Leta: Love! Love! Love Great American Cookies! Cookies are always fresh and soft. I don't buy anywhere else. The staff are always friendly.
Stefanie Ruiz: I went in knowing I was going to spend around $100. I had a meeting to go to and wanted to pick up some cookies. I asked for 3 dozens. The lady looked very annoyed and had a nasty look on her face. Asked me with an attitude you want 3 dozens? I kindly said yes to which she immediately looked like she didn’t like my response or her job. She then gave me a nasty stare and said you know that is going to be $60/$70? I told her yes and she still had an attitude and ugly look and proceeded to ask what kind I wanted. After I noticed how bothered she looked to help me I said never-mind. You lost my business after today and I LOVE your cookies!!
Joifulady 1: The cookies are amazing, as they've been from the beginning. My issue is the staff. Met one young lady who was VERY nice...wish I could remember her name. But the guy(Mgr) and the girl with the piercings leave a little to be desired in the way of interaction with the public. Very cut and dry...almost as if it's a bother to ask a question or take an order. Maybe they were having an off day.

Amber Walker: Been ordering cookie cakes from here for over a decade. Grew up on Great American down in Texas and literally cried when I found one up here in KC. I was 6 months pregnant at the time so I immediately ordered one for my baby shower even though we already had cake and have ordered one at least annually ever since. They have gotten me thru many of my kid’s birthdays; cake was always on time, as requested, and fresh!That said .. Man Great American, you guys really need to switch locations and move out of Independence Center. If you can make any business moves, that would be the thing I would focus on. My kid’s birthday is coming up again, but I don’t even wanna have to go there to pick it up with the crime that happens at that mall all the time now. Your cookie cakes are usually great but they aren’t worth getting shot/robbed for. If you all moved to an area that was not on the News fairly often, I think a lot more people would go there and the reviews would be better.

David Betz: This is a great example of a store that might go away if we all stop shopping there. They have a fee when you order over $5 (forcing you to break up transactions) and they don't accept secure credit card transactions, only swipe. There's no excuse for that in 2022.
Angel Quarles: This is the third time I’ve had the same worker and she is very rides and moves as if she hates her job . Blank stares and rude quick responses . Doesn’t allow me to take my time to pick the cookies I want and seems annoyed when I ask questions about the cookies . Plus the cookies were very mushy and broke apart the big Cookie tasted like it sat out all night
MacKenzie Bunch: I generally haven’t had any problems with the independence location, but today was just a mess, I wasn’t sure if the person that was working today if it was their first day or not? But I asked for a regular coke slushee, he ended up giving me a large and I asked for a Domino cookie but he gave me a triple chocolate cookie, he also charged me for a large slushee but other than that experience that place has been great and good service

Liz S: Bought two different kinds of cookies last Saturday. Both tasted good, but both were partially uncooked in the center. I'm not talking soft - I like soft cookies. Just undercooked. For $2 per cookie, I would expect better.

I would rate this employee a zero on his own, but I'm rating it a two because most generally the employees are pretty customer friendly and have never refused me service before tonight. I'm very disappointed with my experience at Great American Cookie.
Chez Gleason: On 11/19/18 Monday at about 10:20am Even though They were seemingly open... Me and a Family of potential buyers stood at the counter looking rather confused while The Employee on hand was making new batch of Cookies. He looked up and saw all of Us but continued to do whatever He was doing instead of attending to The Customers. The Family walked off after a couple of minutes of being ignored. I stayed for a few more seconds to which He looked over at Me once again but still didn't come over to engage the customer! Really poor customer service and bad for company business as He lost several potential sales! It's sad that terrible customer service is becoming the new normal nowadays...
Jennifer McGehee: This was the second year in a row I tried to order a cookie cake for my husband’s birthday and both years they did not have my order even started when I tried to pick it up. Super disappointing and what’s more disappointing is how they handled it. Not even an apology. Acted like it wasn’t their problem. My 2 and 3 year old were wondering where their dads cake was. They have officially lost my business.

H. T.: This is a quaint little shop that we are so happy we stumbled upon. We have liked everything we tried and the owner is so very nice. There are a lot of varieties and there have been different choices each time we have gone. We've had the brownies, chocolate chip cookies, coffee cake, croissants, scones and they we all delightful. My favorite is the "shoe bun" (pictured by itself on the white plate) I had never tried one before and it's so delicious. It is now an all-time-favorite chocolate dessert of mine. I will reccomend this place to anyone who asks! She does custom cakes and cupcakes as well. Stop by or you're missing out!

Kim: I could only give it one star to post the review. Honestly it doesn’t deserve one star. I was truly disappointed. The cake I ordered was $92.00 and it tasted old and there was an odd taste in the frosting. It was supposed to have lemon filling but I couldn’t taste or see the filling. I was really looking forward to this cake and I was truly let down!!!

Tom Shoemaker: Donuts were amazing, I had a cherry filled and the cherry flavor was intense, the donut not overly sweet or greasy...perfect!The inside could use some straightening, no real place to sit but the unlike some of the other reviews, our server was really nice and outgoing. We felt very welcomed.
Elizabeth Howard: I haven't visited Poppys in years but I decided to make the drive over there this weekend because donuts sounded good to everyone and I remembered how good they were. I pulled up to the front and thought they might be closed because there were piles of clutter everywhere in the old eat in area. The sign said open so I went in. The lady at the counter didn't seem to friendly. I asked her a few questions and got terse answers (felt as if I must be bothering her) so I quickly ordered a half dozen glazed and 2 specialty donuts. This was a little over 13 dollars. A little steep i think but donuts are getting really expensive everywhere. The donuts were good though. If I lived closer I'd go back but I probably won't drive clear across town for them again.
Dana Benedict: Poppy's is our family favorite, and always will be!! Some donut shops in the area tend to be too sweet for my taste, but Poppy's donuts are perfectly delicious each and every time. If you're in the Independence area and haven't tried them, you're missing out!!

Pat Kaler: Best donuts in the Kansas City area hands down. I drive over an hour to get these delicious donuts. Never once had an issue with anyone working behind the counter being rude or unfriendly. I've been going to this establishment weekly for over 5 years now. Make sure to bring cash, they don't accept debit or credit due to the outrageous fees associated with processing credit cards.

My granddaughter buys a sack of cookies everytime we leave to take to school and she says they are very delicious. It s our go to place. It s also quiet so you can have a conversation in a quiet space. We are regulars and will continue to be.

I spoke with Regina and explained my situation and what I wanted. I asked if a picture could be sent to me after the arrangement was completed, since I would not be able to attend the funeral. She said that would be no problem. Today, I got the picture as promised. I am so happy with not only the arrangement but with the customer service that I received.
