Feasts of Fancy: what do users think?
Timmy Gibson: One of my favorite venues! As a Wedding Officiant I get to see so many of Kansas City's finest Venues, and Feast of Fancy in the Historic Westbottoms is at the TOP of my list of KC's Totally Cool and Unique Wedding Venues. It's urban elegance at it's finest with food that will change your life! I should also add that the Staff at Feast of Fancy are as awesome as the venue is beautiful and the food is tasty! I am sure you will love them, make sure to set up a tour today!
Willow Carr: Feasts of Fancy was perfect for our wedding. Stephanie was our event coordinator, and she was helpful and well organized throughout the planning process. She made sure to iron out all the details of the event to ensure that the day of went as smoothly as possible. On the day of the wedding, the staff were so accommodating and attentive. The space was beautiful and I felt that all of my wishes during the planning process were honored. The food was also fantastic; we had multiple guests tell us it was the best food they have had at a wedding. I would absolutely recommend Feasts of Fancy for those who are planning a wedding.
Angela Dugan-Starr: Went for a wedding, the decor and food was incredible. The flex indoor/outdoor space was stunning and the staff was very helpful and kind. Parking was across the street, and traffic police assisted with the area. The venue was also stunning with open beam ceilings and wood floors
Sarah Jurgensmeyer: We loved Feasts of Fancy! The venue is absolutely stunning, inside and out. It's so wonderful to have so much bundled together- they take care of the flatware, glasses, plates, chairs, linens, servers, bartenders, food... I didn't realize until talking with people at other venues  just how much FOF takes care of for you! It was perfect for us as a couple planning a wedding from out of town. We loved the outdoor space for the venue and at first I was nervous about the Oscar style seating rain plan, but those fears were unfounded because when we *did* have to shift indoors because of rain, the space was perfect and made us feel surrounded by love. There was still plenty of room for all the guests, seating for immediate family, and room for all of the bridal party and groomsmen to stand. The food was INCREDIBLE- we did serving stations and every single one was amazing, our guests raved about all the food. It's also great that you can bring in your own alcohol and return what is unopened- it was so nice to be able to have the drinks of your choice and not have to do a bar package per head. The servers were also incredible and did a phenomenal job with everything. We couldn't imagine our wedding anywhere else!
Cammy Ylo: Stephanie was my coordinator and did a wonderful job! She was very kind and helpful, and extremely organized. We chose the venue because even without our decorations, it was beautiful and had the most gorgeous courtyard. It also was all inclusive, so we got our linens, dishwater, silverware, tables, coffee service, AND food all included. That made it much easier for me, as I did not want to stress myself over a 6 hour wedding reception. We got our alcohol through Cellar Rat, who coordinated with FoF so they did the delivery (they also refund for any unopened alcohol). My friend (who did my florals) kept commenting on how helpful and sweet the staff was, as a lot of wedding coordinating teams are super rude and not accommodating in the slightest. I can’t recommend Feasts of Fancy enough!
Tom Ruopp: Beautiful venue. Was a great wedding party except they shut down the bar at 9:15pm when the party ended at 10pm without a last call. Additionally, they took away the dessert platter early and were cleaning up too early. I think if the party goes til 10pm then we should be able to enjoy the food, drinks, and decor until that time. Really bums out the last hour of the party when people are just taking stuff down all around you.EDIT: It was not the part of the venue to determine timing of take-down, so updated to 5 stars. Thank you Feasts of Fancy for clarifying!
Julianne Owen: Feasts of Fancy was so wonderful to work with, I cannot recommend enough! They were easy to communicate with and it was incredible having a venue that was a one stop shop in so many way - food, linens, serving ware, and some of the decor even. They let us bring our own alcohol and served it exactly as requested and the food was so delicious, everyone was talking about it! The space was even more beautiful than I had pictured once we had it all decorated, and everything literally came together like a dream. The service the day of was impeccable as well, the waiters were attentive and even placed guests’ napkins on the backs of their chairs when they got up. It was such a pleasure to work with Camille too, and her sense of humor helped lighten the mood at just the right moments! So happy we chose to use Feasts of Fancy.
Kelsey Argall: If you are on the fence about having your wedding here, get off the fence! Do it! We had such a fantastic, easy going experience planning our wedding with feasts of fancy. The food was delicious (get the coq au vin) - many people said best wedding food they’ve ever had. Every aspect of the service was perfect. I’ve even attached a picture of one of the servers wiping icing from my daughter/flower girls hands after giving her a treat. They were so sweet to her and to everyone else. The venue is beautiful, decorations are honestly optional with how nice the space looks. Compliments were flowing all night, there was chatter of “best wedding ever” :) 1,000 stars.
Harley Knapp: We used Feast of Fancy for catering for our wedding day, and they did not disappoint!! After working with them for over 2 years since we postponed our wedding twice, they were always very understanding and easy to work with! They were able to accommodate us for our menu requests, even last minute when we forgot to request a gluten free meal (oops!), and everything was delicious. Everything went so smoothly, highly recommend!
Kelsey Wendland-Moore: We had our wedding reception here in June 2021--it was fantastic! Our food was overall delicious (honestly one of my favorite aspects of our reception!), the vibe and space itself was perfect, and FOF's staff both leading up to and day-of was stellar. Vicki and Camille know exactly what they are doing and are SO helpful. Set-up was very easy and they made clean-up/packing up decor that we brought, flowers, extra booze, etc at the end of the night very easy. I even left my cell phone in the bridal suite by accident after my spouse and I left for the night, and Vicki helped us get it back the following day before we left for our honeymoon. Last but not least, the outdoor courtyard space was icing on the cake!
Chris Wilborn: Pretty Nice Venue. The Servers/bartender/Security bent over backward to make guests happy.
Meg Murphy: My husband and I got married at Feasts of Fancy in September, after having to postpone our wedding due to COVID-19. We worked with Camille throughout the planning process, who was patient and engaged as we worked through the logistics of rescheduling everything. On the day-of, the staff was friendly and helpful, always around to refill a plate or drink. The food was delicious and we received a ton of compliments on it. We didn't do much decoration to the venue because it already was so beautiful. I definitely would recommend working with them.
Justin Salrin: Great venue, great food
Christine Whipple: Choosing Feasts of Fancy as our venue and catering team was one of the best decisions my husband and I made when planning our wedding! After touring the space, it was clear that the Hobbs building (where they are located) had so much more charm than your typical event space. From the original wood floors to the brick walls, rustic pillars, and cobblestone courtyard, this venue is vintage chic and so gorgeous. It needed very few added decorations, as they already have lanterns with battery-operated candles and café lights hung both indoors & out. Vines climb the fences outside, making for a great photo backdrop. In regards to Covid, we did re-schedule twice with no issues. Since the pandemic, they told us they installed UV Scrubbers and HEPA filtration for their HVAC system at double the room capacity. They also had some hand sanitizer available. With the recent surge of the Delta variant, we did have a lot of guests who were initially nervous about coming but in the end told us they felt safe and comfortable at our wedding. We had just shy of 100 guests in attendance so we were able to space out the tables pretty well. The food was delicious and the tasting events provided us so much inspiration! It was like a mock-wedding every time we went-- a great time to meet new vendors and see how they would use fun linens and different floral arrangements. To see the food displayed at our wedding was beautiful & impressive- it's unlike any other buffet I've seen! The staff filled the plates for each guest in line due to Covid. The BEST part of our experience though was the staff. Camille was our day-of coordinator and she is a true professional. The whole event ran so smoothly. We heard positive stories from guests afterwards of how the servers were kind & attentive. For example one brought their kids some extra fruit and made sure the vegetarian and gluten-free guests were served their alternate meal options. They also offered to serve the older guests even though we only paid for the buffet. They provided champagne service and also offered to serve the cake as well.So much is included when you book with Feasts of Fancy. You should have no hesitations when considering this venue!
Zachary P: I'm certain the dinner will be great.
Rick Robards: We held our Daughters reception at Feasts of Fancy last Saturday. I can’t imagine a better urban venue. Camille and her people did a great job! Good food, beautiful tables and very professional service staff. We wanted a place that allows you to bring your own alcohol and FoF fits that bill. Very nice courtyard for cocktail hour outside as well. Their flexibility during COVID allowed us to have a fabulous event even with some tradeoffs to meet city requirements.
Natalie Owens: If we hadn’t done our wedding at Feasts of Fancy, we likely would still not be married. Our original wedding date was set for May 2nd, 2020. However, when COVID-19 started to impact the United States, we were told that we would have to reschedule our wedding. The owners (Andy and Kathleen Jacot) were extremely transparent throughout this process. They communicated to us that they were not able to host any weddings at the venue in May and told us as soon as they were made aware of these changes. They provided us with a list of open dates and we were able to reschedule our wedding to June 5th fairly easily. Later, when Andy and Kathleen were told that they couldn’t host any weddings in early June, they displayed the same transparency and told us as soon as possible so that we could reschedule again to late July. We truly believe that if we had been working with any other venue that we would have probably had to have cancelled our wedding and elope. Thankfully, the staff and owners at Feasts of Fancy were transparent, easy to work with, and communicative with us from the beginning and we were able to celebrate our special day. From the complimentary monthly tastings, working with our day of wedding coordinator (Vicki) to map out the perfect timeline and get her insights on colors, themes, etc., recommendations provided by Feasts of Fancy for third party vendors (i.e., music, flowers, etc.), we could not have had a better wedding planning experience (despite having to reschedule multiple times). The staff at Feasts of Fancy ensured that everyone at our wedding was safe and had a great time celebrating us. Andy recommended that we use UV air purifiers in an effort to kill any airborne germs that may have been present inside during the reception and the staff set up some tables outside for guests that were not comfortable sitting inside. The staff used gloves, worse masks, and served everyone their food on a plate individually in an effort to be as safe as possible. This paid off as we are happy to report that none of the guests that attended our wedding contracted COVID-19.We had numerous friends and family members compliment us on our signature drink that the staff at Feasts of Fancy prepared and almost everyone asked us for the potatoes au gratin recipe that was served as a side dish. Needless to say, the food was excellent and served as an exclamation point on our special day. We were so happy that we had the opportunity to choose exactly what we wanted to be served at the wedding after attending numerous tastings and with recommendations from Vicki / the staff. The experience provided to us is not unique, as the staff at Feasts of Fancy makes everyone feel like their wedding is the most important and does whatever they can to have each wedding go as smooth as possible. Our wedding was truly was a dream come true and it was a pleasure to work with Feasts of Fancy. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Mark Siebert: Great venue. We went to a wedding and the reception following. The courtyard is very nice. The parking was secure. And the dining room ballroom was spacious. The food was great. I recommend it highly
Diane Allen: Great team of people. We had our corporate holiday party here. Well organized and run. The food was perfect!
Chris Malm: A great place for a party a wedding or any other thing
Ada Koch: Feast of Fancy made our event spectacular! Each dish was memorable and the arrangement looked especially attractive in the Amigoni setting. We had such a nice variety for our friends who all have different food preferences and plenty of food for all. Many many guests asked who did the food and we were pleased to refer the name to them!We appreciated all the good care and attention to the smallest details-timing, cleanliness, -can’t say enough good things!

Todd Hall: My wife and I stopped in for lunch this past Saturday at around 3:30pm. There were three other occupied tables in the restaurant. We were sat at a table that looked toward the bar. The server quickly came over and took our drink orders. As time passed and no drinks, we looked toward the bar and noticed that the bartender was on her phone, then switched to creating schedules for the following week, and then stopped to speak to other employees. In the meantime...no drinks. Embarrassed, the server came over and apologized, and said we'd have our order shortly. A few minutes later he showed up with our drinks (glass of wine and a beer) and apologized that the bartender did not provide a glass - he'd go back and get one. Now the bartender was on the house phone and was totally oblivious of servers & customers. Disgusted, my wife went over to the bar and picked up a glass from a stack of glasses and returned to the table. Immediately, the bartender shouted.. "Mam..you cant do that!" and literally ran out from behind the bar, grabbed a glass and said "This drink needs a specific glass!" and began to berate us (at volumn level 10) in front of customers and employees. My wife said "You're getting loud...getting loud" And the bartender screamed "Oh..I can get louder!!" After she left, the server, who was mortified, came over and apologized over and over again. He then went over to notify the manager of the situation and told us he did so. Never once did the manager acknowledge us, or address the issue. Needless to say, we made a point to speak with him before we left.We have been regular customers of this restaurant and were/are outright appauled at the gross unprofessionalism of both the bartender...and the Manager. We will not eat there again.

Cellar 222: what do users think?
Engraveable Creations Personalized Cutting Boards: We had our wedding ceremony, and reception at Cellar 222 in June 2023. We picked this venue because of the urban feel, great location and price, the minimal decorating we had to do. Everything was easy and seamless from the very beginning. Steve is awesome to work with and very fast at responding to any and all questions, as well as offering helpful advice. We were told from the beginning that they were very flexible and easy-going, and we found that to be true through the whole planning . We had about 80 people at our wedding, We were able to bring in all of our own alcohol, we just had to use a licensed bar tending service. We were also able to use the licensed caterer of our choice. The venue itself is beautiful, we really just added a few decorations to make it more personal for us. There is a parking lot available for guests to use during the event, which is really nice for being in a downtown location, We could not have been happier with this venue for our wedding. Our family and friends had lots of compliments on how it looked. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone planning a wedding. Thank you for making our day perfect.
Jason Harvey: Steve was very prompt and helpful during the entire process. We immediately fell in love with the unique setup. The beautiful venue has all the amenities one could need. Plenty of tables, space, and decor that made our wedding perfect!!Thank you Steve!
Rachel Mahoney: I had my wedding at Cellar 222 and loved it. Steve did a great job answering all my questions. He had amazing recommendations that I went with and it was the best day of my life. When I texted or emailed Steve he was quick to answer and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend using Cellar 222 for your event space!
Brittany Staley: Cinco de mayo/Star Wars wedding. It was easy to book, very friendly, amazing bridal suite, awesome kitchen for the caterers and spectacular set up for the bartenders. A stage for the bar and a beautiful fireplace for ceremony. Nothing but an awesome experience, the owner will help with any questions and even called the linen company for me because they couldn't get it together! We had an unforgettable experience here with Steve (:
Candace Harris: We can not say enough great things about the venue and its fantastic owner Steve. Every step of the way Steve was punctual helpful, easy going, and made fantastic recommendations for local vendors. On the day of the wedding Steve was with us for pretty much everything, happily helping to help resolve any issues with decor, vendors or managing our family. The tables, chairs, and sound system were all top notch. We do recommend making a plan for parking depending on the time of your event.
dave mora: WEDDING, DANCING AND DINNER
Jessica Sanders: really cute intimate venue with accomadating space.
Ashley Hunter: Steve (the owner) was so great to work with. He was quick to respond to my initial emails asking for details about the venue and all my questions throughout the planning process. He provided so many good tips and made us feel very relaxed about the wedding process. We visited the venue several times before the day of our wedding and Steve was great at answering our questions and helping to plan everything out. On the day of the wedding, he sent me a text letting me know everything was set up and ready to go and it was a relief. Our wedding was great and we got so many compliments on Cellar 222. It is so naturally beautiful so there wasn't much extra decorating for us to do. Overall, a beautiful and great venue. Such a great experience and I will continue to recommend to those looking for wedding venues.
Hanna Gore: We had a smaller wedding (50ish people) and this venue was everything we needed and more! Steve was great to work with and was super calm during the entire process. I toured the venue a few different times with friends and family and he was always so patient with me. The venue looked incredible for our actual wedding and they did a great job of flipping the space between the ceremony and reception. If you are looking for a laid back space that has incredible preferred vendors (catering, bar, and linens) look no further than Cellar 222.
Chad Bruton: We used Cellar 222 for our wedding reception in March of 2023. We hosted a cocktail style reception with a full bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and a 6 piece band for slightly over 150 guests. We had a lot of people in the space, yet it never seemed too crowded. The two floors allowed our guests to spread out and created some separation for those that wanted to dance the night away with the band upstairs (shout out to KC All-Stars) and those who wanted to spend the time talking in the more subdued downstairs. It was an amazing evening and we could not be happier with Cellar 222. Steve did a great job of supporting us and giving us advice along the way. The venue is beautiful and needs no decoration, although we added a few just make it extra special...including lots of candles! From the moment we walked through the space for our initial tour we knew it was the right spot for our event.Aside from the venue being turnkey ready some of the definite benefits of this venue is the flexibility you have to use outside vendors. We opted to use several of the preferred vendors that Steve provided us and they too were awesome to work with (shout out to Top Shelf Bartending, Dutzel Catering, and Sugar Beats Bake Shop). Additionally, as a gay couple we are always attuned to how welcoming the vendors we worked with seemed in the process. Not all businesses are as open minded as we would hope and it was import to us to work with people who are supportive of our tribe. From the start Steve was awesome to work with and it was definitely apparent he was a supportive ally. We honestly have not one concern, complaint, or issue and highly recommend Cellar 222! Cellar 222 is beautiful, affordance, flexible, and in a great location with lots of parking for guests. You will not be disappointed!
Katherine Forrister: Cellar 222 is an absolutely beautiful space. For our small wedding of only 15 guests, we wanted a venue that didn't feel cavernous, but was large and elegant enough to fit the special occasion. While this venue can hold a lot more people, its layout and Tuscan wine cellar decor made it feel cozy and intimate for our ceremony and reception. In fact, the furniture and decor along the walls are so beautiful that we didn't need to bring many decorations of our own, which was perfect since we were trying to keep our day as easy and low-stress as possible. The owner, Steve, is AMAZING. He is so kind and easygoing, and we knew the moment we met him and saw the venue that Cellar 222 was the way to go. He recommended great vendors that frequently work with the venue so the planning process was a breeze, but we also appreciated the flexibility of choosing our own bakery for the cake. Overall, I am SO glad that we chose Cellar 222 for our wedding. I felt so pretty coming down the staircase in my dress to walk down the aisle, and everyone loved the reception that followed and kept talking about how beautiful and unique the venue is. Thank you, Cellar 222!
David Ficklin: The perfect setting for our wedding! Having hosted 100’s of weddings, Steve kept us relaxed and made the whole planning process fun and easy! We can’t recommend Cellar222 enough!
Timmy Gibson: As a Wedding Officiant here in Kansas City I get to see so many beautiful Wedding Spaces and Cellar 222 is super freakin cool. It's got such a unique quaint feel with the multiple levels, slight industrial feel with open high ceilings and that stone Fireplace is magical. Steve is always present and accommodating. I would definitely recommend you schedule a tour and see if Cellar 222 will fit your needs, you'll be impressed.
Jamie Lee: Cute spot for a more intimate wedding.
Keisha Johnson: Cellar 222 was such a elegant and intimate venue for our wedding. I felt like a princess. We did not have to use alot of decor because the venue was such a beautiful space. Steve is such an amazing person to work with and he made sure that all my needs were met. He gave me great ideas and he was so easy to communicate with. I received so many compliments about the venue choice and how beautiful our wedding was.
Taylor Lane Gilmore: We couldn’t be more grateful for Steve and Cellar 222 for making our 4-week, whirlwind wedding planning process a reality! My husband and I are expecting a baby boy in the spring, and decided after many years together that we would, in fact, like to get married and throw together a wedding prior to the birth of our son. A quick Google search connected me with Steve and Cellar 222, and within a week of being engaged we secured the venue and got to planning. Steve was communicative and helpful throughout. His recommendations and preferred vendor list made the process easy and affordable. We had an intimate ceremony and dinner by the fireplace, followed by a larger party upstairs complete with DJ and open bar. We could never have imagined how well, beautiful, and FUN it would have turned out, and would not have been able to pull it off without Steve. Would recommend again and again, especially for a cozy, winter party like the one we had. Thank you, Steven and Cellar 222!
Megan C: Cellar 222 was the perfect venue for our wedding 11/12/22. Steven was amazing and very helpful. We used his vendor recommendations and everything went smoothly on our wedding day. It was the best experience and I highly recommend to any future couples!
Alexandra Eddy: I recently had my wedding here on 12/3. I had about 60 people and felt the venue was the perfect size. My husband and I are pretty laid back and minimalistic, so we were looking for a venue that didn’t require us to do much. We brought very little decor because the venue is stunning on its own.Steve and his vendors were amazing. I felt I was in good hands the entire night, and it allowed me to enjoy my wedding/reception. My goal was to be able to have fun and celebrate with family. All the work he and his vendors did made that happen for me. All my guests had a great time. If I had to do it over, I would 110% use this venue again.I truly have nothing but great things to say about this venue, and highly recommend it for anyone looking for event space.
Melissa Awbrey: Highly recommend Cellar 222!! We recently held both our wedding ceremony and reception at Cellar 222 and could not be more pleased with our decision to use this venue. It was quaint, charming and perfect for our Christmas season wedding. The owner, Steven, was incredibly easy to work with, responded extremely timely to all of my inquiries and left me feeling relaxed through the entire venue booking process to the end of our special night. All of my guests remarked on how much they enjoyed our wedding venue choice.
Grant Macdonnell: Great location
Eric Francis: My wife and I utilized Cellar 222 for a rehearsal dinner/welcome party the evening before our wedding, and could not have asked for a better experience. Steven was great to work with and extremely accommodating, while making sure our event was perfect! Additionally, it was an absolutely beautiful space and never felt crowded with our group of roughly 100 individuals. I HIGHLY recommend Cellar 222 for any event!!

Affäre: what do users think?
Patrick Walker: A nice, updated take on the typical schnitzel and sausage fare you typically find in German restaurants. The brat trio was delicately flavored and nicely sauced. Preferable to the seafood risotto dish, which was competently executed, but nothing beyond what you’d find in another good local restaurant. The Painted Table dessert was remarkable in sweet flavors and in flame-illuminated presentation. Truly unique.
Jess Len: WOW. WOW. WOW. Enough said! Wow! The food was amazing! Came here on a Saturday evening as a lovely double date night and we were all so impressed! Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for the BEST German food! Thank you for such a great experience and I cannot wait to come back and have some more!
Kathleen Watson: Recommended dishes Jager Schnitzel, Wine PairingMore
James Symmonds: Looks like it would be a nice date spot. Bartenders are really nice and the owners are around. Update: I still have yet to have a date to bring in but it would still be a good date place.
Brit Ann: Truly a treat to go to Affare. You definitely don't get the chain vibe from this place that even some of the more high end places give off around KC which is nice. Service was amazing and the food was great. High quality ingredients with mixtures of flavors that you don't expect and they still somehow taste amazing together. We got the Hummer Poutine, Risotto von Meeresfruchten, and Jakobsmuscheln mit Entenleber. It all was so good - loved the seafood. I'd probably go for a lighter starter next time but we were curious about lobster poutine.
Brent Sear: came to affare for a baby shower. the outdoor courtyard is great.
Brien Barnett: Recommended dishes Jager Schnitzel, Black Forest Cake, Wine Pairing, Painted Table Dessert, The Painted Table, Charcuterie PlatterMore
Sherry Smith: I would give this restaurant 100 stars. The food is excellent. The Jager Schnitzel was crispy and the meat was tender. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the morels and white asparagus. On top of truly wonderful cuisine, the service was outstanding.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Woodsie Woods: First time and it was great. Ordered off their new seasonal “white asparagus” menu. The white asparagus soup had a nice deep flavor but was a tad too salty. I was very excited to see morel mushrooms on the menu with the white asparagus and morel mushroom spatzle. This dish had a nice sherry cream sauce, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the morel mushrooms. Overall pleased with the quality, especially with these recipes being a fairly new addition.
Racheal Soendker: Truly one of the best restaurants in KC. Make a reservation to ensure you can be seated. Especially on the weekends. This is not a place to go if you are I'm a rush. They know how to time the dishes so you are sure to be finished with appetizers before the next course is brought out. They give you time to enjoy each course. If you choose to do a bottle of wine, the server is good about coming back to pour it timely. And the food is amazing. If you can, make sure you get there in the spring for the white asparagus menu. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Shiona Deliozar: The service was excellent and the staff was really awesome and attentive. We thought the tasting menu itself was pretty average for the price. Everything tasted fresh but kind of lackluster, especially the apps and dessert and the Black Forest cake didn’t really have the layer of cherries like it’s supposed to. Still happy to try the place out with my hubby for my birthday dinner. We spent around $150 and left very full and satisfied.
Daniel Purdom: Not really a review (always 5 🌟). Free parking at 1801 Walnut St by the Community America branch and covered garage parking around the corner at Corrigan Station Garage. 1827 Walnut St, Kansas City, MO 64108 for $5
Eunice P: The tartar was very yummy though a bit too salty. The veal schnitzel was dry, overdone, and a bit bland and the condiments and cucumber salad too sour. The beef roulade was like fancy meat loaf and tasted okay. The cabbage was delicious, but, again, a bit on the sour side considering it took up the majority of the plate. The drinks, vibe, and service were fantastic. I would have rated this a 4/5 but one of our party had stomach issues after eating the beef roulade and cabbage. I may give this place another try, but probably not for a while.
Victoria Salinas: Enjoyed a wonderful meal! The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was exceptional.
Peggy Lukken: The food is authentic German fare, freshly made and delicious. As always, the service was on point, with knowledgeable and attentive servers. hopperado: One of the "most Italian" restaurants I have ever been in the US. Quality of food proves the cook is either Italian or got an Italian mentor. Very efficient service, offering options to all possible allergies or other special preferences.Atmosphere is somewhat missing though, maybe because black and white photos everywhere make it monotonous.
Chad Phillips: Great food and wine, as always!
Amanda Fellows: I was in town with some friends and was so excited to try Garozzos's. The menu had so many delicious looking options. Sadly I found nearly everything disappointing. I was most excited to try the Sicilian stuffed artichoke; shrimp, prosciutto, garlic, butter, melted provolone, breadcrumbs. How could you go wrong, right? By overshadowing all the delicious ingredients with over half the stuffing being soggy breadcrumbs. Every bite was like salty cream of wheat. I don't understand, there was no need for all that filler and it just ruined the dish for me.For my entrée I had the chicken spiedini Samantha. Sadly, I had a similar issue as the appetizer. The spiedini is described as "Marinated Chicken Breast Rolled in Italian Bread Crumbs, Skewered and Grilled." I guess I misunderstood what they meant by "rolled" in breadcrumbs. I was expecting chunks of chicken lightly breaded, instead it was several thin slices of chicken rolled up with more of the soggy breadcrumbs. If the breadcrumbs had just been on the outside, and I hadn't already been overwhelmed with them on the appetizer, I don't think it would have been a problem. But with the breadcrumbs rolled up inside the slices of chicken they didn't get crispy but again were the texture of cream of wheat. I didn't think the alfredo sauce was anything special and there was only 3-4 artichoke hearts.Several of my friends and I ordered glasses of the house Cabernet Sauvignon. This was the highlight of the meal. I don't usually order house wine because I don't expect it to be very good. But this was so good I ordered a second glass. For an end of meal cocktail, I ordered the espresso martini. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was quite good. Just a little heavy on the cream for my taste. For dessert several of us ordered the limoncello cake to go. It was good but we were disappointed it didn't come with the raspberry sauce listed on the menu. We all thought it would have been better with the sauce. One of the reasons we chose Garozzos's was due to dietary restrictions. Their menu very clearly marks vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. My friend said her gluten free pasta dish was really good. *This is why I rated a second star.Another friend ordered the Pasta con Broccoli alla Balano (broccoli and mushroom pasta with a tomato cream sauce). She enjoyed it and the bite I tried was good although oddly sweet, perhaps again too much cream for my taste.A couple of things to note, the portions are huge and they do offer half portions. I wish I'd taken advantage of that. Also, be aware that a side salad is not included. My side caesar salad cost an extra $6.50.I'm not usually this picky but, after tax and tip, I spent over $100 for my meal alone. For me that's a splurge and I had higher expectations.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options clearly marked on the menu.
Benjamin S: One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life, truly. I had a spiedini, garlic bread, and the meatballs for an app. I eat out 2-3 nights a week on the road, I can’t honestly tell you I’ve ever had anything better. The vibe feels like I stepped into the middle of the movie Goodfellas. Frank Sinatra playing, low lighting, pics of a variety of known (and unknown) people adorn the walls like wallpaper. My flight was cancelled and I was stuck in KC, this place made me happy to be there. I wish they had more restaurants, but I’ll be making a trip with my girlfriend just to eat here when we get the time…and it’ll be well worth the trip. A must experience!!!Update (June2023): I was in KC for a week and was fortunate enough to eat here twice during the week. The Georgio is indescribably tasty. With the wedge salad (out of this world) and cheesy garlic bread as an app, it’s an amazing meal. There’s only two complaints I have: 1.) there isn’t one in Pittsburgh and 2.) I’m so full from the meal I haven’t been able to get dessert! Seriously, I wish you all would venture east…there’s nothing anywhere close to this place out here!!!!

The American: what do users think?
Daniel Dorgan: vary buityfull
Marc Mc: Beautiful overlook of KC and really well decorated venue. We were here for a wedding, most of the food was good, avoid the chicken though. Service is wanting here however, very difficult to get served basic things and they seemed to be lacking a bunch at the bar. Lemons, limes and most drinks weren't well stocked.
Rathera Div Plays: Great
Dee: The ambiance was amazing. The outdoor patio seating made it comfortable and safe. The J-Love band was amazing and the wine selection. I wish they had a better menu but the food was good. Overall it was a great date night for us!
Jose Byrd: Visited during a recent large party business trip. The views from the two level dining hall were so elegant, especially during Christmas time. Near the window you could see skaters at the local outdoor ice rink and the bright holiday lights that decorated Crown Plaza. The meal was quite good, although the bread served was burnt on the crust and no one (after 3 asks) seemed to remember to get my hot tea after the meal. A great place for that special holiday meal.
Lloyd Jasper: Many think of fine dining as passé. They may be right in terms of available restaurants, especially outside of NYC and LA. The American Restaurant in Kansas City is closing after 43 years in business at Crown Center. So if you are a big fan of the place or want to eat at the last vestige of fine dining in KC--you better hurry. We opted for the three course pre-fixe menu which had five different choices for each of the three courses. If you are not used to fine dining the service is slower and more relaxed. That doesn't mean the servers are not attentive, but you won't feel as rushed. Food here was top notch with a wine selection that is unparalleled. This unfortunately will be our first and last time as we live Hawaii. If you live nearby and like fine dining, this will be your last chance.
Maria Ahumada: I was on a business trip on my own and decided to see what The American Restaurant was like. I didn't realize how fancy it was and first thought it was out of my price range. The host was very helpful and suggested the lounge area and menu. They offer small plates in a pick and choose style of ordering. I had the duck egg, sablefish and octopus. All were excellent. The waitstaff were really nice and helpful in choosing my dishes. I highly recommend to experience!
Mighty 2: Excellent food and service. If you haven't been, it is a must see and eat.
Broken Heart: Nice place romantic
PEDRO NAVA ALVAREZ: Very nice place and clean I recommend 100%
Mohammad Sanusi: Nice place...
C Schrock: Very nice and clean place!
Carolyn Vines: Like other reviewers have said, the food in taste wasn't mind blowing like I was expecting for the price. The view was great, but the waitstaff could have been more uniform. If everyone served the same way it would be one thing. Only one server was 5 star elegant and eloquent. The others were 3 star at best. Otherwise, excellent service, and a great place to take your friends. :)
Funny Bollywood: Good
edward ramzy: Out dated, low end, but accessable
Azhar Shakil: Wow i like this restaurant
Manab Roy: Very nice
alex chino: "Only thing that beats their service is the food!"
João Carlos Figueiredo: Nice food
Walter Earenfight: "Great ambiance, great service, great food, great drinks.""We finished, and waited another 20 minutes for the server to bring us a check
Woody Fisher: Quaint, romantic and fantastic food!

Rye Plaza: what do users think?
Jim Nance: Our experience was very disappointing. We had chicken and dumplings and the "world famous" chicken. Neither meal was anything special and definitely not worth the price. As far as a steak .... 100.00 bucks...nope. Staff was nice but again just ordinary. We actual had better staff and food at KCI airport on the way home. I would not recommend.

J Barce: My wife and I took advantage of the VerizonUp deal. The VerizonUp menu is very limited, which is fair. We ordered the hanger steak, lemon pie and the banana cream pie.The steak was bland... flavorless. The desserts were just simply not good. We did order the burnt ends off of the regular menu, we did enjoy these very much. I also tried their old fashioned and the "barrel aged old square" cocktails. Both drinks were fine, but you can find better tasting drinks for less all over KC. Customer service was good, our waitress did well and the hostesses were friendly.

B. MIchael McFarland: We started with craft cocktails which were delicious and exactly to order. The whipped goat cheese appetizer was a wonderful blend of the sweetness of honey with the tart earthiness of the cheese. The deviled eggs were enormous, and the filling was creamy and not overly mustardy as some deviled eggs can be. The wedge salad was fine, though somewhat quotidian and lacked sufficient dressing. There is a reason that at almost every single table in the restaurant someone ordered the fried chicken. If you grew up eating delicious fried chicken made by someone who knew how to make delicious fried chicken, you will not be disappointed. This is among the best friend chicken I've had in Kansas City. Instead of dessert, I opted for the This Is Bananas cocktail, which is sublime. The staff was wonderful: attentive without being overbearing and extremely knowledgeable about the menu.

The Terrace on Grand: what do users think?
Ranani Ferguson: i aint going
Thomas: Our son's and new daughter's wedding was beautiful. The meal was fantastic. The event staff provided excellent service and worked like a professional well oiled machine.
Brian Chaussee: Amazing place for a venue! You cannot beat the view of the Kansas City sky from the rooftop!
Tully Minoski: My wife and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary, an occasion that caused us to reflect back on the previous year and on our wedding day.In doing so, we couldn’t stop thinking about our amazing venue (Terrace on Grand) and its amazing staff—Heather in particular—who could not have done more to make our wedding so special. We are so so so lucky to have had our wedding here, and would highly recommend you do the same.
Andrea: Beautiful venue and amazing staff!!!!
Ryan Kulke: Beautiful event space with a great rooftop
Dan Hummell: A nice place for a wedding. Nice rooftop view of the KC skyline.
Sharon Holmes: This place was beyond amazing!!!! The staff was some of the best I've ever dealt with as for as party planning goes. They were there every step of the way for my event! And the service was beyond! The folks they have working there really enjoy what they do! They made my guest feel comfortable and they are all SUPER FUN!!! The food was delicious and everyone was so incredibly helpful! I will be using them again!
Ann Coleman: The food was delicious. The service was great. Friendly and courteous.
Chuck Kral: A very nice venue for the wedding.
Erin Minoski: We had our wedding at The Terrace on Grand, and would highly recommend this venue. We were sold right away on the rooftop, location, and service after initially meeting with Heather to tour the venue. The rest of the staff and service continued to be excellent throughout the whole process. The venue itself was incredible. Amazing rooftop, and very cool ballroom reception area downstairs. We had some unique ideas we wanted to try how we set up and planned our reception, and they worked with us to make every idea happen just as we had pictured it. It could not have run more smoothly the day-of, and we didn't need to worry about a thing. We had some unexpected hitches pop up at the start of the reception, and they handled that beautifully keeping everything moving like pros. They worked with all of our vendors to make everything run smooth the day-of, and didn't bat an eye at any request or idea we threw out.
Regan Pettijohn: I can't ever, ever, ever say enough wonderful things about this place! I will book every party I ever have here. The staff is amazing, the venue gorgeous, the views are to die for, and their in house food is *chef's kiss!
Christina Martin: This is a beautiful wedding venue! The staff is very professional and friendly. I highly recommend having your special day here!
Chris Stone: Awesome venue for events with a beautiful rooftop overlooking the cityscape of Kansas city. From a rooftop space to a beautiful event space on the third floor. They also have another floor for the hosting party to use for changing and private purposes. Elevator for use to each floor and friendly staff catering to all your needs. I enjoyed the wedding I attended here and loved the decor. The rooftop space isn't incredibly large but hosts quite a bit of people. The event space on the 3rd floor is larger and has clean bathrooms. Worth taking a look of you are wanting to have a wedding or event.
Erin Reynolds: Attended at beautiful wedding here, intimate and charming with great views of the city.
Sammi Rich: I have no words for how amazing Heather and Kelsi are. They’ll go over and beyond for you like you guys are family. Their energy and passion for this industry makes everything worthwhile. They are true gems 💎
Ralph Keeton: Nice place for a family or business gathering.
