Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence: what do users think?
Sierra Jennings: Had an awesome time for Mothers Day weekend here. Relaxing a side the pool and not having any problems with crowded areas. .,Would suggest if want to have a short family get away ,away from home....Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great value …More

Megan Schwarz: For the most part not bad. Price could have been better and so could have front desk service.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Michelle Stohr: Nice, good view and food for breakfast. It was a very calm stay nothing exciting or worrying which as a mom of a bunch this was a huge plus. The pool was nice, hot tub is pretty small but I’ll take it, 3ft pool inside, deeper pool is outside (they’re connected)
Kelley Neal: Very clean, wish we would of been told pool eas down for maintenanceRooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Juan Alcala: Love the hotel great location for wherever you want to goRooms: ExcellentNearby activities: Everything was close bySafety: Walking areas were very helpfulWalkability: Walking distance to some places were goodFood & drinks: Loved the Mexican restaurant across from the hotel, food and drinks were great
Caroline McBride: Went to a trade show there and did not stay in the rooms. It is not a luxury hotel, but it was clean. I would say decent quality for a convention, but it was not impressive.Nearby activities: Next door to a Bass Pro. Near to a major shopping center as well as a kid's adventure place.
b l: Went there for a major fundraiser. Great facility for that.
Betty Hargreaves: Love staying hereRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Adam Cohen: An excellent night's stay. They overbooked and bumped us up to a larger room with a seating area, bunk beds and king bed.Sound-proofing was excellent, hardly heard anything else from anyone.Water pressure was good and the provided shampoo, conditioner etc were bath & body works.Breakfast stays open until 10am.Will definitely stay here again.
Rosemary S: Nice hotel. Great location. 👍Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Vanessa Liddell: Kap and MacKenzie are phenomenal, amazing, exceptional! Truly all the good things! I have NEVER been to any hotel that instantly makes you feel like family. This property INSTANTLY welcomes you when you walk in, the staff are sooo hospitable and sweet and the leadership exude those same attributes. As a travel nurse, this was a home away from home and a scenic getaway all in one! Definitely has become my preferred hotel for booking! Please make more!To add- Sandy is phenomenal! she provided EXCEPTIONAL customer service, this hotel and staff have superceded my expectations - A hidden gem for sure!Noteworthy details: Scenic getaway
Sarah Kessler: Dirty and small rooms. If we ever came back, we’d have to get a room with a balcony to be able to walk around a bit. Row machine was broken… I don’t know why it was kept in the gym? Other than that, the kids loved the pool and staff was nice :) Also a nice lake to walk around to the playground.
Cross Family Fun: We only stayed overnight while we were passing through but it was a very nice and clean room. The grounds are beautiful and they serve a nice breakfast. If we’re ever in town for a longer visit we will definitely stay here.
James Coonrod: A great place to have meetings and banquets highly suggest looking into it if you need their servicesRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Tyler Baughn: Rooms were nice, breakfast was OK, and the location was great. But the hot tub and pool were closed, so that was disappointing. The main thing that bothered me was that there were ants. Bought fudge from a candy store and put it on the desk to eat, but after a few hours, it was covered in ants, and so was my drink. Will not come back again till it's taken care of.
Krystyn Quinones: Absolutely amazing hotel. The rooms were clean and the breakfast not bad. The best part was walking our dogs around the lake. It is a protected lake so there were so many animals to see and the waterfalls were super cool. My 4 year old is obsessed with hotels and said this one was the coolest he's been too and that he is claiming it as his hotel. I wish they would expand just a little to reach the western U.S. as we would only stay here if they did.

Tom: The hotel it's self is very nice. The first night we stayed, I'm pretty sure someone tried to break into our car because the back hatch alarm was going off when we left the next morning. The elevator sounded like a death trap. But other than that, it was a nice stay. I do have an issue with the bathroom doors. I'm not sure who thought a sliding door would be nice, but it made our stay very uncomfortable.
Hannah Corcoran: Didn't stay there. Just there for an interview but it was very clean and pretty
Cheryl Kurtz: We immediately noticed after checking in that there was only a trickle of water from the bathtub faucet when we tried to draw a bath. The water also never got warm. There was slightly more water from the showerhead, but very weak water pressure and again the water never got warm- only cool or lukewarm at best. We notified the front desk person immediately, and were told the issue would be addressed and we would be notified of a resolution. When we returned to the hotel for our next night’s stay the next evening, the issue was unresolved. We again informed the front desk clerk, also showing the clerk a video of the issue at this point. The clerk again assured us the issue would be addressed and that we would be notified of a resolution. Neither happened. We spent our entire 3 night stay without the ability to take an adequate or warm bath or shower ( a very basic expectation when paying to stay in a hotel.) We notified the clerk again when we checked out and requested to be informed what compensation would be offered to us. I contacted the manager on the following day. He informed me that he checked the room, and the water pressure was fine in the shower and with hot water, which was a blatant lie. I requested to be credited for 1 night of our 3 night stay, which I feel would have been a fair resolution. The manager refused, stating that all he could offer me was a 10% discount. There was absolutely not even a hint of an apology, and he seemed very unconcerned when I informed him I would be contacting the corporate office for Best Western and that we would not be returning to this hotel, despite our frequent visits to family in this area. Unbelievable! Don’t book a stay at this hotel. There are plenty of others in the area where I’m sure you can at least take a warm shower!

Erika Jakich: NEVER STAY HERE!!! THEY STOLE MONEY FROM ME. I called to book a room for 2 nights. My card was charged 308. I arrived and checked into the hotel. Got my room keys and then checked my balance on my card they had actually charged me 430.06. I had to wait till the following day to speak with management. I told management that I would be checking out and at that point the owner told me. I was not getting my money back for the night I was not staying and he was also keeping my money for incidentals. So he stole $430 from me. For a 1 night stay!!! NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! THEY WILL STEAL MY MONEY THEY WILL STEAL YOURS!!
Kevin Smith: Nice place, clean, well lit at night rooms are very nice would stay there again most definitely!!!!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Erika Winters: I’ve stayed here twice now. Each time was for around a week long. The front desk staff are always super friendly, room service ladies are amazing at what they do and so nice as well. The pool has never been busy when I visit so it’s really nice being able to come down and relax. Breakfast tastes delicious. The rooms look gorgeous and nicely updated. Overall this is a great place to stay!
Natasha Luna: This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I chose this hotel because of all of the good reviews on google. Extremely disappointed. We were placed in a room next to the ice machine, the laundry and the pool. There was so much noise. I could hear the ice machine loud and clear every time someone used it even after I put towels at the bottom of my door and had a Hatch sound machine playing white noise. People were screaming at the pool. Plus several times throughout the night there were random car alarms going off in the parking lot. I woke up at midnight to a vehicle parked with their headlights pointed right at my window and they were blasting loud music. Came out in the morning to someone parked 5 inches from my vehicle so I had to move it just to get my children loaded. The room was not clean at all. You'd think that when you have to pay extra for a pet friendly room that it would at least be clean. There was hair all over and dead bugs in the corner of the bathroom. The beds were comfortable but I barely slept at all with all the incessant noise. Some creeper approached my husband in the hallway and tried to pay him to give him a ride to "get him out of here."
Kelly Schadeck: Overall good experience! The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. A few things to note: The pool water appeared cloudy which can be an indication that the chlorine is not working effectively. The elevator sounded clunky and was a little nerve wracking. The bathroom door is a sliding door and does not lock, which leaves little privacy and may be problematic for some folks sharing a room. Would stay here again despite these things!Safety: Felt safe tucked away from the road behind a shopping center. Well lit parking lot.Food & drinks: Beverages, candy, snacks available for purchase. 24/7 coffee and tea station.
Rebecca Teague: They are very friendly and it’s very clean
Kyle Boman: Clean rooms, nice bathroom, really comfy beds.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
