caused by the staff not caring and obviously management not doing anything about it. I have been to this location for probably close to 200 times and I always get the same thing, a gogi bowl. The only consistent thing about it is that the meat is always seasoned well (the reason I keep coming back) other than that the bowls are never the same. They always pre cook the eggs so they end up being a hard egg, not the sunny side up as it should be. Out of those 200 times I have ordered this bowl I always get it with Seoul sauce, out of those times they have not put it on the bowl at least 150 of those orders. They also have the audacity to charge 50 cents for a tablespoon of that sauce that you may or may not get. I truly think that if the owner would audit this location he would be deeply upset with the quality of food that is coming out of there.

Mission Taco Joint - Delmar Loop: what do users think?
Jakob Barker: The food was great just like the last 10 times, definitely enjoy my Cail Burrito. The atmosphere is always that of a good place to have a margarita or three after walking the loop. However, this time, our server was terrible. She spent most of her time hanging out with the bartender, and rarely did she come over to our table. The table next to us got their drinks food and check well before our table despite our table having already ordered when they showed up. It was mildly frustrating.

Danger Dest: Updating my 5 star review, 6 years later. Sadly this place has gone down hill. I went for lunch today for the first time in years and sadly it's not the MTJ I raved about before. The environment was sticky and grimey, dirty menus and utensils, the food was lukewarm at best, the queso was cold and gloopy and a completely different recipe from the amazing queso they had here years before. The burrito was barely warm and full of fat. On top of that everything is very bland now. I used to come here all the time with my husband for the $2 taco and tequila hour but I don't think I'll ever come back. The food is mid now at best and there are better places to eat on the loop.Original review ---The Baja fried fish Taco will change ya life 👌😫 Pardon my pun, but I'm hooked. If you're in St.Louis and want Mexican food look no further.

Jackson Nance: Mission Taco was very good. I got the Mango Habanero Shrimp, hot chicken, and Yucetean York tacos. They were fresh, not to messy, and surprisingly filling. I will definitely go back when I’m in the St. Louis area
rachael b: Great margs and homemade salsa. I've tried everything from the burritos to the tacos to the sandwiches and never been disappointed. Try the Brah'rito if you're extra hungry!
Bob Braun: Food was bland, guacamole was pre-made ( from a can?). Street corn was horrible.
Jacob Krutulis: Thankful for late night bites like this! Great service, flavor packed food!

Jaime Odom: I can see the concept of where they're trying to go with the food. But don't call it something everyone expects and it comes out completely different. You can't call something a surf and turf and bring out egg rolls and french fries. The food was decent, but someone forgot the salt. I'm not a big salt person, I'd be the first to say something is too salty, but don't forget the compliments when preparing the food (salt and pepper). There were four adults, including me, sitting at my table. Not one of us agreed we liked the food. We all ordered something different, too. If we ever did try this place again, (I always give restaurants second, maybe third chances), we'd go to a different location. The service was decent, too.
Parker Kelley: No. No. No. We visited this location while visiting St. Louis, after hearing such wonderful reviews about this place. The overall experience was not good, and was very disappointing. I will say this upfront… they were obviously understaffed, and the waitress we had was working very hard and was very kind. However…We were seated immediately and placed our order promptly. We waited a long time before our food was delivered to our table, and when it finally arrived… it was cold. We ordered tacos, three different varieties of meat. It was all cold. The meat in the tacos was ice cold all the way through. We ate the tacos we had already started with, but sent the others back to be taken off of our bill. The waitress was very nice and offered to have them remade, but of course we did not want that. The churros were not much else but greasy fried dough. Hardly any filling and just entirely too greasy. They were at least warm. There were several staff members who were very obviously sick, and were coughing constantly throughout our time inside the restaurant. I observed a lot of uncovered coughing and no hand-washing. The bartender had a horrible cough but continued to make drinks while doing so. This was very disturbing. After researching this restaurant and thinking this was going to be a wonderful lunch, it was nothing else but disappointment. We will not re-visit this restaurant.
Jeremy Brunk: I ordered tacos that had some sort of sauce that contained mayonnaise/miracle whip *they're the same thing* which mayonnaise/miracle whip is my mortal enemy because it's the grossest thing ever. Don't argue. It's just animal fat and eggs. Did i eat these tacos? I ate that those tacos and didn't give af that nasty lard was in there.

kay riddle: My son and I sat at the counter. Great taco salad. It was great to find this free parking, if why we looked for this restaurant. In the area it's not easy to park. We were delighted to find this clean place to eat Mexican food. Yum.Parking: Parking lot in around to the back. Thank you for free parking in this area. Great food. Spanish/English is a little difficult for this English only speaking old gal but it was all good. Great people.

Cristal Luna: The restaurant was completely packed when I walked in. I had no issues with a long wait, it was to be expected. I stood at the register for 30 mins, I was never greeted or asked if I needed anything. Being that it was busy I didn’t want to take it personal. What upset me was when 3 people, yes 3 people who walked in after me had their order taken. All whom were Spanish speaking people. At first I thought they had online or pickup orders but that wasn’t the case. They all placed orders and then exchanged money. Finally a women decided to take my order and I went to sit down. As I approached the table my bf explained how another table was ignored multiple times and had to ask the staff if someone was going to help them. This table was there before we arrived. I continued to watch them bring chips and continue to ignore not only my table my bf had been sitting at but the other table that complained. I’m very understanding to restaurant staff. I’m also the LAST person to pull the race card. But when I see you give good service and attention to Hispanic and white people and ignore African Americans, it’s sad in 2023 we have to have this conversation and it’s disgusting. I will never come back to this place. I also saw one of the waitresses touch food to see if it hot with her fingers after dealing with money. And to top it off this was some of the nastiest Mexican food I’ve had. These were the worst fries, street tacos and queso I’ve ever had. My bf ordered a steak quesadilla that wasn’t tasty. Don’t waste your time or money coming here.

Fonda La Poblanita: what do users think?
R Cusick: I used to live near here and never got to try their food, so I stopped in yesterday when I was in the area. The space is pleasing, with a menu that has plenty of variety plus there are specials posted on a chalkboard. They have huge water glasses, which is a bonus for the "heavy drinkers" like me. 💧 I ordered two al pastor tacos and one barbacoa. My food arrived quickly and that server (a different one than the person who had taken my order) asked if I'd like salsa. I said sure, then he offered chips! I said sure again. He brought salsa verde and yellow corn tortilla chips. He warned me that the salsa was hot and he wasn't kidding--but at the same time it was totally addictive. I probably ate 3/4 of the small bowl of salsa, and it was hot enough to clear my sinuses. The tacos were delicious and authentic, made with two corn tortillas and dressed only with onions and cilantro. The pork al pastor was simply delicious, and even tastier with a bit of the salsa. The lamb barbacoa was surprisingly chewy, verging on tough, but was quite tasty. The servers took turns checking on me. I was extremely happy with my meal and nearly did a double take when I saw the bill--$10! I felt full and satisfied. I felt like I was underpaying, so I tipped well. I'll definitely be back!Vegetarian options: They make vegetarian items with squash, which is unusual and cool!Kid-friendliness: There was a kids menu.

Johnny G: If you can overlook the esthetics, this place offers insane bang for your buck for authentic Mexican. None of that Tex-Mex stuff found here.
Johanna Quezada: If you're looking for truly authentic & good Mexican food, give them a try. Overall pretty good. The only thing I wouldn't recommend are the tripa tacos because the tripa didnt seem well cleaned to me.
Michelle Cisco: I ordered on ubers eat. Kinda late and order the steak (carne asada) with no sour cream, with extra salsa. We got a burrito instead. And when I went to call they turned there order service off. I called twice. We was not happy with the service.

Mission Taco Joint - Historic Soulard: what do users think?
Collin Owens: Good food, unique flavors, friendly service… The three little piggies burrito was pretty good, it’s a big burrito! Guacamole was a great flavor. We enjoyed our visit. Sadly, they do not have sweet tea.
Mia Kaplan: this is definitely the best mission taco location in st. louis, if you're deciding between this one and another go with this one for sure. staff is friendly and all of the food is amazing! this might be my favorite restaurant in all of st. louis.Recommended dishes Queso Con Chorizo, Chips & Salsa, Hot Fried Chicken …More
Cari Morales: I honestly do not understand how this has the ratings it has... The atmosphere is cute and the staff are friendly but the food was just super disappointing. Our guacamole was black/brown as if it was sitting out for a long time and my tacos were cold and the fried chicken for the hot chicken tacos were dry and stale. Overall, did not enjoy our experience here since the food was disappointing. We didn't get drinks here but maybe they were better than the food (at least I hope they are). Can't genuinely recommend this place, unfortunately.
Cody Cummings: Mission Taco fits in really well in Soulard. The vibe is fun and lively. The bartenders and waitstaff are friendly, and the food is amazing. I’ve tried almost all the tacos here and while my favorite is the BBQ duck, I’ve never had one that I didn’t want to try again. If you want the full experience, you have to get the street corn off the cob. It’s an excellent side that is cooked to perfection. Don’t confuse them with the street corn fritters, while also very tasty, they aren’t are magical as regular street corn.
Zak S: It's just okay these days. I feel like they've really started resting on their laurels and playing it safe with the same tacos and burritos that have been there for years. The service is good, but holy hell is it loud no matter where you sit with very little attempt to break the noise up at all.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Nic C: I heard that the food was good here but the taco I got was kind of flavorless and the carne fries were overcooked and not very appetizing.
