Fariñas Kitchen and Bar: what do users think?
Noel Machary: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Kevin Strom: I've been looking forward to trying out this place for a while and was glad to finally get here. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting. Definitely ideal date atmosphere. The drinks were tasty and strong, something that only happens when I prepare my own drinks. For appetizers, we had empanadas. For entree, we had ribeyes paired with french fries and platinos and maduros. As well as a side salad to start with. Be sure 2 order the raspberry vinegarate. Meal was amazing, 1 of our new go to spots!
Jakal El-Malik: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Fried Cheese, Smoked Ribeye, Fries, Argentinian Empanada DuoMore
Whitney in the City: Delicious food and drinks in a fun atmosphere is exactly what you’ll find at Fariñas! The Argentinian restaurant is perfect for a date night, night out with friends, or great spot to check out after a game. Reservations recommended! Street parking!MY FAVS: Empanada Duo, Shrimp Tacos, anything “On The Stone”
James Williams: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Smoked RibeyeMore
Ryne Delauter: Pretentious bar food. I ordered a Budweiser in this St. Louis Kitchen & Bar and the waitress said “Budweiser?” She literally had no idea what I was talking about. The food was easily the worst I’ve had since moving to the St. Louis area. The tortillas were dry, the lettuce was white & brown. The pizza looked like it was three days old.
Johnny Thunder: Enjoyed the atmosphere. Had a couple Old Fashioned cocktails and the filet which was fun to cook on the hot stone. I had an enjoyable evening. Our waitress was great.
Jonathan Allender-Zivic: Food was ok. The service was very slowRecommended dishes 10 Oz Tuna Steak …More
Misty Krueger: Had an appetizer and a drink. The empanadas were delicious.
Ali Ahrens: One of the best experiences I’ve ever had! I didn’t even have time to take a picture of my steak I ate it so quickly!!!
Micah Toombs: So much fun!! Truly an experience eating here. The entree comes out on a hot stone (like almost 800 degrees hot) and you can control the cook on your meat. I had the lamb, deliciously seasoned. The wait staff was very helpful and attentive and the chef/owner even came out to talk with our table. It's a new place, only been open for 3 months, so definitely give it a try. I'd love for them to succeed.
Meg Hein: The team was a bit understaffed but the folks there were welcoming and made our experience as smooth as they could.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Fried Cheese …More
Tom Rector: Wow. Amazing menu. Sharina provided excellent service. Best prime rib I've ever had and cooking it on the hot stone was a very interesting experience! Fresh ingredients, amazing sides, great atmosphere. Best meal ive had in a long time! This will be a talking point and referral for my clients!
jeremy porter: Food was excellent. They now have their liquor license, so I’m hoping they stay open consistent hours, and get enough business to stay in business. It is expensive. It would be nice to have Happy Hour or specials (that are advertised).
Dallas Clarkson: A new business, but very good food. Everything was seasoned exquisitely, food came out quick, and the stone grills are a fresh take on the stl dining experience.
Mitchell: Major staff issues
Sonjay Joseph Fonn, DO: Horrible service. Dirty utensils. Not sure what this restaurant wants to be but it’s most certainly not a steak house.
Deborah Seeger: Poor customer service, utensils dirty. Went in at 11:45 and given breakfast menu.
Michelle Braswell: This is my favorite new restaurant downtown. The total experience is unlike anything else in the city. The hot stone allows you to enjoy your steak at all different temperatures, so fun! The whole team is amazing and really cares about your dining experience.I also love that they have an event space that is perfect for any type of event, from meetings to rehearsal dinners to even weddings! We’re so happy to have this great space conveniently downtown!
Donna Latteri: I gave a one star because food we actually got was delicious. Party of 5 Walked in at 12:15 and by 1;00 two entrees of 5 came out. The owner was apologetic for not training the new waitress properly. But some food wasn't even cooked yet! For these prices we expect great service as well as food. When they get their act together it will be good.
Mindy Pluma: Google let me set the reservation and the restaurant was closed on a Friday night.Highly disappointed.

Rebecca Dodd: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Beef EmpanadaMore
Daniel Justin: TANGO was a great first experience. The People there are great caring people. My waitress was polite, kind, patient and great to talk with. The menu has very limited items but they do their items very well. It's pretty much a place to get fantastic empanadas and enjoy a cold drink. Also they make frozen empanadas to order for at home cooking! If you're looking for a quiet, simple, friendly, inviting and simple environment this is a definite place to check out. There's nothing like great service, great people and great legitimate authentic Argentinian food and beer! (Yes they have traditional beers too) for what the place is... I give it a 9 out of 10. When more menu items are added its an easy 10 of 10.
Marty Smith: Amazing food!
Jeff and Lynette Waltersdorf: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Empanadas, Variety of EmpanadasMore
Nikki Chennault: Go for the spicy, it won't burn you up, it's flavor. Our fav is the spicy chicken. Everything we had was super tasty and cooked fresh. Stella greeted me and walked me through the options, she carefully explained everything and has such a vibrant and joyful attitude. Go there. Eat all the empanadas. You will not be disappointed.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Empanadas, Spicy Chicken, Caprese, Beef Empanada …More
Eileen Bax: First time there and we’ll be back!Recommended dishes Empanadas, Spicy Chicken, Beef Empanada …More
Steven Buesking: This was a great experience. There are few food items beyond empanadas on the menu, but that is why we came. And we were not disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is better. The server said people usually order 2 or 3 empanadas. My wife had 2, I had 3; i wish i had ordered 4. Empanadas can be made for to go orders, or you can take home uncooked empanadas. I haven't tried that option but it would be of interest if hosting a party. This is well worth your time. Highly recommended. We will return.
Ignacio Solano: If you want authentic Argentinean empanadas, then you have to make the trip to this little restaurant. They are freshly made and fried to order.
Matt Tschannen: This place has the best empanadas I’ve ever had. They’re all made fresh to order and come out quick! The couple that owns this family business are an absolute delight and put a lot of care into creating a great experience and atmosphere. I’ve ordered from them for events more than once and the empanadas are always a hit(a box of spicy chicken or ham and cheese never last more than a few minutes lol) I’d highly recommend giving them a try for your next watch party!
Tracy Scowden: The nicest people around. And such a shiny and clean place. Love it.
Joy Legamaro: My first time trying empanadas and now I’m obsessed! Highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed at all!
Kim: We have been trying "new to us" restaurants and Tango is going to have to be a repeat trip! Cute, very clean establishment with great owners and amazing food. We tried several different empanadas and my least favorite was still delicious.
Kira Seek: my absolute favorite restaurant in the area, friendliest people ever and the food is incredible! 10/10
Jennifer Crispin: I ate here on vacation last week and am still thinking about it! I wish I didn't live so far away! I tried four different empanadas and they were all tasty, I liked the spicy five cheese empanada the best. Great variety of options for vegetarians. The owner was so welcoming! She went above and beyond explaining everything and sharing freebies.
Christopher Large: Amazing food. I love to try new things and I am happy google lead me here. Service was great and i had a wonderful time visiting with the staff and learning about Argentina. I will be back every time I’m in this area.
Greg Spearmon: Just mmmm. Please package and sell...

Patrick Gebhard: Great place for authentic empanadas. My favorite is the ham and cheese. Other options are all very tasty: beef (spicy or regular), corn, or spinach. Call ahead and get them to go, they'll be hot and ready waiting for you. I'd recommend 2 or 3 for a meal. All orders are 10% off on Wednesday and Thursday. We ordered a couple dozen for a party (orders are cheaper by the dozen). All our guests loved them and couldn't believe somewhere local to St. Charles would have them.No sides. A few drinks available in bottles. Only open for dinner.***Update. Moved locations a couple of years ago to the shopping center at West Clay and Droste. Open for lunch now, too! Much more variety on types of empanadas. Still the same amazing service!

Diana Valdez: On vacation and stopped here because we had our fur baby... we sat outside in the patio. Wow, everyone went above and beyond to accommodate us, brought out some water for our fur baby and the food was beyond delicious. The appetizers, salad, dinner and drinks was top notch! Staff was friendly, and made dinner an even better experience. Thank you alexa!!! Highly recommend ☺️

Renee Greer: Fabulous from first glance to final farewell. Extensive bar. Colossal shrimp cocktail was suburb. Wedge salad fill of tasty gorginzola. Cesar claimed to be best in st louis and was outstanding. I had rack of lamb, probably the best I have tasted in last 10 years! My guys went with bone in rib eye and gorginzola crusted filet. Both said you could cut with fork, that tender. 3 servings of twice baked potatoes...once we saw them we had to order! No room for dessert, although each looked too good to eat. Food topped only by the attentive, but not intrusive wait staff. Can simply not add enough accolades...try Carmines as your special foodie treat!

Greatly appreciate that :). We had the 8oz with a twice baked potato and i dont think i have ever had a potato that good! The steak was one of the best i have ever had as well. It was just an overall great experience and thank you for being apart of our celebration. Will defiantly be back and recommend to others. Keep up the fantastic work! Thanks again.

Travis Harrant: I had dinner tonight with some friends. J, our server, was amazing. He started is off with the recommendation of the steak nachos. AMAZING. He recommended the Porter House for dinner. We all ordered it. He suggested wine that paired very well with the steak. The service he provided for our dinner was beyond our expectations. He is a great kid and needs to know that. He had humor and joked with us the whole time. While doing this, he still was very professional and ensured his other tables had the same experience.Great kid. I hope this establishment can hire more kids like him.
Mollie Norris: My food was delicious and it was perfect!Parking: Very multiple places to park
Cristian Begazo: Delicious and amazing service by J!!From the moment we were seated, J provided us with exceptional service. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to explain the various options and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. All four or us took his recommendation for the porterhouse Steak! Which was phenomenal!Throughout the course of our meal, J continued to impress us with his professionalism and attention to detail. He checked on us regularly to ensure that we had everything we needed, and he even made some great recommendations for wine pairings. The highlight of the meal, however, was J's genuine warmth, hospitality and sense of humor. He made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the entire dining experience, and we could tell that he truly cared about making our meal memorable.Overall, I would highly recommend J as a server at Carmines Steakhouse. He is an asset to your team and truly made our dining experience one to remember.
Scott BIEDERMAN: Very nice meal Sea bass was great 👍 Bethany hosting the place sold us on the place.. We we're on our to Ruth Chris steak house and she turned us around. Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves. 😉

Carnivore STL: what do users think?
Doug Hutchings: Sadly a real miss tonight for these 1st time diners. Kitchen botched orders. Steak overly seasoned hiding on what should’ve been a most flavorful cut. Server failed on follow up, along with absent apologies. Loud inappropriate ‘bar’ music for dining. And to top it off no soap in the women’s restroom (yikes!) for the early dining crowd. Sorry. Other fine options on the Hill for next time.Dietary restrictions: Dairy free noted for one guest but out came the steamed asparagus with cheese all on top. Ate the main steak entree completely b4 the reorder arrived. Heard of ‘express’? Ugh!

Tory C: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Fried Oysters, 14 Oz NY Strip with Mashed PotatoesMore
Janet Knese: Mussels and oysters app served with burnt toast on top. Horrible. 8 Oz filet was tough. Shrimp Alfredo had no flavor whatsoever. The baked potato a La carte was plain. The cheesecake dessert with Carmel brownie tasted like it had Hershey’s syrup drizzled on it. My husband called it Bosco. So bad. Not worth any of the $ .
Daryl Dachroeden: The Food is always savory but a little pricey- $44 for 8oz steak and each side for an extra fee ex. $6 for a baked potatoDrinks are very pricey and chevis (scotch and water) served with only two ice cubes- Use the little coffee creamers for a kalua and cream and not even fills 1/3 of the glass. so slightly disappointing yet food is very tasty just pricey and the waitresses and waiters are excellent . nice experience just pricey
Racheal: I ordered the steak, mash, and Alfredo it was all fresh hot and just right for the money of the steak was good bc most cowboy ribeyes with the bone are 65-70+ and the mash was so perfect very good price and everything else was too.Kid-friendliness: I seen a family come in with small childrenParking: Plenty species to park its inside The RiverCity Casino
Mark Byrd: Appetizers, Seafood dishes, and drinks were great. Just DO NOT order a steak. I’ve had better steaks at Lone Star, Long Horn, and Texas Roadhouse, and that’s not saying much. For a high end dining experience steak house it was no Ruth’s Chris.
Aaron: Food was disappointing to be honest. If I was paying for this without any comps I'd have been upset to be honest. Grilled oysters were raw and flat with the cheese barely melted, I sent them back and I literally NEVER send anything back but I didn't want to get sick. I never expect prime rib to be super hot but this was basically cold. My friend got the same and didn't even want to eat. If you don't want to do it right, don't have it on the menu, in my opinion. I honestly regretted coming here for dinner and not just getting a burger or food from Asia.
Jason Portman: The food is absolutely delicious and mouth watering. The Lobster -Mac is enormous and incredible. The Cowboy Ribeye is amazing. Service is spot on and the ambiance is quaint. I highly recommend the steakhouse.Vegetarian options: Halloumi with a roasted tomato sauce and zucchini and squash.
BRYAN CLOUSER: amazing atmosphere food was on point i loved everything only complaint would be the asparagus was to big i like the smaller ones better but the flavor profile of everything was spectacular the chefs are on there game
Dan Asher: 15 minutes after I made our News Years reservation online Jason the manager called me to confirm the details! Well that’s never happened before. Our party was greeted promptly and sat in a very nice private booth. Our waiter was top notch as was the food. Definitely recommend
Thomas Stoll: Had a great dinner. Good atmoshere, excellent food and service. Would recommend. The timing was good on appetizers to dinner. Scallops and kabobs were the main entree Fresh tasting and prepared well.. The dessert was dry for the apple pie canoli. Creme Brule was excellent and smooth in texture to taste. Coffee to top off the evening very robust and flavorful.
Lejla McCormick: The atmosphere was nice. The food was very disappointing. I ordered chicken Alfredo fettuccine and ended up tossing the leftovers as soon as we arrived home. Husband ordered a NY strip which had a lot of gristle. Cocktails were just okay, but overpriced. Overall, the experience was meh.
Brooke Weyand: My favorite date night spot! Great food and atmosphere that got us in the door, but the number one reason we continue to return is the service. Serge is attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and personable. Top Notch Service - 1904, you have a GEM in that one!!
Paul C: The place was extremely dirty and the service was sub par. Was out of baked potatoes.Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Russell Ball: Tomika was patient as we tried to decide on what to eat. (It was the FIRST TIME there and we choose it because it was my birthday celebration.) The night was PERFECT, all the above were met to the highest standard! The ONLY little thing, perhaps because of MY preference, was that I like the small pencil asparagus over the larger size as I had to cut each spear in half to avoid the woody fiber. Consider getting smaller size and/or cutting off more of the tough ends. Thanks for a GREAT NIGHT!!! We left a 30% tip because of the experience!!!!
Mike Patton: Service good. Gnats flying around. Scallops very sandy. Food was nowhere close to price. Very poor.
Steve Lower: Had 6:30 reservations, didn't matter. No tables ready, had to wait, was told they had to clean a table for us. First hostess haf to ask multiple times what my name was for the reservation while we waited.. Then another host takes over, and we start over, he needed the name the reservation was under also.. We were the ONLY ones waiting... Finally get seated after walking past many other tables that were ready.... Placed order, 15 minutes later waiter comes out says too bad, out of the Prime rib.. Been open 90 minutes, its Friday, our of meat at a steakhouse? 40 minutes in, appetizer finally shows up.. I tell the manager four out of the last five times here they are out of the main cuts of meat, he claims not on his watch in the last 45 days because they now prepare 3 times more the night before.. FAIL. Because here we are, open only 90 minutes and already prime rib is not available.. I ask whats the point of making reservations if we have to wait to be seated, he says to clean tables. FAIL. Doesn't it make sense to have table ready at 6:30, if there is a 6:30 reservation.. I mean, what if the people at that table tooklonger to eat or leave, then you have people waiting longer who made reservations.. LAST TIME HERE.. Food was another disaster, wasted too much time already. Manager has failed many times now, never changes process.
Ginia: This steakhouse was always our favorite restaurant. The service and atmosphere is still wonderful HOWEVER, the quality and quantity of food has severely worsened. I ordered asparagus and paid $8 for 3 1/2 small pieces of asparagus. The shrimp cocktail for our appetizer was served and we received 3 shrimp at the crazy price of $16!!! The prime rib there at one time melted in your mouth it was so tender and seasoned perfectly, not anymore. The steak was tough and definitely not aged high quality beef as it use to be and cost of $45 We had a table of 4 and the bill was $260. Everyone at the table was disappointed. We brought home the steak and fed our puppies a very expensive meal.
Brian Peterein: The service was awesome and the food was amazing! Thanks for a great experience!
Thomas TINNEA: We were able to have Chris as our serer, always a request for us. He was his usual charming self and treated us royally. I had the grilled shrimp as an entre since my appetite had dwindled and my wife had the filet with the mashed potatoes. She also ordered the wedge salad. We split the entire meal with no left overs and were completely full and couldn't even finish my "Birthday Dessert" from Chris. Total bill of $75 with a 20+ tip was well worth it and an enjoyable evening at the 1904 Steakhouse. Highly recommend.

I went in calm and collective, so the cashier say it’s probably on the bottom I’m like no it’s no cheese at all. Which he’s giving me attitude already, so he asks for the burger. Comes back, and he slap a piece of cheese on their like no I just order this burger like fix Me a fresh burger plus this burger is cold, so the cashier is the only person giving me a problem cook is fine with it but at this point I want a refund because why are you going back and forth with the customer and being rude plus he told me I’m doing all of this giving him a hard time and I only tip a dollar umm sir I didn’t have to tip anything thank god I only tip a dollar Because I would have had to go in the tip jar for my tip back bad experience will not be returning food is usually good, but cashier need to be fired if manger is looking it was the bright one don’t know his nationality, but he’s not black please train him on good customer service

Carl Roberts: Decided to take a chance on a steak dinner and was very disappointed with the Porterhouse steak meal. It wasn't tasty as I'd hoped. They need to loose Best in their name and just be called a steak house. Steak was tough and bland, the best thing of the dinner was the baked potato, Never again!
Seena Phillips: I normally have great experiences from The Best Steak House but Friday afternoon I spent close to 75 dollars and it was the worst meal ever. Our steaks were ashy, tip potatoes were flop potatoes shrimps were hard. I can say the fruit punch and my salad was okay
Mary Jay: Food was trash and the customer service is too.
Kimberly McRoberts: Not as spectacular as everyone else made it out to be, my steak was rubbery and a little hard to chew in most places. And the server taking my order was very rude. #Notimpressed!
Patricia Jackson: I haven't been there in a year or two. I had been getting the gyro, chopped steak or ribeye.I had the Rib Eye Special recently. It was paper thin and tasteless. Within 24 hours two people in our party that had steak got food poisoning. Thanks for a ruined trip to St. Louis.
Selena Velez: Would not recommend doing grub hub here. I told them the name and the order sat on the counter for awhile instead of just handing me the order.

Gauchos Steakhouse: what do users think?
Tiffany Dvorak: The Salmon was amazing. Restaurant was very clean with a lot of attention to detail in the atmosphere and cleanliness. Only took a star off for service as the waiters seemed to hide around a back corner for quite awhile. Food was slow to come out but freshly made.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Daniel Voyles: We shared the fried cheese appetizer, each had the ribeye StoneGrill which was a new experience. The key lime tart was a small dessert ☺️.StoneGrill is your choice of meat brought out on a 750* rock and had salt in our case for the steaks. I was amazed at the quality of the meat. It was superb.I found the process of slicing a piece off, grilling it myself on the rock, and then letting it cool to be quite fun.Definitely come and have something in a new experience. 😎

Greg Foral: Was in town for a game and my wife found this. Such a fun little hidden gem.
Mirabel I: Excellent meats, just perfect. You kinda cook it to your preference and it’s seasoned good. The fries are weak but I guess you don’t go here for the fries. The service was ok, there was a bit of a wait for the food but so worth it.We also got the provoleta it wasn’t what we were expecting but it didn’t taste. Ad.You need reservations.
Paul Niesen: Cook your own steak ti your desired doneness on a heated stone. Neat concept! Our party had an 8 oz. filet, 16 oz ribeye, and pan-seared salmon. Everything was quite good. Gauchos may not be the swankiest of places, but the food is definitely worth the trip!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Cook Your Own Steak …More

Austin Jacobson: Great food, nice atmosphere and solid service. Cooking your own steak is a unique experience too! Been eating here since it was a food truck. On Quack (OnQuack): For the price of the meal being $100+, it simply wasn’t worth it.The appetizers:1. Plantains - Great combination of flavors. Love it.; and2. Empanadas - Great but over priced, go to the Foundry in STL, they’re cheaper and just as good. The entrees:1. Strip steak - Mediocre at best and overwhelmingly fatty and not a strip steak, at least a quarter of the steak was pure fat. There was more fat on the strip sirloin than the ribeye. It wasn’t even remotely trimmed and the piece that the waiter cut off as an example on how to use the stone was 95+% fat. Steak was bland minus the rock salt, which was unappealing.; and2. Ribeye - Again a bland steak with the only real flavor being rock salt. This rock salt sounds great but it was embedded into the steak and it’s not fun biting into a rock in the middle of a steak. The sides:1. Four Cheese Mac and Cheese - The topping on top of the Mac was over done and dry. The noddles were also dry. Missed the mark on the cheese. Go to O’Town for some good Mac and cheese. The best!; and2. Fries - Somehow cold upon arrival. Under seasoned and lacked salt. I tried to use my stone to heat them and add salt to no avail. I couldn’t even flag anyone down for some ketchup. The staff:1. I totally appreciate the waiter training the new guy. But we were visited three times total without being prompted by us or the food to come to our table. One, to take our order after 15 minutes of waiting (there was only three other tables occupied there with a total of 10 people, excluding us.). Two, to ask us how the food was when we were 80% done. Three, to ask us if we wanted the check, after I asked three minutes before. If you want water, you might as well wave the empty bottle until they realize you want something or you ain’t getting it.2. Priority was flipping tables instead of waiting on guests wanting to order or anything else needed.Other grievances:1. I was so excited to eat here since they opened right by my house, compared to their lunch spot by Scott AFB. Their lunches were awesome. But it was impossible to tell when they were actually open here.2. I call their number twice to see if they have any tables available. Never get a response and their VM is full. I did a test call while in the restaurant and no one answered while I’m staring at the phone. When we were able to actually open the door and get a seat we were so excited. I was hoping to treat my wife because she’s been so stressed with work, but I wish I would’ve just taken her to Sybergs.
Andrea Banuelos: The best steak I've ever had! I had such a good time here with my family! They are short staffed at the moment so you have to be patient! The server was very nice and helpful even though he had a lot to do.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Garlic Chimi Sauce, Cook Your Own Steak, Gauchos Fried Cheese …More
Dylan Lercher: I have been here for an hour and a half and haven’t even got water yet.
Michelle Beatty: I would not recommend this place to anyone! It has HORRIBLE SERVICE. Waited over 20 min to get waited on. Will never go back!
Cole beatty: Waited over 20 minutes and waiter never took our order. Walked out and never coming back.
Dianne Stock: We really enjoyed our dining experience with our friends tonight at your restaurant!!! The steaks were so good on the hot stone! The appetizers were also so good! The staff was very nice and friendly! Would definitely recommend and come back again! Thanks so much!
Jessica Renner: I generally don't like to leave alot of reviews especially bad ones. However, I feel I would be doing a dis service by not expressing my experience. I was here for a small birthday party. At first it was great. Ordered quick, apps came out quick. Appetizers were really good. Everything on the menu was pretty pricey. I decided my daughter and I could share a plate and add on an extra side or 2. This was our first-time in. The waiter knew this as it was discussed. When I told him we were sharing not once did he mention there's an extra charge for it. (Almost the same price i would have paid for her kids' meal) Didn't notice till we got the bill. Not a huge deal but not thoughtful. My biggest issue was the quality of the food. Everything seemed like it was drenched in salt. The steak flavor and quality were very bare minimum. For $37 a steak (plus a share fee) I would expect a juicy, tender flavorful steak. In the nicest way possible, a steak at Applebee's would have tasted better. On top of all of this our waiter seem to then forget about us. We asked multiple times for more water because we were all dying of thirst after how salty Everything was including the sides and it wasn't until we asked the owner did, we actually get some. The water tasted like it came from a sink. (From other reviews, apparently, they used filtered water) but it absolutely didn't taste like it. Our fries came out cold and hard as if they had been sitting out. We had 2 ppl show up a little later. No one came to help them till way after everyone was done with their food. I am absolutely mind blown that they are charging this kind of money for this quality or food an service. The owner was very kind an it sucks having to write this but as nice as she was, it is not worth the money. Definitely recommend another steak place. Another steak place. In response to your response, We gave you the chance to fix the problem. We ask multiple times for water and were neglected. We gave you a chance to serve us hot fries. We gave your server the chance to tell us there was an upcharge for plate share. We gave him the chance to attend our new guest in a timely fashion. I gave you the chance when I paid the amount of money i did for this experience. I should not have to stop our dinner in front of everyone to complain to receive the bare minimum of customer service. This comment was your opportunity to "fix it". But instead of apologizing, you deflect and stated for some people "Its never enough" and "You're not afraid of seasoning and flavor." As far as short staff, there we possibly 4 other small tables that night. I would be completely understanding if it was even a little bit busier, but it was not. Even if I'm wrong and you were busy, at no point was there a "Sorry for the wait." It's that simple. So again, for me, it was not worth it.
Mindy Allen James: Even though they had a huge table, we were taken care of. The staff was super friendly, and the steak was great. The stoneware cooking method is unique, and we had never had anything like it before. The empanadas as an appetizer were delicious. This was our first time here, and we will likely go back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Empanadas …More
Brad Bowyer: Updated 30 Dec 22. Still a great experience. Food is delicious and the owners are working really hard to provide a great dining experience during tough times for all restaurants. Support your local restaurants.First time in the new restaurant. Great dining experience with a restaurant crew that cares. Thank you Oscar for bringing such amazing food to the community.
Otto W. Jean: John was our waiter and he made us feel comfortable with our new experience with this type of dining. The stone cooking was awesome and did exactly as he said it would. The Ahi Tuna and grilled chicken fillet were both outstanding. This will become out new date night dining place.
Andre C: They charge you for any substitutions. The water they serve you is faucet water. How cheap is that??? Food came out cold. The server only came back once and that was 20 minutes after receiving cold food. He didn’t even care that it was. Avoid this place. The only good part was the bus boy. He was friendly and attentive.

Kreis' Steakhouse & Bar: what do users think?
Jen Strassemeier: My first time here, celebrating my 1st anniversary, I had the Odd Couple, and my dad got king crab legs, and omg! I have never had a crab leg like that, so good! Our waiter was also a lot of fun, his name was Maz and he handled my sarcastic, crazy family very well. I highly recommend this place, and highly recommend sitting in Maz's section!
Cristina Wilson: We went to dinner for a special occasion, which ended with horrible service from Server Richard. While the server was actually pretty terrible (rude), the servers assistant Floyd gave exceptional customer service. It is a very good ambiance with a delicious selection of food. Had Floyd (the servers assistant) and the food not been top-notch, my rating would have only been 2 out of five due to the Terrible server.
Skippy Tone: I recently had dinner here. The food, the menu selections, and the atmosphere were great. However, our server for the night is the reason for the 1 star. He was not personable, was very short & noticeably disturbed once questioned about a dinner plate. It was very unprofessional to say the least. Would I recommend this restaurant to other people? Yes, I would. Nonetheless, I would definitely make them aware of my experience ,and the bad service on behalf of the server during my encounter. Thank you.

Lori Horne: Their food and service are top notch. Both my husband and I think this is the best fine dining restaurant in the St. Louis area. Ben Maschan: The prime rib was tough and chewy. All four of us that got it had the same opinion. The service was ok until the food came, then the waiter was gone. Nancy Stepanek: We drove into St Louis from Kansas City to celebrate out 35th wedding anniversary at Kreis' Steakhouse and go to Shaw's Garden. We had a fabulous time. Maz and his assistant took such good care of us. The food was wonderful-of course the steaks- but even the vegetable platter was awesome. My husband's water glass was never empty and that in itself if hard to do. Thank you to all, we had a lovely anniversary
Betheny Hall: My husband and I drove 1.5 hours tonight to dine with you. The experience was amazing! We celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary and so happy we chose this establishment. Our waiter Frank was amazing and took care of us. The shrimp appetizer was delicious and the main reason we came was the prime rib. It did not disappoint. Frank then brought us a slice of cheesecake to celebrate our occasion. We will definitely make this a tradition to celebrate our many years of happiness! We rarely treat ourselves to meals like this and with drinks and the whole meal, it was still cheaper than what we had budgeted! Thank you for providing us with a whole experience! Special thanks to Frank and his amigo who took great care of us!!Ps please feel free to use this on your website or google. I will go to google to see if I can post!!Best regards!!Betheny Hall

Joshua Dull: My family has been eating at Kreis' for three generations - and I can confidently say the service, and the food, is first class. I recently went to dinner for my father's birthday, and after telling the host stand about it when booking my reservation, I was disappointed the staff did nothing to celebrate when we dined. A week later, I got a call with them apologizing and offering us to come back so they can make it right. Now THAT is customer service. Regarding the food: their prime rib is some of the finest I've ever had - and they never skimp on the portions! I always make sure to get a twice-baked potato to go with it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
Dustin Smith: Visited this establishment for a date night this past weekend and it was quite a pleasant experience. Parking was easy, food was good and service was excellent. I had 6:45pm reservation and was seated shortly after arriving. We were seated down stairs and our server was Dale. Top notch server with top notch help in a young lady named Donte. I order the strip and my GF order the fillet. Both with tasty garlic shrimp on the side! My steak was cooked to perfection with hers being slightly undercooked. I had a baked potato that was slightly overcooked but still good. Was too full for dessert unfortunately. I would most definitely recommend this establishment.

Aaron Obernuefemann: We made a reservation for 5:30 PM. When we arrived, the parking lot looked empty but was beginning to fill up. By the end of our meal, the parking lot was full and we noticed a few cars circling around trying to find a spot. The service and atmosphere was simply top of the line! Jerry (who was one of our servers) was very nice and helpful with any of our questions we had, truly a 5 star service person himself. When ready, we ended up ordering pan seared bacon wrapped scallops fir an appetizer, and an 18 oz ribeye steak with lyonnaise potatoes and Jumbo lump crab cake with the Kreis house twice baked potatoes for dinner (passed on the drink menu but it had a great variety of choices as well). All of our dishes came out quickly and all the food was PHENOMENAL!! The ribeye was absolutely perfect and the jumbo lump crab cake is truly the best you will find on this side of the river (we go regularly to Maryland for their crab cakes which are our favorites). For dessert, we ended up ordering the cheesecake and y'all this was seriously the best cheesecake I've ever had (speaking as a fellow cheesecake fan)!! Overall I was very satisfied considering I knew this place was considered higher priced than others. 100% worth it for sure and would recommend for anyone to go! A nice button down shirt, and other nice clothes should be worn to the restaurant but other than that, we will definitely be returning, especially for special occasions!Parking: We arrived at 5:30 for a reservation which had an empty parking lot. However not long after, the parking lot was packed full and we noticed a few cars circling around trying to find a spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp up to the entrance and enough space to maneuver around the inside of the restaurant.

Liz Funk: Excellent service, but terrible steak and food. Everything lacks flavor. The broccoli with lemon literally came out as a half raw crown of broccoli with a wedge of lemon. Just like it it was straight from the supermarket. Potatoes were plain and barely seasoned. Filet mignon was raw not medium rare as ordered and rubbed with so much pepper that it gave it a terrible taste. The brandy sauce was burnt and gave the steak a terrible burnt flavor. My husband’s steak was a little bit better. We decided to leave my steak and eat his. I will say the waiters were very attentive though. The food just wasn’t great.
Joy Rhodeman: My husband and I decided to go to Krei’s’ for our 14th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed! The food was cooked to perfection and the service was even better! Thank you to the dynamic duo, M&M (Maz and May) for wonderful service and for gracing us with a snippet of the classic song “Lovely Day”. You two helped to make this anniversary a memorable one. We’ll see you again soon.Best regards,~Joy & Marlon~
Clare Phelan: Favorite steakhouse in STL. Been coming here since a kid and it is always a pleasure. If you are looking for top notch service, ask for Maz. 10/10.
michelle disalvo: Maz was great last night. It was my birthday and he was so attentive to us and was really witty and funny. Great food, great company and great server!
