Our wedding day was perfect because of The Pavilion Event Space. Can’t say better things about this venue and the people!!

Anthony Serrano: Where to start.... I just got married on the 10/22/2022 and from the start we had amazing service from the owner all the way down to the day of planner. Desitny is amazing person don't let the tattoos and face piercing fool you. She will bend over backwards for you just to make your day special and make sure your vision comes to life. If use great venders, it makes her job easy, which makes your wedding day go smooth. Great staff all way around. The whole staff will make sure your wedding day amazing. Brent Lager: My new wife and I simply can not say enough amazing things about Mackenzie, Taylor and the entire staff at 28 Event Space. We had a big wedding (near 250) and they made it so easy and stress free for us. They were flexible, honest and just gave off the best energy throughout the entire process. From the day we toured to the moment we left the day after the wedding, they were great to us. And the space is absolutely perfect for every phase of the wedding experience. We'd absolutely love it, and would recommend them for whatever your needs are. Great people, great place, great experience!

Lyndsee Johnson: I toured 6 venues and could not find a better event space in the KC metro than 28 Event Space. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and extremely easy to work with. I think I asked them hundreds of questions leading up to our big day, to which they were immediately responsive, attentive, and extremely helpful. The bartenders included in our package were awesome and went above and beyond as they were willing to make all of our old fashioned's for our signature drink for our pup ("Otis Fashioned")! The Station was everything we had wished and hoped for - I would recommend to any couple looking for a place for their dream wedding! :)

Kim Philip: This was the absolute BEST RECEPTION SITE we could have ever imagined! It worked for every member of our family! The staff was awesome, especially the three bartenders we had, and the back rooms and bedrooms were perfect for elderly family members to relax in during the reception and for the wedding party to prep in before and after the ceremony. It was just the most perfect venue for us!!! We loved it!!!

Leah Berg: I think 28 Event Space is the best value venue in downtown KC. I did extensive research on venues in downtown KC for my wedding, and no one could compete with 28 Event Space’s price for everything that is included. A few of the main selling points for me were that our rental included a DJ, party bus, bride/groom getting ready suite, overnight access, use of your own vendors, and the ability to bring your own alcohol. They are the only venue in downtown KC (to my knowledge) to offer all of this, and at an incredibly fair price.In addition to all of this, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. We went with The Station which has an elegant marble backdrop as the centerpiece of the room. Everything is so updated and modern, which is exactly what we were looking for in a venue. The managers Mackenzie and Taylor are also incredibly responsive which is a must for wedding planning. They gave me a number to text with any questions and they almost always responded within ours. We mainly worked with Taylor, and she was so flexible with all of our requests. I can’t recommend 28 Event Space enough.

Sami H.: This is by far one of the best wedding venues in Kansas City. It is family owned and run with the clients’ best interests in mind. It is a one stop shop in terms of ability to hold the ceremony, photography, as well as the reception. The building is considered historic to Kansas City, and the owners have taken great care to maintain the vintage architecture and atmosphere. They collaborated with all of us to ensure that it truly was the best day ever.

Jera Glover: Let us start off with saying, if you are planning a wedding there are no two people who could be more instrumental in making your day a dream come true than Jodie and Eric. For us having COVID post pone our wedding was a nightmare. Insert Jodie and Eric to the rescue!! They made our special day well worth the wait. Jodie and Eric started out as our event space coordinators and quickly became like family. The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel will forever hold a special place in our hearts because of Jodie and Eric. Their loving personalities, warm hearts, hilarious sense of humor, infectious spirits and organizational skills set the bar out of reach. We were in awe of the amazing atmosphere they created for our day. The chapel was breathtaking, the reception hall was like a movie. Jodie and Eric made our day run like clockwork. Directing, coordinating, and facilitating our bridal party, our family and friends gave way to the best night of our lives. We are so blessed to have met them, but thankful to have gotten to know them, and grateful to never ever forget them. We can not say thank you to them enough because that just wouldn't be enough for everything they did for us. Jodie and Eric and the DeLeon provided us with a one of a kind experience that was truly unbelievable. We met them a year in advance and by the time it was our wedding date it felt like they were family. Both of them go above and beyond to be sure your wedding is everything you could envision it to be. They are both so professional and help guide you to having a perfect wedding. Any questions or concerns you have they are always there to help. They are easy to talk to you and don’t make you feel silly for asking questions. They understand this may not be anything you have done before and re-assure you that this is their job to help and guide you to you perfect day. I was expecting my wedding to be stressful, time consuming, and downright hard to plan but when we booked at The Deleon everything leading up to our wedding date fell into place like clockwork and was so simple. The time Eric and Jodie dedicated to us was heart felt. It was honestly hard to believe they were working with other brides and grooms along with us. The day of our wedding went flawlessly. Everything we worked so hard for the last year came into place perfectly. All of our fears were gone and we are able to enjoy our big day. All of our guests commented on how much fun and well organized the wedding was. This is a testament to Eric and Jodie and we could not stop thanking them for their professionalism and help throughout our wedding day. If anyone were to ask us where to have their wedding, we would say the DeLeon because of Eric and Jodie. They made our wedding fun, smooth and a day we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Stephanie Rennie: When I was looking for a wedding venue, I had a lot of wants and needs. Most places were too expensive for just the space with no tables and chairs or linens etc. then I fell upon the DeLeon. It looked amazing inside and Jodie and Eric were so kind and welcoming. I had a million questions that they took their time to answer and were very up front about all costs so there were no surprises. I also didn’t want to spend a year planning, I wanted it to all be done in the beginning so I could just wait for the day and enjoy it. They gave me a full list of vendors that they knew would go off without a hitch. And they were right. Every single person I used was excellent. Not only that but they decorated the whole place to my specifications. I got to choose what I wanted and it was all set on the day. They were also my coordinators, checkin hosts and security. My whole experience before the wedding made me feel like I was the only bride. It was so personal and enjoyable to work with these two. Then on the wedding they ran everything like clockwork and helped make sure I was taken care of. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience so next time you’re looking for an easy worry free wedding that’s exactly what you want, call Jodie and Eric. Did I mention I was a pain in Jodie’s butt constantly messaging her with updates and questions and not only was she responsive, she was so positive about it all. Yeah they are awesome and the venue is lovely!
Kelly Kaminski: I don't even know where to begin! Jodie and Eric are the best! I live out of state and when looking for venues I saw The DeLeon and fell in love with it. I booked an appointment to see the venue and after meeting Jodie and Eric and seeing the venue in person, I knew I had to book. From the very beginning they have been there for me. They know what they are doing and you can tell they love doing it. Living out of state makes planning a wedding a bit difficult, however they gave me a list of excellent vendors and that made everything so much easier. Any question I had was answered right away and everything seemed to be going well. Then the pandemic hit. We were at our two week out meeting with Jodie and I was having a complete melt down. I will never be able to thank Jodie enough for how she treated me that day. She is the absolute best! A couple days later we have to postpone the wedding. It's not what we wanted to do but we didn't really have a choice. Jodie was very accommodating during this unprecedented time. We rescheduled the wedding and was able to reschedule all the vendors as well for the new date. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and all I can say is that had I not had Jodie there, the wedding would have been a disaster. I was so overwhelmed with everything going on and Jodie was there the whole time to make sure we stayed on schedule and everything went perfect for our special day. I highly recommend The DeLeon Event Space, the venue is absolutely beautiful and the owners are great. If you do book with them, please listen to them about which vendors to use. They know what they are talking about.

mildred webster: Did not even want to give one star. Lost every single penny we worked so hard for. We have 5 beautiful children and planned this perfect wedding FOR YEARS. "National Pandemic" happens and everything is turned upside down. This of course is out of The owners and I control, but instead of offering us a refund of any amount, we are told to choose between July and August or lose everything. This day meant more to us than we should even have to explain. We wanted this to be perfect, Instead, the year doesn't work for us outside of the day we paid for and the owner begins to tell us about a "contract" that we signed that had no listing of anything out of our control except deployment. ooops she did include death on a facebook post. We worked numerous jobs in and out to make this one day extra special and the venue takes everything we worked so hard for and we do not get to experience this one special day. She stated the governor only "SUGGESTED" a limited amount of people. Well i have two children with Aarskog syndrome who are high risk and could not even leave the house. (so have a wedding w/o two of my children nor my family and friends just so we dont lose out on our money) not knowing when this will even end. Please dont waste money or time, she would rather argue (her way or the highway) per her contract than show any empathy or compassion. Of course she would like to talk about not cancelling our wedding due to split payments because now look, she has every penny requested and we are out every single dime and no wedding.everything was perfect until we requested a refund due to none of our family, friends AND TWO CHILDREN not being able to attend having to reschedule with work, flights etcccc. due to this horrific "National Pandemic" steer clear because if anything in the world happens THEY DO NOT CARE, unless deployed or a spouse passes away.
Gabrielle: Married at this venue on 2/29/2020, and WOW! The owners made me feel like family, the amount of decor that comes with the package, the service, and how they cared for me as the bride was phenomenal. I highly recommend this family and their location.
Angela Williamson: We got married December 14th. Eric and Jodie made it the smoothest and special experience we could ever ask for. They helped us plan everything and took it all off our hands. With my husband working way to many hours at work and me going to school full time we couldn't have done it without Eric and Jodie. They spent the extra time to make everything just how we wanted it. We decided to spend the extra money on the venue and it was definitely worth it. They also made sure everything went PERFECTLY the day of. If you are looking for a venue I promise you The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel will be the best and most cost effective choice you can make.

I called many venues and had a hard time getting anyone to call me back. Jodie was the only person to answer my call on the 1st time, she was actually preparing for one of the wedding expo's, I could hear the commotion in the background. She promised she would reach back out to me the following day and she did! Instantly I new that she does what she does because she loves it, I could hear it in her tone. The moment we toured The DeLeon, we knew it was where we wanted to have our family & friends gather for our big day. The venue is so elegant, romantic and gorgeous! Jodie & Eric were so helpful during the planning process. I reached out for recommendations, ideas, referrals and they always answered quickly. They made me feel like our wedding was important to them, and it was. The day of our wedding Jodie & Eric just took over. Communication was key to them knowing what you want for your day and when I say they deliver, they absolutely DELIVERED! Our wedding day felt very organized and our guest raved about how gorgeous the venue was and how helpful, kind, pleasant, sweet and mindful Jodie and Eric were. My favorite take away from Jodie and Eric is right before I walked down the isle, Eric fixed the train of my dress and Jodie looked at me as if I was family, I almost got a tear out of her right before she said "are you ready?" Jodie & Eric, Thank you for taking care of us and our guest on such a memorable day for us! You and your team went above & beyond our expectations. One more thing, Eric, Thank your for letting our son hang out with you all evening. He had a blast!
Roger McDowell: We used the DeLeon for our oldest daughter's wedding in July 2018, and then our second daughter also selected the DeLeon for her wedding in Dec. 2019. If you want a classy wedding/reception venue with all the amenities, then it's hard to beat the DeLeon. However, it's really the people behind the venue that make all the difference. Eric and Jodie are amazing! Their support/guidance throughout the planning process as well as their best in class management of the actual event helped ensure a stress free experience for my family so we could embrace the day. Their knowledge, experience, and passion for excellence are second to none. Eric and Jodie are like family to us and if we had another daughter we would select The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel again.Thank You Eric and Jodie!

Esperanza Vite: Beautiful & Simple.Fun downtown view, elevator available, getting ready room, bar, and large open room with a luxury modern feel.Parking is a bit tough so Uber or shuttle is easier unless you don’t mind walking to a lot.

We were forced to postpone our wedding for 3 years across three different dates and it was no issue for The Gallery, they were so understanding and accommodating.During the preparations, McCall was extremely helpful and her communication was awesome! She made us feel so confident that it would be a great day, and it was! The space looked gorgeous on the day and everything went flawlessly. From the food and the lighting, to the linens and layout The Gallery exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend The Gallery and McCall to anyone hosting an event.

Timmy Gibson: As a Wedding Officiant I've seen hundreds of venues and The Gallery is among the best in Kansas City. And one of the BIGGEST too. Not sure what their capacity is, but it's huge, but they can also divide it up to accommodate smaller weddings and it feels super intimate. It's very grand and classy and the staff are very helpful and easy to work with. I've done many weddings at the Gallery and have had a 5 Star Treatment every single time. I know you will love it. .

I'm looking forward to attending my coworker's wedding next spring to see how this space transforms for a romantic event. I've had the pleasure of working with McCall and can say that her love of weddings and keen eye for detail is only surpassed by her drive to offer the best experience possible. She will stop at nothing to ensure complete customer satisfaction...which spans from the time you meet her until after you say your last goodbye at the event. You will not be disappointed.
Julie Jerome: A nice open venue with street front full glass windows for day lighting and view. Seared tuna salad with Wasabi sauce topped with flash fried sprouts was truly delicious and an eye catching presentation. Space was rather chilly with the doors open in November. The self serve beverage station was lacking flare. Glassware was oddly placed behind the beverage table. Powder room was very dark, but there is a full length mirror which is a nice touch.
Shar S: We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner for about 100 guests at The Gallery and everything was perfect. From first contact, McCall Bodenhamer was superb to work with. Her organization and communication were both excellent...for a couple of rookies we knew we were in good hands with McCall. When we had our food tasting everything we tasted was really great. We received LOTS of compliments from our guests regarding the quality of the food. The location in Power & Light is perfect. The lights after dark provided a really great backdrop for our event and those who chose to "after-party" could just walk across the street. From beginning to end, the staff was great to work with and the servers were super friendly to everyone. We are extremely happy!
Debbie Adams: This event space was the only one in consideration for our Urban Planner bride and groom for the following reasons: Loved- *The intimate Killer Devil cocktail lounge *Reception area that is bright, great acoustics for a live band, beautiful and rare space for a group over 250. *All areas have fantastic views of beautifully lit city buildings seen from the interior and roomy balcony. *Quality of food was fantastic and matched the sample tasting. Nice variety of food to choose from. Space comes with a very helpful planner who was always responsive and a pleasure to work with!!!! What was also great and unique was having the ceremony at the nearby Green Roof Park. All city wedding!!!

McCall was nothing short of amazing, carefully listening to our requests, sharing options, and pulling everything together seamlessly. My favorite part was their “First Look” in the foyer that I watched from the rooftop patio... a close second was their father/daughter dance under the chandelier and pink ceiling lights. The location is great because its in an area that isn't overly busy in downtown KC, but close enough to quickly hop over to some of the more popular KC photo spots. OR, just stay in and around the venue as its absolutely gorgeous! Looking forward to working here again.
Whitney Buchmann: I've been here 3 times in as many months. It's such a relaxing environment with knowledgeable and friendly staff. There are great package options to combine different services and make a day of it! Don't pass on the VR meditation either. I was surprised how much the nature background elevated my relaxation and focus.

Amanda Turk: This place is quite literally the most perfect space to get married. Renee, the event planner, is absolutely amazing. She's incredibly responsive and helpful, and wildly nice. I felt at ease talking with her and asking her questions. I was thrilled with everything she did for us from the planning to the event to the cleanup. Kansas City Club is incredibly lucky to have her.The venue itself is so gorgeous, and there are a ton of spaces to choose from. One thing that's really cool about the place is their incredibly affordable a la carte option for rooms so you can pick and choose exactly what you want for your day. We used the main ballroom, the bar, and the groom's suite and it was perfect. We had our ceremony in the ballroom, followed by a cocktail hour in the bar, and then the reception with all of the eating and formal dances and whatnot back in the ballroom. The rest of the night people were scattered about the area, dancing, drinking, talking, and just having fun. The evening was truly beautiful and I'm so happy we got married there. As we walked out with our last box of decorations, I felt sad leaving. Thank you, Renee, for making our wedding everything we wanted plus so much more. I hope to be back very soon! (I already asked my husband if we could get married there again - you might not have gotten rid of us yet!)
Morgan Milligan: This event space is extremely elegant, and the suites are fantastic! For a group setting, the golf simulator is such a fun and interactive addition. I love that it still has a historic KC vibe to it, as well! Renee and her staff were beyond accommodating and welcoming.

Sarah Watts: We held my daughter’s ceremony and reception at the Kansas City Club. Renee and her team were flexible and accommodating, and made our day (and getting items in and out of the venue) easy. We chose this venue because we wanted a location that spoke of Kansas City, and this historic building did that. The quiet location in this part of the city is excellent and parking for guests was very easy and safe. Another aspect to consider when planning the wedding is where the bridal party and groomsmen will get ready. The Kansas City Club’s accommodations for this were unmatched as I looked at other venues. The groomsmen had a BLAST playing basketball, mini golf, and there was a kitchenette and showers for them to get ready. See the website for pictures; it was worth every penny! Downstairs, the bridal party had plenty of room, good lighting, and GIANT mirrors. I would recommend a mini fridge in the bridal suite, but it was a fabulous and convenient space. The guests really enjoyed the bar and commented on the beautiful woodwork and historic photos throughout.
DB: Very disappointing. I was talking and texting Renee about renting a space for July 16th. We scheduled a day and time to view the venue space. On the date scheduled, she texted stating she forgot the space would be in use during scheduled time and asked if we could reschedule for the following day at 11:30. No big deal, I agreed to the change. When I arrived today, she asked about my intended event date, I again told her July 16th. She said she thought I said December 11th and told me the space wasn't available for 7/16/2022, didn't even show us the space. Waste of time (40 minute drive), and money (gas and had to pay 5 dollars to park next door).

Delice Dominguez: Kanas City Club is the PERFECT venue, not only is it perfect, but Marvin and Deborah Williams from Shining Star Catering made it perfect for us. I live in Miami, Fl, and imagine planning your only daughter’s wedding from Miami in Kansas City with no wedding planner. No pressure, right! That’s what I did with the help of Marvin and Deborah. They both made it so easy and the communication was fast and on point. They both made themselves available at all times. The venue was gorgeous! Starting with the grand entrance, to the top of stairs, floors, casing around the doors, the list goes on and on. It’s a must see!!! The food from Shining Star Catering was so flavorful. Everyone was commenting on how great the food was (we had Italian). I could have not asked for a better turn out, and I owe it all to Marvin and Deborah. They made it possible to create a beautiful wedding for my daughter.
Julie Mae: Awesome food, service, and the atmosphere is quite unique. The building is more than a historical part of Kansas City. The club is full of rare art, books, and traditions a plenty. The new chef is extremely friendly and flexible - multiple times he has created a dish impromptu to please individual's who expressed interest in something that wasn't on the printed menu. Pretty neat!

We were coordinating an elopement ceremony from almost 200 miles away and convenience was really important to us. We were blown away with the service, care, attention to detail and true kindness from everyone! Communication ahead of the day was awesome - super clear and detailed. Our coordinator, Kristin, made us feel so welcome and special - like we were having coffee at the home of a dear friend. She made all our stress that day melt away. She took care of every single tiny detail - all the way down to ensuring our serving ware was clean and packed up before we left. We also adored the officiant and photographer. (Our photographer was such a pro! We looovvved her!!) Even our flowers were absolutely breathtaking! Everyone we met and worked with was absolutely perfect. We cannot recommend them all enough. Thank you, Vow Exchange, for making our once in a lifetime day even better than we could have ever dreamed!
Angela Harris: I booked this venue in May for my September wedding. I went to view the venue in June and I met with Kristin, I had a witness with me. I specifically asked her about my wedding cake and finger food. My question was can I bring in a small cake and finger sandwiches. Her response was "I like to tell people that you are renting the space and you can do whatever you want during the time of your rental, as long as it fits on the black table". I asked if I could bring my cake, she told me to bring it. I had spoken to Kristin a couple of times since my venue visit and she never told me anything different. I received an email from the venue reminding me that my final payment was due a couple of days prior to the due date and I made the payment thinking that everything was still okay. One week prior to my wedding date, I get a call from Kristin saying that she just wanted to make sure that I absolutely understood that no outside food could be brought in. I reminded her of our conversation during my visit and she said " I would never tell anyone that". I double checked with my witness and it was confirmed that I was told "bring your cake in". I told her that, if she would have told me that I would have booked a different venue. By now I had paid the full price of the rental and was told that I could not get any of the money back because it was less that 2 weeks before my event. I don't understand why she didn't make that call prior to the due date for my final payment instead of waiting until it was too late for a refund. I do not recommend this venue to anyone anymore. I actually advise people to steer clear.

The day of coordinators made everything run smoothly and it was such a stress free day. We picked the Bites and Beverages package and were not disappointed! We had so much food for our ~60 guests and plenty of beverages as well! The venue is the perfect backdrop for photos before, during, and after! I can't thank the staff enough for helping to make 2/15/20 the best day of my life!

We were sold right away on the rooftop, location, and service after initially meeting with Heather to tour the venue. The rest of the staff and service continued to be excellent throughout the whole process. The venue itself was incredible. Amazing rooftop, and very cool ballroom reception area downstairs. We had some unique ideas we wanted to try how we set up and planned our reception, and they worked with us to make every idea happen just as we had pictured it. It could not have run more smoothly the day-of, and we didn't need to worry about a thing. We had some unexpected hitches pop up at the start of the reception, and they handled that beautifully keeping everything moving like pros. They worked with all of our vendors to make everything run smooth the day-of, and didn't bat an eye at any request or idea we threw out.

Chris Stone: Awesome venue for events with a beautiful rooftop overlooking the cityscape of Kansas city. From a rooftop space to a beautiful event space on the third floor. They also have another floor for the hosting party to use for changing and private purposes. Elevator for use to each floor and friendly staff catering to all your needs. I enjoyed the wedding I attended here and loved the decor. The rooftop space isn't incredibly large but hosts quite a bit of people. The event space on the 3rd floor is larger and has clean bathrooms. Worth taking a look of you are wanting to have a wedding or event.

Laura Blundell: If you are looking for a wedding venue, look no further. This venue brought my dreams of a whimsical boho wedding to life. They have a lot of items on site, so you can worry about things other than decorations (which was important coming from out of state). There are also so many different areas on site, providing awesome picture opportunities. The getting ready areas are just adorable and they even had fun games for people to play. The food was DELICIOUS and the staff was SO kind. Jennifer was a treat to work with... Fresh Air got lucky when they found her! She always responded promptly and is overall SUCH a kind person. She was quick to give recommendations and allowed us to truly sit back and enjoy the day, while she handled all the little (and big) details. There truly aren't enough words to explain how amazing this venue and it's staff are. Thank you all!!

Couple of areas could of used a bit of straw. The had Great food that they make themselves. Not sure what options were avalable but my cousin went with the burnt ends and fried chicken. I had the bbq and it was great.
