SURESTE Mexican: what do users think?
Warren Popp: It is exceptionally fine cuisine. The ceviche was pushing it on spice level for me, but I still added some of their spicy habanero sauce they offer on the side because it enhanced an already powerful flavor profile. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Jennifer Allen: The molotes de jalapeño y queso were so soooo good! Exactly what vegetarian food should be! The textures and flavor were spot on!
Andreas Apostolopoulos: Mind bending and possibly life altering Castacán Tacos bursting with flavors of Mexico's Yucatán!Crispy, crunch, fresh, and VIBRANT flavors abound with chunks of crispy rich pork belly, pickled tomatillos, radish, achiote oil, cilantro, and lime on heirloom hand made blue corn tortillas. Oh and a TINY thumb sized cup of charred habanero salsa that melts your face off in volumes of a drop. 👌#STL #MO
Nina Garcia: I have never had a meal that impacted my life so thoroughly. After eating at Sur Este my boyfriend and I learned to make our own tortillas and have been learning about Yucatán cuisine. Idk what else to say, this is maybe the best food experience I have ever had! Who knew you could do so much with corn!Dietary restrictions: Dairy free and gluten free options!!!!
Matthew Montoya Rush: Best Mexican food in St Louis! Every time we visit the City Foundry, we have to stop by Sureste. With wonderful, hand-made meals, you will always find something to satisfy your taste buds. Try the Sikil Pak - it is my go to!
Sarah Krawczyk: Ordered the quesadilla. It was a BEAUTIFUL work of art, but just did not taste good. It was un edible due to how hard the tortilla was and how burned it tasted. I've never seen this type of corn tortilla that was used so maybe that is how it is supposed to be but I think a more detailed menu description might solve the problem as the menu just says corn tortilla, I was expecting a standard corn tortilla.
Travis Harland: Order fish tacos. The taste smell and flavor were all negative. I would highly recommend dropping this off the menu. Gave me the feeling of eating candy cat food on under cooked tortilla. I couldn't even finish one taco due to everything being negative. Also very disappointed in the cost to proportion ratio.Kid-friendliness: Fish tacos are not kid friendly. Small very strongly of fish in a bad way. The proportions are not justified by the cost .
Kevin B: I just did not like this place. I got a quesadilla but as you can see, it’s far from what you think when you order a quesadilla. The tortilla was really crispy like a cracker. The guacamole was good but there is no option for size. The container could have easily fed 4 people. I ended up wasting most of bc you can’t really carry it around there. Also, the chips were very bland and needed salt. I probably will not be back….
Nicholas DiCesare: The pavo (turkey) tacos have so much flavor. The cochinita pibil (pork) tacos are just as good. It’s hard to decide what to get here because everything is 🔥.
Jer Wilcoxen: This kitchen in the STL Foundry food hall makes some astoundingly good tacos and sides, packed with flavor; real, next level tacos. Unfortunately, I don't think much of their tamales; the masa is dry, dense, and thick without ample filling. I can't say enough about those tacos, though (any of them).Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Roasted Fish, Taco, Cochinita Pibil Tacos, Pavo En Chilmole Tacos, Castacan Tacos …More
Anna Ortiz-Aragon: AMAZING!!! First of all the home made chips are to die for. The guacamole is 🔥🔥🔥. The black beans are such an incredible flavor! I had the vegetarian tacos & all the fixing were fantastic. Will defiantly be back again! Can’t wait to try the horchata!Recommended dishes Guacamole & Chips, Rice & Beans, Taco …More
Brian Adler: We did not enjoy the two different taco dishes we ordered, and we are generally not hard to please with Mexican food. It was expensive, way over cooked, and had way too much salt (not to mention unevenly spread). On top of that, the service was just downright unfriendly. I managed to order and pick up my food without a staff member saying a single word to me. Will not go again.
Mary Young: Best pork belly tacos EVER!
Katie Dundon: So delicious! This was our second time to the foundry. My husband and I shared chips and guacamole, a pork tamale, and the pork belly tacos. Absolutely fantastic flavor on all of these! We also had a side of some delicious hot sauce that was a little too spicy for us but we kept eating it because it was so good. Definitely going to be coming back here and trying more delicious food. Everyone was super nice and eager to hear our thoughts. Highly recommend!!
Kevin: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Jose Artiaga IV: #3 Castacan Tacos were the best tacos I've ever eaten. Ever.I'm serious. The best. Ever.Vegetarian options: The beet tacos were fantastic. I also think the Castacan would be amazing even without the crispy pork, the radishes were really phenomenal.
Midwest Twisters: We had the Pork Belly Tacos, by far, the best Tacos we have ever had! Full stop!!!!!We will be back!
Christopher Galli: Locally sourced food, can't wait. All the best!
Meghan Lyn: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes More
Spencer Hanning: Authentic, from scratch, homestyle Mexican food! These folks are serving it up right!I had the chorizo con Papa tacos and was very much satisfied! Delicious! I suggest dropping by for lunch!*UPDATE* HOLY TAMAL COLADOThis thing was righteous!
George Sackett: The City Foundry is an interesting place. A collection of "takeout" restaurants not unlike the old food courts at a mall BUT a much more upscale experience. Chef Alex, at Sureste served us a fantastic meal. We ordered two different tacos, cochinita pibil tacos and panuchos. Both were fantastic and full of flavor if a little messy. The two tacos each were more than enough for a meal but we splurged and also got a machete which was gorgeous to behold and also delicious. Let me put it this way. I turned many heads as I walked to our table. I even had people come up to our table and ask which restaurant provided us our meal and they went directly to Sureste to order their own.Besides being a wonderful chef, Alex is a wonderful person. We are excited to see him doing so well and look forward to the opening his own location.

aimee radford: I ordered the Chava's Quesedilla, and it was amazing as always. It is such a great amount of food for your value, as well as the quality. While the chips and salsa are complimentary, it was the main motivator to finish our meal so we could keep snacking on them! Service was amazing as per usual. The workers are nice and polite. Only downside was the acoustics inside made it hard to hear each other. Chava's is normally bustling with people, especially around dinnertime.

Julie Creech: Loved loved loved everything! (but the rice was not my favorite) We had the chicken fajitas and chimichanga. The chips and salsa were great. They also have happy hour 4 to 6. The margaritas🍹 were made with real fruit 😋 so good. We tried pineapple, cherry 🍒, blueberry and he had orange 🍊. They do frozen or on the rocks and you can mix two flavors. Ok (pronounced oak) was fantastic. We took home the beef fried tacos for mom-in-law and she loved them too. We will definitely go back here.
Eric Montalvo: Food was okay. The place looks really nice.Food: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
laurent ROMAGNANI: Parfait 👍Service super et nourriture très bonne
Rachel S: The menu seems more unique than a lot of typical Mexican places (for example, their beans are served with more solid bits rather than completely blended, the salsa has a smoky flavor, etc). Just small things that make it stand out. Staff were quick and friendly. It was very busy the night that we went but we were still seated quickly and food came out fast.

Lakeside Café at Saint Louis Zoo: what do users think?
Rick Krueger: Service extremely slow waited almost 30 minutes for 2 orders of pancakes and they were like rubber
Emory Kempf: Eat here if it prevents you from getting too hungry while at the zoo. The food is poor, and that’s unfortunate. Surely there’s not a law that says the food at a zoo should be both expensive and have poor taste.
Marina Pursley: My husband and I stopped in to get an early lunch before we kept exploring the rest of the zoo. Food was tasty and service was fast. As always 😁
Logan B: One of the slowest lines I’ve ever been in. Half the customers left after waiting too long and that’s the only reason it got shorter. It was almost impressive how little the line moved.
Alex Burks: Not the worst food, but mediocre to the point of being inedible. Great zoo, deserves better food. I say that they should feed the current stock to the animals and reconfigure the menu. : - )
pamela Davenport: The food is delicious there and that's a family place to goKid-friendliness: They have good kids meunFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
James Baker: Went for breakfast with my wife and 88 year-old mother in law. We called ahead to see what food offerings there were for breakfast because mom is on a soft food only diet because of her age and condition. She can't chew food so I have to mill everything for her. We ordered her a scrambled egg and wanted to just order a single pancake but the server said "No, we aren't doing that, you have to buy a stack." We explained why we just needed one pancake and offered to pay for a stack but she refused saying, "No, we don't do that." So we get a stack and the pancakes are huge. Big enough to make 9 servings for mom if we cut them into 1/3's. She eats about 6 oz. of food per meal as she weighs a whopping 88lbs and is 4' 8" tall and in a wheelchair. I think the menu should allow for a true "Child's or Senior" menu. It was a complete waste of food since we ended up throwing half the egg and 2 & 1/2 pancakes in the garbage so we could walk around and enjoy our day. The food was tasty but the unwillingness of the young lady behind the counter to simply help us in avoiding such a waste of food give us pause to eat there again. It's a big deal, food waste, and simply allowing someone to order a smaller portion of food would be a good practice. I don't care what the cost is but I don't think everyone walks around with a cooler full of ice to store leftovers in for 5 hours while walking around the zoo while pushing an 88 year old around in a wheelchair.
Mitchell McClure: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Asifbhai Huddani: Fries, nachos and burger are really good and hot. Little busy but not that much. They don’t give Cup lead and straw (great by Coca-Cola). Please stop providing Heinz catchup, mustard, mayonnaises and relish small plastic packets and save environment.
Koren Tarwater: The food in here is so good. Of all the zoos we have visited, this one has the best and most options and it's all so delicious
monica davis: I love going to the St Louis Zoo but the only thing I don't like is that the prices of their food is outrageous but I guess that makes up for getting in free
Austin Anthony: Totally rude people.. cold food and they just throw your food on the plate like they DGAS... Don't eat at the zoo!!!
Susan Bennett: Not enough seating for a crowd.
Aaron Barbee (A-A-Ron): Lines are a bit disorganized. One line had 2 cash registers for it, but you won’t notice that until you get to front of the line. Staff did clean up a spilled soda pretty quickly but they’re not here to be your best friend.Sandwiches/burger are cooked already (and wrapped up) so all of your toppings are on there, whether you want it or not. Everything was hot though and did taste good.
patrick mckechan: Good food not to bad of a priceKid-friendliness: Small kids Menu
Alan H: A clean, air conditioned area to grab lunch. The cafè, including the kitchen, seating area, and bathrooms were clean. Prices were a little higher, but reasonable when considering this was at a zoo that is free. Staff were friendly.Kid-friendliness: Kids meals available
Charles Gene: The young man Joseph with the glasses that rang my friend and I out was super kindThank you
Elizabeth Grueninger: Very busy. Quickly got through the line. Quessidila was hot and delicious. Not as expensive as we thought it would be.
Deepak Sharma: Coolest cafe in town
S M: Very nice place to stop for a quick meal. I'd rather eat here than McDonald's any day of the week.Features: Masks were needed inside while ordering.
Kelly Murray: Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: YesMore
