ashlee holland: Attempted to close out my deceased mother’s bank accounts and thanks to Dezzarrae Ramirez and Shari Ring, I will never step foot in another Blue Ridge Bank again. They are unprofessional, lack compassion, and are both incompetent at their jobs which is funny considering one is the branch manager and one is the assistant manager. Do yourself a favor and find literally any other bank. Giving your money to a stranger or homeless person would probably be safer than giving it to these two.
Stephanie McNatt: Loan operations dept needs some serious training in customer service. Agent ( Katrina, supervisor) who answered the phone was condescending and spoke to me like a child. From someone who was previously in banking, I would never personally bank with this company.
Ashley Johann: The two ladies at the desks (not the tellers) literally laughed at me as I was walking out. Will never move my money there. That’s not even mentioning how condescendingly I was spoke to by what I assume was the supervisor. Not sure if that’s how she normally talks to people or if she took offense to me wearing sweats on a cold day but if they want to actually get customers they need to do some training with her.
Joseph Smith: They keep closing branches, their ATM never has cash in it and constantly says "transaction unavailable", their mobile app is so incredibly archaic that this bank is very quickly dying. Planning on closing my accounts soon.

Lee Auto Repair: I have been doing business with this bank for about 13 years and have never had an issue. Jeff Scassellati , Edy Hall And Amber Starr have always taken care of my needs. Wouldn't think of ever going anywhere else. After reading some of the other reviews I cannot agree with them. I to have a business account and Blue Ridge bank financed my new Auto Repair Shop. Not sure what the other guys problem is with holding his deposits for seven days mine are good the next day
Shelly Kelsay: Had to get a new debit card, was told I had to come back the next day for card because the machine wasn't working. When I picked up card the was next day I told was told it be activated until after 5. Went to use it the next day on a Saturday, guess what, didn't work and no way to fix it until Monday. 😠
Jeffrey Montgomery: Been with them for over 19 years. I'm 34, so over half my life. Started my first checking account with them when I was 15. They have slowly gone down hill. Tellers aren't as friendly. They closed their Northland location, so now less convenient. Now they are unwilling to work with a longstanding member like myself on some bounce protection fees. These were more than the charges themselves! I can't close my account soon enough. They may want to look at changing their "policies", because other banks fee's are way less.

Not only are there many locations to bank at here in the metro area, but I have found that all the bank employees have been friendly and helpful throughout.The primary branch that I do business with is the one here in Independence. The Branch Manager Alby Bussey has always been extremely friendly and professional with me and my family. I have several business and personal accounts and have always felt like Alby and her team make me their number 1 customer.

When my wife and I decided to start a business, that's where we decided to do our business banking.There has been a general decline in service from the Little Blue branch. The tellers and customer service representatives are fine, it's the branch manager Alby Bussey; that's one problem. Every time I would call or come by the branch with a problem, I was met with attitude and a complete lack of compassion for my situation. In addition, her response is typically something condescending that is unproductive to the matter at hand.The overdraft, returned check, and check hold practices at this bank are extremely punitive to the customer. The check hold policy is the straw that broke my back. Again and again with the 7 day check holds! Even on my business account! I need my business funds to be more liquid than that. I'm over it! Do not use Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Co. I am going to let everyone I know not to use this bank and why.I'm taking my money to Community America Credit Union. Fantastic and personal service at the branch, and reasonable policies. Especially the check hold policy! $500 available that day, $4500 available the next business day, and the remaining on the third day. And that's "if" you don't have matching funds in the account.
Ox Wheeler: Went in with check to open account and was told it would be held for 7 days. Then I was told to come back with cash and it would be done. Returned the next day and the same guy I delt with previously didn't recognize me at all and look at me like I was stupid for speaking to him like we had already met. This offended me greatly. The guy was a douche and has no business in customer service. I went to Commerce Bank instead. It sucks cause I really wanted to bank here but forget it. I wanted to slap the stupid look off that dudes face!!

Chari House: The tellers at the 291 & 40 highway are awesome. The ATM can be very frustrating. So basically go there during business hours and ignore the ATM if possible. Will add the ATM is contacted through someone like Brinks, Loomis, Well's Fargo not the bank itself.

Today the older woman with glasses was intolerable because the two deposits I dropped off had some money mixed up (one was $20 short). I understand that my deposits SHOULD be accurate, but as I'm sure most humans have done, I miscounted. I don't have a machine to count my money for me, and I'm currently working 80 hours a week. Mistakes happen but this woman huffed and puffed, tossed the money on the counter and if she would have let me finish speaking would have heard me offer to take them back to my store and set them straight. I'm sure it won't matter to her, but I'm speaking with my supervisor about banking elsewhere as this is not the first time myself or employees have had experiences similar to mine today.

When this wasn't my fault to begin with. Not my fault they have employees that can't read numbers right and now I'm being overcharged for it! Just a scam for them to take more money!

Dr. Daddy: Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I've waited or 5 min to even be acknowledged in the drive through when there's noone else in the drivethrough. I've pressed the callbutton before because the shuttle wasn't working and noone showed up, again, noone in the driver through(had to just go home that day. Then other times it's perfectly pleasant. Everytime it seems like the folks are nice, but it also seems like they don't care about the customers. I wish it were more consistent. I've only been to one other branch, but it is consistently better.
Magenta Jett: I go here to do deposits and change orders for work and they are always helpful. They work fast and efficiently! Every time I walk in someone says HI and they are able to help me soon after. This bank is my favorite one to go to and I will continue Togo to them for my banking needs!

They were great for the first two weeks until I downloaded their app. Their app will lie and say I have a certain amount in my account when I really don’t, I have my card set up to where it can’t be charged if there’s no money on it. So the app lies and says I have this amount of money I only spend a couple dollars out of this amount of money and i’ll wake up the next day negative in my account and than in charged with MULTIPLE over draft fee. They consistently screw up, the drive through workers are rude, once I pay off my credit card I will be closing my account with them due to the inconsistency and the amount of stress this bank causes me. I would not recommend them to anyone, I have friends who i’ve steered the opposite way of Commerce and I have a lot of friends who agree that Commerce is the worst bank you could bank with here. GO TO COMMUNITY AMERICA!!

I had a terrible problem with a company taking out an automatic payment over and over and over again; causing me hundreds in overdraw fees. That company denied doing so. I went to the bank honestly expecting them to say there was nothing they could do. But instead, I was treated with professionalism and compassion and the nice lady went above and beyond to solve my problem that day! She even refunded some of the overdraw fees! She got the situation taken care of and helped me out a great deal. It was so nice to be treated like a person and not a number. I have had all great service from every transaction I have had with Commerce Bank from opening my account, to making deposits and now saving me money and fixing a huge headache. I highly recommend this Bank!

The 39th St. location in Independence is the only Commerce location that I've dealt with personally and if this branch is in any way a reflection of Commerce Bank as an entity, I am absolutely shocked that they still have individuals and businesses banking with them. I am regularly given the run-around whenever I have a concern and the staff here almost seem MORE eager to assist individuals in closing their accounts down instead of being personable or interested in addressing the problems. Their information is misleading and changes depending on their mood, apparently. Ease of access and usability are two concepts of which they have no knowledge and seemingly no interest in incorporating into their facility. Whether it's personal banking or a commercial account -- look elsewhere!

Davey Peachey: Came in last week and was unable to close my account because I didn't have an appointment. Made an appointment for this week and had someone without an appointment that was helped before me. I had a small window of time for the appointment due to their new time of operation. Had to schedule for my lunch break. I was closing my account because they charge a monthly service charge if your account has a balance less than $1,500. I had called months ago and was assured that my account was converted to a free account. While auditing my bank accounts at the end of the year, I discovered this wasn't the case. Samuel was friendly, quick, and efficient once helping me.
Maryanne Heinrich: Although the staff were courteous, I stood in line for 15 minutes to get to the ONE bank teller that was available.

I've been with them for 24yrs. Honestly, I'd rather do the ATM because a while back I went inside & had a problem with the teller. She was a very rude girl- Over me cashing a check & I had to write my last name in the "pay to" line because the person put my maiden name on check by accident. I told her I've been with yall for 22-23yrs and the ATM takes it. She wasn't happy nor would she let me cash the check. I almost quit the bank over it. Still deciding... already opened another account with a different NICER bank. Not sure what I may have up my sleeve.However, before this BoA has been Great to me!!! Though they have no problems hitting you with $34 overdraft fees, multiple times in 24hrs, even if it was $2.00 short. Come on yall! People are struggling and for you to take that kind of money from our pockets when we didn't/don't realize we went $2.00, or however much, over in our acct & evidently we were broker than we knew so you just take it & make it worse & harder to cover due to your HIGH CHARGES. Which takes time to recover from, due to your fee!!, & it's not like we weren't coming to deposit more money & fix our issue/mistake!!!! This is how banks do you.. they want your money in every way they can grab it. Who's literally robbing who here..???.... I understand a fee but $34?? Pityful & you should be ashamed.It's the mean teller that has me mad so she caused this review.

howard lotven: Sorry I cannot give this a zero. Should of known I was going to have problems when I first walked in. The employee at the front desk was leaning on her elbows and did not stand up when I came up to her. Asked me what i needed in a slightly perturbed manner. I told her I had several documents I needed to complete. That the documents were sent from Bank of America. I handed her the first document, a distribution from my deceased mother's cd, she looked at it and said, " I've never seen this before." RED FLAG! Then said, "Oh, this is for a minor." I told her no, it is for a distribution from my deceased mother's account. Rest of the paperwork has already been filed with Bank of America. She said, so I just need to mail this in? No, i can sign it here and get a certified check for my distribution. She then handed me back the document. The other document was to change the signature on the account held by me and my mother to just my signature. Told her I needed to change the transfer upon death information. She first said i couldn't do that, then said I needed a banker to do that. DUH - WHY DOES SHE THINK I CAME INTO THAT BRANCH. At this point I said, "Thank you, but I am going to a branch where they know what they are doing." And walked out. When i said that she finally stood straight up instead of leaning on her elbows, which she was doing the whole time and watch me walk out. A second employee was standing there the whole time and never said a word. After reviewing the reviews here, before I left this rating, I am now not surprised at the "service" or lack thereof I received at this location.
Michael Killion: If I could give 1/4 star I would. Today was the second time in a row that I walked into this branch and was treated SO rudely I was dumbfounded. If you are thinking about opening an account with this bank, go somewhere else... really. The last time I went in to cash a check and they told me, "we have no access to our cash right now". What? Also, the description on google says "drive-thru services". Nope. Go ahead and get out of your car and walk in for the simplest transaction. 90% of other banks still have their drive thru open so do yourself a favor and go there.

Ashley Anderson: Opened a new account with them, (I already have a checking and a savings it was a secondary checking) did not get sent or notified of a pin for the card. instead on the card activation letter it says I will be mailed a pin but it has been 2 weeks almost and haven't received a pin. no biggie except I've tried calling to get ahold of someone to set it up but no one answers the phone at this branch when I call it, and if I go through the automated voice prompts all it wants to do is re-mail me a pin. that doesn't work or solve any issues when I cant use my card that I have NOW. So I use my lunch (I work business hrs. M-F 8-6 so I am never "free" during their hours) to go there, and instead of being dealt with by a teller I am simply "checked-in" and have to wait. no biggie. but there are TWO tellers not doing anything while there are two people in the offices and one man in a separate cubicle (he's irrelevant in this bc I don't know what his title is) but one of the people in the office has an appt that shows up and he is working with them. the other person is a lady that is on the phone with someone about getting an appt set up (so obviously their phone's work, don't know why I could NEVER get ahold of anyone). she comes out and takes the lady that is waiting with me (she is trying to open an account - which is like a 30 min thing) so I am a little more irritated now (waiting 15 min already) - like if I was sent the pin info from the beginning or if someone could answer the phone this could have been resolved. My pin situation was a 5 min thing TOPS, but instead they have tellers twiddling their fingers when they could be helping people. This is not directly against the tellers that were there themselves, they do not have control over their job duties. But if BoFA is going to terminate the drive thru services, not provide pins to new cards, not answer their phones, or fail to use basic understanding of people's time then why bother?? Never really had an issue with them before, but as someone who has been a customer for years trying to remedy something that is not my fault, VS you (BoFA) favoring someone who is not even a customer yet seems off. Also please learn to prioritize and service your patrons better. I have to use ANOTHER one of my lunches tomorrow (I set up an appt this time) fixing an error on their part rather than having a true lunch.

Rick Mitchell: So I stop in on a Friday afternoon after getting my check. I'm not a firm believer in the banking system so I don't currently bank anywhere. It's places like this that make me that way. I only came here because this is where my employer chooses to do business with. I hand them my check and just asked to have it cashed. She promptly takes my check and asks for my I.D and right thumb print. At no point in time does she mention a fee for cashing a check. She gives me my cash and I start walking out and realize it's $8 short. I tell her and she then tells me about the fee. I would have never cashed a check there if I had known it cost so much. Little Ma and Pa banks don't charge that much. I'd figure a bank with as much as these people they could afford to let people cash checks from their own banks for free. Hell no it's $8 bucks. That's insane. Never again. Banks are the real criminals.

Michael Fields: Went to the counter to withdraw money from my account for a money order even though I had my valid drivers license and my debit card The teller refuse to give me my own funds she said my signatures did not match over 15 years with that account never had this problem I think it's time to switch to a credit union it's my money and I want it now !!!!!!

Charlie Goodrich: The lobby has been closed, understandable. Everything is done in Drive Through. Always have to ask for the slips before I can fill them out which is why the lobby was good because I had time to do that without making someone wait on me. The tellers are good about it but it doesn't make me feel any less guilty.Update...Bank saw this and sent me out some slips, didn't even have to ask. Little embarrassed I didn't think about asking for extra slips at the window.

H. M.: Banked with them for over a decade. When I opened the account it was free. If you dont have so much money deposited or spent you get charged $8 a month for essentially not making enough income to bank with them. After closing the account the bank manager left a single cent in the account. When my trash bill went through months later I got a letter in the mail stating the account was negative $140.I had to go back and close the account again and reconfirm my banking info with the trash company. It was a complete headache.

B P: My bank account was closed after two days because the balance was $0.00. I have been waiting for a wire transfer and my account was closed now I just talked to someone yesterday about my account and I was not told that after only 2 days of having a zero balance would be closed. I was told they sent the request to open the account back and my money will post today or tomorrow. They should no sense of remorse for just closing my account after 2 days of a zero balance. I've banked with bank midwest over 10 years and never recieved such horrible service.

Eric H: The bank stopped allowing night deposits for some reason, which makes it very difficult for me to be able to deposit my business's cash. I mean they already are charging for every single cash deposit anyway because it's a business account. Looks like it's time to go find another bank, luckily a central bank opened up just about a mile away.

Miss Grimm: Put 300$ in the atm on a sunday. It told me take my returned Bill's but never gave them back. Cant pay my Bill's now because even after calling the number on the ticket it gave me, the money still hasn't hit the account even though on the mobile app it says it added the 300 on the transaction part, but not into my actual account balance. This location has always caused problems. The location on noland handled some previous issues I had had through this bank that this location put off for months. Always telling me everyone was too busy to help....
C Cascade: I've been waiting at drive up for 13 minutes, my deposit was sent in the tube 13 minutes ago, no one has even greeted me or acknowledge my existence. This location has a habbit of long wait times and an ATM thats out of cash.

My kids were hungry my bills were late and THEY HELD MY MOMEY FOR NO REASON SAID I COULD CLOSE MY ACCOUNT HOWEVER EVERY TIME I TRIED THEY HAD ONE BS REASON AFTER ANOTHER WHY I COULDNT CLOSE IT I AM STILL STILL WAITING FOR MY MONEY.. IN THE PROCESS OF CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BEURU NOW DO NOT USE THIS BANK THEY ARE TOTAL CRAP.THEY HAD ME SIGH UP.FOR OVER DRAFT YET SENT A CHECK BACK TI THE ULITILTY COMPAMY EVEN THOU I HAD A PENDING DEPOSIT THAT WOULD EASILY COVER THE CHECK I HAVE A GOOD CREDIT SCORE AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH ANY ACCOUNT BEFOR DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK
