Mairu: Called to see i could rent some chairs, well, talked like she was forced out of bed that morning! I had to hang up. Some training in customer service is where they need to start. The lady gave short answers, wouldn't offer options, no sensitivity, no tone. I asked if they would be able to deliver 50 chairs? She mumbes for 2 secs then asks me if i have any more questions. I know i heard a no somewhere in there, but i was actually planning on picking them up but, she shut me of. Well, i thought to myself, she sounds "busy", let her be busy, and so i hang up.

Samantha Clasen: We went through Big T Tents for our at home wedding this past September. They were very flexible leading up to the event and added on extra chairs for us last minute no hassle. The crew showed up early the morning before the event for the tent set up. They were quick and efficient. They showed us how to roll up the tent sides and gave us suggestions on how to properly hang lights in the tent. They were very helpful overall. I would recommend Big T Tent to anyone looking to save a few bucks and still receive a massive deal.

Tracy Jones: The crew arrived on time both to set-up and tear down for our event. They were very professional and efficient. I had good communication with the head of the crew regarding where we needed the tents, tables and chairs. Also, he easily adjusted when minor changes for placement arose. I was very happy and will use you again next year.

Shelby Bell: We booked Big T Tents for my wedding and they set up a 30'x30' tent with no stakes on a patio for us. Their quote was well below competitors and the tent worked very well for what we needed- a cocktail hour out of the wind. We also rented a few sets of string lights and those were very very important because we didn't have sides with windows. Part of what made Big T so competitive was that they did not take down the tent until Monday and so we didn't pay overtime for the labor. If you plan to book them this is something to ask about as I needed to clear it with my venue to keep the tent up for an extra day and half.

Sadie Miller: We have worked with Big T Tents on many occasions but this past one will be our last. They were to SET UP the tent, tables and chairs. They only set up the tent and just left the tables and chairs for us to do, when I specifically asked that they be set up for us. When setting them up, we realized one table was broken and held together with tape, and the rest were covered in mud. After scrubbing them ourselves, we called to let them know of our experience and they laughed at us saying that they didn't see an issue. Please rethink investing in their services unless you are prepared for an embarrassment and a lot of work on your part!!

If it hadn't been for my friend vouching for this place I wouldn't have ever gone and I wouldn't know what I was missing out on. The music is outstanding, the staff is phenomenal and the overall atmosphere is welcoming to new people and so positive. I want to come back even if it's out of my way just to experience what I did tonight again.

The richness of the trio playing was absolutely transporting! I'm horrible with names, but I caught one singer's name, Chloe. Terrific. A while later a quartet played that was a total joy, especially in watching the good time that Trent (I think) had, playing that trumpet. The music - great, the house - great, and the people - Great! I WILL BE BACK to the Blue Room!

Beth Kerns: Disappointing customer service. We rented a photo booth for our annual resident block party, and while the photo booth worked well and printed cute pictures, carnival times just wasn't very professional. The day before our party, I called to confirm that they were coming (I assumed they would reach out to me, but hadn't heard anything), and she had no idea who I was or what I was talking about, even though we had already received an invoice and paid a deposit. She then said she would make sure they had a photo booth available and call me right back...never heard back from her.On the day of the event, the guy who dropped the machine off, seeing that we didn't have a level place in the shade, said, "You know this has to be on concrete in the shade, right?" He was very condescending and I didn't appreciate it, especially considering the owner told me NOTHING in advance about placement (or anything for that matter).And finally, when the owner came back to make sure the booth was set up properly and put a tent over it, she said nothing to us. Not a handshake or thank you...nothing. Nothing near what you would expect when you're paying a big chunk of money.I'll give them two stars because the photo booth was nice and our residents loved the photo strips, but everything else left A LOT to be desired. Will not use them again and would not recommend.

Crystal Haley: I rented a few items from this place for a carnival themed birthday party that I was having for my daughters. The truck showed up 15 mins before the party to set up. Relieved that they finally made it, we watched them set up the Carnival “Midway” and the included games. As they were setting up the Midway, they realized that they couldn’t set up the games because they forgot the table to sit the games on! They decided to use a picnic table from the park shelter that we rented. We needed that table for seating, so many of the children had to stand when eating. Also, after the party started, and the children were attempting to play the games, we quickly realized that one of the games was missing pieces needed in order for the game to be played. After calling Beverly for the 50th time that day to complain, she offered me a $6 refund (which I never received) for the truck forgetting the table. Although the lack of the table, the time of delivery, the missing pieces to the game made the entire party look and feel like a joke. Carnival Times single handedly ruined my daughter’s party, and I will never use or recommend their services again.

Mikaela D: Carnival Times is always my family's go-to for birthday parties for sure. They have a HUGE selection of inventory to choose from and the customer service is great. Beverly, the owner is such a sweetheart and easy to work with. This summer we rented a mechanical bull for a house party and the guys that staffed it were awesome! They definitely made sure everyone had a good time. All around a great company 🤙👏👏👏

S S: Bev and Sierra in the Carnival Times office are very nice and kind! I loved working with them. They helped me get an additional insured for our insurance which was a pain in the you-know-what, but they made it simple. We have used CT in the past, and we will continue to do so in the future!

It met expectations, but I have to give a special shout out to Topher, the bartender while we were there. He did a fantastic job mixing drinks and talking cocktails and the city with us, so much so we decided to swing back by after our show ended. When we did, Topher was holding down the entire bar by himself which is no mean feat as anyone who has ever worked hospitality will know. So props to him.Overall, very cool atmosphere, pretty good cocktail list, good staff, we’ll be back!

Alexander Vallar: It's an extraordinary ambiance to fulfill your love of jazz. A very intimate setting with ideal acoustics. There isn't a bad seat in the house! The atmosphere is flawless and is honestly excellent for any night out. The mixologists are pure genius, and the servers are no slouches either. I tried the Havana Club for the first time, and my mouth is still satisfied. Overall, PS is a beautiful not so well kept secret in the city's heart. In other words, it's one of Kansas City's hidden gems. So make your reservations early because you will not be disappointed!

Mark Sanders: Felt like I was in 1931... but it was okay that I'm in an interracial marriage. The atmosphere is top tier. Our waitress was great and I appreciated how hard her and the bartender were working. The signature Old Fashioned is the way to go.

They had us on the calendar, even sent a quote (though it was for all the WRONG things because they were too lazy and inattentive to do their job and listen tot the customer). Promises were made and today, one month from the large event, they called to say they are too busy to help. They failed to hold our spot on the calendar and booked over us. Ooops. Horrible. Lazy. Dishonest. I could go on with more documented details of our two experiences, but am pretty certain, my point is clear...DON'T use this company!

Luckily they did return, but it was a very stressful experience. We are extremely disappointed and won't be using their services again.

I have been trying to reach someone since 10.03,04.2013... I called spoke with Rebecca today 10.11.2013 "OH!! Dawn Viets: Horrible experience!!! Stay away from using Marquee Rentals. Zero customer service and they have now sent us to collections over something they told us we wouldnt be charged for! I might add, zero correspondence from them-just a surprise collection notice! The customer is certainly not the priority!! Every other vendor we used was fabulous, but Marquee is a complete joke!!

Lisa Harrison: We used Marquee for our tent, table and linen needs for the Plaza Art Fair and had a very good experience, even when we made last-minute changes due to heavy rain in the forecast. Additionally, we asked them to special order two different linen colors for our VIP party and everything looked great.

tashiainkc: Never ever rent from this place! They told me on the phone Friday to pick up between 8am and 5pm on Saturday- guess what?! They close at 3pm on Saturday!! And if you call after hours there is no one available to contact in case of emergencies!!! NEVER AGAIN! Ruined our family Easter dinner!UPDATE: They did finally return my call late Saturday night, and apologized. They also gave me a full refund so I updated their score to two stars. I still wouldn't use them again because of this experience.

Ryan Dodd: I can't stress enough that this place is a joke. Very poorly managed and no cares at all about customer satisfaction. They don't care because they are the biggest event company and know they will still get your business. I know that many of the last 5 star reviews are current employees. There is no concern about their employees. Run them like dogs during the summer and cut their hours during the winter. Good job management. Just be cautious if you place an order. They usually won't call you with problems until the day before or day after. Make sure you tell your salesperson you want to know inventory during the first conversation. They will make the sale with no regards for the inventory on hand. If you choose them for your event, well good luck and wish you the best. If you have no issues with your event then go buy a lottery ticket because you are extremely lucky.

Chuck Stauch: I think Marquee event rentals will help you with your party plans for a wedding party or birthday ,company event with what ever you want from start to finish I highly recommend them.

Eric Strautman: Since The Abbott event space opened its doors in April of 2018, we've relied on Marquee to deliver linens and other items for our events. They've done a wonderful job. The linens are clean and well-pressed.

ernie rupp: If I could give less than 1 star I would. My boy scout troop for years has been using Marquee (All Seasons Party rental for commercial food warmers for our largest campout of the year. 2 out of the last 3 years they have sent us broken unusable warmers. This year they did not even have heating elements in them. I know we are a boy scout troop but what do you want us to do Marquee? Build fires in the bottom of your warmers? they did not even tell us about the problem. We had to find out at 4pm the day before when it is too late to make other arrangements. Called Marquee and Amanda said she would try to have an electrician come to our camp sight on Saturday to fix and would call me Sat am. no one showed up and Amanda never called me. they dont care about the small accounts only the large ones. We will find other arrangements for next year and i will want all of my money refunded. We ordered electric warmers not ones powered by Sterno as you suggested. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WHAT YOU GET WITH MARQUEE EVENT RENTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary Feuerborn: I highly recommend using Marquee Event Rentals. They have a nice selection of rental items and the showroom is gorgeous. People there are very helpful and it made it easy for me to get exactly what I needed. Thanks Again!

Erma Antwine: Don't bother doing business with them. Very unorganized and unprofessional. They offer things on web site that they don't carry and then try to pass the cost to you if they order it.

Jackie Kelling: As an event coordinator for a small business in Overland Park, I would not recommend Marquee Event Rentals. I'm giving them two stars because in the end we got what we NEEDED from them, otherwise I would give them one. Here's my story: My boss and I met with Vernon and Angel (Vernon's assistant) in April to discuss renting pillows, drapes, plates, glasses, table cloths, a tent, etc. for a work dinner event. I was blown away with the amount of inventory they have in their facility and the service that day was great. We left feeling satisfied and eager to hear back about a quote. However, after multiple emails, phone calls and texts, we never heard back from Vernon on a quote...ever! Three weeks later, I got a hold of Angel and she sent me over the quote. Prices were decent. At that point though, I had already reached out to Ultrapom to see if they could help us out (and they did!) since it was like pulling teeth to get a hold of Vernon. I would have cut ties right then and there, but we really needed a lot of pillows and Marquee had 70+. Throughout the entire process, Vernon was extremely hard to get a hold of and only responded once or twice, so I started working with Angel directly. Unfortunately, in the middle of everything, I was notified that Angel no longer works there. We ended up cancelling the entire order besides the pillows. I picked them up and dropped them back off myself and that process was smooth and the pillows were in decent shape. For having such a huge business, they seemed very unorganized. They even showed up the day after the event to "pick up the tent." ...We never rented a tent. Just the pillows!
