Central Studio: what do users think?
Maggie Taylor Berkowitz: Central studio offers a beautiful space for my Pilates practice and the equipment is fantastic. Even better than the aesthetics is the expert level teaching I have received from Laura Dunlop. Her knowledge of anatomy and Pilates work together to create a meaningful session that strengthens my weaknesses and leaves me feeling amazing when I walk out the door. Highly recommend!!
Julie Stern: I absolutely LOVE CENTRAL STUDIO! Mary Ellen is the most creative, kindest, inspiring leader! I discovered Central Studio over 5 years ago when I started a Pilates training/certification program. Throughout my training and beyond I felt supported, encouraged and mentored. I recommend Central to everyone from those who would like to start pilates or those who have been doing for years! Although I’m not involved in the children and adult dance programs, I like to watch the yearly production. I also can’t leave out the Collective Motion professional dance company. They visit schools and teach through the children’s books that Mary Ellen has written. One last thing, if you need a Thai massage, there are several massage therapists you will love!
Vicki Bensinger: Great studio, instructors and very clean! If looking for a Pilates studio I highly recommend Central Studio in Clayton.
Jackson Pianos LLC: Love this place and family running it has the biggest harts in our whole city. Definitely recommend the Thai message!
A A: Very professional, nice team and great environment
Brianna Doyle: Love taking class here. Such a welcoming environment for bodies all shapes and sizes! Makes me feel like I’m apart of a family. I love taking classes with Rachel, she is an excellent teacher. She makes sure everyone feels welcomed and gears each class to suit everyones level.
Queen Nduji: I have been going to Central Studio for a few months now. I usually take classes with Rachel and Tayler. They are both amazing instructors. They are so willing to help even for someone like me who had zero dance experience. I have so much fun in these classes. And my dance moves have hugely improved.
Raymond Slavin: It is impossible to share one favorite experience at Central Studio because each session is unique and always satisfying. I have NEVER been disappointed
Sue Fazio: Abbie is professional, authentic and so talented. Her teaching style flows and encourages me to go to a personal edge with breath and awareness.
Arica Nyamsi: Mary Ellen is such a healer and I'm so grateful to have access to her private Gyro lessons and Pilates Group Equipment Classes! She keeps me in top shape; mind, body & spirit.
Alice Bloch: All staff are experts, caring and attentive. I feel I'm appreciated as an individual. Studio cleanliness is exemplary
Logan Pratte: I love spending my time at Central Studio. It is such a warm and welcoming environment where everyone is treated like family!
Cathy Tu: I came to St. Louis area in 2014 and tried a few pilates studio at the time. Finally I found Central Studio. All instructors I had taken classes with are great and have love for what they do. I really love this studio!
Lynnsie Kantor: My only experience at Central Studio is adult ballet on Fridays with Abby, and it’s wonderful!!
Alexandra Rodriguez: My 2 LO's have been attending for over 2 years and love it. The instructors are very engaging and friendly.
Lana Girl: I am a student here and I absolutely love it! The environment is so positive and you feel safe here. The people here are like my other family. The teachers and staff are very friendly and help and push you towards your goals. I 10/10 recommended taking some class here if you are looking to dance, rejuvenating exercise, or just be a part of the community.
Sal Evans: Pilates makes my body feel so limber & recalibrated with fresh poise. My niece loved the Disney themed dance summer camp here, too. Such a welcoming space!
Anna Ray: Welcoming, friendly, helpful, tallented, and community oriented! I love this place!
Bonita Saunders: I’m not sure how many years I’ve been taking Pilates classes at Central Studio, possibly 5 years. Over those years I have never been disappointed. Mary Ellen, the owner of the studio, could not make her space more professional, inviting and nurturing. She is approachable, kind and vivacious. Her staff follows right behind her with instruction that leaves you feeling great and ready to face the day ahead. I just finished a year long downsizing move and am not sure how I would have kept my head on straight without my two Pilates classes a week with Abbie, a truly amazing instructor. Thank you.Boni Lang
Janet Park: Central Studio is where you go for fitness for your mind and body health and all levels of dance training and more. It will transform your body and mind! See for yourself by signing up for a class! I have been taking classes since they opened and still continue the lessons with eagerness and excitement! The best place to train mind/body in St. Louis! 🙏🧘🏻‍♀️🙏
Leah Johnson: I have been taking Pilates classes twice a week for 20 years, the last six at Central Studio. The owner, Mary Ellen Bryant, really listens to the needs of students, and I am delighted with the care they exhibit to each person who attends a class. We are always asked "how are your bodies feeling today" and the instructors do a great job of gearing the class towards the level of the attendees. Central Studio quickly adjusted to providing Zoom classes during the pandemic, helping us keep in shape by offering alternative ways to keep moving.

STL Swing Dance: what do users think?
Elias Twitchell: I have been very pleased with the dance lessons and socials. I am brand new to swing dance but even just the basics are fun. Plenty of spinning, slow and fast dancing and lots more to learn.Everyone's been friendly and the group is inviting. Hope to see more new faces there as I plan to keep going.Update:Been a few months and I'm hooked!
Olivia Stockman: Great beginning swing (Lindy) class series! The instructors - Christina and Josh - are amazing dancers but more importantly, they're effective in their teaching technique. The pace of advancement has been perfect over the course of the class - we've covered a lot of ground but not to the point of being overwhelmed or frustrating. I plan to keep taking classes from STL Swing.
Jenni Mangrum: Great instruction last night 11/2/22 for my beginners swing class!
Austin Y: Fantastic! Lots of fun, great instructors, greater people.
Cameron Brouk: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Paul Wheeler: Great Lessons with helpful and engaged teachers, Fun weekly socials with lots of lovely folks to dance with, and a great monthly dance with live music! I took the intro to swing class and had a great time!!
George Huestis: I've been swing dancing in St. Louis for twenty years, minus a couple years of pandemic. I have never seen this much talent gathered under one organization to teach here.I just had my first post-pandemic lesson from them, was blown away. If you want to learn Swing in St. Louis (and actually, yaknow, use it at real dances) these are the people to learn it from. These are people who have invested heavily in this dance over many, many years. They know how to dance and they know how to teach it.

The Studio, Inc.: what do users think?
Linda Phipps: When my son was going to start dance classes I wanted a dance studio that was encouraging of boys and had a great ratio of boys to girls so I asked a friend who had a son that danced where they went. They highly recommended The Studio, Inc. and we have been there for the past 4 years.Miss Amanda and Miss Emily have been patient, kind and nurturing. I am so glad someone recommended them to me and I highly recommend them as well.
Naomi Frankel: I danced at The Studio for 10 years, up until I graduated high school and moved out of STL. It's always hard to capture such a strong love for a place with words, but I'll try my best. When my Mom first enrolled me at The Studio, she was looking for a place that was different than other dance studios. A place where students felt loved for being themselves. The studio was definitely challenging and I had to work hard, but I left every class feeling proud of what I accomplished and confident in who I am. When I had trouble with skills or routines I was met with kindness and encouragement from my classmates and teachers. This positivity lead me to greater success. Most of my school friends stopped dancing at their respective studios during their teenage years. They were sick of leaving feeling worse than when they came in, ultimately causing them to lose their love for the sport. This always surprised me. My experience with dance could not have been more different. I think I ultimately loved dance BECAUSE of The Studio.Lastly, Miss Amanda, if you read this, thank you so much for imbuing my childhood and teenage years with love, confidence, challenge, and fun. I wouldn't be who I am today without having you as my dance teacher.
badaooz: I’ve been dancing here for years now and I have a lot of fun every time I go to class. Miss Amanda and Miss Emily are very encouraging teachers and I come out of class ready to go back again. :)
Mallory Bell: Wonderful instructors who my kids love- Miss Amanda and Miss Emily have great teaching styles that keep even young children engaged and each child feels included and part of the dance family. The studio is clean with plenty of space. Class schedules are organized in a way that makes it easy for busy families to participate. Classes are reasonably priced as well as the costumes for recitals. So glad we found The Studio!!
Saras Chung: My 16 year-old daughter has been taking ballet and jazz here for the past five years and she loves it. Miss Amanda and Miss Emily make dancing fun. She goes in tired and work from school and comes out smiling and energized. Thankful for the Studio!

Meghan Torno School of Irish Dance: what do users think?
Margaret Sliger: I've been dancing at the Meghan Torno School of Irish Dance for 10 years. I've never seen a teacher more dedicated to her students and their success! Not only is Meghan an incredible teacher, but she's also an amazing role model for all of her students. Everyone at this studio is so supportive of all of their teammates and it truly does feel like a big family!
Mary Mc Ateer: We have been at Meghan Torno School of Irish Dance for nearly 9 years! It is one of the best decisions I have ever made!! My daughter has learned so much here. She has learned its not about winning or loosing, but about the journey. She has learned camaraderie and sportsmanship. She is more focused and confident. All these characteristics have been instilled in her by the AMAZING teachers! These women are the type of women that I want my kids to look up to. Hardworking, compassionate and just plain fun!! The families at Meghan Torno are welcoming and so supportive of each other!! We have forged friendships thst will last a lifetime! Its not just a dance school, it truly is a family!!
Lindsey Blacharczyk: Sending our daughter to Meghan Torno School of Irish Dance was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our daughter has grown so much personally when it comes to confidence and drive but has also learned to work as part of a team all while having fun doing something she loves so much! We absolutely adore the all the teachers and we are so happy to have them as role models for our daughter. The staff, kids and parents are truly one big family!!!

Leaping Lizards Performing Art: what do users think?
J. Glenn: The teachers are nice. More important is that they are quite attentive to the children and help them perfect their form as the child is dances the length of the studio. I would recommend this studio to anyone. During this pandemic time, the parents are required to watch through the window from outside of the building. The ladies who work and run this very nice studio carry chairs out for all who are there to watch their child. I do not have any suggestions for improvement at this studio.
Sarah Earll: Amazing place with amazing teachers.
Jamie Burnett: Do not feel like this is a legit dance studio. After questioning a suggestion by an operator about the need to purchase leotards and tights for a recital, was snubbed by the operator and a parent and offered financial assistance I do not need. Other parents gave the impression that they thought I was cheap for asking. Was told dancing is optional. Was told my opinion was valued, but it seemed more like a dismissal. Feel like they protested too much and are in it for the money because reactions to my questioning were overly emotional. My children like it, but they don't know anything else and I sense that this place charges more than it is worth. The teacher interacts well with the children, but I have not seen improvements comparable to a higher quality studio. Building is not well maintained (lights out for multiple weeks), and some parents are pretentious which makes it hard while waiting. Seems like Leaping Lizards is not really into dancing as much as promoting events. Also this is much less diverse than I would expect if it were really "all about the children" as I was told by an operator. I'm stuck with them for now, but hey, it's all about the children.
Dan row: My daughter is loving her lessons. The teachers seem great. Very nice and helpful staff.
Keaton Ibendahl: I have been at leaping lizards for a few years now, and I love it. The teachers are great and have helped me improve.
Bethy Hamilton: I love Leaping Lizards been going there for almost 7 years and all the teachers are amazing Especially Taylor and Cecily. These are for sure must have teachers.
Kristina Hromadka: The classes are crowed and the teacher does not seem to know what to do. They kicked my 3 year old out of the school for crying. With so many other dance schools in St. Louis skip this one.

The Big Muddy Dance Company: what do users think?
Norma Deen Juracsik: Don't like Big Muddy name. We are so lucky to have great rivers here so we won't have water shortages of the West. Sounds so negative. It's just agricultural run off by farmers who don't take good care of our rivers.
Ellie Driemeyer: We love watching these dancers, and their PR Erin Prange is the best!!
Ricki Marking-Camuto: Favorite local dance company.
Gloria Humphrey: My daughter went to the high school intensive this past week and loved it!
