Jami Schear: We had an absolutely perfect ceremony at the Vow Exchange! They made everything so easy and carefree for us. We were coordinating an elopement ceremony from almost 200 miles away and convenience was really important to us. We were blown away with the service, care, attention to detail and true kindness from everyone! Communication ahead of the day was awesome - super clear and detailed. Our coordinator, Kristin, made us feel so welcome and special - like we were having coffee at the home of a dear friend. She made all our stress that day melt away. She took care of every single tiny detail - all the way down to ensuring our serving ware was clean and packed up before we left. We also adored the officiant and photographer. (Our photographer was such a pro! We looovvved her!!) Even our flowers were absolutely breathtaking! Everyone we met and worked with was absolutely perfect. We cannot recommend them all enough. Thank you, Vow Exchange, for making our once in a lifetime day even better than we could have ever dreamed!
Angela Harris: I booked this venue in May for my September wedding. I went to view the venue in June and I met with Kristin, I had a witness with me. I specifically asked her about my wedding cake and finger food. My question was can I bring in a small cake and finger sandwiches. Her response was "I like to tell people that you are renting the space and you can do whatever you want during the time of your rental, as long as it fits on the black table". I asked if I could bring my cake, she told me to bring it. I had spoken to Kristin a couple of times since my venue visit and she never told me anything different. I received an email from the venue reminding me that my final payment was due a couple of days prior to the due date and I made the payment thinking that everything was still okay. One week prior to my wedding date, I get a call from Kristin saying that she just wanted to make sure that I absolutely understood that no outside food could be brought in. I reminded her of our conversation during my visit and she said " I would never tell anyone that". I double checked with my witness and it was confirmed that I was told "bring your cake in". I told her that, if she would have told me that I would have booked a different venue. By now I had paid the full price of the rental and was told that I could not get any of the money back because it was less that 2 weeks before my event. I don't understand why she didn't make that call prior to the due date for my final payment instead of waiting until it was too late for a refund. I do not recommend this venue to anyone anymore. I actually advise people to steer clear.

We got married at The Chapel on the Corner in Liberty, and Angela was so kind and laid back, I couldn’t thank her enough for her help! The decorations were so simple yet beautiful. It made for wonderful photos. Would absolutely recommend for a simple, small ceremony for a great price.

Kristina Taylor: They provided my daughter with a very nice small intimate venue. Only downs sides were hard to find & for heavens sake DONT sit in the front row! I kind of feel like we missed out because all we could see was our daughters back. If you have anyone who has trouble walking or elderly, drop them off as the parking is a bit of a walk. Otherwise hats off to you good job!
Amy Byrd: I couldn't have asked for a better venue to share my special day marrying the man of my dreams! The staff at The Vow Exchange was phenomenal from the very first day I contacted them about checking out the venue. The day of coordinators made everything run smoothly and it was such a stress free day. We picked the Bites and Beverages package and were not disappointed! We had so much food for our ~60 guests and plenty of beverages as well! The venue is the perfect backdrop for photos before, during, and after! I can't thank the staff enough for helping to make 2/15/20 the best day of my life!

jacob bowker: We did a legal signing with Nancy 2 days ago which was executed exactly how we wanted. She clearly stated the process and gave us helpful information for the courthouse. Nancy was friendly, super professional and I couldn't think of anyone better to officiate our signing.
Rachel: What can I say about sweet Pastor Jane... What supposed to be a quick 15 minute meeting to get to know the couple, turned into an hour of chatting and laughter and sharing our stories with such a kind and caring person. Pastor Jane took the time to learn each of our stories about how we came to be engaged, what we loved most about each other, and what we hoped for our futures together. She also shared with us her story which moved us deeply and helped us to know we had chosen the right officiant for our special day. On the day of the ceremony, her speech brought up emotion from everyone in the crowd, and especially us at the altar. If you're needing an officiant, you can't go wrong with the ladies at KC Weddings 2 Go!

I was only here to photograph a last minute walk in wedding on St Pats day. They have a ceremony room for your wedding, and a few other additional rooms. A get ready/makeup room, sunflower room and a room when you first walk in, all nice places to take some quick photos in.I don’t know the prices or how anything else’s works as I was just here to do photos.

Vaughan Harrison: I love this space so much. My nonprofit, The Kansas City Chamber Choir, hosted a winter concert here in 2019 and everyone loved how beautiful this quaint chapel was. The acoustics are lovely and the finishings are just breathtaking. We had an absolute blast singing ecclesiastical pieces in this space. Would definitely rent again for the same and other purposes.I even have considered getting married here. The charm is unparalleled and the staff are so wonderful and easy to work with.

This is the only establishment I've met in a year trying to plan a wedding where the focus was solely on the marriage and not trying to gouge you for insane amounts of money. Lauren Berry: Timmy’s team was awesome! We had Phil officiate our wedding and he made the process totally stress free. He was so open and willing to do whatever we asked, but also happy to provide recommendations if we wanted. I had multiple people comment on him after our wedding and they say he was the best officiant ever!
Brandon Wofford: Timmy Gibson and his team are AMAZING!!!! As a fellow vendor it is always a relief when we work together because they know exactly what they are doing. They never leave the crowd standing after the couple get to the end of the isle. They never stand in the picture when it is time to kiss for the first time as a couple. They speak loudly and clearly so everybody in the room can hear. They are top notch!!!!
Quinlan Fletcher: Timmy officiated our wedding this October, and he was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire wedding process. His ceremonies are beautifully written and incredibly moving. Timmy was always very kind and responded to questions quickly. My husband and I also wanted to incorporate a handfasting ceremony, and Timmy did an beautiful job adding it to the ceremony. I would highly recommend working with Timmy to any couples looking to tie the knot!

We did 3 premarital counseling sessions with Timmy which was amazing and so helpful to set up our marriage for success. We had Phillip Osner as our officiant and he was AWESOME. He worked with us on our ceremony script until it was perfect and made sure everything went seamlessly. I cannot recommend Timmy Gibson and his team enough.

We plan to keep seeing Timmy for marriage counseling to continue on the good path he started us out on.He has multiple script options for you to chose from and allows you to customize it how you'd like, which was nice to make it feel more personalized. He even mailed our marriage license so we didn't have to worry about it on our honeymoon.Absolutely would recommend to any brides/grooms.

We spoke to at least 20, trying to compare services and cost to better understand what we were signing up for, but when we came across Timmy’s website, I became more intrigued by the pre-marital sessions alongside the officiant services. Upon meeting, we found him professional and he actually answered questions in detail, the real kicker for us was that we live an hour south of the metro area and he was more than willing to have informative phone calls and video consults for the counseling aspect, so we could work it into our busy schedules. The best part for us was that we not only felt secure in the information we were learning and gained some confidence within our relationship but also were able to self reflect and grow individually with the information. Some of it was “common sense” to an extent, but we feel we needed the reminders, to keep each other reliable and responsible for the sake of our relationship and future. We’re 100% glad we decided to choose that package and thrilled at what we were able to take away from it. It wasn’t like a dreaded homework assignment, it was a bonding experience and we used it to the best of our ability, we are already looking forward to continuing services at least once a year to make sure our focus doesn’t get deterred and that we are continuing to work on our solid foundation. The best part other than the obvious benefits of our relationship, was that Timmy makes it all enjoyable. He’s professional, easy going, and makes discussion easy versus feeling like you’re being preached at and lectured. Maybe we were the only ones who were a little intimidated by the thought of premarital counseling, but we were equally surprised that we throughly enjoyed it! Highly recommend his services!
Alice Howey: Timmy was absolutely amazing! He literally saved our wedding! Friday evening our wedding party showed up for the rehearsal at 1890 (our wedding venue) and our officiant did not show up. The event planner at 1890, Katie, recommended Timmy. She said he was THE BEST in the KC area! Well he did not disappoint. He contacted myself and my parents shortly after getting the request from Katie. We were soooo lucky he was available! After my phone call with Timmy I felt the stress just melt away!Timmy was so professional and fit the feel and style of our wedding to a T. It's like all this craziness was meant to happen! During our ceremony I was quite emotional and almost could not get my vows out. Timmy was totally prepared and placed a cute tasteful line (which he fed me without missing a beat) Everyone and myself broke out in laughter! We loved it because my husband and I laugh together and joke around alot. After the ceremony he snapped a selfie with us and our wedding party and parents. Evie Hauptmann: We just had our wedding at the Abbott this past weekend and I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this venue and the staff!! Mia, the venue coordinator, is top notch and was our favorite vendor we worked with throughout our engagement season. She is absolutely incredible, has the best ideas, and really cares about her couples. Our wedding day truly would have not been the same without her! The space: the Abbott has the most beautiful chandeliers throughout the space and can fit so many guests in there! It has such a cool bar area, cocktail hour space, balcony, and plenty of dancing room! Definitely put your dance floor under the chandelier. I was worried that the acoustics would be bad since it's such large area, but we used Icon Events for our DJ (who the Abbott partners with) and it couldn't have been more perfect! You could hear all the speeches and music from all corners of the venue without any echo!! This space hardly needs any crazy enhancements to make it beautiful because it is so gorgeous. ALSO - the gold chairs made the most amazing statement! We loved our experience at the Abbott!
Brian Yoksh: Cool place! I attended a wedding here and it was beautiful! A couple of bars and side spaces provides a transformative space for many sizes and types of gatherings. The bar service was slow though... 😒 The food was very good! 👍Acoustics of the space are great!🥁 They had a live band and the music and beat rocked!

West Rose: We worked at the Abbott recently for a wedding and styled shoot. It's a stunning and spacious venue with a lot of areas to decorate. It's a blank canvas full of possibility! Their team was professional and friendly.
Abby Mitchell: As a wedding planner it is crucial to work with a venue that is well kept and on top of their responsibilities. The Abbott (and it's sister properties) are always fantastic! From touring with Sam, to setting up with Brian you will be well taken care of.
C: The Abbott is basically a warehouse has a great (but smallish) outdoor balcony warehouse style and finished cement flooring. There is adequate air circulation (still hot though-not too good on air conditioning), small bar area ( could use an additional bar space for such a large area). Best part are on the ceiling, antique chandeliers probably salvaged from an upscale hotel.Band Of Angels fundraiser event was so fun! The event sold out with a 1,000 people in attendance, raising $100,000!Hallmark artists took irreparable, damaged musical instruments making fabulous art pieces. The night proceeded with a silent auction., Money went to give children instruments and grants to go to summer music camps!Only downside was the food trucks ran out of food way earlier.

Brent Lager: My new wife and I simply can not say enough amazing things about Mackenzie, Taylor and the entire staff at 28 Event Space. We had a big wedding (near 250) and they made it so easy and stress free for us. They were flexible, honest and just gave off the best energy throughout the entire process. From the day we toured to the moment we left the day after the wedding, they were great to us. And the space is absolutely perfect for every phase of the wedding experience. We'd absolutely love it, and would recommend them for whatever your needs are. Great people, great place, great experience!

Lyndsee Johnson: I toured 6 venues and could not find a better event space in the KC metro than 28 Event Space. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and extremely easy to work with. I think I asked them hundreds of questions leading up to our big day, to which they were immediately responsive, attentive, and extremely helpful. The bartenders included in our package were awesome and went above and beyond as they were willing to make all of our old fashioned's for our signature drink for our pup ("Otis Fashioned")! The Station was everything we had wished and hoped for - I would recommend to any couple looking for a place for their dream wedding! :)

Leah Berg: I think 28 Event Space is the best value venue in downtown KC. I did extensive research on venues in downtown KC for my wedding, and no one could compete with 28 Event Space’s price for everything that is included. A few of the main selling points for me were that our rental included a DJ, party bus, bride/groom getting ready suite, overnight access, use of your own vendors, and the ability to bring your own alcohol. They are the only venue in downtown KC (to my knowledge) to offer all of this, and at an incredibly fair price.In addition to all of this, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. We went with The Station which has an elegant marble backdrop as the centerpiece of the room. Everything is so updated and modern, which is exactly what we were looking for in a venue. The managers Mackenzie and Taylor are also incredibly responsive which is a must for wedding planning. They gave me a number to text with any questions and they almost always responded within ours. We mainly worked with Taylor, and she was so flexible with all of our requests. I can’t recommend 28 Event Space enough.
