Mia Ferguson: Worst hotel stay of my life. I had to travel for business and booked a stay at this location. I always associated Embassy Suites with luxury but I was highly disappointed with this location. I checked in after a 12+ hour drive and requested a rolling luggage rack. Was told we had to look for one ourselves and one may be in the garage or on the 1st floor room adjacent to the front desk. Looked in both places and could not locate one. Carried all of our luggage to the room, only to find the furniture was dirty and stained. The bathroom was not clean. The sink was slow draining. Both TVs did not work. One TV wouldn't turn on at all and the other would turn on then freeze up, so it was just a radio. The refrigerator, did not work either. I meal prepped my pets food prior to the trip and had to keep it refrigerated. I promptly called about these two things and was told someone would be sent up to our room to look at both of them but no one ever showed up. No call, no follow up, nothing. I went out to get ice to put in the cooler so my pets food would not spoil. But, guess what? There were no working ice machines on any floor. We went to all of them. None of them worked. There was a sign posted saying there was ice on only 4 floors but that was untrue. We had to leave and go purchase ice to keep the food from spoiling because the refrigerator did not work and no ice machine worked. Unacceptable. I also picked this location because it was dog friendly. I was told to use the field adjacent to the property. The field was unkempt with foot high weeds and trash. To add insult to injury, we only got about 2 hours sleep because of the outside noise. There were street racing noises, gun shots, police sirens and yelling ALL NIGHT LONG at this location and we could not turn on the TV to drown out the noise because the TV did not work. I had also booked a night coming back from my business trip and cancelled the second stay. I have pictures and video. Horrible experience and not addressed by the hotel or the corporate office at all. Very disappointing. Will never stay at another Embassy Suites again.
Daniel Dutton: The neighborhood is beyond sketchy. The parking is closed off with a toll bar and costs $20 extra per night to use. There's a sign that makes sure you know that any vandalism or theft is not the responsibility of the hotel. The building and rooms are rundown with stains on the floor and ceiling. The complimentary breakfast was terrible The bacon tasted like stale cooking oil. The coffee machines were all broken but one. The donuts were old and dry. Sara Borland: As a silver Hilton Honors member who intentionally selects Hilton for the satisfaction guarantee, I’m sadly dissatisfied. The hotel is in an excellent location- it’s why we chose it! Walking distance to lots of great spots. The building has a ton of potential with its beautiful atrium and spacious rooms, but is in desperate need of renovation and deep cleaning. Carpets dirty and stained and decor are outdated.The staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful.Our biggest frustration was the elevator situation. When you have a 14-story hotel you must have reliable and efficient elevators. Of the three elevators, only two worked consistently, but were very small and slow. We returned to the hotel late on a Saturday night after a show, and had to wait at least 20 minutes in the garage for an elevator. Only one was functional - very frustrating. Yes, stairs were an option but walking 6 flights of stairs from the garage to the 5th floor isn’t realistic to ask.Would definitely not recommend this hotel for anyone in any sort of schedule to keep because you have to plan to wait for an elevator for at least 10-20 minutes!

K. G.: So, I don't mind that the hotel was a little dated, seemed clean and the front desk staff were very nice, some hidden fees and the hot tub did not work. The happy hour bartender was very nice and friendly. BUT the breakfast server with red braids on the morning of June 5th, 2023 was ABSOLUTELY rude. I will admit that I got there just a couple minutes after 9 with my two kids because we didn't sleep well the night before. But we were trying to be quick and get food so they could clean up. She made some snarky comment, then when I was standing in front of the fresh fruit trying to get my daughter some fruit she quickly grabbed the serving utensils so we couldn't get any!!! I mean come on; I am trying to feed my kid here. I know you were trying to get to your smoke break (she was outside smoking when we went to our car), but GEEZ, that is not how you treat people! When we sat down it was 9:07, there was no reason for you to be so rude to us.Food & drinks: Happy hour was a nice touch.

Scott Hubert: MY family recently got the pleasure of staying at this property for nearly a week for an event at the convention center. The hotel is a bit dated and our room was not in the best of shape (fridge malfunctioning, TV's are of low quality, carpet and furniture seemed grungy). The bar was closed two nights during our stay, the laundry machines were out of order, the elevator was out of service for a day and the hot tub has evidently been shut down indefinitely. However, none of this ruined our stay as overall, the hotel was delightful. It is a spacious property with plenty of area in foyer and downstairs to enjoy your visit. There is a full bar with happy hour on most days. The pool is decent and kids really enjoyed that. The breakfast is of good quality with a fresh, made-to-order omelette station. Even better, the hotel is centrally located very near the "happening part" of town where one can find great food, cold drinks and great company within a simple 5 minute walk. If you drive to the hotel, do note that there is a rather significant parking fee +$20/night. Some of that is worthwhile though as you can park in the garage and the connected elevator will take you right up to your floor. The most important component that ensured our stay was enjoyable was the service. From the maids to the front desk, the staff seemed eager to assist and work to make the time at this Embassy Suites visit enjoyable. I'd especially like to thank Ms. Christy Reed, who exceeded our expectations when faced with an unexpected challenge. Ms. Reed is an amazing asset to the Hilton properties and I'm glad our paths crossed. Thanks Embassy Suites team for a job well done!
Steven Straws: Wow! How the mighty have fallen!!! My wife and I have visited Embassy Suites plenty of times before over the last few decades. Used to be top of the line and we used to love it. Now, a complete 180. The floors are stained and look like they've been there for 50 years. One of the three elevators didn't work, and of the two remaining ones one had duct tape the size of a basketball covering the floor as if there was a hole in the floor of the elevator! Completely unbelievable and unacceptable! Had to go to four different ice machines just to get ice! That's just getting to room! Once at the room on the 11th floor the room would have had an amazing view, but since our window was SO dirty and stained we couldn't even enjoy want would have been the best part! The TVs were very old and outdated with horrible quality at that. No channel lineup and extremely grainy! Hoping you could find something on the tiny TV. They were suppose to have an app that you could download to get the channel lineup, but that NEVER worked! No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Barely any water pressure in the shower. And if you like a hot shower, good luck getting that cuz they're hot is just barely lukewarm! All in all just a shame! Embassy Suites and Hilton should be ashamed to have this hotel in their lineup, especially for a little over $200! And we're Hilton Honors members! Can't see us EVER going back! Just so sad!
Rob Brewer: I’ll start with the only positive….the staff was nice. Outside of that, it was very subpar!!! The worst was the fact that my rental car was stolen from the “secure” garage. The first room was not ready, so we got moved to a new room. The new room….toilet tank was extremely loose, every outlet was loose and the tv didn’t work. I put in a request for repair of the tv and the toilet at 0830 am, the staff did not submit the request until 2pm. They showed up at 5:30 to do the repairs…..we were in the room be then, so no!!! This place needs a serious update!!!!!Rooms: Rooms are in need of updating…..tvs don’t work, no built in ups ports, and the outlets are so loose they will not hold out chargers.
Hazel Giullari: This Hilton is the most disgusting and run-down hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I booked it through the Hilton App and didn’t bother checking the reviews. The carpets throughout the hallway and rooms are so disgusting; as soon as you walk out of your room, you can smell weed in the hallway, the bathroom was clogged, and so on. But the smell of weed is what really bothered me the most. I’m not sure if that was why they were three police officers roaming the hotel floors (I could be wrong), but bottom line, AVOID this place at all costs!!

Tony Wahl: All of the employees are amazing! The hotel was more than accommodating to me and my family. We did have a small issue when we pulled out the pullout bed. That issue was quickly fixed. The breakfast was great and the hotel was clean! The only sad part was the jacuzzi was removed. Would we do to or to stay here? Absolutely! We are already planning out next trip.
Mackenzie Bowers: Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Checked the website several times AND called to make sure a pack-and-play would be available for a two year old and was reassured that there would be on for our stay. We get there and were very rudely told by the front desk that they don’t offer the pack-and-plays. Room was dated out of the 70s, beds were like sleeping on rocks, and even with the thermostat set at 62 we were sweating through the night. Only good thing about this stay was that it was so close to the airport. We will NOT be staying here again.

The refrigerator was leaking water all over the floor and the ottoman infront of the couch was broken. The bathroom was not properly cleaned with hair on the floor and in the tub, sticky floors, slimy tub bottom and spots on the mirror.Overall a very unwelcoming hotel. Guest are treated as nuisances - especially by the overnight staff.If you travel with a group, I would avoid this hotel.The hotel is dirty, poorly run and unfriendly. I expect this from a roadside motel, not Embassy Suites. Changes need to be made at the management level.

Mark McIntyre: We used the Embassy Suites to host a formal event recently. Words fail to express how impressed I was with the wait and event staff. Mike was the event staff lead and his support was exceptional. He assisted our event planners and fulfilled every request. It was refreshing to see such a dedicated team: something uncommon in today's workforce. The food quality also exceeded expectations and was delivered on time and at the perfect temperature. Please consider using this location for any future formal or event needs. You will not be disappointed.

Johnny Herod: This was our first time staying in this particular hotel in Overland Park. We have stayed in Embassy Suites in the past so expectations were high. We understand this hotel had undergone recent renovations. Parking was adequate and lobby clean. Desk/guest assistant was friendly. We were fortunate to get a corner room that was large, clean and well-decorated. Problems noted: air vents in bathroom were in need of thorough cleaning, so we assume the room vents also need attention; door to sleeping area was ill-fitted, sticking and hard to close/open; morning breakfast area was clean but not well maintained- waffle batter dispenser very hard to initially operate; we discovered one of waffle irons was not turned on, such that when we put batter in unknown at the time cold device, then flipped switch on, the resulting waffle stuck to iron as it heated, and was not easy to remove; decaf coffee container was not there or not labeled; tea selection consisted of green tea and lemon tea, no non-specialized flavor teas bag available; attendants were on personal devices while working in areas. We will rethink our Hilton hotel selection on our return visit.

Kelsey McFalls: Outside of the hotel looks a little dated, but the inside was very nice. Staff were all friendly and answered any questions we had. The complimentary evening drinks were nice. Dinner was a little pricey but tasted good. Breakfast was also good. The rooms were spacious and looked nice. New appliances and modern looking furniture.Some critiques would be that the AC in our room didn’t work well. It was hot in there at night. The beds were a little too firm personally, and the pillows were also very flat. The pull out sofa was also very worn out. The pool had a weird smell, almost like sewage, and the tiles were falling off the walls in the pool area in some places. I also noticed the air vent in the bathroom was very nasty looking. I looked at the other air vents in the room afterwards and noticed they all look caked over with mold and dust. The towels were also very rough compared to other Hilton locations we’ve stayed at.Overall it was a decent experience. Would probably look at a different hotel to stay at if we were coming back through the area.

Angie St John: Rooms were clean and comfortable. Met family for a mini vacation and had a great experience with all of the staff, especially Josh who was on the evening shift. We were able to meet downstairs to socialize and play board games with the kids and not have to cram 8 people into one of the rooms and possibly bother other guests. Mentoria Moments: I give them no rate! I’ve had my reservations for weeks I have even called to check on my reservation. I paid for it in cash upfront just to be told they do service the community around them because people have brought things and people that wasn’t supposed to. MTpilot: Incredibly friendly staff, very clean rooms and fair prices. The breakfast was great (made to order omelets) and the hotel was nice and quiet. Only complaint was the pullout couch was a joke of a mattress. I have twin 4 year olds that will sleep on just about anything and even they complained about the springs coming through and poking them. These aren’t mattresses, don’t kid yourselves. Just get some 4” memory foams like other hotels in the Hilton brand. The kiddos ended up sleeping on the couch cushions…
