Royals Plaza Kansas City Sports Stadium Hotel Independence, Missouri: what do users think?
Veronica Mead: First, check in took 15 minutes and they tried to charge me an extra 30 dollars than what I'd reserved it for. Then, the room they gave me had a dirty towel in the corner and the refrigerator was broken and leaking water. They switched me to a new room, but that one was smaller and had peeling paint and stains and another broken fridge. Finally, breakfast was stale and bad. When I brought it up to a manager she told me "oh, sorry. Well have a good day". VERY disappointing experience. Should have left after the first room issue.
Scott Patrick: No fridge, no microwave, broke smoke detector and door lock, paint peeled off the wall in some spots.

C: This is the absolutely best cleanest friendliness hotel I've ever stayed in!!! Extremely clean super helpful staff. The staff is amazing they had some great recommendation on things to do close by they go above and beyond for their guest they make you feel like family. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody and know they would enjoy their stay!! I would definitely give this hotel 5 stars!!!
Tim Meise: Currently undergoing some construction. Rooms, breakfast and afternoon snacks on Mondays are as expected. Drew is a great assistant manager, very welcoming and friendly. Drew really made my stay pleasant.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Sea Mac: The employees were terrific. The front desk was friendly. Kim listened to me and apologized when I checked out. In the morning during breakfast, I can't remember her name, but she was right there, ready to assist a guest if needed. The room, not so much. Checking in, there are no obvious queues to the customer that there are areas under construction...until you check in, walk past the front desk and then see the plastic, tape, and maybe some signage....maybe.As you walk to your room, at least in my case, you pass rooms with open doors and plastic haphazardly taped over the doorframe over the door. The stairways, unkempt, as the one I traversed had a toothpick on the steps for the four days I was there. The elevator, expect to spend a good portion of your stay in it, as it's the slowest elevator I've ever been in.So, my room, I will let the photos make the case. Signs of water damage on the ceiling, cracks in the walls, and really bad interior lighting. Unsealed doorframes, bad stucco, and lack of detail when cleaning were obvious. The basketball court. Two nights, I'm awake at 1 a.m. listening to someone play basketball outside. The room just wasn't what I expected from a Marriott property.
Jack B. Hartman: I met a friend here for a romantic getaway. We had a great time and they served a wonderful breakfast.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Romantic, Quiet, Great value, High-tech …More
Dolly Rijnsburg: Net hotel met ontbijt vriendelijk personeel
Jack B Hartman: This was a great visit. The rooms are super clean and spacious.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Rossin Hartz: Very polite front desk lady. Let me use a basketball to shoot hoops.
Shan Willis: Nice and friendly staff.
Miss Cheri: Favorite home away from home
Doug Lengel: Just a heads up that at least today, there were no elevators.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Adam Whitt: Stayed here 4 nights for a work trip. My biggest issue with my stay is that this hotel is currently under what I would call a major renovation from either massive water damage or an extreme remodel project. Half the hotel is gutted down to the studs mainly in the middle portions and the elevators were not working. Personally, I think they should let consumers know that their hotel is under renovation before booking. My room was clean on the surface but if you looked closely it was not by any means squeaky clean - I had chewed gum on my walls, and it was pretty obvious that the rooms were surfaced cleaned in any high touch areas. However, I had a suite style room that was spacious and comfortable for the most part. My only other issue with this hotel is the location, it is backed up into a small section of woods and attracted some shady activity. I opened up my blinds at 9 AM one morning and there was someone breaking into cars right in plain sight in broad daylight. They do have security on staff which I reported to immediately after seeing this. All staff I encountered were very friendly.
Jennifer White: It was clean and the breakfast was good.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Phillip Zieser: Fantastic property!! Great staff!
Christy Starner: Everyone here was extremely nice and seemed happy to be there - from the breakfast attendant to the housekeepers to the maintenance person. The rooms were clean and quiet.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Jessica Minard: Was a great stay beautiful hotel!! Swimming pool great breakfast!!
Christina Hering-Biggs: We had a great, quick stay here. The customer service was top notch. The Assistant Manager, I believe his name is Drew, went above and beyond to be helpful to us.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More

Quality Inn & Suites Kansas City - Independence I-70 East: what do users think?
Lowell Miller: It looks like it was a nice facility at one time. Maintenance has been Band-Aids. The shower was a slow drizzle and a pet peeve as I like a good volume shower. I couldn't find the light switch in the shower and discovered it is an outlet light switch combo which I've never seen before. The switch itself was extremely small and obscure. The sink faucet was floppy. No microwave but you could see where one used to be. There was a fridge. I enjoyed the bran flakes and milk for breakfast. I tried the biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were still cold in the center. I use Quality Inn frequently in this one was a little below average in my opinion. Not terrible but a disappointment nonetheless. When I went to check in it was a typical scenario. I walk up to the front door and the front desk lady is sitting on the curb smoking a cigarette. I feel so welcomed...God Bless her
Randy's Random Thoughts: Pretty basic. it needs updating.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Marcelino medina: ALOT of druggies hanging aroundRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Vickie Cooper: Our aunt was the one who stayed there. The service and rooms were nice, except one night, something in the room made her have an allergic reaction, so she had to change rooms. Also, they change prices on you depending on the demand for the rooms. So, the price could go up or down depending on what is going on in the city.
Joshua-Stacie Unruh: Spacious rooms. A little outdated photos. Acceptable breakfast accommodations. Comfy beds .Rooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Mona Stewart: This hotel was horribly filthy. I would not recommend anybody to stay in such filth.Rooms: The rooms and bathrooms were so filthy with mold and mildew. Oh it is so horrible people. Please always check reviews before you get a hotel room. I was overcharged overpriced. My credit card was charged twice.
Josh Chowning: Hotel smells like sewage, toilet hardly wants to flush, no microwave, the air-conditioning sounds like a villan from mad max, house keeping is non existing, front desk can't help you, the manager is only here 4 hrs a day to not fix any problems. Seriously how is this place not shut down, there are several hotels around here save yourself the hassle of moving rooms
Ronald Rieger: After being asked to pay a $100 deposit, our stay was miserable, and I still have not received my deposit back after a month. I've called every day for a week, being told a manager would call me back. Every single day they still do not call me back, as well as claiming they have no proof I paid a deposit. Expecting to take the issue to small claims court if I have to.Room was musty, lightbulbs we're missing, our room key stopped working twice, mold in the bathroom.
Geovanni Padlla: Great location & great customer service by late nights lady who attended me. 😀 even the custodian lady was nice." The sad part is the hotel manager, it's creating political rules charging deposits to customers who actually paid online, that it's a bad business.""Sometimes a good customer service person save their reputation. As the room was great 👍 comfortable, clean, many food locations..
Michael Murphy: I booked and paid for my room through PricelineWhen I checked in, I was told there was a $100 depositI was charged 77 more dollars for the room plus the $100 depositWhen I checked out, I got a receipt for the return of my $100 deposit made out to a different person with the same name as me the manager is only there from noon till 3 PM and not there at all on Sunday and no one else can help me It’s hard to believe that this is a quality inn, seeing as they’re a nationwide franchise, but they’re run like a mom and pop candy store
Juice Whitley: The suites are actually a really great size for the price
Scarlett Cooper: I’m glad I only paid $60 bc this place is a dump. The room was awful & we were upgraded to suite after they put us in a room that wasn’t clean. The toilet didn’t flush, shower had huge mold area, furniture & carpet stained, bedding had rips & tears, everything was dirty. Light bulbs were even missing in lamps. If you’re there just to sleep then it’s fine.
Devang Patel: Nice motel
Notyo Mamas: Give it a 2 because bed was comfortable now with that being said it was 2am when I booked it online I only needed it to sleep I was tired driving for a while when I go to the hotel the front desk guy employed was rude and instantly said I made a mistake and that it was on the wrong date… well I asked him to please change it he goes well I can but that will be a fee $10 for what changing dates mind you this hotel didn’t have people at least a lot so I don’t see why he couldn’t do it without a fee or at least he should of been nice at it… second where the fridge was so nasty and looked like they had a leak or something because that dresser was broken… by the bed the carpet was coming off. The tv was super small… room was very cold.. the bed frame was very dirty.. the lobby was gross the dry wall was very not good the stairs going to my room was very gross… a nasty sock on the fire hydrogen… door going outside glass was not clean trash outside was overflowing! Last but not least the lobby had 4 little space heaters going looked very unorganized. Also almost forgot the little fish pond they had was super gross trash all over swisher rolls and just not good.!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Independence-Kansas City, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
Karla Sutton-McKinney: Superior hospitality...Rebecca, Christy(??), another young lady, Dining room attendant (Karen), two grounds/maintenence personnel, since Covid, best hotel experience to date...all other reviews will be measured against the service provided here... THANK YOU 😊Food & drinks: The area is saturated with eating establishments on both sides of I-70...choices to satisfy almost all pallets.Noteworthy details: Rooms have tubs, 😆🤣
D Cline: I had a group of students stay here. The staff was accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Breakfast was hot and there was plenty for all. I highly recommend this location for future trips.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly, Great value …More
nathan buck: Great staff, and good options for breakfast. Rooms clean and well kept. Some wear on the tub and tile that should be repaired. Hot tub had some brown stuff floating on the foam and along the side - assume it's probably sediment, but not normal for well kept hotel hot tubs.
Mark Smith: Solid Four Star. Highly Recommend.Pros:Staff - All show pride of ownership in working here. Management are friendly and professional.Maintenance - The facilities and property are all well-maintained.Location - Close to Truman library, restaurants in abundance, and safe neighborhood.Sleep - The bed and linens were so soft and high quality. I'd love to have those sheets at my house. Room was very quiet. Very little heard from hotel traffic or outdoors.Cons:Housekeeping - Although the bedding was fantastic. I could smell the previous occupants perfume/cologne on the comforter. Also, both the clock radio and TV remote were gross; and were ironically under a sign noting how cleanliness is their top priority. Sadly, I checked-in at night with limited staff, or I would've notified them of the issue. But, the next morning management were quick to address the issues.Yes, I would definitely recommend staying here, and would gladly be a return customer.Food & drinks: So-so. Although the eating are was well tended and cared for, the food itself was bland and fair at best. You may leave still feeling hungry.Noteworthy details: I have to stress again how great the staff is here. The maintenance, front desk, dining, and management were all exceedingly friendly and highly professional.
David Chamberlain: Prices can be a bit High sometimes but consistently good service.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Chaney Connelly: Went with my 7 year old and husband. Although we live here, we just went for a week and was stayed for a change of scenery! Hotel atmosphere was nice and light. Last time I visited the decor was too heavy. Rooms were too dark and beds weren't so great. Haven't stayed in a room for a long time so I wasn't sure or the money, our suite was The pool was clean and a great distraction for bored children. Accomodations were nice. King size bed was fabulous. Clean. Staff was great.
Ted K: Clean, up to date rooms
Emily Bevelacque: Hotel staff was very friendly. There were warm cookies one night that were delicious. This hotel has clearly been remodeled, but it's still a little abused looking in the rooms. My 3rd floor room had two stink bugs in it, but overall, it was mostly clean and comfy. I'd stay here again foursure.Food & drinks: Lots chain restaurants nearby
Monty Thompson: Clean and comfortable, close to food and shopping.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Greg Cotter: Front desk person on 3/11/23 were very noncommittal to get out of her chair and greet us. Room had peeling drywall tape in multiple places. Needs help.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Jeanette Aguila: We stayed her for a week and the Continental breakfast is awesome. Nice and friendly staff. The weekday cook was great.
Abe Millsap: Room was poorly lit. Bathroom not very clean. Staff however were very nice.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5 …More
DJ Hermen: The buzzkill fun police Bethany at the front desk screamed at us for having an “open container.” Instead of being polite and using appropriate customer service skills she decided to go the opposite direction. Claims that Independence MO has a law about having an alcoholic beverage in a lobby. If that’s the law/rule, fine, but we are likely from out of town since we’re at your hotel. Rudeness gets one star ratings and the next time we visit KC to see the Ambush play we’ll stay elsewhere. Lots of options, and Bethany lost your business.
Tony Suarez: The only reason this hotel didn't get 5 stars from me was because half the TV channels, including FOX, NBC, and CBS we're unavailable due to technical issues at the hotel with Dish Network equipment.Otherwise, the rooms were great. The service was really friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our needs.
phillipatomus: Price a little high do to playoff weekend. However, place is clean. Staff is super friendly and breakfast is one of best I've had at Holoday Inn ever.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Days Inn by Wyndham Independence: what do users think?
Yog: Disappointing Experience at the MotelI recently stayed at this motel and unfortunately had a highly unsatisfactory experience. The check-in process was marred by the rude behavior of the staff member, who questioned the number of occupants in our room when we simply requested additional towels due to the hot weather and our need for nighttime showers. Furthermore, he neglected to provide essential information such as the WiFi password and breakfast hours. The rooms were visibly unclean, with noticeable bugs on the beds. I regret to say that I will not be returning to this establishment in the future.
S. Gabriel: It appears this motel and the surrounding few motels are running a fraud ring. My family was scammed at this Days Inn/America's Best Vaue Inn, and based on the clearly sketchy set up, I'm sure we weren't the only guests this has happened to. Don't waste your money or time here. This was the worst service I have ever recieved by far, and shockingly expensive with all of the hidden fees. Upon our arrival in MO at 11:30PM, we were informed that our reserved room at Days Inn was given away without reason. The main staff member I delt with was Pikay, who seemed wholey unphased that he had given away our room until I frantically showed up next door at America's Best (a laughable name based on our experience) Value Inn, which, as it turns out, is run by the same staff. Both hotels must have the same owners, and there are a couple of other motel's in the immediate vicinity, which I assume are also owned by these fraudsters. We were charged more for this new room, which we took out of desperation after 12 hours of driving and the very late hour. This felt suspucious, but I was too tired to bother fighting it (a fact I am sure the shady staff was banking on). Neither place was clean or well maintained. Pikay proceeded to mischarge us for our stay, which we only found out because we recieved a call the next morning letting us know we now owed more. Had I known what a clearly fraudulent endeavor this would be, and how much extra I would spend, I wouldn't have given this place a second glance before moving right along to the next motel. The price after all was said and done was unreasonable, and we could have stayed somewhere much nicer for a lower monitary and emotional cost. I suggest you do just that so you can get a good night's rest with out being defrauded by this abysmal motel staff. To be clear, I have stayed at quite a few other locations of both motel chains, and have had perfectly fine experiences, but this cluster of motels in MO should not be trusted.
Alvvin Reynosa (CHU4A_CABw4-54. Chewy): The check in policy is slow. I was put up there 1 night during NFL DRAFT weekend so I had to take Uber from KC to Columbia, thank God corporate paid for Uber to and from the station to hotel and back to station. It a very neglected hotel. Not safety friendly to high risk travelers (elderly, ladies, children). Bords with nails laying around. Two separate building and language barrier accent of the owner very hard to understand. Demanding deposit, had to call corporate. Keep traveling if possible. YOU BEEN WARNED!!!Rooms: Very basic 2 star motel, no real amenities. Says free WI FI but the connection is so weak, just use ur data.Safety: Very dark, isolated, ply wood laying around. Not advised for Travelers who are high risk... elderly, women alone, and males alone traveling with children. Basically only single males and partying people advised to stop hereWalkability: The walk from office to room is about 10 mins walk. I told office Uber just dropped me off could I please get a room close to walk to with my luggage.Noteworthy details: Front office agrees to anything you ask them, then they say , how much you pay, then you ask room close to office bc Uber dropped u off they say I don't know, this is your room 10 mins walk it was no exaggeration. Accents very hard to understand and after you pay them. They walk away to a room and ignore you, I am like what the heck. STAY AWAY!!!
wanda036: Nice place to sleep clean rooms nice employeesRooms: Clean and comfortableRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Randy's Random Thoughts: Crack head alley. Avoid at all cost.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Lee Nelson: This was an…interesting experience, to say the least. The check-out office was in a different hotel entirely and it was a pain navigating everything. The check-in guy wasn’t really any help either. The room was also by far the jankiest room I’ve ever stayed in. Smelled odd.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Ereka Lindsay: Breakfast was horrible. Spiders in my room. Dirt behind my bed and night stand. House cleaning entered my room while I was sleep. Dangerous set up. Rude front desk not very helpful. Trash from the parking lot all the way up to my room. Fees per day. Horrible stay!!Walkability: Lots of close by shoppingFood & drinks: Plenty of food options close by
Porsche Shelden: Rooms were nasty and trashy looking. Run down. And the fact thats it in independence gives it less stars...Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 1/5 …More
K Mc: The room smelled so bad I couldn't even sleep, blow dryer didn't work, bedspread had cigarette burns all over it. Very over priced.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 2/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Ddarkest Knight: Rooms: Most of them are.... honestly horrible as far as aesthetics go also the air freshener I swear was soooo strong it may have well been radioactive.Noteworthy details: I asked to switch rooms multiple times and the attendants were very patient and helpful. More than I expected them to be. Very professional attitudes.
Wanda Molder: Nice, clean, comfortable, convenient area especially nice employees will be backRooms: Clean and comfortableNearby activities: Shopping

switchblade2004able: Called me at work to tell me my room smelled after a month without seeing housekeeping. No sheets, no towels, no toilet paper, no sweeping, mopping, or wiping of anykindRooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Kenneth Conway: This is the only star I can give. I was going to voice my opinion but decided not to. You get what you pay for! It's better to shop a little more pay that extra dollar and get into something much better.
Robert Lawrence: 4 days in a row housekeeping has not came in and because we come in late from working we have not been able to get clean washcloth or towels let alone any service in the room from housekeeping. I have went to the front desk and complained three different times about the same thing.... And they have not even tried to accommodate us in the least possible way. You're better off going somewhere else obviously.... And we will too...
Rashe Wooten: The front desk clerk, very negative person. It's like he put a past visitors mishaps on the next. Doesn't give you a chance to fix or make anything rightRooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 5/5 …More
