Julie Braden: Loose Mansion is THE venue for a couple who wants an out-of-the-box solution for their wedding! They have an all-inclusive package, so food, decor, ceremony, reception, bar, music, and planning… EVERYTHING is handled through the mansion and their incredible professional staff. We had about a three month engagement and wanted a small intimate wedding where ourselves and friends and family didn’t have to lift a finger, but everything would be gorgeous and look like a luxury wedding. Loose made this completely possible on a short timeline and because of their incredible team, it took away so much of the usual stress of wedding planning. I have been a part of planning many weddings and truly believe that Loose has the best all inclusive venue for reasonable pricing and saves you and your loved ones all of the effort that goes into the work of many other venues - which at the end of the day is priceless. I highly recommend taking a look at the beauty this venue has to offer as well as their phenomenal food menus, bar selection, and take a chance to meet their wonderful staff! Karen and Abbey were so great to work with and made our wedding day such a peaceful, sweet day. We can’t thank Loose Mansion enough!!
Mikayla Smith: Loose Mansion is a great venue, catering, decorating, and day-of coordinating business all rolled in to one! We did heavy appetizers for our wedding, and Loose Mansion was very accommodating to that idea. Every guest has mentioned how great the food was too! Chris was our day-of coordinator and she really helped so much not only by scheduling a planning meeting for us to go over major details 6 months out, but also being extremely helpful on the wedding day. She did an incredible job making sure I didn’t have to worry about anything, and we both greatly appreciate her help! Another huge plus for me was the fact that they let you use all the decorations they already have, which really helped us save money on the little things. Also, for brides who either don’t care about flowers or are concerned with how much they cost, the beautiful internal decor and loads of candles meant we didn’t need any floral decorations at all! Of course if you do want flowers, they will only further enhance the beauty of the space! My husband also loved the groom suite, which in some other venues is a broom closet, but at Loose Mansion they had a large space to get ready in and hangout as well! Overall we loved our experience with Loose Mansion and all the staff, and we highly recommend this venue to all couples!

We loved the classic feel of the decor in their dining room and the speakeasy vibrations of the open bar presented on the bottom level. The staff was. Great and we’re excellent at making sure everything we needed was readily available. But Chris, the main director, was the ultimate standout. She was amazingly attentive to what the bride and groom needed. She worked hand in hand with the MC by preparing him for using their sound system and walking him through the schedule. She worked everything from lights to plating. She dealt with difficult guests with grace and over delivered on special requests. I didn’t know her last name but if I were to guess, it would be “hospitality” because service to guest clearly flows thick through her veins. Thank you for such a great experience!

It's got a great history, a grand look, and smells of mahogany and leather bound books! It's unique in that it is a real KC mansion with too many great attributes to mention. We searched and found Loose Mansion and absolutely fell in love. Having our wedding at Loose Mansion was the best decision we ever made. It’s so beautiful and elegant! The venue matched my dress perfectly. You don’t need much to spruce up your event either. It’s perfect. The whole process was made easy because of the staff. Abbey, Abby, and Karen were very attentive and were always there to answer any questions we had.The day of our wedding was perfect. It was so calm. I was very overwhelmed by the planning process and had very little free time for planning due to my job, so Loose Mansion's all-inclusive approach was very important to us and my anxiety was relieved as soon as we booked. Chris F was our point of contact, she expertly walked me through every step of the planning, she was always incredibly organized, and she truly made the whole experience so easy and wonderful. The architecture and decor at the mansion is beautiful, the team did an amazing job of decorating for our wedding, and the food was delicious. The rehearsal and wedding day went SO smoothly - I honestly was relaxed the entire time and felt totally taken care of. At first glance, the venue seems pricey, but when you factor in everything included in the process, it is really very reasonable and WELL worth it. Our guests have been raving about the event and mansion since our wedding. I am so grateful that we chose Loose Mansion!!

They made sure that we were able to eat dinner and checked in to see if we wanted any more drinks or dessert throughout the evening. Everything was seamless and many of our guests commented that they really enjoyed the food. We had the best day and would choose Loose Mansion again in a heartbeat. You can tell that the owner, Barbara, and the whole Loose Mansion team really know what they are doing and care about their clients.
Ashley Vance: We attended my brother in laws wedding here. The bride was sure to inform them that my daughter has a cinnamon allergy. The staff paid enough attention to the guest to know which one was here. We were getting our food and one of the fabulous staff members came up to my daughter and I; verified her and told her what had cinnamon in it. Then followed up with saying we will bring out your other daughters food. She has sensory overload and made sure to accommodate for all. I was so impressed with ALL of the staff members. Everyone was awesome.

Cynthia Thompson: Loose Mansion is a beautiful Venue. I made multiple changes with my contract and they were more than happy to do all the updates. I made sure the wedding was how I wanted it. During our rehearsal they were so good with children and helping our ring bearer and flower girl out. They reached out to all our vendors and had everything placed where I wanted them to be. There's a padlock to the brides and grooms suite so we knew everything was secured. The dinner service was amazing. The food is delicious and the appetizers is amazing. Also, after the event ended they helped move all the things we needed downstairs so we can put it in the car. Would recommend this venue

Brent Lager: My new wife and I simply can not say enough amazing things about Mackenzie, Taylor and the entire staff at 28 Event Space. We had a big wedding (near 250) and they made it so easy and stress free for us. They were flexible, honest and just gave off the best energy throughout the entire process. From the day we toured to the moment we left the day after the wedding, they were great to us. And the space is absolutely perfect for every phase of the wedding experience. We'd absolutely love it, and would recommend them for whatever your needs are. Great people, great place, great experience!

Lyndsee Johnson: I toured 6 venues and could not find a better event space in the KC metro than 28 Event Space. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and extremely easy to work with. I think I asked them hundreds of questions leading up to our big day, to which they were immediately responsive, attentive, and extremely helpful. The bartenders included in our package were awesome and went above and beyond as they were willing to make all of our old fashioned's for our signature drink for our pup ("Otis Fashioned")! The Station was everything we had wished and hoped for - I would recommend to any couple looking for a place for their dream wedding! :)

Kim Philip: This was the absolute BEST RECEPTION SITE we could have ever imagined! It worked for every member of our family! The staff was awesome, especially the three bartenders we had, and the back rooms and bedrooms were perfect for elderly family members to relax in during the reception and for the wedding party to prep in before and after the ceremony. Leah Berg: I think 28 Event Space is the best value venue in downtown KC. I did extensive research on venues in downtown KC for my wedding, and no one could compete with 28 Event Space’s price for everything that is included. A few of the main selling points for me were that our rental included a DJ, party bus, bride/groom getting ready suite, overnight access, use of your own vendors, and the ability to bring your own alcohol. They are the only venue in downtown KC (to my knowledge) to offer all of this, and at an incredibly fair price.In addition to all of this, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. We went with The Station which has an elegant marble backdrop as the centerpiece of the room. Everything is so updated and modern, which is exactly what we were looking for in a venue. The managers Mackenzie and Taylor are also incredibly responsive which is a must for wedding planning. They gave me a number to text with any questions and they almost always responded within ours. We mainly worked with Taylor, and she was so flexible with all of our requests. I can’t recommend 28 Event Space enough.

Evie Hauptmann: We just had our wedding at the Abbott this past weekend and I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this venue and the staff!! Mia, the venue coordinator, is top notch and was our favorite vendor we worked with throughout our engagement season. She is absolutely incredible, has the best ideas, and really cares about her couples. Our wedding day truly would have not been the same without her! The space: the Abbott has the most beautiful chandeliers throughout the space and can fit so many guests in there! It has such a cool bar area, cocktail hour space, balcony, and plenty of dancing room! Definitely put your dance floor under the chandelier. I was worried that the acoustics would be bad since it's such large area, but we used Icon Events for our DJ (who the Abbott partners with) and it couldn't have been more perfect! You could hear all the speeches and music from all corners of the venue without any echo!! This space hardly needs any crazy enhancements to make it beautiful because it is so gorgeous. ALSO - the gold chairs made the most amazing statement! We loved our experience at the Abbott!

The bar service was slow though... 😒 The food was very good! 👍Acoustics of the space are great!🥁 They had a live band and the music and beat rocked!

West Rose: We worked at the Abbott recently for a wedding and styled shoot. It's a stunning and spacious venue with a lot of areas to decorate. It's a blank canvas full of possibility! Their team was professional and friendly.
Abby Mitchell: As a wedding planner it is crucial to work with a venue that is well kept and on top of their responsibilities. The Abbott (and it's sister properties) are always fantastic! From touring with Sam, to setting up with Brian you will be well taken care of.
C: The Abbott is basically a warehouse has a great (but smallish) outdoor balcony warehouse style and finished cement flooring. There is adequate air circulation (still hot though-not too good on air conditioning), small bar area ( could use an additional bar space for such a large area). Best part are on the ceiling, antique chandeliers probably salvaged from an upscale hotel.Band Of Angels fundraiser event was so fun! The event sold out with a 1,000 people in attendance, raising $100,000!Hallmark artists took irreparable, damaged musical instruments making fabulous art pieces. The night proceeded with a silent auction., Money went to give children instruments and grants to go to summer music camps!Only downside was the food trucks ran out of food way earlier.

Holly Du: Let me start off by saying that this venue is absolutely gorgeous, and was the perfect size for our small wedding; however, the management was extremely frustrating to deal with. Ava reached out on February 28th to check-in to see if we needed to rent any table décor. We weren’t sure what we needed since we didn’t know how many tables we would have. When I asked if we could get a floor plan on March 1st (with a follow-up email) we were ghosted for a month. We did get our floor plan on April 4th. During this email thread with Ava, we opted to have six round tables since that would have been more than enough for our less than 50 guests.During this same thread, on March 31st, I asked if we could set up a date for our rehearsal dinner, to which we also didn’t get a response. After not hearing anything via email for several weeks, my husband called on April 27th. We were less than a month out from our wedding and didn’t have any confirmation on the details Ava and I had emailed about, nor did we have a date set for our rehearsal dinner or final walkthrough of the venue.When he called, it went to voicemail, and their voicemailbox was completely full. Thankfully Deb reached out via text to communicate. He got a response that day, April 27th from them regarding the final walk-through date for May 3rd (a date they insisted on). When he responded to confirm this date, he didn’t hear anything back for several days. He had to text them again two days later to remind them, and they changed the time we originally agreed upon, which was frustrating as we had other obligations that we planned around the original meeting time.They suggested May 2nd, and my husband responded stating that day would not work because he had to present his capstone project and I was in meetings all day. The venue did not respond back with additional dates that would work for them, so my husband had to text them the next day to obtain additional options. They suggested a variety of different dates; however most did not work for us because I was out of town due to a death in my family. We felt like this miscommunication could have been mitigated if there had been adequate closed-loop correspondence prior to the month of our wedding.Other concerns to note include the lack of a staff member for our rehearsal dinner to help walk us through; however, it was convenient at this location that the outdoor space was accessible without a key or staff member present. On May 12th Deb messaged my husband saying that they would be building an arbor with greenery to hang in the outdoor ceremony space on May 19th and asked if we wanted them to keep it up for our ceremony the next day. This was a really kind gesture, and my husband asked what it would look like because we were unsure if it would go with the rest of our décor. At the end of the day, we agreed for them to leave it up, but on May 19th, my husband received a text saying they were cutting down the greenery. Honestly, we would have just preferred to not have had it as an option if they were just going to cut it down.The day of our wedding, our planner arrived at the venue to a table arrangement that was not what we agreed upon. Our planner asked Vicky (the day-of contact for the venue) to remove the extra tables since we only brought enough décor for the floor plan we wanted. Our planner had to physically remove the tables and break them down herself because Vicky only moved them to a corner. Additionally, we were told that we would have cocktail tables, none of which were present on this day. Another aspect not present were the stemless wine glasses that we requested to rent from the venue via email and in-person. Another thing that frustrated us was Vicky closing the garage doors, which Deb said we could open. Vicky stated that neighbors were going to complain about the music; however, the music was quiet at that point in the night and the city noise ordinance wasn’t in effect as it was 6 PM.TLDR: Venue - gorgeous. Management - poor. Book at your own discretion.

Shannon Findlay: The prior google reviews here are reviews for Brookside Gardens (previous owners).I'll have to be honest, and I'm not usually one to complain. We weren’t impressed by the overall experience with Whitebird Events (owner of Magnolia at Brookside). There were some good things. Jordan, the manager for the evening, is a sweet heart, and the venue is a beautiful property with a lovely layout and location. We did have an amazing night and received many compliments on the look and feel of the venue.BUT: The venue, in general, was extremely dirty. The kitchen was absolutely disgusting. Food and flowers left in the fridge, counters not wiped. The sticky floor my husband mopped, dead flowers and signs left in the bathrooms. The bridal suite looked as though someone was drilling out sheet rock. Significant sheet rock- like dust everywhere. Sewer smell in bridal suite that did dissipate after a few hours. Our hair/ makeup girls mentioned the dust and the smell. The bar was gross and sticky…Jordan, understandably, was just doing what she was told, so no complaints on her, but she started clearing table decorations at 10:15 and taking people’s drinks from the table while they’re still drinking them. That was, absolutely, not okay. Nothing like sending the message, “get out of here” like clearing tables and taking drinks an hour and 45 mins before we had to, officially, be gone at midnight.My photographer showed up at the wrong Magnolia because both Whitebird Events venues have the same name. (Not their fault she showed up at the wrong place, but two venues with the same name, I can see, is confusing)Disappointing, especially considering the amount of money we spent on this venue. TWICE, actually, because they charged us to reschedule during Covid. The major issue being cleaning up with AMPLE enough time for that to have been done AFTER the party was over….I sent these complaints to Deborah (owner). She did offer to provide some type of compensation to reconcile, but when I showed interest, she has not responded.
Kevin Butler: Attended wedding of Lauren and David. Perfect size place for small or big party. Ceremony out back. Reception steps away. Comfortable setting, great hors d oeuvres buffet, nice bar, friendly staff.

Robin Evans: Attended wedding at Brookside Gardens last weekend. It is a cute venue, this is our second reception we have attended there. I do think the area where the food is served gets crowded and spills out into the hallway, however it is nice. My issue with this place was that the deck had a slime/mold on it. We went outside and it had rained earlier. I fell and hurt myself, ankle is still swollen 2 days later. What I am unhappy about is that as a courtesy I contacted Joe to let him know that he should attend to this so that another person doesn't get hurt. I am 60 so it was hard enough for me, I would hate for another person to get seriously injured. He didn't even say he was sorry or ask if I was OK. He was actually rude and said he didn't even know that people were out on the deck with the weather.
Mandy Noble: I went here for a wedding. The venue is gorgeous and plenty of space, including for the reception. There is enough room for numerous tables and still enough space for a good sized dance floor. If I remember correctly, they offer table and chair rentals, and if you chose to serve alcohol, they provide the bartenders--both men working the night I attended were fantastic.

The wedding ceremony was done out back, where there is a stage and seating for at least 100.The inside was large enough to hold 15 to 20 round banquet tables for seating/eating for groups of I think 8 per table? There's a bar area in the back. Bathrooms are good. Stage indoors as well. The dance floor was good sized.Also a new bar for local brews opened up just across the street on the corner. Plenty of pre-gaming was done there and we appreciated the proximity. Lol.

Flower Girl: It was a smaller event place. The parking was not convenient. It was located across a busy street. Plus, any place that requires an armed security guard at the door makes you wonder about safety. But if it was necessary, I appreciate him being there.

Jami Schear: We had an absolutely perfect ceremony at the Vow Exchange! They made everything so easy and carefree for us. We were coordinating an elopement ceremony from almost 200 miles away and convenience was really important to us. We were blown away with the service, care, attention to detail and true kindness from everyone! Communication ahead of the day was awesome - super clear and detailed. Our coordinator, Kristin, made us feel so welcome and special - like we were having coffee at the home of a dear friend. She made all our stress that day melt away. She took care of every single tiny detail - all the way down to ensuring our serving ware was clean and packed up before we left. We also adored the officiant and photographer. (Our photographer was such a pro! We looovvved her!!) Even our flowers were absolutely breathtaking! Everyone we met and worked with was absolutely perfect. We cannot recommend them all enough. Thank you, Vow Exchange, for making our once in a lifetime day even better than we could have ever dreamed!
Angela Harris: I booked this venue in May for my September wedding. I went to view the venue in June and I met with Kristin, I had a witness with me. I specifically asked her about my wedding cake and finger food. My question was can I bring in a small cake and finger sandwiches. Her response was "I like to tell people that you are renting the space and you can do whatever you want during the time of your rental, as long as it fits on the black table". I asked if I could bring my cake, she told me to bring it. I had spoken to Kristin a couple of times since my venue visit and she never told me anything different. I received an email from the venue reminding me that my final payment was due a couple of days prior to the due date and I made the payment thinking that everything was still okay. One week prior to my wedding date, I get a call from Kristin saying that she just wanted to make sure that I absolutely understood that no outside food could be brought in. I reminded her of our conversation during my visit and she said " I would never tell anyone that". I double checked with my witness and it was confirmed that I was told "bring your cake in". I told her that, if she would have told me that I would have booked a different venue. By now I had paid the full price of the rental and was told that I could not get any of the money back because it was less that 2 weeks before my event. I don't understand why she didn't make that call prior to the due date for my final payment instead of waiting until it was too late for a refund. I do not recommend this venue to anyone anymore. I actually advise people to steer clear.

We got married at The Chapel on the Corner in Liberty, and Angela was so kind and laid back, I couldn’t thank her enough for her help! The decorations were so simple yet beautiful. The staff at The Vow Exchange was phenomenal from the very first day I contacted them about checking out the venue. The day of coordinators made everything run smoothly and it was such a stress free day. We picked the Bites and Beverages package and were not disappointed! We had so much food for our ~60 guests and plenty of beverages as well! The venue is the perfect backdrop for photos before, during, and after! I can't thank the staff enough for helping to make 2/15/20 the best day of my life!

Sami H.: This is by far one of the best wedding venues in Kansas City. It is family owned and run with the clients’ best interests in mind. It is a one stop shop in terms of ability to hold the ceremony, photography, as well as the reception. The building is considered historic to Kansas City, and the owners have taken great care to maintain the vintage architecture and atmosphere. They collaborated with all of us to ensure that it truly was the best day ever.

For us having COVID post pone our wedding was a nightmare. Insert Jodie and Eric to the rescue!! They made our special day well worth the wait. Jodie and Eric started out as our event space coordinators and quickly became like family. The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel will forever hold a special place in our hearts because of Jodie and Eric. Their loving personalities, warm hearts, hilarious sense of humor, infectious spirits and organizational skills set the bar out of reach. We were in awe of the amazing atmosphere they created for our day. The chapel was breathtaking, the reception hall was like a movie. Jodie and Eric made our day run like clockwork. Directing, coordinating, and facilitating our bridal party, our family and friends gave way to the best night of our lives. We are so blessed to have met them, but thankful to have gotten to know them, and grateful to never ever forget them. We can not say thank you to them enough because that just wouldn't be enough for everything they did for us. We met them a year in advance and by the time it was our wedding date it felt like they were family. Both of them go above and beyond to be sure your wedding is everything you could envision it to be. They are both so professional and help guide you to having a perfect wedding. Any questions or concerns you have they are always there to help. They are easy to talk to you and don’t make you feel silly for asking questions. They understand this may not be anything you have done before and re-assure you that this is their job to help and guide you to you perfect day. I was expecting my wedding to be stressful, time consuming, and downright hard to plan but when we booked at The Deleon everything leading up to our wedding date fell into place like clockwork and was so simple. The time Eric and Jodie dedicated to us was heart felt. It was honestly hard to believe they were working with other brides and grooms along with us. The day of our wedding went flawlessly. Everything we worked so hard for the last year came into place perfectly. All of our fears were gone and we are able to enjoy our big day. All of our guests commented on how much fun and well organized the wedding was. This is a testament to Eric and Jodie and we could not stop thanking them for their professionalism and help throughout our wedding day. If anyone were to ask us where to have their wedding, we would say the DeLeon because of Eric and Jodie. They made our wedding fun, smooth and a day we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Stephanie Rennie: When I was looking for a wedding venue, I had a lot of wants and needs. Most places were too expensive for just the space with no tables and chairs or linens etc. then I fell upon the DeLeon. It looked amazing inside and Jodie and Eric were so kind and welcoming. I had a million questions that they took their time to answer and were very up front about all costs so there were no surprises. I also didn’t want to spend a year planning, I wanted it to all be done in the beginning so I could just wait for the day and enjoy it. They gave me a full list of vendors that they knew would go off without a hitch. And they were right. Every single person I used was excellent. Not only that but they decorated the whole place to my specifications. I got to choose what I wanted and it was all set on the day. They were also my coordinators, checkin hosts and security. My whole experience before the wedding made me feel like I was the only bride. It was so personal and enjoyable to work with these two. Then on the wedding they ran everything like clockwork and helped make sure I was taken care of. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience so next time you’re looking for an easy worry free wedding that’s exactly what you want, call Jodie and Eric. Did I mention I was a pain in Jodie’s butt constantly messaging her with updates and questions and not only was she responsive, she was so positive about it all. Yeah they are awesome and the venue is lovely!
Kelly Kaminski: I don't even know where to begin! Jodie and Eric are the best! I live out of state and when looking for venues I saw The DeLeon and fell in love with it. I booked an appointment to see the venue and after meeting Jodie and Eric and seeing the venue in person, I knew I had to book. From the very beginning they have been there for me. They know what they are doing and you can tell they love doing it. Living out of state makes planning a wedding a bit difficult, however they gave me a list of excellent vendors and that made everything so much easier. Any question I had was answered right away and everything seemed to be going well. Then the pandemic hit. We were at our two week out meeting with Jodie and I was having a complete melt down. I will never be able to thank Jodie enough for how she treated me that day. She is the absolute best! A couple days later we have to postpone the wedding. It's not what we wanted to do but we didn't really have a choice. Jodie was very accommodating during this unprecedented time. We rescheduled the wedding and was able to reschedule all the vendors as well for the new date. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and all I can say is that had I not had Jodie there, the wedding would have been a disaster. I was so overwhelmed with everything going on and Jodie was there the whole time to make sure we stayed on schedule and everything went perfect for our special day. I highly recommend The DeLeon Event Space, the venue is absolutely beautiful and the owners are great. If you do book with them, please listen to them about which vendors to use. They know what they are talking about.

mildred webster: Did not even want to give one star. Lost every single penny we worked so hard for. We have 5 beautiful children and planned this perfect wedding FOR YEARS. "National Pandemic" happens and everything is turned upside down. This of course is out of The owners and I control, but instead of offering us a refund of any amount, we are told to choose between July and August or lose everything. This day meant more to us than we should even have to explain. We wanted this to be perfect, Instead, the year doesn't work for us outside of the day we paid for and the owner begins to tell us about a "contract" that we signed that had no listing of anything out of our control except deployment. ooops she did include death on a facebook post. We worked numerous jobs in and out to make this one day extra special and the venue takes everything we worked so hard for and we do not get to experience this one special day. She stated the governor only "SUGGESTED" a limited amount of people. Well i have two children with Aarskog syndrome who are high risk and could not even leave the house. (so have a wedding w/o two of my children nor my family and friends just so we dont lose out on our money) not knowing when this will even end. Please dont waste money or time, she would rather argue (her way or the highway) per her contract than show any empathy or compassion. Of course she would like to talk about not cancelling our wedding due to split payments because now look, she has every penny requested and we are out every single dime and no wedding.everything was perfect until we requested a refund due to none of our family, friends AND TWO CHILDREN not being able to attend having to reschedule with work, flights etcccc. due to this horrific "National Pandemic" steer clear because if anything in the world happens THEY DO NOT CARE, unless deployed or a spouse passes away.
Gabrielle: Married at this venue on 2/29/2020, and WOW! The owners made me feel like family, the amount of decor that comes with the package, the service, and how they cared for me as the bride was phenomenal. I highly recommend this family and their location.
Angela Williamson: We got married December 14th. Eric and Jodie made it the smoothest and special experience we could ever ask for. They helped us plan everything and took it all off our hands. With my husband working way to many hours at work and me going to school full time we couldn't have done it without Eric and Jodie. They spent the extra time to make everything just how we wanted it. We decided to spend the extra money on the venue and it was definitely worth it. They also made sure everything went PERFECTLY the day of. If you are looking for a venue I promise you The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel will be the best and most cost effective choice you can make.
Nora Guerrero: The best experience ever! We got married on 10/12/19 and it was the most beautiful amazing day. What a beautiful memory! From the beginning Jodie & Eric were AMAZING! I called many venues and had a hard time getting anyone to call me back. Jodie was the only person to answer my call on the 1st time, she was actually preparing for one of the wedding expo's, I could hear the commotion in the background. She promised she would reach back out to me the following day and she did! Instantly I new that she does what she does because she loves it, I could hear it in her tone. The moment we toured The DeLeon, we knew it was where we wanted to have our family & friends gather for our big day. The venue is so elegant, romantic and gorgeous! Jodie & Eric were so helpful during the planning process. I reached out for recommendations, ideas, referrals and they always answered quickly. They made me feel like our wedding was important to them, and it was. The day of our wedding Jodie & Eric just took over. Communication was key to them knowing what you want for your day and when I say they deliver, they absolutely DELIVERED! Our wedding day felt very organized and our guest raved about how gorgeous the venue was and how helpful, kind, pleasant, sweet and mindful Jodie and Eric were. My favorite take away from Jodie and Eric is right before I walked down the isle, Eric fixed the train of my dress and Jodie looked at me as if I was family, I almost got a tear out of her right before she said "are you ready?" Jodie & Eric, Thank you for taking care of us and our guest on such a memorable day for us! You and your team went above & beyond our expectations. One more thing, Eric, Thank your for letting our son hang out with you all evening. He had a blast!
Roger McDowell: We used the DeLeon for our oldest daughter's wedding in July 2018, and then our second daughter also selected the DeLeon for her wedding in Dec. 2019. If you want a classy wedding/reception venue with all the amenities, then it's hard to beat the DeLeon. However, it's really the people behind the venue that make all the difference. Eric and Jodie are amazing! Their support/guidance throughout the planning process as well as their best in class management of the actual event helped ensure a stress free experience for my family so we could embrace the day. Their knowledge, experience, and passion for excellence are second to none. Eric and Jodie are like family to us and if we had another daughter we would select The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel again.Thank You Eric and Jodie!

Courtney Rose: The Guild was the PERFECT venue for our urban/ downtown KC wedding dreams. Not only is it stunning but it has everything you need to have your entire wedding in one place. Their outdoor garden was beautiful for our ceremony, the lobby was spacious but cozy for our cocktail hour, and the main room was grand and elegant for our reception. The staff was so sweet and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. On the day of, they made sure our day was as perfect as we imagined. We cannot recommend this venue enough!

They outdoor ceremony space is just so cool, but what I like is that even if (god forbid) you have a rainout The Guild's inside ceremony space is so dope. That chandelier though! On top of that you've got such a great staff that really cares about making your wedding day perfect.
Kari Swift: Our daughter got married at The Guild on NYE! The staff was wonderful to work with, Chelsea was our main contact throughout the whole process. She was very helpful and very responsive. Reese was venue manager on sight the day of and she was FANTASTIC.The venue is stunning, with the gorgeous chandelier, subway tile wall and the red brick wall all work together in such an elegant way. There are both bridal and groom suites, a garden space, and reserved parking lots.The Guild is one the most beautiful venues' in KC with a wonderful staff.

Candace Harris: We can not say enough great things about the venue and its fantastic owner Steve. Every step of the way Steve was punctual helpful, easy going, and made fantastic recommendations for local vendors. On the day of the wedding Steve was with us for pretty much everything, happily helping to help resolve any issues with decor, vendors or managing our family. The tables, chairs, and sound system were all top notch. We do recommend making a plan for parking depending on the time of your event.

Ashley Hunter: Steve (the owner) was so great to work with. He was quick to respond to my initial emails asking for details about the venue and all my questions throughout the planning process. He provided so many good tips and made us feel very relaxed about the wedding process. We visited the venue several times before the day of our wedding and Steve was great at answering our questions and helping to plan everything out. On the day of the wedding, he sent me a text letting me know everything was set up and ready to go and it was a relief. Our wedding was great and we got so many compliments on Cellar 222. It is so naturally beautiful so there wasn't much extra decorating for us to do. Overall, a beautiful and great venue. Such a great experience and I will continue to recommend to those looking for wedding venues.
Hanna Gore: We had a smaller wedding (50ish people) and this venue was everything we needed and more! Steve was great to work with and was super calm during the entire process. I toured the venue a few different times with friends and family and he was always so patient with me. The venue looked incredible for our actual wedding and they did a great job of flipping the space between the ceremony and reception. If you are looking for a laid back space that has incredible preferred vendors (catering, bar, and linens) look no further than Cellar 222.
Chad Bruton: We used Cellar 222 for our wedding reception in March of 2023. We hosted a cocktail style reception with a full bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and a 6 piece band for slightly over 150 guests. We had a lot of people in the space, yet it never seemed too crowded. The two floors allowed our guests to spread out and created some separation for those that wanted to dance the night away with the band upstairs (shout out to KC All-Stars) and those who wanted to spend the time talking in the more subdued downstairs. It was an amazing evening and we could not be happier with Cellar 222. Steve did a great job of supporting us and giving us advice along the way. The venue is beautiful and needs no decoration, although we added a few just make it extra special...including lots of candles! From the moment we walked through the space for our initial tour we knew it was the right spot for our event.Aside from the venue being turnkey ready some of the definite benefits of this venue is the flexibility you have to use outside vendors. We opted to use several of the preferred vendors that Steve provided us and they too were awesome to work with (shout out to Top Shelf Bartending, Dutzel Catering, and Sugar Beats Bake Shop). Additionally, as a gay couple we are always attuned to how welcoming the vendors we worked with seemed in the process. Not all businesses are as open minded as we would hope and it was import to us to work with people who are supportive of our tribe. From the start Steve was awesome to work with and it was definitely apparent he was a supportive ally. We honestly have not one concern, complaint, or issue and highly recommend Cellar 222! Cellar 222 is beautiful, affordance, flexible, and in a great location with lots of parking for guests. You will not be disappointed!
Katherine Forrister: Cellar 222 is an absolutely beautiful space. For our small wedding of only 15 guests, we wanted a venue that didn't feel cavernous, but was large and elegant enough to fit the special occasion. While this venue can hold a lot more people, its layout and Tuscan wine cellar decor made it feel cozy and intimate for our ceremony and reception. In fact, the furniture and decor along the walls are so beautiful that we didn't need to bring many decorations of our own, which was perfect since we were trying to keep our day as easy and low-stress as possible. The owner, Steve, is AMAZING. He is so kind and easygoing, and we knew the moment we met him and saw the venue that Cellar 222 was the way to go. He recommended great vendors that frequently work with the venue so the planning process was a breeze, but we also appreciated the flexibility of choosing our own bakery for the cake. Overall, I am SO glad that we chose Cellar 222 for our wedding. I felt so pretty coming down the staircase in my dress to walk down the aisle, and everyone loved the reception that followed and kept talking about how beautiful and unique the venue is.
